My car is 2 months old and the air started blowing hot.Brought it in to dealer and first thing out of service techs mouth was oh a rock must of hit your condenser. Then comes to tell me yah it was a rock and your warranty doesn't cover that. Then go to read 30 other reviews of the same issue and how they were told to make a claim with their insurance and just pay the deductible to get it fixed..Wow same exact thing I was told! There's no way me and 30 plus other kia telluride owners all have the same issue and here about a rock hitting the condenser before even being looked at!!Kia knows this is a issue and Shame on them!!!

2020 Kia Telluride SX. Being long time satisfied Toyota owners, we decided to take the leap. For 3 months, everything was great and then we noticed revving and not wanting to accelerate. After multiple trips to the dealership, the transmission was replaced. This fall when the weather cooled down the heater would not get more than Luke warm. The dealership said this was normal. Everyone complained how cold they were, so it is definitely not normal. I then noticed the screen kept flickering on and off and had to pull off to the side of the road when my engine stalled and the screen flashed. The car was towed back to the dealership and they replaced an electrical component that went bad. After getting the vehicle back, I noticed the leather stitching in the seats was starting to unravel. The next week, I traded it in on another Toyota Highlander Hybrid and am thrilled so far. I loved the Tellrude when everything was working, but after all the issues, I could not trust the vehicle anymore. I am very disappointed in Kia.

Kia Telluride

My Kia Tellude after 17,000 miles started randomly slaming on breaks with no cars in front of vehicle. We have had it in Kia dealership for 4 weeks and they have no idea how to fix it. They said they had 3 other Telluride doing same thing. Will never buy another Kia. Sad thing is it will take someone being killed in the car to get recalls. But it won't be my family selling ASAP.

I love this car. The only problem is an electrical issue that the dealer has not been able to fix. When the car sits for more than 3 days, it does not start. It has been at the dealer twice and is currently there since 12/9. They have replaced parts in the door but it still has an issue

Battery dead after a day and a half

I purchased this SX Telluride October 2019. The battery died 4 times, the first time was March 3rd, May 6th, August 10th and September 8th. I took the vehicle to the Dealership 3 times and the last time I took it in they kept it for 5 days. On September 16th the day I picked it up, the dealership told me they could not find a problem with the battery and charged me $75.00 for checking all the vehicles systems. Now it is September 27 2020 and the vehicle will not start nor will any of the interior lights come on! THIS vehicle a LEMON!!! and I am reaching out Monday Morning to every Governmental agency I can find to get rid of this vehicle Chicago,IL 60622

Nice SUV with way too many problems

We really like the Telluride, however, ours has been riddled with problems since the second month of ownership (build date is 01/2020). I won’t get into the details of all the issues as a simple google search or look at Telluride forums mirrors most of the problems we have. All speaks to the dismal quality, it all looks nice but underneath it’s junk. Our number one issue is a driveline vibration that is not always apparent making it very difficult to repair. We’ve had new torque converter, driveshafts, hubs, and even tire to no avail. Also, dealer service absolutely sucks. I really miss owning a Toyota.

Best Car I Have Ever Owned....Period

Smo77, 12/23/2019
2020 Kia Telluride S 4dr SUV AWD (3.8L 6cyl 8A)

I have owned my Kia Telluride S-Trim for about 6 months now and have put on 11K miles. The Telluride is easily the nicest driving and best vehicle I have ever owned. I still look forward to getting behind the wheel every day. The drive is just that enjoyable. For one, it's amazingly quiet for a vehicle that is propelled by a 6 cyl., 291hp engine. Not to say that I can't hear the rev of the engine upon acceleration or the hum of the pistons firing while cruising along at highway speeds, but it is all just background noise and just adds to the enjoyable experience. Even the wind is cut down to the point that I can't hear it with the radio set to a fairly quiet level. In addition, the car somehow absorbs much of the road so that when I do feel a small imperfection while moving along, it is easily the exception and not the rule. I think much of the ride is also complimented by the tight steering and just the feel of the steering wheel itself. Whoever designed the wheel did a wonderful job creating ergonomically correct contours wrapped in "leather." Combined, they give the driver a wonderfully luxurious feel that really is not easily surpassed. It's a great ride. I chose the S-trim for several different reasons. One, the 20" wheels are stunning at this level. In my opinion, they are better than the EX or the blackened SX trims. In addition, the S-trim comes with captains chairs in the second row, a feature that seems more upscale to me in an SUV than the basic bench seat that is standard on the EX. The standard suite of technology that comes on all Tellurides is very impressive, and all of it works very well, but not perfectly. The lane keep assist is great for those people who can handle the subtle shifts left or right when the vehicle gets a little too close to a yellow or white line. For me, however, I had to turn it off. Thank you, Kia, for giving me that option. In addition, the Idle Stop/Go feature, that is supposed to save gas, is great for those drivers who can adapt to the engine turning off then back on only moments later. For me, I gave it about 5 months and 10K miles, I just couldn't get used to it. There are certain parameters that need to be met for it to activate, too many to list, however, it does still seem to be so random that I found myself asking why did it activate (or not) at certain times and not others. In addition, in the heat of the summer, when the Idle Stop/Go was activated, the A/C turned very warm. Not a great thing if you are in traffic on a super hot day. I wish the default setting was off, not on, but that is a government thing....not Kia thing. The forward collision warning system is great too, but a little too sensitive. I have experienced a number of occasions when it chimed thinking that I was about to hit a car in front of me, when, at least to me, there was no danger. It is a fairly large SUV with 2 fairly large blind spots on either side, so the blind spot warning system is fantastic and has definitely warned me from making a potentially big mistake. And lastly, the automatic cruise control is unbelievably precise in both staying true to the lane and keeping a good distance from the car in front. It does tend to hit the brake a little rough, and I have noticed that it tends to hug the left side of the road a bit close, but it has never failed to stay in the lane, even around S-curves. It's very impressive. The only other knock against it at this trim level is that once the car comes to a complete stop, the driver needs to press a button on the wheel or the accelerator lightly, for it to engage again. Another standard advanced technology system are the different driving modes: Eco, Smart, Comfort, and Sport. With the exception of Sport mode, I have driven several thousand miles in each of them, and have settled on Comfort mode...at least for now. The difference in fuel economy is negligible, and, well, to be honest, if I was concerned about fuel economy I wouldn't have bought a medium/large SUV. With that said, currently I'm getting a combined 23mpg. That's overall and according to the computer and using the different driving modes. Your mileage will vary. A few last thoughts. The cabin has a great comfort to it. I find the seats very comfortable on long drives and the infotainment system is super easy to figure out and use while driving. It's definitely one of the better systems available today. Getting into the 3rd row is easily done with the pull of a lever. There's not a ton of room back there, but my 5'7" wife and son have sat back there several times without complaint, although the 2nd row was moved up a bit to accommodate them, but this was done easily and without sacrificing comfort to those sitting in the 2nd row.

I got this Telluride 3 days ago and I am blown away by it. Kia has done a fantastic job in designing and engineering this vehicle. We test drove a Lexus RX350 before deciding on this. I am more happy with this than would have been with the RX350. The RX had a better interior but overall the Telluride is much nicer in ride, handling, smoothness, space and features. The RX350 looks like it had too much plastic surgery. We also have a 2018 Toyota Highlander LE AWD that does not have all the bells and whistles but is a fairly decent vehicle. If you compare the Telluride to the Highlander, the Telluride just blows away the Highlander in every aspect. This is coming from a person who has owned 8 Toyotas in the last 30 years. We had a 2016 Sorento before this and were completely satisfied with the quality and performance. I was impressed with the Telluride when it came out as a concept in 2016 and was following it since then. I was a little sad that they redesigned the front grille but they did a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make this an awesome vehicle. This is a true luxury car for thousands less than the competition. It is a wake up call for the competitors. I don't think there is a better value proposition on the market in this segment. The only minor thing I found was the EX version does not have homelink. It is not a big deal but for a car costing $40K, that should come standard. Overall, a fantastic vehicle! UPDATE After 7 months: I wrote my first review after having it only for three days. Now that we have had the vehicle for 7 months, I am going to give an update. The vehicle performs very well, ride is very smooth, comfortable and quiet. Interior is very spacious, It’s easy to get in and get out. There’s a lot of headroom. The.. The electronics and the navigation work very well together. There are no bugs. Currently I have a lease and this is one car that I really want to buy. We took it to long trips and it did not feel tiring, I would say this is better than a lot of other luxury vehicles. I rented a Range Rover sport for a few days when I went out of town, the Telluride was a lot better. I believe this can stand on its own against any other luxury SUV in its class. A lot of people still do not know about the Telluride.

Its like a dessert ... something to be enjoyed.

For me, specs, cargo space, features, etc. do not matter if the vehicle does not drive well....so let's start there. The Telluride is a smooth, enjoyable ride. I've had my Telluride for 6+ weeks and every time I drive it, I feel relaxed. This is true whether I'm driving in comfort mode or zipping through traffic in sport mode. For those who have been critical of the Telluride's acceleration, two things....first, its a 3 row SUV and it does not come with a hemi engine. What were you expecting? … second, switch the driving mode to "sport" and there is plenty of acceleration (no, its still not a hemi....but you get much better gas mileage ;) ). There are times I like to zip around and the sport mode sufficiently allows me that guilty pleasure. Speaking of acceleration, a co-worker has a supped up Dodge Durango with hemi engine. She offered to race me one day. I said "no thanks," but she still wanted to show off so she kicked in the hemi and took off. I called her and said "I think you just burned a gallon of gas over that half mile." She said "my car ate yours for lunch." I told her "keep your lunch. My car is more like a dessert." I truly believe that … the Telluride is something to be enjoyed. So, anyway, if you want power and incredible acceleration, go get a Dodge with a hemi engine. If you want something that is a pleasure to drive...try the Telluride. I like the responsiveness of the steering and the turning radius of the Telluride. Comfort is also important. My teenage kids went with me to test drive the Telluride. They were first to notice that the leather seats in the EX felt noticeably more comfortable, and more supportive, than the pleather seats in the LX and S models. After they mentioned this, I spent a little more time in both types of seats to get a feel for them … and I also noticed that the leather seats were more supportive and comfortable. (note: I did not try an SX model with prestige package, so I cannot compare the leather seats in my EX to the napa leather seats in SX prestige). My parents have driven my Telluride and I took an opportunity to sit in the second row to test it out. The second row was comfortable and the ride quality was just as good in the second row as in the first row … which was excellent. Features....As many reviewers have noted, the Telluride offers a lot of features for the price...as compared with other vehicles in the midsize SUV segment (and even as compared with some midsize SUVs costing quite a bit more). My favorite feature is the ventilated front seats. I live in Florida and its summer … so that's an awesome feature. The infotainment system is fairly easy to use … and its nice to have both a touchscreen and buttons. The safety features are super nice. The blind spot detection is my favorite safety feature. In cruise control, the Telluride will drive itself. I tried this feature on a mostly empty highway and the Telluride executed an S curve without me touching the steering wheel. Admittedly, this freaked me out a bit and I do like to have control of the steering wheel while driving … but its still cool that the Telluride lane keeping control while in cruise control is this advanced. Turning on adaptive cruise control works as well....my car slowed down and sped up, as needed, without me touching a pedal while using adaptive cruise control. Speaking of features, the intercom feature is fun....not necessary, but fun. The AC works well in all rows and there are plenty of USB ports for everyone to use a gadget during the ride. Gas mileage has been good. I think the on-board computer somewhat exaggerates gas mileage so I tracked it myself over the last 4 fill-ups. In the first two of those fill-ups that involved mostly city driving, I recorded 24.5 and 22.1 mpg. In the two most recent fill-ups that involved mostly highway driving, I recorded 27.5 and 25.9 mpg. I believe the lower numbers in both sets of mpg reflect my use of sport mode a little more often than comfort mode during those tanks. As mentioned above, you don't get the acceleration of a Dodge with hemi engine … but you're also not burning a gallon of gas every time you kick in the hemi engine. I'm happy with the gas mileage thus far.

I purchased the Telluride EX in dark moss with grey interior with the towing package after a "chance" visit to a Kia dealership with my husband who had to convince me to go to see it (I never thought I would buy a Kia). I have about 1000 miles on it so far and I am so impressed with the car's value, quality and handling. For comparison, we considered Subaru, Honda, Jeep, Hyundai, Volvo, and Nissans. We thought the Telluride handled better than any of them hands down, and within a half hour I found myself picking colors and trims! For trim packages I considered the SX but opted for the EX AWD because I wanted the bench seat layout & 18 inch wheels. As a nurse, I need to get to work in the snow so I needed the AWD. 95% Of the time we will never use the third row, but with the last row of seats folded down we will use the cargo space a lot. We also didn't want a second row sun-roof since it is never used because it interferes with visibility (glare) on the screens that keep my teens occupied. I also wanted to have the heated/ cooled seats, and heated steering wheel which the EX had. Pros: Gas mileage- we just drove from NY to MD & back and averaged 31 mpg on the hwy! Safety features are incredible; with the lane assist and cruise control settings the car can practically drive itself. The dark moss with grey is stunning (I was lucky to find this color as hear it is hard to get). Interior design is beautiful & easy to figure out. The Interior legroom in the second row is tremendous & the kids are more than comfortable. Cons: I am a short driver at 5'2" and I find it a bit difficult to get into a comfortable seat position. The highest seat position still feels low, and the arm rests are too far away to use at all which can be annoying on long drives. The lumbar support does not raise up or down on the EX so it's too high for my frame and presses on the thoracic part of the back rather than lumbar. I was not able to test drive and EX (the dealer only had an S in stock when we went), so I didn't realize this would be an issue. Also, the stitching on the steering wheel is sharp to the touch which is irritating. The EX did not come with a Homelink rear-view mirror which I didn't think about because I just expected it would have that. I am just getting that aftermarket though so no big deal. With these minor complaints, the car itself surpasses our expectations. At a price of about 7-10k less than some of the competitors would have been with the same options and better warranties, this was a great investment! Update 11/2020, have owned for 19 months now, and have 18k miles on it. The car itself has been great and the only thing I have done is oil changes. I seem to have been lucky to purchase the car for what I did at the time since it is going for over MSRP now. My only real issue is not with the car but with the UVO app which after the first year you must pay $30/ month for. It is slow, barely connects, and is the only way to use the installed remote start feature. When I inquired with KIA about why the app does not work well I was told that the app and car operate on Verizon and unless I have Verizon (I do not), there would be slow downs and glitches (?????). Using remote start, when you open the app after about 30 seconds of spinning wheels, it may or may not take you to the screen to turn the car on. You then have to "lock" the already locked doors which can take upwards of 5 minutes. Then select start, which can also take as long. By the time the car starts you are ready to get into it. This is "if" it connects to the car. Living in the NY metro area, cell phone coverage is not the problem as they make it out to be. I also refuse to pay $30/ month for a function I have already paid for when I purchased the car. I have an appointment to have a "real" remote start installed in about 2 weeks. Very disappointing. My only other issue is that the wireless phone charging is too narrow to fit a good-sized phone. Most newer phones are on the larger size and they are too long to lay flat in the spot built for it.

Tired of getting wet

I have had my 2020 Kua Telluride for 9 months and have always had a problem with the front driver and passenger windows bouncing back down after I roll them up. 5 months ago I took my kia into the dealership where i purchased it to have this problem fixed. I was told that they would have to get back to me. That was 5 months ago. I finally called them today and the service person told me that cant be expected to keep track of each and every car that come through there. WHAT? Isnt that his job? I'm tired of getting wet when it starts raining and my window wont stay up because the glass is so thin that the wind blows it out to the point that it wont line up on the track unless I slow down to about 60 on the highway. I am also not happy about the fact that we were not told about the monthly fees for the UVO. I found out about that by accident and not from the dealership. My boss at work told me about it. When I asked the salesman that sold me the car he said that he told us but no he did not. I have owned many cars over the past 48 years and I have never had the windows bounce back open after I roll them up. Let's see how long it takes him to get back to me this time.

Very Good SUV but Dealership was sketchy

We have leased our Telluride for a few months now and have about 7k miles on it now. I have to say it is a very nice SUV and drives nice. We drove it from Chicago to Florida in the summer with our kids and it was one of the best drives with the adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and great gas mileage. Our previous truck was a GMC Yukon XL and we don’t miss it. We leased it because the dealership was trying to mark up the price on the only one they had when we tried to buy it. Do your research before going into the dealer. Go on the Kia website and make sure you know the deals. Kia has lease deals with set monthly payments and down payments so you know what you should be paying. Dealer was trying to push a $450 payment plus money down for the lease. I asked them to pull the Kia website up and look at the lease deals for the same model they had. They tried to tell me they can’t lease it for that and I asked them to call Kia corporate to discuss why. They ended back tracking and we made the lease for $329 and $3500 down as the website stated. This is our second Kia in the garage and we enjoy both of them. Shop around for a dealer you can work with or contact Kia Corporate to assist. Don’t let the dealerships rip you off and it’s a shame all manufacturers allows them to do that. Kia has come a long way with their vehicles and they have a great warranty that we have not had to use yet. Try them out for yourself and you won’t be disappointed.

2020 Kia Telluride SX AWD. I loved this car: drive, value, safety, looks, price for the first 2 months, then the issues started. I noticed yesterday the stitching in the seat is coming apart, the transmission shifts down abruptly when coasting to a stop. I have started to see the tech screens go gray briefly and are becoming glitchy. I am taking it in to the service department and we will see what they say. This is very disappointing in a new vehicle. I am second guessing my decision to purchase this over the reliable Toyota Highlander. I’m glad it has a great warrantee, because I get the feeling I am going to need it.

I really enjoy my Telluride. I brought it July 2019. However I was to take it in for it’s first maintenance and it would not start. The battery was totally dead. Had to jump it off. As I was heading to the dealership the speedometer didn’t work. The service department found no problems or system error. I’m a little concerned. I’ll see what happens

Update: 55k miles on it and still love it! Haven’t had any issues. I have 8k miles on my Telluride so far with no problems. People ask me about it almost daily! It is a smooth, comfortable ride with plenty of space. You can have the third row up and still have plenty of room for baggage or groceries in the back. If you are wondering about reliability, look up how reliable Kias are. I was shocked that they are one of the most reliable car brands out there, which made my decision much easier. I was going to go with another Jeep Wrangler and I am SO glad I didn't!

I was looking for a 3 row SUV with a little more cargo space that was in between my Land Rover Discovery and my beast of a Suburban. I had tested several models and was really seeking the best adaptive cruise control because I suffer from plantar fasciitis and long car rides kill my leg in heavy traffic. I was about to close on a Buick Enclave, the only vehicle which checked all the boxes for me (at $52k) when I decided to take a look at a Telluride S which had just come into the local KIA dealership. They had received 3 the day prior and 2 were already spoken for. Two hours later, and with $14k saved in my pocket, I became a Telluride owner. Not only is the adaptive cruise the best that I tested, the highway assist is truly incredible. It steers around minor curves in the highway and does a fantastic job of tracking other vehicles. I'm going to take up the ukulele or something because I now need something to do on long car rides (note, you still have to keep an eye on the road, of course, and the steering wheel expects your physical input every 30 seconds, or so). We love the interior and the ride and can't wait to take it to Maine and Florida this summer. The trim level was the S, and so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles as my prior vehicle, but I believe most of that is available in the upgraded versions. But again, for me, the two critical features were the right amount of passenger and cargo space, and the Highway Assist. And on both of those marks it was an A++ and therefore a no-brainer for the price. Great job KIA.

This car is definitely a "NECK BREAKER." I have had strangers come up to me giving me compliments and asking me if it was a new model range rover. I have the Moss Green SX prestige model and I have to say, I am very very very impressed. This car is a beauty! It handles very well. I used to own a Sorento and switching to this vehicle, being a bit longer and wider was not much of an issue for me. I was able to adjust within days. This car lives up to its standards. It delivers so many safety features that other competitors such as (dodge, honda, toyota etc would charge an arm and a leg for. For me safety is #1. The lane assist, blind spot detection and the 360 camera all play a huge role in making sure that my family is safe on the road. KIA has definitely hit a grand slam with this car. If you are in the market to buy a durango, traverse, pilot, or any other suv that competes in this class, i say forget those. the TELLY is the way to go! So many great features and tech that you will be enjoying for a long time. If you decide to buy a Telluride, go for the SX prestige it is worth it!

Yes I did! My E300 was coming off lease and I wanted something different. Previously I have owned Mercedes GL large SUV, but I am no longer in a position to spend $100G for a car. I’ll tell you this Telluride is just as nice if not nicer then the Mercedes models I’ve owned. Technology is amazing, lane tracking. Smart Cruise, etc. and styling very cool. The ventilated seats, a must in Florida, are ha=was and shoulders over my E300. Now if if I could just pry those Kia badges off, LOL!

Owned a brand new Telluride for 9 hours before it broke down and had to be towed back to the dealer. Haven't seen in it since (that was a month ago), and they still have no idea what's wrong with it. Yet Kia told me they won't replace it with a new one. The Telly may be a great car, but steer clear of the Kia company altogether. Worst purchase of my entire life.

This SUV is everything everyone has said about it. I bought a 2020 SX in June 2019. I paid the MSRP less the incentives which brought the price down a couple of thousand dollars. Since it was a 2020 in early 2019 I did not mind the price. Now I see dealers who want One, Two, Three Thousand dollars over MRSP for a 2020 when the 2021 will soon be out. Gouging is not ethical in my opinion and I refuse to deal with gougers. I would like to buy one for my wife but it is not going to happen as long as dealers are taking advantage of the situation. It does not help their reputation. Of course if you have more money than brains go buy one it’s a great vehicle. For the rest of us sane people we will wait. This vehicle will only get better, I don’t know how but it will. Like everything else the competition will get better and Kia will ultimately suffer for the gouging.

My last two cars were an Audi A7 and Jeep unlimited. This Kia is nicer than both of them. No issues. Comfort and ride are spectacular. Never thought a Kia would be this awesome. Kia put together a great vehicle. I purchased in March 2019 and we are about to be in 2020. I have driven it 20k miles from FL to Georgia, FL to Alabama and daily driving through FL. I drove Honda, Nissan, Volvo, Hyundai, Subaru, Range Rover and I liked it best. Looks, comfort, reliability and price just make it the best deal. I bought the S version. Gives a moon roof and electric seat. Do yourself a favor consider this suv. The whole family is comfortable because of front and rear Ac and heat control and there are 8 or 9 plug ins for phone or iPads. I can’t say about this vehicle. My Jeep was 600 a month and my Audi was 1150 a month. My Kia is 350. You cannot go wrong.

I LOVE my new Telluride. It’s beautiful, comfortable, fun to drive and basically checks all the boxes. I got the EX with premium and towing package and paid about $50k after taxes etc. For this price I would expect some of the basic features my 2017 Highlander had such as not having to take my keys out of my bag to open the door, homelink to open my garage, and programmable driver seat settings. Other than that I am over the moon and love the car; it’s so spacious and the third row can actually fit adults. If anyone is considering one I would recommend highly but also recommend waiting awhile since most dealers are charging a markup so you have to haggle. There is a dealer in Muncie, Indiana honoring Costco prices, and I’m sure a few others. If you’re not in a rush it’s worth waiting for!

Radiator failed after a week, my wife ended up on the side of the freeway stranded with our kid in the back. Kia customer service has been awful to work with. The dealer passes you off on the main Kia Customer service line, and then you get bounced around. We regret buying this car based on how we are being treated.

We purchased an SX-Prestige AWD Labor Day Weekend and we have been very pleased. EPA estimate is fairly accurate as we drive in Eco mode primarily and average about 19 mpg in the city and more like 25-30mpg on the highway. We looked at all the internet reviews by consumers and critics and everyone has been looking at this new vehicle very favorably. At this point demand is still exceeding supply so a good deal is considered MSRP. Several dealers are marking up the vehicle well above MSRP. It has a very luxurious cabin feel, spacious trunk room even with the 3rd row up, plenty of legroom in the 3rd row, a great Highway driving assist feature (a lot like our Tesla autopilot sytstem in our model 3), and lots of safety features all at a very reasonable price point. Pros: Luxurious cabin with Nappa Leather Seats Attractive exterior aesthetics (purely subjective of course) Heated and Ventilated Seats in 1st and 2nd Rows Moonroof opens up the cabin for rear passengers Alcantara Suede Like Headliner HUD which includes BSI and Navigation Directions 21 Cubic Feet of storage with 3rd row up Plenty of legroom in the 3rd row even for adult passengers Plenty of USB ports and Cupholders throughout the vehicle Attractive glossy black 20" Rims Easy To Use, large touchscreen (10.25") with Appleplay Great Highway Drive Assist feature (much like Tesla's autopilot) Cons: Don't know about long term reliability given its a first year vehicle Resale Value Unclear Fairly average drivetrain and fuel economy We were also looking at the new Mercedes GLE/GLS, Audi Q7, Honda Pilot, Honda Odyssey, Chrystler Pacifica Hybrid, MDX, and XC90... all great vehicles but none of them checked all the boxes like the Telluride. Some of the aforementioned luxury brands cost tens of thousands more as well without the same features.

Surprise for my wife - now I want one...

I drove my top 3 choices before deciding which also included the Traverse and the Atlas. After thoroughly researching and checking out all 3, I had to go with the Kia. My wife had no idea. In fact when I surprised her her reaction was a bit disappointing “what is that... a Kia?” She knew I would be surprising her with a new SUV but thought it would be the Atlas. Nope - a white EX with hitch, cross rails, and the lovely clamshell yo top. So, why the Kia - simple, hands down it best the other two in multiple categories for my personal tastes. Looks: it’s an eye-catcher with a sturdy luxury look on the outside. Inside, it’s plush, comfy, rich looking, and full of tech. But it was really the drive that sold me. It’s quiet in comparison to the others and significantly less “busy” than the Atlas. Some say the VW character is a selling point but that transmission was way too hectic for me and I can’t imagine my wife would’ve appreciated that feel. The traverse was I initially my first choice but wasn’t nearly as refined or seemingly luxurious and the road noise was similar to my minivan. Still learning the vehicle but with 6 children (5 still at home) I opted for the EX so we had seating for 8. The middle bench is a benefit as it is wider than the 3rd row and gives us that extra option for rearranging kids and/or fitting all the friends. We’ve taken it on a 1,200 mile trip already and the clam shell and tow hitch bike rack turned this into a bonafide family mover vacation unit. As much as I loved our minivan I much prefer the styling and the ride of the Telluride. The lack of cargo space in comparison is made up for with that clamshell (and the under storage I the back is nice too). This has plenty of “pep” even in comfort mode. I’ve owned a lot of vehicles throughout the years and this is hands down my favorite. In the next 2 years I’ll grab one for myself as well. The only negative I can think of is that EX and SX are different trims. Perhaps make them the same options available? I would’ve been happy to spend more for the SX options (such as NAPA leather, memory seat settings, panoramic sunroof, fog lights, etc.) but still retaining the bench seat. I don’t care about 20” tires; they look great but the ride on these 18’s is phenomenally balanced. Anyhow, hope this helps. Love the Telluride and will wait a bit but expect to have two in our household sooner than later. I may even get a matching pearl white (unless I see a new dark mustard or burnt orange-ish color come along..).

We love our new Telluride SX AWD with the prestige package. We considered Audi Q7, Ford Explorer, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, surprise, the Telluride has more first and second row legroom than any of these vehicles. The Telluride is loaded with Technology and Comfort and comes at a price tag that is as much as $40k lower than those vehicles listed above. The Telluride fit and finish are excellent and it has an extensive warranty. We have had Mercedes and Infinity vehicles and thus far the Telluride has met or often exceeded our experience with more expensive brands. WELL DONE!

Fyi..my car only has 280 miles. Twice I have turned on my car and have pressed the start button and it has struggled to turn on. Almost as if the battery wasn’t working properly. I took it to the dealer and they of course cant duplicate the problem. Obviously it’s a problem. So now I just have to record every time I turn on the car even though it still doesn’t prove to anyone that something is wrong. Love the interior of the vehicle and would love it if it didn’t have that issue at less than 300 miles!

I have been looking at cars for years. I poured over specs, comparisons, prices, features and I can confidently say that u wont find more bang for your buck than with the telluride. I would have been satisfied with a 7 passenger S trim but the SX has everything I could ever want in a car. The Kia app is also amazing; I can set the climate to my exact specifications from my phone. I love everything about it. My 3 kids fit nicely with ample personal space, I can fit a weeks worth of groceries in the back, the safety features are unbeatable (the car can drive itself). I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'2" and we both love driving it. Roomy, comfortable, stylish, I have zero regrets. If you buy something else you will probably still be thinking about the telluride, but if you buy a telluride you will forget about other cars.

It's a great vehicle all around with a great infotainment and sound system too. On longer trips, especially on the highway, you will however need to get used to having that wonderful stereo system cranked up pretty lound, in order to drown out the deafening wind noise coming in from the rear drivers side door. After multiple visits to multiple dealerships, all admitted that the wind noise was not typical of a Telluride, but none could correct the issue. I was greatly disappointed!!!

Motor blown before 20k miles. I thought this was the coolest looking car and I was so excited when I got it. My very opinionated buddy warned me it was “still a Kia.” Unfortunately, I think he was right. Maybe I got the lemon in a bunch, but now the dealer says it’s going to be a month+ before I get the car back due to Covid shortages.

As a retired engineer, I tend to over-research car purchases. It typically takes me 3 years to decide. The Telluride has received many awards this year, and I agree with them all. As an avid Toyota fan, I was very hesitant to buy a KIA product, but after 8 months of ownership, I couldn't be happier. This 3 row SUV (along with the Palisade) is head and shoulders above the competition in nearly every measure. Quiet, comfortable, roomy in all 3 rows and surprisingly fuel efficient. I bought the EX trim for the 2nd row bench, and am very impressed with the safety and infotainment included in this model. Go test drive one; I think you'll be impressed too!

First, let me say that Kia was not even on radar when I started looking for a vehicle, but my wife saw some reviews and suggested I look at one. I was considering several mid sized SUVs including the Telluride, Honda Pilot, Acura MDX, Subaru Ascent and Ford Explorer. In the end the final choice came down to the Telluride (EX model) and the Pilot (Touring model). Several items made the decision quite easy. First the front passenger room in the Pilot is extremely limited and I am only 5' 10" (the driver's side has more room, please note that the front seat legroom dimensions quoted for every car are measured on the drivers side). Second, the Pilot's interior is bland compared to the Telluride. Third, the 9 speed transmission in the Pilot Touring is not very smooth based on my test drive. Fourth, the handling on the Pilot is not quite as good as the Telluride (not just my opinion, look at Consumer Reports [who are totally independent], numbers on emergency handling and braking). Fifth, there is very little room behind the third seat for luggage. Please note that we have owned a Honda Pilot and 6 Acura's over the years so we are big fans of Honda products. The Telluride has exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. I find the ride better and quieter than the Pilot. There are features on the Telluride that I feel are better than the Pilot and vice versa, but overall I feel that the edge clearly goes to the Telluride. It is still too early to know how reliable the Telluride will be and how good the safety ratings are going to be so I cannot comment on those. I will say that there is one feature not on the EX that are on many cars and that is the lack of memory seat/mirror settings for the drivers seat. I know many people are complaining about having to pay thousands over MSRP, but if you are willing to search around you can find them for only slight markups. Personally, I think the vehicle is underpriced by several thousand dollars at a bare minimum. There have also been a few complaints about issues, these is typical for every totally new model that comes out and the sooner you buy after initial introduction the more likely it is to have problems as various bugs get worked out.

My car has been out of commission for over a month as I really can’t drive it for prolonged periods. And even with this I’m dumping a gallon of coolant about every 4 days. Dealer service department not helpful. I’m very frustrated and completely wishing I bought a different vehicle as I’m sure this may be the beginning of multiple problems

Bought a new 2020 Telluride. AC stopped working at 14k miles. As many other owners have been told by their dealership service department, “a rock has damaged your condenser”. $1700 repair once the part is located (it has been 6 weeks and still on back order with no ETA. Absolutely no help from dealer (Liberty Kia in IL) or customer service line. Car drives well, but I would definitely not recommend given the dozens of similar reports, often in first year.

The first time I saw the Telluride advertised, I knew I wanted one....It took two months to get the color( gravity gray) and model ( EX) I wanted... Because I was not ready to walk away from from this vehicle, I know I did not get the best deal...For sure, they are proud of the Telluride! Pros: Beautiful, comfortable and roomy vehicle..rides extremely smooth...has Michelin tires ( not Korean tires) excelleration is good, especially in the sports mode ( can't wait to try snow mode), Lots of bells and whistles ( almost too many, as I turned a few off), great metallic paint job Cons: Vehicle manual does not fit in glove compartment ( oops?) so it takes up cup holder room in passenger door. My EX does not have an integrated garage door opener ( should be standard on a $42,000 vehicle) I had to search for my old garage door opener and put new batteries in it.. The steering is really stiff - maybe because I turned off the lane assist. Cluttered climate controls Update: I’ve been driving the Telluride for over a year now. I have had no issues, still a great vehicle. One of the most comfortable vehicles that I have ever owned..

Cover Kia & People Think It is a Range Rover

The lease was up on my BMW 528 and I decided to look for an SUV. I happened to see the Telluride in a restaurant parking lot a few days before having to turn it in. I went to BMW first to see their line up and then Lexus before going to my local Kia Dealer. The car is really in demand and my dealer only had 3 in stock. I was so impressed with it that I leased the Black EX with gray interior. It is definitely a head turner. I had people stopping me asking if it was a new range rover model. It is very comfortable and drives well and that is coming from someone who had a BMW 528 for 3 years. Great visibility and plenty of room. I am impressed by the warning when you shut off the engine to check the rear seats for kids or pets which is especially important in South Florida where the interior of a car can get well over 100 degrees in just a few minutes. I have only 2 complaints with it. The transmission sometimes kicks at a stop and most important is that my EX model does not have sensors in the front making it very difficult to judge distance from an object when parking or turning. It should have been standard on it. Don't buy one without it.

We got Telluride for many reasons - value, safety and the 5000 lb towing capacity for our boat. Well, we recently got a letter from Kia stating that the Telluride can actually only tow 1650 lbs unless your trailer is equipped with brakes! I went to the top of Kia customer care and they directed me to a not-so-easy to find location on their website that states this and it's the fault of the dealer for not telling us this. I contacted the dealer and they had no idea. The manager even argued with me about the towing capacity. After much discussion the dealer is taking responsibility and buying back our Telluride. Which is too bad because we love it. I put a lot of this on Kia for burying this information.

Love this vehicle until the windshield got a crack in and happened right in front of my son when the vehicle was parked it qas a 6 1/2 inch crack, then I called several window places to check it out they all said it was a pressure crack that I need to have it checked by the dealership. 3 days later windows down so air can circulate it was parked I went out to check it and now its turned out to be a 12-13 inch crack. Researching online tells me there are over hundreds of complaints anout the windshield cracking and still no recall. I love Kia this is my 4th Kia I have purchased, but this is my worst regret purchase.

Best suv I have ever owned by far!

I never thought I would buy a Kia suv but when I was choosing the Land Rover lr4 or the Kia telluride or the Hyundai palisade I really fell in love instantly with the telluride. It’s pretty unique looking on the outside which was a welcome change from most cars. The inside comfort and the driving quality and options like sport mode and ambient lighting along with a huge touch screen make it a no brainer. I also love the driver assist to stay in the lane and cruise control setup as well as the technology to startup and lock up from your phone. It’s just incredible.

This Ain’t Buy One, Get One Free Kia

Kia has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. I was financing a Dodge Durango who’s transmission was failing and needed something dependable for my family. Enter the Telluride SX! Like the previous comments, I get many complements on it...so much so that strangers will do a double take to see if it’s actually a KIA. I was taken aback by the brand...yes...but once I test drove it, it was must buy. Considering that it has all technology that higher brands come with at a much lower cost point, they should be on notice to some degree. Most importantly, dependability is key! Simply put I love the SX so far and would recommend it. THIS AIN’T THE BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE KIA OF OLD. THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!

Oh, So that’s why Telluride is in such high demand

I have owned a Telluride SX AWD for 2 weeks now and WOW am I impressed! I was lucky to get this model, as I bought it off the showroom floor immediately. There were no more available in this trim anywhere in my area. They are in high demand and Kia can’t make them fast enough. I owned a Nissan Altima for years and knew the Telluride would be a big change for me. It looks like an SUV, but drives like a car. It practically drives itself. Very luxurious and fun inside and out. Great job Kia!

I researched for a while and finally decided on the Telluride. My husband didn't know about it until I took him to the Kia dealership. He got it for his birthday and he absolutely loves it! We bought it in March and did a long trip to Florida. The only problem we had was a cracked windshield from a rock . It took 3 months to get a new windshield. The Telluride is so popular our Kia dealership sells them ad fast as they get them. It rides smooth and responsive. Its roomy and comfortable. I just told my husband today that I probably will get one for myself. My current car doesn't ride as smooth and I now have a disc bulge in my lower back. I keep checking the dealerships website and of course they are out of stock!!

This is my 3rd (and last) Kia purchase. I purchased the Telluride and within the first year of ownership I've had to replace the rtires (at about 27k), have the alignment done, replace both headlights, passenger side mirror and sunroof track. That's just the first year. It a beautiful looking vehicle with lots of bells and whistles but I'm beginning to regret purchasing this vehicle. I would also like to mention that my 1st Kia (2016 Soul) the engine blew at 11k miles. I spent 3 months in a rental while they rebuilt the engine. I should have known then to look elsewhere.

My wife and I test drove the Kia Telluride EX model last week. We were looking for an 8 seater, and this seemed like a great option. In general, we thought the vehicle met our high expectations except for the speakers. The SX model is the only trim with the premium Harmon/Kardon speakers. It may be that the speaker settings hadn't been optimized to my taste, but it my wife and I both thought the speakers in the EX trim sounded worse than average. This was a deal breaker for us, since one of the things we enjoy most about driving is listening to music and we couldn't justify spending 40K on poor quality sound. We test drove the SX model the next day, and found the sound system to be pretty good (as expected) but moving up to that trim level resulted in us losing the 8th seat (SX is a 7 seater) which was one of the major reason we were considering the Telluride. The SX seemed great, but we had also been test driving a Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring that came with almost the same set of features we wanted and at the end of the day we couldn't justify spending $9000 more for the Telluride SX (we were quoted $45K) vs the Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring ($36K with the $2K rebate Mazda was having). Two other nitpicks I had about the Telluride were: 1. Coming to a stop felt fairly abrupt. My old car and the CX-9 both felt like they came to a smoother stop. 2. I wasn't as impressed with the look of Telluride in person as I was with the online pictures/commercials I had seen. It still looks great, but I don't think it's as dramatic looking as what it appears in the advertisements... but you can probably say that about every car. I thought I should post this in case anyone else is torn making a decision like I was. I don't think you can really go wrong with it, but maybe this will help you feel like are still making the right decision if you don't buy this car.

Did a lot of research. Looks great (inside and out), drives great. Driving assist is awesome (on freeways) . Stereo is great. Only downside is that they are (at the moment) rare and tough to get exact options / colors you want. Also the KIA thing is no big deal; in fact, for me it's a positive given their recent quality results and great warranty.

Only One Disappointment

Everything about the Telluride seems perfect for a grandfather of 4 - except - having ordered one in mid-March, here it is mid-June and they can't tell me when, or even if, I'll actually get the vehicle. Apparently there are some material shortages (20" wheels and Nappa leather for the seats). Yet - they are still advertising the heck out of it. An extended test drive proved it will be the right vehicle. The vehicle driven was in MN, the only dealer I found willing to let me drive a SX-Prestige more than around the lot. Almost 3k miles on the vehicle - about 100 from me. The on board computer said 22 MPG - they say they never reset it. If true, a new vehicle with 3K miles worth of various people driving it - holds out hope for at least as good MPG as advertised. Good pick-up, handling and braking. Love the tech. OK a 2nd disappointment - can't be ordered without navigation. Truly hope mine eventually gets here and they don't price me out of the deal (OK - a 3rd - they wouldn't talk price until the vehicle comes in) (let's go for a 4th - KIA corporate would not respond to my questions about ETA or honoring the incentives that were in place at time of order) . Waiting - not so patiently...

I purchased a 2020 Telluride LX. Even at the lowest trim, this car delivers. Driving experience is excellent (probably the best test drive I've had). This SUV has TONS of space, but drives like a smaller, German car. Kia hit this one out of the park!
