Extremely Nice Car
This is our 2nd Lexus and cannot say enough about the quality in their vehicles. Car is extremely quiet, comfortable, and solid!! There is so much technology built into this car it is unbelievable! I'm happy to have chosen the Lexus over other available hybrids.
The 2.0 Version
HS250H base model: The car is excellent but at first the fuel economy was not that great with about 32-34 mpg overall. Last February Lexus requested an appointment with a technician who would "work" on the car at my home. Two guys show up with a laptop and sit in the car for about an hour. They connect to the car's computer system and formatted (erased) most of the car's hard drives and loaded new programs. Diving the car afterward was like driving a different car. The engine was tuned better to the driving dynamics and the the fuel economy jumped by 5 mpg. I get 42 mpg on flat highways, 38 - 40 on mountain roads, and 36 - 40 in stop & go driving. It's a great experience.

Good interior but bad quality
Just bought this car less than 3 weeks ago and now I already experienced some problems in the car. Some personnel on the dealership are harsh and told me to comeback if the car reaches 5k miles services before they check or diagnose the problem. Engine vibrates when it is in power mode and doesn't reach 35 mpg average. This is a big mistake for buying this car brand and choosing this dealership.
A disaster for Lexus and for your $$
For this kind of $$ this car lacks a lot: -Practical cabin storage (the Prius is better) -Seat back pockets -Decent brakes -Engine noise refinement -REAL fuel economy that can actually be amortized over the life of the car (unlike the delusional types who are so happy with mid 30s in a $40K car) -Driver engagement (can you say Novocain?) -Steering feel -More effective cooled seats -Drive line refinement (the surging can drive you nuts) Let's see, anything else? Oh yes, styling befitting a Lexus instead of a Corolla w/Premium package. And yes, I've put over 1000 miles on one in a variety of traffic conditions. Lexus sold a grand total of 165 HS250Hs last month; that tell you something?
Excellent car
This is an amazing car. I have not owned a Lexus before but I have friends that drive Lexus. This is one amazing car. Nice comfort, cool looking, very nice gas mileage, fully loaded technology pack. Sound proof and amazing a lot of power considering that it is a compact car.
Less gas is great!
Bought it for my wife. She wanted great MPG and comfort. Replaced Mini Clubman JCW. Maybe not as quick, but more than makes up for it with comfort! GPS and Bluetooth are friendly. Great ride. Enough pep to get on expressway with no trouble. Funky shifter takes a moment to get used to and keyless is a feature my wife loves. No love for the oil companies. Nice that is is not covered with "green" logos too. Third Lexus, and never unhappy with them.
First 300 miles
Just bought it last week and drove the all new hybrid for about 300 miles - city and hwy combined. Very comfy, lot of interior space. Pros: Awesome style inside and out. Cons: Not very powerful, but since it's a hybrid.. can't really ask for more.
After 4 days, I am on my 3rd Jump Start!
This is unreal!! Purchase date Wednesday 8/25/10 car had 94 miles on it. On Sunday 8/29/10 at 9:00 am. I needed my first jump. Had to call road side assistance. At 4:00 pm while at the mall same day, I needed a second jump start. Then only to find that the dealership was not open on Sunday so the car could not be towed. On Monday 8/30/10, Again My brand new car would not start. I then needed a third jump. After complaining to the dealership, they stated they were going to bring me a new battery. They then called back as said no battery was in stock. I am now driving a loaner vehicle. This has been by far the worst car buying experience ever!
One SMART auto
This car is in a class by itself. There is nothing even close to it. I tried the Prius and it struggles to get up to speed with the rest of the pack and its too noisy. The HS250h is quiet, smart, and has all the bells and whistles (and then some) that my GS 300 had. Lexus really thought about what could make this a great car, and they succeeded. For example the NAV screen can tilt in 3 different angles to allow one to read it in the event of glare, so you no longer need to remove your sunglasses to read it. The bluetooth technology is amazing. Talking hands free is like being there in person. The Park button is really cool and different. Overall, this is a great car and the styling is great!
Comfortable ride
This is my third Lexus. Went from 2007 ES 350 to this one. Power feels virtually the same, even though this is a four cylinder. Nav screen is larger and use of mouse if much easier - touch screen not necessary. Blue tooth for phone very clear. Nav. traffic is nice feature. Mileage over 32 for first tank with mostly city driving. Exterior looks nicer in reality than in the ads.
How to combine a hybrid and luxury car
I drove other hybrid sedans before buying this Lexus. It is excellent because it has the fewest trade offs compared to most other hybrids with very comfortable seats front & back, an excellent radio, easy to reach and understand controls, a simple yet informative dash, high seating with good outside views, a luxury level climate system, and 32-38 mpg in most conditions. Acceleration and power are good but more pedal push is needed at times compared to gas cars. Steering is very responsive with good road feedback. I live in the hybrid eco mode with best mpg in normal driving. Power mode uses more gas with faster acceleration and is mostly not needed. Overall, you get what you pay for.
FUN, FUN, FUN
Had it for 4 days and already have 300 miles on it. Very comfortable, fun to drive and darn it that mouse is fun too! Got a great deal $1250 under invoice. I drive 500 miles per week so comfort is important. Very happy with my decision.
FUN, FUN, FUN
Bought it two weeks ago. Have had so much fun driving this car. Got the smoky granite with black interior. Everything but tech package. Getting about 34 mpg - back change over my 2003 4Runner. Got it for $1250 UNDER invoice. Bought the warranty - probably shouldn't have but was told it was refundable if I don't use it.
My Forever Car
After over a decade of ownership, my Lexus HS 250h has proven to be more than just a vehicle; it's become a beloved member of the family. With over 160,000 miles on the odometer, this hybrid sedan has never left me stranded on the side of the road, showcasing an impressive reliability that is hard to come by in today’s automotive world. Unmatched Reliability From the moment I drove my HS 250h off the lot, I’ve been consistently amazed by its performance. With no major repairs needed throughout the years, maintenance has been a breeze—limited to just oil changes and tire rotations. This car has truly been maintenance-free, allowing me to focus on enjoying the journey rather than worrying about the next repair bill. Luxurious Comfort Stepping inside the HS 250h, you’re immediately enveloped in a luxurious atmosphere. The cabin is smooth and quiet, making for a serene driving experience. While it may not be the most powerful vehicle on the market, its gentle acceleration and seamless transitions make every drive a pleasure. Stellar Performance in Any Condition One of the standout aspects of this car has been its ability to handle various weather conditions. From scorching summers to heavy snowfall, this car has never faltered. It provides a sense of security and confidence, ensuring that I reach my destination safely, no matter the challenges posed by the elements. Impressive Fuel Efficiency The HS 250h’s outstanding gas mileage has been another significant benefit over the years. A Family Member for Life The bond I’ve developed with my HS 250h is unique; it feels more like family than just a car. Each journey, whether it be a quick errand or a cross-country trip, has been filled with memories that I cherish. If I could keep this car forever—until its doors would fall off—I would do so without hesitation. In conclusion, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Lexus for creating such a dependable and luxurious vehicle. Too bad, they discontinued this model. The HS 250h has been a constant in my life, a reliable companion through thick and thin. As I look to the future, I can’t help but feel a sense of dread at the thought of replacing it when the day comes for it to retire. For now, I’ll continue to enjoy every moment with my forever car, which has never disappointed me and has always kept me safe on the road.

Try trading in
I purchased hs 250 h last year with a price tag of 45,000.I am not totally happy with the ride,so I looked into upgrading to GS or RX.I was offered 25,000 as trade in value for a car with 17,800.This is not the value I expected from a Lexus.
Needs a better design.
Nice car but for my money, I wish I would have looked around. The car is a pleasure to drive but I would not call it a Lexus. Reminds me of a Corolla from the outside. When i first approached the car, I thought that it was a Corolla. The best part of the car seems to be the inside. There is NO WAY that this car is worth the $40K sticker that Lexus is asking for.
More Style and Comfort than a Prius
Car had wind noise that was corrected by the dealer. Smooth but firm ride quality on highway.

Great Value Package
I've had the car for three weeks and its awesome!!! The car handles very well for a hybrid but it would be nice to have the option for more zip in acceleration in exchange for a few less MPG's. The suspension is a little soft and the driving experience could improve if the suspension were sportier-maybe similar to the IS. I have the HS Premium with navigation and the gadget loaded interior quickly makes you forget the drive-train and truly enjoy each drive.
HS250 Blinker low sound
Have had the car for three days and am annoyed that the blinker has hardly any sound. Is this true of other owners? Dealer has said it can't be made louder, yet in our other non hybrid Lexus, it is quite loud. We love the Lexus line and this is our third Lexus. Car does need more storage, but we'll manage.
Enjoying it more and more each day
I've had my HS(with navigation/backup camera) for just over a month now. Really enjoying all of the tech and the luxury features I missed on my 08 Accord - like the reverse down mirrors and backup camera. Some like it and some don't, but I really like the look and style of it. I have got 3 compliments and several "look at that new Lexus". I am getting on average 35.3 mpg, just as promised. I'm glad I switched to the only dedicated lux hybrid in the market.
Nice car good gas Mileage
Had this car for 2.5 months for now. got 3500 miles on it. 36 miles per gallon. Like the built in navigation system with all the additional features it has its like a mini computer .
Fantastic car!
This car drives great. Really moves when you need it to. All Lexus inside. Its very comfortable. It's the best car we have ever had!
Exciting new car
Just got this car and love it. The technology is unbelievable. Drives great, lots of power for a hybrid. I moved from a BMW to Lexus, so much more for the money. Look forward to driving it for many years to come.
Where is the 35MPG touted?
Just been driving this car for 300 miles and have yet to see 35MPG. CVT is really noisy as you accelerate and not so smooth. The layout in ES350 is much better. There are missing buttons like AUDIO etc. No touch screen.
