Lexus LS is a great car, just a little less so
This is my third Lexus LS. My three priorities for purchasing the LS have been: 1) comfort - a silky smooth ride where you don't even know you're moving unless accelerating or braking; 2) total quiet; and 3) an extraordinary sound system. My fourth reason would be reliability/repairs. Items rarely break in an LS - but when/if it ultimately happens (I kept my last one for 16 years) any repair is expensive. In 2018 Lexus completely redesigned the LS. Although the LS never looked particularly attractive before, the 2018 exterior styling actually was appealing and the interior stunning. However, a big disappointment is the Lexus decision to reduce the comfort of the ride. Lexus has chosen to "have a more road feel for the LS to appeal to younger drivers". I don't understand how feeling the bumps in the road is considered an asset, particularly at this price level. After all the car handles well, even better than before, but it's not a performance car. The Lexus LS remains a dependable car and I enjoy it. But with this price range I am more open to considering a different make next time, particularly if the LS does not restore the comfort ride.

Best Ever
This new 2018 LS 500 is my sixth Lexus, and it is far and away better than any of my previous cars. I was reluctant to buy it because of the negative review by Consumer Reports, but they missed the mark in this newly redesigned gem that is patterned after their new LC 500. I rate it at the highest level.

Another great LS
It is more expensive but this I my fourth LS and they just keep getting better. The depreciation is reasonable and a lot better than a Mercedes, BMW or AUDI. If I were fleeing a gang of criminals, there might be a better car but I do not do that. The reliability of every one of my LS's (2004, 2007, 2013 and now the 2018) has been superb and I value that a lot. I am not that intoxicated by the three pointed star but if I drive 450 miles this car could not be much better and yet every year they improve it. Keep it up Lexus! I have been in Engineering for 45 years and quality of build and reliability are musts. There area lot of great cars out there but you can depend on Lexus and its excellent dealer network. It would be hard for me to go to a different brand. The infotainment system is a bit complicated but if you take a little time you can use it well. The German brands do not perform much if any better and they sure depreciate fast.

LS 500 Lexus
I have a LS 500 with luxury package and the noise from the inside of car was unbearable. Took it to dealership in Houston Sterling McCall Lexus and they informed me that the noise maybe the sunroof and they would need to break it down and charge me 1500 to see the problem. Now that extremely unheard and since it their flagship and with luxury package they should have done it to find out concerns with dual sunroof and the future problem with other models. Also it should be something covered under warranty since it structural concerns and not wear and tear. They refuse to do the job without charging me for the work.
