I loved the look and features of the car. Price was right too. However, it has a much rougher ride compared to others in its class (e.g. Altima, Sonata)

Let me give you the bad news first, the mirrows and heads up display do not have a memory setting like the seats. The black leather interior gets hot in the so cal sun and it takes the ac 2-3 minutes to cool it all down. Now to the good stuff. No fumbling with keys for entry, trunk or start. Very comfy seats with good leg room. Great power, you can put this car where ever you want it on the road. The sport mode is there if you need a power boost for the 4cyc, but it does hinder mileage when it's on. Attractive inside and outside, fun leds inside and out. Safety features are adjustable, very helpful for freeways and parking lots. We call it the zoom zoom with deep affection.

We have owned a 2016 Mazda 6 for exactly one year and it has been flawless. The car looks fantastic and handles far better than any of the class competitors. Putting the transmission in SPORT mode keeps the RPM's in the sweet spot and provides plenty of punch despite the 4 cylinder engine which has been criticzed for being underpowered. Meanwhile on the highway the car returns almost 40mpg. My only complaints are that the front seats are a little narrow at the shoulders and the trunk capacity could be a bit larger. The Mazda 6 styling, interior and handling clearly outclass the Accord and Camry. Very happy with our decision.

What I love: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the manual transmission. It is the smoothest I have ever driven. The car looks like a Maserati, it is the most beautiful car I have ever driven. I have people complement me on how nice the car looks. It is comfortable to drive and has plenty of power. The hands free phone works great stereo is great. The gas mileage is decent for a car this size. I came from Diesel Jettas, and I got spoiled. Mazda of Roswell is an excellent dealership, they were easy to work with and got me the exact car I wanted at a great price. What I don't love: Why does Mazda NOT put the same equipment options on the models with manual trannies? No satellite radio, no fog lights, no heated seats. I was able to get after market which is ok, but not as good on the radio. BTW, thank you Mazda, VW would not even have had that option. Why does the navigation not have up to the date traffic? There is an HD traffic app, but it is very vague. Coming from a decade of German engineering, I am loving the dependability and sheer driving pleasure of this car. You would not be able to find this in any other Asian make. Update: I now have over 40,000 miles on "clifford" and, if anything, I love the car more. The maintenance is incredibly easy to do on our own. The car is still the most beautiful car on the road. I will definitely be keeping this car until the wheels fall off. Update: I am now at 70,000 and I still love the car. Took it to the blue ridge parkway over Thanksgiving and actually let my Husband drive. He is in love with the car too! I have just upgraded to Android Auto and am getting used to that. Now the entertainment/navigation system is on part with any other car on the market. I read that Mazda was only going to offer the manual transmission on the lowest end model of the 6. That's a shame because this configuration is incredible. Update: Nearly 100,000 miles and still the best car I have ever driven. Android Auto was a great upgrade. Sorry to hear that Mazda is no longer offering the manual transmission as an option. It is a great car. I will keep this car forever. Just change the oil and rotate the tires and you are all set. Update Have 130,000 miles. Still the best car I have ever owned. Trouble free.

I wish I could have found a touring with a 6 speed manual and Moonroof. They don't make that combination. The car feel slightly under powered. I added fog lights which was more for aesthetics versus function. It is a beautifully styled car, looks very much like a Camary in a lot of ways but is so much better as far as overall lines. It is far the most balanced of the Mazda lineup.

It seems as though the Mazda 6 has earned its spot among brand loyalists the most. those who have owned any, or multiple Mazda vehicles in the past were drawn to this model because of the brand itself. The driving dynamic that Mazda keeps focus on is very evident in the 6. Those who would call a mid-size sedan's sharp handling/mechanical grip/high revving engine/firm suspension/manual transmission all either uncomfortable or an inconvenience. They've forgotten the reason Mazda does what they do. It was for those reasons that I looked forward to purchasing my 6. I couldn't see myself in another makes mid-size sedan and being as pleased with a simple drive down the street. A muted driving experience, while I agree would be much more comfortable would only take away from the reason Im driving to begin with. While the complaint with engine power being on the lower end, I find it quite sufficient when it's needed. I purchased an iTouring manual transmission model simply because I enjoy being engaged when I drive. Having the ability to hold onto a gear while merging onto a highway/interstate is easier and puts you in a better position to utilize every bit of HP/torque the engine has to offer. Comfort will always be subjective, but I do enjoy the interior of the 6. Seats are firm and supportive, while lateral movement is kept well in check during cornering. The manual transmission is excellent and to be expected from Mazda. The shift gate is well weighted, great centering tension, and engages with a satisfying "thunk" Quicker shifts on what's still not quite broken in do take some attention, and a missed shift or two will bring one back to reality. The tire/wheel combo of the Touring and Grand Touring models is great, both for aesthetics and driving. Road noise is not near as bad as some would lead you to believe. Granted I've not driven other's in this segment, and while cabin noise is surely lower in those vehicles, my basis for comparison leads me to think that interior noise is very acceptable. Cargo space will always be an issue for me as I still desire Mazda to bring the 6 wagon to the U.S. market. My other vehicle is a 2003 Mazda Protege5 and has performed so well in every aspect. I bought my 6 as an upgrade in both fit and finish, it would have been a homerun if I could have added utility to that list with the 6 wagon. The trunk is very effective still. Multiple 400mi road trips have allowed me to pack away everything in the trunk, leaving the back seat open for misc items or more passengers. If you're desire to buy is based on power/comfort/appearance you'll need to either accept you cannot have all three, or be willing to pay a premium to do so. I believe the 6 offers you a premium feel, handling, and comfort for a very competitive price. It's easily a vehicle I can see myself owning well after it's paid for.

90k miles since new - 6 speed manual touring

A balanced, wallet-friendly sports sedan. Mainly just recommended maintenance per owners manual so far: so oil changes, tire rotations, air filters, spark plugs at 75k, plus valve cover gasket which slightly began a leak at around 80k miles. None of this was super expensive at a local garage. Car is on 19” low pro factory tires and doesn’t burn through tires at all (unlike sports cars I’ve had before). I got 55k miles from one set of Michelins I bought from Costco at 35k miles. It accelerates kind of slowly unless you depress pedal 1/2 way or more, but that’s because it prioritizes gas mileage. I get 27 in the city and 36 on the highway. Apple car play was added after the fact for $500 at dealer. It works excellently, even voice commands better than my wife’s 7 year newer VW. I’d say Mazda built a keeper. Too bad it sold poorly and sedans went out of vogue in mid-2010s. I can’t get much money on a resell due to low buyer interest but they’re all missing out. I think this car is great. Has good amount of room for 6 foot tall driver. Even my 6’2 siblings can drive it with ample leg room. Rear seat fits bulky child seat just fine. Heater and a/c aren’t as strong as Chevy tahoes. I guess it’s a give and take. Handling is outstanding. The car stays planted in spirited cornering and all shifts are smooth. Change the muffler to twin straight through ones and you’ll notice more power off the line. I did this at 400miles after feeling like it stuttered to get moving at each green light. No more issue after putting in an axle back exhaust. Headlights upgraded to HID which were a must because halogen bulbs in projector lamps are what come factory. Touchscreen is placed so perfectly so as not to intrude on driver views of road. This is superior to many cars which just stick an ugly tablet in middle of the dash. I think the car is great for anyone who has a small family but still wants a drivers car.

I have had the Mazda 6 for a little over a month now. It's been fun to drive. I do wish this power driver seat was eight way instead of just six way but with the added support towards the edge of the seat it minimizes the need for me to have the additional tilting of the bottom seat. Overall I am very pleased with the car.

Madza 6 is an awesome car. This is my second Mazda. My entire family loves the ride, the interior seats, and overall feel of the car. I have been in more expensive cars like Mercedes 300 and the Mazda 6 feels better, drives as smooth, hugs the curves better, and is just a fun car because I know I did not pay the price of a Mercedes. This car is just fun to drive! I love the new safety features such as the beep when another car is too close to me as I change lanes. The rear camera is wonderful for those tight parking spots and awkward areas when you can't see. Love it! It is Awesomeness on Wheels!

I am a father of four. Until now I have been able to avoid the awful "passenger sedan" segment. I researched and test drove: Passat SEL and SE TDI, used TSX Acura sport wagon, a Golf sportwagen S and SE TDI and TSI, an Accord sport, a Prius, a Camry, and a used Maxima. I am weird and was not drawn to exterior styling of the Mazda, so it was an afterthought on the way home. I bought it right then and there. I have owned it for 6 months and roughly 5000 miles. I get sick of cars very quickly. My average purchase is 2 years tops. I have no regrets and will probably keep this car for my kids. Fun factor, safety, styling, gas mileage, and practicality....check. I question criticism of this car. Honestly do not see where it has a major flaw compared to the competition. My only big complaint is that I find it somewhat hard to enter and exit. Minor complaint is the slow infotainment.

In the last 4 years, I've owned a 2009 Honda Accord ES, 2014 Chevy Malibu LT2 (wife cars), 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5SL, and the 2016 Mazda iTouring so I'm pretty familiar with the class. I bought the Mazda because I really like the styling and I don't like driving a car that I see 17 just like it in the company parking lot. Upside: steering/handling, mileage, quietness, downside: very stiff ride, uncomfortable seats. The stiff ride/great handling are both a product of the 45 series tires. Speaking of, the OEM tires are Dunlop W=rated with a 340 mileage rating...I figure I'll get about a year out of them. Engine performance isn't overwhelming but completely adequate. I got used to the CV transmission in the Altima and miss it...ratio was always exactly what you needed. Wife's Malibu shifts smoother than the Mazda. The iTouring comes standard with backup monitor, cross traffic and blind-spot monitors..the blind-spot monitors are needed as the outside mirrors are mounted somewhat further back than some cars and the B-pillars are wide making for a LARGE blind-spot. Even with the monitors, I've cut a couple of people off. Also on the iTouring, dual zone climate control. Like that the rear seats fold completely flat and the distance between the wheel wells is wider than my old Altima...brought home a 60 in TV last week, no problem. Seats have prominent side bolsters (good) but little lumbar support (bad). I've driven my Altima 14-16 hours straight...don't know how that would work in the Mazda. I like that the material in the interior is actually stitched...the Malibu is molded plastic that LOOKS like stitching. That said, the visors are vinyl, not cloth covered and look like something out of a '77 Toyota Tercel...cheap. Radio uses a central control knob (like many high-end cars) and a touch screen...the touch screen is inactive when the car is moving...takes a little getting used to but nice in that the control knob falls easily to hand when you rest your arm on the console. I've been pleasantly surprised by mileage. I hit 40 occasionally and probably average 35-37, although that seems to be dropping off now that the weather is getting colder. A good car but not for everyone.

I Don't use the remote start. Other than that, it has been a great car. There was an oil pump issue, recall from the factiry. Promptly attentended to, and other than that, it has remained a rock solid car. It gets great mileage and has been 100% reliable. One year later still have the mazda 6, still love it. It has been a dream, the dealership here in waco rd has provided tremendous support. The mileage is superb 40+ on highway trips, 33 average around town. The 2019 has 250 go, non turbo, ours is set up with 180.

Mazda Didn't Finish the Job - Road Noise

Great car! Its an amazing car, looks and performs great. I just spent $1600 sound deadening the NEW car with dynamat extreme because the road noise was so LOUD! Wonder why Mazda didn't finish the job and make it a great car off the showroom floor? They say they are competing with Audi and Jaguar but with me having to sound proof the car is proof they are not there yet. Also not so good is the Bluetooth for phone calls. It sounds OK in the car but the microphone or processing needs improvement because the audio on the other end is terrible. These are the ONLY 2 items I have an issue with. Overall the car has performed great with no issues in the last 3 years.

What's not Great. 1. front seats designers must be 12 year old girls. Soo uncomfortable 2. Rear camera is very poor quality compared to others I have seen with Honda and subaru. The image is just not clear and expecially bad at night. 3. Quality of materials is poor 4. Poor mpg, nothing close to what the claims are.

Disappointed with Mazda

I bought the 6 new in 2016 after an extensive car search and there were some things I should have looked at further before pulling the trigger. I had been driving a 2011 Acura TSX, which was a great ride, and when I gave it to my son he drove it well for another three years. There were a lot of things I liked about the 6. The car does handle well and is a relatively nice road cruiser. I have the Grand Touring model with the Heads Up Display, Blind Spot Monitoring, two tone interior. The car's mileage varies greatly from around town in North Texas where I might get the mid-twenties to the open road where I have gotten 35 and one tank while in Oregon last year I hit 40 mpg. Acceleration is smooth, the engine has been reliable and I am nearing 72000 in a few weeks. There are a number of minor issues which cropped up early. The powder coating on the wheels came off pretty much completely around 30K miles. The dealer stated there was a recall for the issue and new wheels would be ordered. (I did not receive a recall notice either by mail or email.) The wheels never came and the dealer never called. Over the next five service trips I asked about it, and was told they should be coming. I brought it up with the dealer Sales Manager and he said I should get new wheels. Then I had to work directly with Mazda and was told, that since the car now was past the 36000 mile mark they would strip my existing wheels and have them recoated, and not replaced, which had been the original comment, despite the fact I had noticed it before the 36000 mile mark. Then to add insult to injury the dealer charged me for the labor of removing the wheels and putting them back on. The head up display is actually an indicator of battery strength - it started to not come up about two months before I replaced the battery - at the three year mark. The software is slow to load at times after startup. I am religious about tires and despite having nice Michelins now on the car the wear seems to be uneven. The Michelins on my Acura went nearly 60K miles before I replaced them. I started looking this year to drop the 6 when the electronic parking brake failed not once but twice with a span of two weeks - locking the car in place where it could not be driven. Fortunately I was home both times. The sensor and the gear had to be replace and the Mazda tech at the dealer when the sensor was replaced failed to check the gear, which had corroded through at 66000 miles. The insult was Mazda tried to make me paying the towing fee for the second failure, which lead to another discussion with the dealer Service Manager. The road noise is noticeable nd the paint quality is moderate. I looked at Mazda a number of times through the years and this experience has soured me on the brand. I have decided to move on.

An annoying feature of this car is that it does not allow you to change the radio station while the car is in motion. There is no knob to change the station and the menu interface for that function is locked out while the car is in motion. By trying to be to smart the car is actually simpleminded.

Drove it for a whole week in the Rocky Mountains

I was giving this Mazda 6 as a rental for when I visited Boulder, Colorado area. I drove the vehicle for 5 days and hundreds of miles in the twisty rocky mountain roads, and also drove it over a 5 mile unpaved rocky trail access road. The professional reviewers were not kidding when they said the car handles like premium sports sedan, the turning is precise, the rolling is minimal, the suspension is firmer than many other family sedans, and it just feels very confident in the twisty roads. But it only applies when road condition is optimal, ie. having good paved asphalt road. If you want to visit some hard to access trail heads, you'll be driving over very rocky unpaved roads, with lots of gravel, lose rocks, dirt, mud etc.. And that's when the Mazda 6 is not gonna cut it (just barely made it with lots of sweat in your hand). You'll definitely need an AWD vehicle with high clearance to be able to comfortably drive on unpaved roads, the Mazda 6 in this instance feels super bumpy, un-controllable when driving on lose gravel and rocky roads. A few other area that the Mazda 6 lacks is cabin refinement, cabin noise, and engine acceleration. The engine accelerates very slowly due to an under powered 170hp engine, it does get really good mpg (over 38mpg to be exact) on the hwy. The cabin definitely feels a class cheaper than some other competitors (Honda/Toyota) and the included media control is cool to look at but not really intuitive to use and especially when you need to save a favorite radio channel. The cabin is also very noisy when the speed is above 30mph, and there is some unwanted buzz/rattle sound that I was never able to find out the source. Another major annoyance is that the A pillar in front of the car blocks a majority of road view, and there is barely any space to put a windshield smartphone mount to use your phone as the GPS, because of the angle of the windshield, and the amount of clearance there is between the windshield and the pop-up LCD display. The trunk space is very spacious however, and there are some useful side organizers in the trunk to help get things tidy. The cup holders are also a design failure - It was unable to hold any drinks or bottles larger than 16oz. Overall, if you want a family sedan that also have some "driver's car" quality, you should consider the Mazda 6. But do keep in mind some of the annoyances that I've mentioned when you go test drive the car. FYI I personally own a honda accord v6 EX-L that I based my comparison on.

Gone on a few Tours with the Mazda 6 Touring

I wanted a car that looked good, had some pep, decent gas milage, reliable, and was comfortable enough for some long road trips. Mission accomplished with my silver 2016 Mazda 6 Touring. I live in Minnesota, and have driven it to Breckenridge CO, New Orleans LA, and recently to Ishpeming MI. The tires that came on the car lasted about 2 years, I just replaced them with Kumho ECSTA LX PLATINUM - SIZE: 225/45ZR19. They seem to be doing the job. My only minor complaints are that the stereo system will lose it's presets periodically (it hasn't happened for a while now), the oil plug required a special T-50 socket which my oil change place just replaced the plug with one that takes a standard socket, and the original tires were not good in snow and only lasted 40k. Besides these minor complaints I love this car, and get many compliments on it.

Not a muscle car, but loves to be thrown into turns. You can fit a huge 50 gallon blue water barrel in the back seat if you like. 39 mpg highway. Its so long between fill ups I usually forget where I bought gas the last time. Never get tired of looking at her. Sometimes I come out of the store and say damn, oh yeah that’s my car. I’ve followed four wheel drive trucks up steep mountain roads through the woods with 19” wheels with no issues. Had to replace the stock tires ASAP. Tranny started revving and slamming into gear so replaced under warranty at 45,000 miles, no drama. Cruise control switches acting funny now. Too bad I’ll never get my money back out of this car it’s always worth less than I still owe on it. I’d probably get the Camry next time for value and reliability. The interior is a great place to be. Needs Apple CarPlay. I’ll get the manual tranny next time.

Wonderful, except 19' rims + potholes = $$$$

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE everything about my new car, except the 19' rims and low profile tires. They're beautiful but really impractical for Chicago roads which are rife with potholes. I've had my car for a month now and already suffered 4 flat tires, 3 pothole related and 1 from a nail. So after buying 5 tires I've decided that I'm going to buy smaller rims with regular tires. If you live in an area without tons of potholes you might be okay, but be aware that there is a risk of that. It's a very comfortable car with tons of room and great styling. I get compliments on it all the time, especially the interior which looks more like a Lexus or BMW than a regular sedan. The heated seats are warm and cozy without being overly hot even on level 3. Overall I would still purchase this car again, just with different rims.

Beware of the poor tires that come on this vehicle. I was limited by the dealership as to where I could drive when I tested it and later discovered it was not as quiet or comfortable as it was reported to be. The sound system is just ok. The navigation system is ok but doesn't work if you are using an auxiliary input like a e-reader or your mp-3 stick. The mileage promised versus what you will actually get are in different worlds... The mileage I had for over 75,000 miles on my 2011 V-6 Ford Fusion averaged a bit higher! The doors, the trunk, and the hood all sound like a tin can when you open and shut them and perhaps this saves on weight but it makes them easy to dent and have a cheap feel to the vehicle. I had the car less than 40 days and had two issues that required trips to the dealership. This is not what I expect from a Mazda dealer prepped automobile that has been completely examined prior to sale! I hope it is aberration but I fear it is a omen of what is to come. I like the feel of driving this vehicle, but I am less satisfied with it now that when I bought it. If Ford had not discontinued the Fusion for 2019, I probably would have bought a late model Fusion instead. I looked at Altimas, Foresters, Sonatas, Optimas, and Malibus, before buying the top of the line Mazda. As nice as it is, I still wonder if the will go zoom, zoom for or zoom, zip, rip, kaput!

Great overall car. I had a 2014 Mazda 6 Grand Touring but someone t-boned my car. It did so well during the crash that I decided to buy the same car on the newer model. The best only complaint I have is that on my 2014 model the navigation system would show the traffic conditions, but this one doesn't.

This 2016 Mazda 6 Sport was a replacement of a 2014 Mazda 3 with manual transmission. Shortly after buying the Mazda 3 had less than 100 miles, the issues started with rattling in the dash. This got worse with every month. At each service at the dealership in Spokane WA, I mentioned about the problem. Yes, they recorded the problems but nothing was done to make it better. After moving to another town in WA, I took the same Mazda 3 to another Mazda dealer and service, where they saw my record of complaints. This time the service manager and I went out on a 100 mile trip. His verdict, "it's not only the dash rattling, it's the whole care." After some time and dealership phone calls with Mazda Corporation, they got me into a brand new 2016 Mazda 6, sure I had to come up with extra money. Just after one month I heard some weird noises from the front, got back to dealer ship. They test drove the car, and came back to me saying "the driveline on left side is bad, it has to be replaced". After this the dash noises came back, again all has been recorded at Mazda. Then in early 2018 the tires Yokohama was worn out...… I only drive highway and had about 35k miles, no warranty from tire manufacturer nor dealership. Fortunate I had replacement tires at home. Next issue, the shocks! They are all worn out! Front and rear are all leaking! Dealership won't do anything.... have had several calls with Mazda Corp in California without any results. Will I buy another Mazda? NO! Would I recommend Mazda? NO! I am so disappointed with the quality of the brand and Mazda Company.

Went from a 2015 Nissan Altima to this and couldn't be happier with my decision. The ride quality and overall value of this car is hard to believe. The only minor issues are road noise, however it is tuned for sportier driving and comes with low-profile 19" all-season tires, so that's to be expected. Small price to pay for such a great driving feel.

Looking at this car from the outside it is really good looking.Once in this car my it was a different story. While the front seats are very nice, the controls and the dashboard are not so friendly.Visibility was not great and the ride was noisy and uncomfortable. The handling and steering are first rate, but the noise and ride not enjoyable for me.I felt the interior all in all felt cheap and unattractive. To me there are better choices in this class of cars.

I regret buying a MAZDA 6

I bought a 2016 Mazda 6, I have about 40k miles on it and I regret so much buying this car. Sure it's reliable, and gets me from point A to B, but there are so many better cars for about the same price. The Infotainment is worthless and the main beef with this car. Bluetooth is not all that good and takes forever to connect. The built in music player/MP3 player is literally the worst media player in the history of technology. It's impossible to navigate through the artist directory as it is so slow. If I want to go from AC DC to ZZTop it will literally take me over 40 minutes to do it because it's that slow in loading . But once it loads it's good right? No, because it is constantly simultaneously unloading what it just loaded so it will always feel broken. So scrolling back over names it just loaded will cause it to lag and nearly crash. Open an album with only 20 songs and it will take a few minutes to scroll to the last song. Not only that, you won't even have access to your library for at least 10-15 minutes as it boots up. Voice recognition doesn't kick in for some reason for about 20 minutes until after you start driving, and trying to use it early will crash the system. How do you know it's ready? You don't. Now deal with all this frustration while you're driving to work everyday. You don't nee that headache. I have called MAZDA so many times about this over the past 2 years, and they just don't care. This is something that should have been fixed with a patch over the weekend, but here I am, 2 years later writing this review. Also driving with the front windows closed but the rear windows open will make your car SO noisy and shake. It's the weirdest thing. You can do so much better with a Honda, Toyota, Ford, Nissan..etc

Bought this car brand new in Oct 2016. I am the only one that drives this car. Acceleration is horrible, and no power at all. Ride quality is horrible, lots of wind noise in cabin if going over 60 mph. Paint is already chipping on hood, and front of car, without highway driving, and car is parked under covered parking, and washed with gently soap. DO NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE, IT IS POORLY MADE. Okay so I am really enjoying this car - I live in the country and the roads around here have a lot of sharp turns, lots of uphills and downhills and the like and the handling on this car is amazing. I feel very comfortable and confident taking the turns at higher speeds than previous cars, it just feels natural. For those complaining about the power of this.. What did you think you were getting into with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder? Idiots compare this car with the i6 bmws and that's just not what this car is. I will say the one slight fault this car has is it isn't extremely smooth on roads that have had a bit of work, the car feels like it bounces a bit much and little tiny rocks and such make a lot of noise under the vehicle, something I had to get used to, but I'm not overly upset about. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

This is the most comfortable, fun to drive sedan I have ever driven. In the first year I put almost 20,000 miles on it. The steering and handling is great and the sport mode enhances the acceleration greatly. Zooms up curvy mountains and grips the turns. No problem in the snow. I live in central PA and have no issue maneuvering. So far I have had a few oil changes and tire rotations. That's it. The gas mileage is wonderful especially on highways. This is my first Mazda and I will probably be a Mazda owner for life now

Let me start off by stating that I commute 150 miles round trip to North Jersey on the NJ turnpike daily and I bought this car for this purpose. The Mazda 6 GT is the most attractive and functional vehicle I have ever owned. This car holds it own compared to other more expensive vehicles on the road and is a balanced, affordable luxury package in my opinion. Exterior fit and finish are excellent as are the materials in the cabin. Switches have great tactile feel and safety features can't be beat. Electronics are very good but still doesn't have CarPlay capability. Currently I'm getting 32.5 MPG on regular gas and regularly cruise the TP at 80 to 85 MPH. While this car is no drag racer, it has ample power that comes on early, so if you get on it you'd better hang on. Handling is terrific and the ride is just what I like but the car is somewhat light and moves a little in high wind. This is the best long distance commuter you can get.

I purchased a 2016 Mazda6 in 2015; new, itouring with tech package (I was 22 years old at the time). 5 years, 50K miles later, I have had NO ISSUES at all. I'm not an aggressive driver; I don't gun it or brake hard, and by doing so I've averaged 30 MPG combined (now 34 with really only highway driving during COVID) and OEM Dunlop tires (19 inch) are 50% life left; brakes 60% left too. I've only changed oil + rotated tires every oil service, that's it! I may have to change the windshield wipers soon. No visible seat or interior wear. Net/net, has been a super reliable car for me. All lights and electronics remain working and it rides just fine. The only tradeoffs (every car has them): The 6 with 19 inch tires does drive a bit hard (the car doesn't feel as heavy or smooth as say a Chevy), especially with the 19s, but, I think most asian cars feel less "solid"; this hasn't bothered me. A good amount of wind noise, too, but again...tradeoffs. The reliability and really fun to drive aspects of the car outweigh these minor annoyances. Runs a little rough on cold mornings, but once up to operating warmth, again just fine (Upstate New York). I did have to fix my passenger speaker after it separated from the housing unit (common issue; simply take off door panel and glue the speaker back to housing to eliminate the "farting" noise - watched youtube videos). No complaints. I still get a ton of compliments; especially with the tech package, they only made this configuration for 2 model years, so it's unique for those who have an eye for cars. Looks really sharp with the LEDs. I plan on driving it for 50K more!

They are getting scarce. Very happy with the 6 so far. 3 years later still love the car, a, lot more car than many people get for 28-30 K Despise the traction control, in the snow & ice it keeps cutting the engine out if I spin the from wheels a bit - usually when I am pulling out into traffic, thanks a lot. Car still runs perfect, looks good, zero problems (as expected). The electric safety brake is a great idea that sucks in practice.

Basically,. the facts in this review remain the same. I have had the car for 4.5 years now and it is running well. The pros: wonderful miles per gallon, very comfortable, smooth ride, great trunk. We have had some great trips in this vehicle. I was going to trade up at three years, but we will keep it longer. The cons: poor navigation system (no live traffic data, search data not ranked on proximity), not for speedy accelerators. Note that the car is geared for optimal performance between 45-60 miles per hour. If you are looking for a car that is designed to cruise on the interstate (at speeds of 75 miles per hour or more), a different make should be on your list.

I just took one for an over night test drive. I have to say the car looks vary good. And it is comfortable to. It was quiet and well optioned as well. But the 4 cylinder engine is VARY lacking in power. I found my self needing to put my foot fully to the floor every time I wanted to get on a expressway, or pass another car. The trans mission was nice in normal mode, but sport mode was nothing more then it refusing to up shift, and being vary eager to down shift. (I.E It did not feel sporty, it felt confused.) The steering had a nice feel to it. And the car felt vary solid over all. But it also felt vary boring over all. There was really nothing to get exited about. And the dash to me looked vary plain. The touch screen system worked well, but looked like an after thought. As if the car was done and ready for production when at the last second some was told to fit it with a touch screen. It looks odd sticking out of the top of the dash, and with no visor over the screen it washed out in sun light rather easy making it hard to read on a nice bright day. Wearing sunglasses only made the problem worse. Over all it was not a bad car. But it was not a great car ether. Its lack of power, odd touch screen location, and lack of any thing really exciting, or different really made it feel more of an appliance then any thing. The car just lacks soul. I returned it to the dealer and will not be buying one. I was told by the sales manager that the lack of power, and the odd touch screen placement are common complaints. Over all I think this car is well suited to the average commuter. But for me, I want something that is a bit more exciting. Something that is not just nice to drive, but also fun to drive. And the Mazda 6 just was not it. I really feel that Mazda could have done better with this car. I loved my 2006. And with almost 100hp more then the current car, it was a lot more fun to drive!

Owned a 2014 GT and loved it. Been Mazda customers for 10 years having left Honda. The 6 is a great looking car. I great compliments from Lexus, Jag, Audi, etc drivers wanting to know what it is. Leased my 16 GT almost three years ago. Still love the car. The think the power is just fine and if needed I hit the sport button for a little boast as needed. The rear camera is not the greatest and still have difficulty in determining just exact where the car is. Love the radar cruise, but also keep my foot over the brake just in case. It has saved me a couple of times from hitting something in front of me. Like the text feature on entertainment but the GPS is awful. My 14 had real time traffic and would tell you when to change routes. The 16 does not so its not great if you are relying on the time. Also not always the easiest to fine a new place with directory. I got used to the flip up heads up display and love having it in front of me. More than likely I will lease or but the 2018/2019 Mazda 6 depending on pricing. Don't really want a turbo, but the 2018 GT has less options and not real leather. Will most likely go with GT Reserve. Cant go wrong with this car.

Bought this car in 2016 May,GT model. there are already 6500 miles on my car. performance is good, not fuel economic as they said but acceptable. driving in NYC, my MPG is 23.5 average(some local, some highway). on highway it's 28-30 i would say. the car is very stylish, comfortable and sporty. I would like to give 5 stars for this car if i didn't meet these issues. 1. my cars frond hook cover was disappeared after a long way drive, from NYC to Cape code. I t will LOOSE, so if you are reading this, please check it and use double faced adhesive tape to firm it!!!!! The dealer said it's not on warranty and i need to spend $60 for a hook cover with white painting work! I was so upset! so i checked online mazda part sell and the part is only $3, black. so i bought it and i didn't paint it to white i don't really care it looks like but you can image there is a black mole on your white face! 2. your wheel is really ez to get hurt by the curb, please be careful when you parking on the street. 3. i recently found my passenger side front wheel fender is warped up a little bit, not as symmetrical as another side, i swear i never hit anything, and the fender outside is perfect, no scratch!!, i took the car to dealer and their machinist couldnt tell whats really happened this, so they suggest me to w8 their distribution manager to call me back, they will take the car to body shop, if the fender was not damaged, it will be the factory issue, and mazda will pay for it. Now i am still waiting their response. I hope you guys didnt meet these issue and im the only unlucky guy here.

After a 10 day, 2200 mile trip on this 2016 rental car starting at 13,500 miles, I do not understand all the rave reviews. I recommend this car to no one. The designers and engineers were asleep with their responsibility of providing a comfortable, smooth riding and easy to use full size car. A compact Nissan Versa rides as well or perhaps a bit better. Mazda complete black interior design with black buttons makes everything hard to see, especially at night and generally, it cannot be seen then. And some of those switches are so small, you accidentally push something you shouldn't. Absolutely lousy designing! The technology system is very complicated and very little was figured out to even use any of it. Could not even figure out how to select our own radio station or reset trip miles. Worst car of about twenty that I have rented in the past five years. Hope to never get another Mazda again.

The navigation system needed an update after two months, still no real-time traffic alerts, and I-phones don't show e-mails, which seems to be an Apple problem. This is my wife's new car. She was satisfied with her 2009 Nissan Altima, but its CVT transmission's potential reliability issue was enough of a reason to replace it. We looked at plenty of online video reviews, and owning a 2008 Mazda MX-5 were compelling enough reasons to take a test drive. We have no complaints about power, acceleration, road noise or ride quality. We plan on keeping this car for many years, especially since it has a much more reliable real automatic transmission. Fuel economy has been slightly better than the Altima, and the 6 is much more fun to drive. Doing some homework before the purchase helped. The dealer we chose for the test drive and where I bought my Miata wasn't True-Car certified, but honored the price with the presented True-Car printout with additional USAA and Mazda loyalty discount. We passed on the Technology package. There was no need to order exactly what we wanted, since the dealer found what we wanted not far away. She gets plenty of complements on how the car looks, Soul Red with Parchment leather.
