i just drove a wagon 1500 miles on the highway at 80 mph. 25 mpg the whole way. 2.5L. if you goose it a little to get around a semi you are at 100 in no time. Doesn't even feel like it. Fold the back seats down and you can haul all kinds of stuff. Lots of road noise but it has an awesome sound system. turn it up.

A really great option to the garden variety commuter cars despite gas mileage is in the low 20s (partially due to my shift points ;-). It has a very eager, smooth running motor & handles very well on the stock 17" rubber. In wagon format, it really occupies a niche of one (220hp V6, handling biased, manual transmission wagon under $25k). If you don't demand 30mph from a daily driver, the Mazda6 is worth taking a close look.

This thing is a rocket ship. The engine hums at speed. It has a great growl. The bad thing is the split personality. Gently drive this car and you feel like an old person cruizing around. Open the taps on this car and HOLD ON! It just goes. I had a Honda Civic before and this car runs a bit rougher...but this is another species altogether. The only major issue so far has been the drivers door handle which has broken...thanks to some ice and a weak spot....one morning gave it a pull and CRACK! The motor sounds awful when started and then wakes up. Need to get plugs changed... but that is normal. Would buy another.

I have had way too many cars first off. This one ranks in the top 3 or 4. I recently acquired it from my wife a few months ago as we thought she needed a minivan again. This car drives absolutely awesome, a little soft on low rpm power. Handles better than many "sports" cars. Great brakes. Solid quality feel. Loaner car during service is great. I avg 23mph, 27-28 on road trip in the mountains. Bose is great. It just feels right to me.

Rotten egg smell all the time. Filed lemon law. Mazda dealer replaced all four cats. Still stinks. Tried different gas. No difference. Getting rid of this machine. Mazda not cooperating.
