Great car, infotainement system needs improvements

I bought another CX-5, so I like a good enough. Quite ride, enough power without being forced into a turbo. But why on earth is the infotianment center not touch screen. The various knobs do the job, but fast forwarding a book on MP 3 in nearly impossible. Also the dash gauge could use an option to show speed digital as so many other do. Power heated seats are great and 2 setting memory for the seat at this low a trim is amazing and a buy reason for me.

I am a long time Mazda customer (two 626, 6, 3, and two cx-5s over 25 years) with some breaks in between different models. I just picked up a 2023 CX5 Premium Plus. Gorgeous car however a number of issues that Mazda has to seriously address. 1. At an out the door price of $41k for the Premium Plus it is absolutely unacceptable NOT to offer park sensors. Many other competitive vehicles have this feature. There are even a few cheaper cars out there that offer this feature. Very disappointing. 2. Rear heated seat buttons in the center armrest. Horrible HMI/design decision. They should be placed just below the rear vents on the back of the center console for easy access. Disappointing. 3. Lack of touch screen. It's 2022. I dig the center control dial, but touch screen is an absolute must. Come think of it, after a few months, the center dial is an outdated solution and needs to be serioudly adressed. My parents both in their mid 70's would have a terrible time figuring out this system. Really disappointing. 4. Again at $41k Mazda is charging $500 for the nav SD card with maps. Really? Luckily I have Android Auto. Question is why isn't the HUD displaying the route? No sign recognition, because of the lack of Mazda nav system. Really quite pathetic. My father's new 2023 Honda HRV in base configuration has sign recognition in the cluster WITHOUT the nav system on board. Mazda has to seriously up their tech game. Quite disappointing. Overall a great driving, solid quality car, with lagging technology and a few awkward design features. Would I recommend it? Yes, however think about these issues and decide for yourself if you are willing to live with them at this price point.

When you realize a sedan is not an option anymore, an SUV can be a great alternative ! This CX-5 is performing admirably. And for the price, I feel like I should be arrested for theft!

Coffee cup holder and owner's manual issues

We have owned the 2023 CX-5 five days. Critiques so far: 1. The coffee cup holder is impossible to use while driving. It is located too far back, making it near impossible to remove a liquid filled cup while driving. Mazda has no add-on product, Amazon does. I can't tell from the Amazon pictures how well their product will work. 2. The owner's manual index is difficult to use. The index has been worthless on 2 separate occasions already. In both cases, I ended up looking one page at a time before I was able to find the information I was looking for. a) When attempting to connect the garage door opener. b) When attempting to change the odometer from Km to Miles; I never did locate the information, thank goodness for Google.

Bought this car after trading in a Ford Escape. Much better handling car interior quality excellent. Red accents and blind spot warnings are a good feature. Car is quick at highway speeds. Took a bit to get used to sound system. Could not link it up with Sirius. Have to use phone but outside of that excellent vehicle.
