Bad Quality, Bad Service and the Warranty Stinks
We paid well over $50K for this vehicle. The first time that we took it to the TOUCHLESS car wash that we have been using for years, a piece of trim fell off when the blowers were drying it. Then Kia refused to repair it! We literally had the car for about 2 weeks when the trim fell off. It was six weeks before the dealer had an available appointment. When we took it in, the service rep called and told us that Kia wouldn't cover the damage, and to come get our car. She would not provide an explanation why it was not covered. We then opened a claim with Kia, which they said would be resolved within 48 hours. 48 hours later, we had heard nothing so we called. Customer rep said that our warranty case rep was unavailable, but that the claim had been denied because "it looks like you removed it yourself." Why would we do that?!?! She said the rep would call me. No one called. Instead, we received an email saying that our claim was "outside of the warranty." In my opinion, they are building these things too hastily in an effort to meet demand, and the result is a bad product with no service to back it up. We bought this in part because every review said the Telluride was essentially a luxury vehicle at a much lower price point. We have learned the hard way that you get what you pay for, both in quality and service. STAY AWAY!!! If we had to do it over, we'd either get a Toyota or Honda at this price point, or get an actual luxury car. Huge mistake.
Why did I ever buy a 2024 Telluride
My 2024 Telluride with less than 20,000 miles has already been to service for major issues multiple times. All the displays black out, intermittent loss of power, gas gauge does not work just shows dashes even on a full tank and 3 out of 5 times it will not start and has to be jump started. Dealership claims my car has a ghost but they are unable to repair it.

SAFETY issues, slow pickup and uncomfortable
Has 11K miles on it and has 3 recalls already. One for the drivers seat possibly catching fire and warned not to park in a garage attached to a house. One for the car taking itself out of park when it's not even on!

Don't Do It!!!
This is my 3rd Telluride, I love the vehicle. The quality.... thats a different story. There is a huge difference in quality from 2020 to 2024. Let me begin: 1. Windshield: A rock hitting it and a small chip is understandable. Watching a small chip turn in to a crack from one end of the windshield to the other is not acceptable. This has happened to all three Tellurides I have owned and Kia takes no responsibility. Common problem. 2. Recalls: Why do I have to worry about my car catching fire from the drivers side seat motor? Why is there a possibility for my vehicle to shift into gear from park even if the vehicle is not on? Why is the trim around my windows flapping in the wind? Make an appointment they say. Appointment made....47 days away. So it's okay to force me to park my vehicle outside for a potential fire and hope my vehicle doesn't roll away for 47 days. The trim, I've been waiting for that over 4 months, we'll before it was a recall. The parking fix was to do a software update that puts the emergency brake on automatically when you park and it turns off automatically when put into gear. 3. Brake assist: I think I got whiplash from the break assist activating while I was backing up. May I mention there was absolutely nothing behind me. Common problem. Some people say it's happened to them while driving on the highway. Fuel Gauge: I'm still trying to figure this one out. Do I have gas or not. Warning says gas critically low, gas gauge looks as if I'm bone dry, distance until empty say 219. Driver Assist: Will get a warning, while driving, saying 3 different safety feature functions are limited because the camera is obscured. I guess something obscures all the cameras at the same time and it magically clears from all the cameras at the same time, 2 minutes later. Like I said, I love the vehicle, I love the space, I love the features, amenities and gadgets and that's where it ends. I never owned a Kia and never would have even considered buying one but I did because I have 2 toddlers in car seats and it offers everything I needed. Risking the safety of my family should be the last thing I have to worry about, especially from a vehicle that is at the top of all SUV safety rankings. They miss a key component in their reviews, real customer feedback. A vehicles breaks locking up while driving on a highway for no reason can cause accidents. Trim flapping in the wind can fly off. Drivers seat catching fire???? Car shifting in to drive while it's off??? I'm sorry, these things make this vehicle the worst vehicle as far as safety is concerned. It's gotta go!!!!

Know Condenser Design Fault Issues!!
I purchased a 2024 Kia Telluride less than 3 weeks ago, the AC failed due to road debris damage. There is no protection for the condenser! The will not fix it with the cars bumper to bumper warranty. Also they are unable to provide a loaner car. This is an $1800-$2600 repair. Total scam. Do Not Buy this car or be prepared to get burned. This is a hazard to my young children.

Gasoline Sensor Failed -Wow!
I bought my Kia Telluride in late March based on reviews after driving a Palisade for 4 years. It now has 1196 miles on the odometer (5/16/2024). A couple of weeks ago I had filled the gas tank when, in the morning two days later, I started the engine and received a warning that the fuel level was dangerously low and I should look for a gas station immediately. Since I had only driven home from the gas station and had not driven it afterwards, I thought that somehow the gasoline had been stolen overnight. Not seeing any damage to the gas cap cover, I figured that somehow the tank had been penetrated and the gasoline stolen. I then drove to the nearest gas station and filled the tank with 4.7 gallons of gasoline and the gas gauge showed full. What the ----? I immediately drove to my dealer service department, reported the issue and a gasoline sensor was ordered. I then made an appt. to have it installed. The service was great, the dealer paid for a Lyft to my home and back to the dealer and my Telluride was washed. What is bothersome is that the sensor failed with less than 1000 miles on the car. This should not have happened to this top-of-the-line Telluride. After reading a number of reviews on this website, I am thinking that I should have done a lot more research before buying.

What a fun beauty!
Just leased my first Telluride and I’m coming out of my second Jaguar F-Pace. Although I loved my Jaguars, they haven’t changed and aren’t keeping up with the wonderful technology I was seeking. The Telluride is amazing with great technology, more horsepower than my F-Pace!, and a quiet, comfortable ride. The interior is nicely designed, seats are heated/cooled, and the doors are beautifully lit at night. The sound system delivers well with great surround sound. The performance is surprisingly sporty and fun to drive.

A good choice, not a perfect vehicle
I have had a 2024 for 5 months and really like it. Solid, comfortable, roomy. There have been a couple of minor recalls that were easily addressed, about the same as my last car, a Honda. I wish the gas mileage was better, but it is OK for a 6 cylinder engine that can tow 500 pounds or more: 22-23 in the city, 27-28 highway. I see the complaints and I am sure that some people have them but reliability (according to a variety of sources) is pretty good, better than Ford or GM, not quite Toyota level.

2024 telluride No
I purchased a new 2024 Telluride with in a week my infotainment screen would be blank when started which meant you have no back up cameras and can't change your radio the dealer told me there is a small reset hole which you can stick a pen in to reset your screen but at 60,000 you shouldn't have to reset the screen been in the shop 5 times to fix at one point they said the wires were crossed this didn't work had to wait 2 months for corporate to approve new unit installation. Then went through the local touch less car wash and all my door trim started blowing off the dealer tried re-glue back on which did not work after a few more washes all the trim was flapping in the wind had to used good old duct tape hold temporarily while I'm waiting for new trim on back order. This problem is now a recall issue. Then I had pink liquid puddles on my new concrete driveway that ended up being a radiator hose fitting leak which they fixed. Also my music station and seats were changed when I went to start the vehicle I believe they have a computer problem with this vehicle. You have a lock and unlock buttons in door but they do not work when you want to leave the vehicle and lock you doors you have use the door handle why have the buttons. The gas mileage is absolutely terrible approximately 16 miles to a gallon. Also on the screen it will show your availability gas mileage the screen will show say 24 miles per and suddenly change 12 for example the average cannot drop like that if you have say 6,000 miles thats not possible this happens often. Just waiting to get fixed so I trade this in on another vehicle which will cost you thousands. My trim level is an x pro with a towing package. DO NOT BUY!

A LUXURIOUS RIDE
I have a SX X-Line and it's been better than advertised. Beautiful interior, smooth ride, wonderfully practical features (surround view camera, heated & cooled seats, blind spot camera, an AWD switch, etc). The ride is smooth and the X-line has 8.4 inches of ground clearance so you get a great view from the driver's seat and can move confidently during heavy rain / snow. Considered the VW Atlas & Honda Pilot. Glad I didn't compromise. In-person this looks better and if you're online you know it rates better everywhere.

Telluride 2024
Bought 2024 brand new EX Telluride. First month, dash went black. Immediately took it to Kia dealership and they told me it is OK for me to drive it because they don't have any appts for a week. That means, can't see gas mileage, warning lights, speed, etc. Finally got that fixed after a few weeks. Next, check engine light on and off. Taken it several times. Code shows misfire. They say there is bad gas. I get gas at Costco. They told me I can only get gas at chevron or Shell. What the? Had recall for seat lever. Had to park away from house due to fir Hazzard. Took forever to get notice so I could make appt to get fixed. Got my car back and they did not put the seat back together correctly so plastic piece was hanging off seat and rattling. Had to make another appt in a week to get that addressed. They had my car on and off for a week to tell me I had bad gas in car. I had no other car to use. They said if check engine light comes back on, then fuel injectors need to be replaced. Car now has 11,000 miles. Haven't even had it a year. Had a toyota highlander for 6 years, 99,000 miles and never had 1 issue with it. Wish I kept that car.
Customer Services sucks
Three weeks after I bought the car, I discovered that the hood's heat shield was severely damaged. Neither the dealer, nor Kia customer services accepted to fix it. Both said it was "cosmetic damage," probably caused by a rodent. Therefore, it wasn't covered by the warranty. I spent 50k+ on the car. I am pissed.

Too Many Trim Lines and Lack of Standard Features
Our vehicle (not a Kia) was totaled and we had a week to figure out which Telluride to go with once we decided we liked the model. Frankly, Kia has far too many trim lines that makes it incredibly difficult for the consumer to compare and contrast. We thought the EX AWD would fit the bill however features you would expect to be standard among any of the trims are not. There are nuances that no consumer could possibly know until they spend significant time inside the car messing around with the features to realize that what you see online and in their manuals don't apply to this model. If you are looking for a Telluride, opt for the SX trim line or above because it seems most of the major reviews online are based on the SX lines. Kia failed to make certain features standard across the trim lines that one would expect especially since it would more than likely reduce their manufacturing costs. Here are some of the major nuances that we did not know when we purchased the EX trim line. No garage door opener built into the rear view mirror. You can purchase one for $500 plus install. The cluster dash does not have an option to change the view to the round MPH and RPM view. It's a clunky and cheap looking number display. Remote start with this is only available via the Kia Connect App versus the Key FOB. The App requires an annual subscription of $100 plus. Door handles are not a touch and open/lock. You have to push a button on the handle to lock and unlock. Don't get me wrong its a nice looking and driving SUV. We've had it for 4 days. But I feel a bit duped, misled, and frustrated they make it such a difficult SUV to wrap your head around. I mean, how can you offer heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel and not offer a rear view mirror with a garage door opener or a way to change the dash view?!

What a great car-great looking, too
We’ve had it for 3 months and, so far, this is the best car we have ever owned. It has so many top of the line features and gizmos that we are discovering new ones almost every time we drive it. The V6 is very quiet and responsive and, for a car this large and heavy, the gas mileage is reasonable. The stop/start feature is jerky and annoying, but easily defeated with the 10 minute installation of an Autostop. I like the fact that, unlike many cars in its class, it doesn’t have a tiny 4 cylinder with a turbocharger strapped on to it. Because they operate using exhaust gases, turbos get extremely hot and the engine oil passes through it, deteriorating the oil that lubricates the vitals of the engine. One feature of the Honda Pilot that was a deal breaker for me is their cylinder deactivation system. Several years ago before the system was fully thought out, it was installed and sold to the unsuspecting public and caused lots of problems. They’ve retweaked it several times, but the concept is problematic. I had a Pontiac V8 a few years back with the same system, and reports of excessive oil usage were legion. It was worrisome enough that I easily defeated the system with an ECM reflash, which cannot be done on the Honda. If not for that, we may have bought the Honda instead. The lengths that manufacturers are having to take to get an additional half a mile per gallon because of the unrealistic CAFE requirements are ridiculous. This is one really great car.

A little over priced
The trim level we desired was the SX Prestige X-line because of the HUD but it going to cost about $60K with taxes and all. Looked at stepping back to the SX X-Line but it's only about $2K less. Consider instead the Hyundai Palisade which is essentially the same vehicle. HUD is included in the limited edition and it doesn't have those ugly black painted wheels. Also the Palisade Limited has features not offered on the Telluride such as auto dimming side view mirrors, and power folding and heated 3rd row seats for $7-8K less.

Love my telluride!!
I have had my telluride a little over 2 weeks and I have fallen in love with it. It's honestly my favorite car I have ever owned. My 160lb Cane Corso has lots of room in the cargo area which was the reason for buying this vehicle. Highly recommend!!

Telluride complaints
I drove a Honda Pilot for 8 years. Wanted a newer and sleek body style, so I bought a Telluride. Sadly, I didn't drive it on a freeway or keep overnight for some extra time in the vehicle. It has a bumpy ride and lots of road noise. The seat belt strap is very far back on the car door and extremely hard to reach. I can't just reach and grab it, without turning my entire body to grab it. Then when seatbelt is on, it rubs my neck. I'm 5' 2" and it cant be adjusted better. Only two drink holders in the front. The Pilot has 4. More cubby holders would be better. Love the Captain Chairs in second row and love the lowered area behind the third row seat, for cooler, grocery items to sit & not fall over, etc.
Telluride can't tow
I hate the car The dealership lied about the availability of a trailer hitch and even though I paid for the towing package the wiring harness is still an additional installation and cost. If and when you can get one.
What's not to like?
Good power, solid build, quiet ride and amazing interior, you would be hard pressed to find a 3 row SUV with the features the 2024 KIA Telluride offers. My only minor complaint would be the less than stellar gas mileage. .

Acceleration and power are lacking.
It’s certainly a nice car, but the power and acceleration are certainly lacking. Also the gas mileage is pretty horrible. I have been averaging 17 in the city and 20 on the highway. My Silverado with the 6.2l engine gets better mileage, which is shocking. All in all, a very nice vehicle, but probably wont be keeping it very long due to the overall power train and mileage performance,

Great Ride
I've had my Telluride almost a year. Still love it as much as the day I bought it. I travel a lot and drive many different rental SUVs. Ive always liked the Telluride and last year I had a chance to rent one for 11 days. I drove it about 1500 miles (city, highway, mountains) and found it to be one of the most comfortable cars ever. I typically have back problems on long drives. When driving the Telluride I had no back pain or soreness. When I needed a larger car to accommodate 2 car seats and all the goes with 2 kids the Telluride was a clear choice. Our other car is a Genesis GV70 and the Telluride is more comfortable and enjoyable to drive. Fuel economy isn't great but everything else is. Highly recommend the Telluride if you are looking for a comfortable and affordable mid size SUV.

SX Prestige most uncomfortable seat ever
I have less than 1,000 miles on my 2024 SX Prestige. I'm considering getting rid of it as the driver seat is like sitting on a 2x4. I have ordered (and returned) several seat cushions on Amazon trying to make it better... but nothing helps. This may be unique to the SX with the ventilated seats as I have a friend with a lower model that doesn't complain. Make certain the seat is comfortable!

Not what was expected!
Vehicle has a Smart Cruise Control which can not be turned off, permanently. Can not know, if the vehicle started while utilizing the remote start or the doors are locked.
Navigation sucks!
I bought my first Kia, a fully loaded 2024 Telluride, and I will never buy one again. Or a Hyundai, which I’ve owned two. They contract out their navigation system, and it is garbage. On a road trip I tried to navigate to home and the system sent me 9 hours out of the way. I called to complain and I was forwarded to their navigation system contractor who said I needed an update, which they would charge me for. I bought a memory stick and downloaded the update, successfully. It still sends me in the wrong direction. Kia and Hyundai use the same company, so I will never buy from them again.

KIA Telluride Lemon
Our 2024 Telluride (at 2800 miles): Had problems soon after getting it. Had to buy a battery jump device as it was failing to start without a jump. First time in KIA service garage they could find nothing, yet problem continued. Service finally replaced the battery and car worked for a couple of months. Have had to tow this lemon in five times now in the February 2024 to February 2025 period. Have had the car in the KIA garage in total approximately seven weeks now and still not fixed according to service. KIA’s own service records document this. Problem is intermittent. The car starts behaving for a time after service tells us it is fixed, or that after weeks there, they can’t find anything to fix. A car that you can’t rely on to do groceries or go to the library is worthless. We know by now we can’t trust it for any trips. Not acceptable. We ended up with a lemon by most any measure. Beautiful car, when it works! Greg Starkey [contact info removed]
