Used 2018 Kia Sorento Consumer Reviews
4 cycle 7 seat, SPORT can go quick if needed
In 2021 we bought a Certified 2018 Sorento LX (2.4) AWD with some 44k for $16,850. It came with the remainder of 60k power and 100k/10year warranty. Sorento felt larger than CRV (Honda) / RAV (Toyota) so it was a pretty good deal for our family of two adults and 2 kids. After four years of long drives, 2018 Sorento is still going strong. We have spent around $1200 on a set of four new tires and two new front disk brakes. We can still haul two more souls comfortably with middle row sliding forward, and creating couple extra inches for the third row. The "Sport" mode still provides power when needed. We have added 30k in long commutes from Capitol to NYC to across the international border on our north. Gas tank no longer fills for $44, but a respectable $50 (remember 4 stroke engine). Middle seats still recline and we can still carry a 92" long rolled carpet tucked in between the seats (with mid section rolled down). Our first vehicle was a sedan. Swapping our sedan with 2018 Sorento was a good decision. It provided alot more space available to four of us. We can still pack 4 duffle bags, couple suitcases and have space to recline middle seats. Multiple USBs make life easier for kids. Android phone display used to help in using phone maps and other apps (when it used to work). Since city drive is constant stop and go, our Sorento still performs well in ALL traffic conditions. We have gotten used to Sorento's down shifts and high RPM jumps during cruises. It still feels like that transmission shifts down to the 2nd gear at 10 degree climbs. Our seven year old vehicle still drives well and I always feels in control. Overall body structure and doors are still solid. We still feel confident in riding it. It's just like any other Japanese machine. Oh wait, it's a Korean Engineering.

My Sangria Kia
Love the vehicle so far. Not too many miles on it yet due to icy roads. I love how it handles and hugs the road. I still have many features to explore.

How is it possible to love and hate the same car.
We bought our Sorento brand new, and love it--sort of.. We have had a recurring electrical problem since the first year. Have had it into the dealer around 10 times - some of which they kept if for a week trying to isolate the problem--which is still occurring. Not as often, but we still get the error message. Now we are having a/c problems and have taken it to the dealer for the 3rd time. They are sure there is a freon leak, but cannot find it. Last time they added a dye to the freon.. It is at the dealers now..Too many problems for a brand new car.. We love and hate it at the same time..It was exactly what we wanted when we bought it...If they can't get it fixed -- it's gone.
