Perfect for Honolulu

2013 Mazda 5 Touring 4dr Minivan (2.5L 4cyl 5A)

Especially for a family of 4; we liked the sliding doors when our children were young and had child seats - easy access. Also, the state department of transportation were narrowing the lanes on the H1 freeway; the vehicle was narrow and fit the lanes perfectly. Also, parking spaces became narrow and it fit nicely into the parking space. Gas mileage was okay for a four cylinder.

Love it, but there is a catch

Bought new in 2015, GT model, sunroof 17" rims etc ,2 kids were smaller could fit all the way in the back with baby seats, 6 of us could travel and be fairly comfortable, great gas mileage and love the way it drives, most reliable vehicle I have owned, 8 years and only replaced; Tires, brakes and wheel bearings. Now the catch(es), loaded but not with much, no GPS (not an issue use phone) no blind spot monitor (I can turn my head may be an issue for some) Kids are older and can fit in middle seats but tight squeeze, what I did was fold the middle seats down and they sit all the way in the back, purchased luggage rack and now they have enough room, other problem, this vehicle is not rated to tow a trailer, not even a pop up trailer. If you are thinking about buying for a small family this vehicle is it, sporty to drive, great on gas easy to park in garage, love it....

Coolest vehicle I ever drove!

The Mazda 5 is a gem of a car or minivan or whatever you want to call it. It looks great especially with the aluminum alloy wheels 17 in. It handles better than any car I've ever been in including Lexus. The 4-cylinder Engine with the 6-speed has all the power You'll Ever Need. The engine is so quiet that sometimes I don't even know it's running and I have to hit the gas pedal to rev it. From the outside you can't hear it running. No vibration, no noise under the hood. And remember I'm driving at 2012 Mazda 5 with 118,000 miles! I'm single and have very few passengers but I like to fish and camp out and it has all the room and cubby holes and little things that you need. The dashboard is like an airplane cockpit with red backlighting at night. The headlights shine for miles. Mazda put together a very well conceived minivan so to speak, and the sliding doors are just icing on the cake.
