This is our *3rd* soul!

2020 Kia Soul LX 4dr Wagon (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

I've owned a 2011 Soul base with manual transmission, and a 2012 Soul + with manual transmission. Both were purchased as used cars and we loved them. It was REALLY hard to move to an automatic transmission vehicle, but now is a great time to buy a new car and the offer from Kia was too excellent to pass by. Sure, we could have ordered a manual transmission 2020 Soul, but again, the 0% financing deal was too good to pass over. We live in an urban setting. We chose this car, for the 3rd time, because it's size is perfect for the city and our extremely narrow driveway. It can get into most parking spots that your Optima could only dream of. So we test drove the LX and traded in our manual transmission Soul +. It's been about five weeks, and the last three hundred miles were road trip miles. It is quieter than the 2011 and 2012. The suspension is so much softer, it doesn't even feel like the same car. The previous Souls--drove over the tiniest pothole and your teeth rattled in your head blocks later. Now I look for potholes to drive over because I cannot believe it's so much improved! I've never boasted about a vehicle's ability to air condition, but they improved that too. Quieter, softer and yet very efficient. The gas tank is bigger. And somehow, the car's gas efficiency is improved as well. Our previous two cars we were getting 33-36 MPGs on the highway. Last week's road trip, depending on the hills, we got between 38-41 MPGs. Did I mention it's a lot quieter? Kia has come a long way in the last 5-6 years and you are getting excellent value for the cost. But we bought a 3rd version of the car because it's a great little car, not because of the sticker price. That part was gravy! UPDATE: While not specific to the 2020 model, just wanted to say that while we were in upstate NY, we noticed the Kia Soul is a popular car up there. We both were surprised at how well our previous Souls performed in snow with snow tires, and upstate NYers must feel the same. While it hasn't snowed just yet for us to say how the 2020 will perform, given its weight and overall similar sizing--we're expecting it to do just fine in the snow. UPDATE: We’ve had quite a bit of snow dumped on us since December and am happy to report that the car handles well in the snow with snow tires (front only) and with cautious driving. The car is fun to drive and we have no complaints. Except for the fact that the headrests in the back cannot be removed. 😠

I switched from a mini van. Can I say that I am in love?! I love the look, the layout of the instruments, the power to accelerate when needed. I have only had the car for 3 weeks so its all new to me but so happy to have purchased this model. I did a lot of research for the category I was looking for and this is the one that fits my family and had the room I needed for my 6' 3" son. So, so far so good. I will update as time goes on.

As my lease comes to an end on my 2017 Genesis G80, I opted to go with a 2020 Kia Soul GT with Turbo. What a fun car. It has an amazing infotainment system, wonderful sound system and is just fun to drive. It has all the latest safety tech as well. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of youtube videos before deciding on the Kia. In addition to being just plain fun, it is comfortable and very practical in terms of hauling stuff. I am 6'2" and it is so easy to get in and out of.

S Trim Is the Way to Go

2020 Kia Soul S 4dr Wagon (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

The redesigned 2020 or 2021 Soul is a huge improvement over the previous versions But the base-level L trim is poor value for the dollar. For just $1200 more than the L with the optional automatic transmission get the S trim. The S has advanced safety features lacking in the L: forward collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert. Is your life worth $1200? The X and GT trims just have cosmetic differences. The turbo model is overpriced and the turbo engine gets poor reviews. For my money the EX trim is an amazing bargain for all the awesome features it adds over the S but you might not want to spend that extra cash. Don't skimp on safety though. Don't worry about the lack of All Wheel Drive. You can put snow tires on if you need them and that improves handling in snow. Remember your trim levels: S for safety, L for less, EX for extra.

I bought the “S” model and it’s great. I’m 6 foot plus and quite large but have tons of room in both front and rear. All the safety features of this package are very useful and actually quite unbelievable. Awesome automobile 👍
