Money Pit

Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD-LOADED. STAY AWAY. Wife had vehicle since new; maintained to the hilt. Despite great care, list of repairs on this piece of junk too lengthy to list. Most notable lately: tracking bar and other suspension parts ($300), new air conditioning system ($1500), new fuel pump ($500), leaking transmission, faulty wiring, on and on. Last two years: cost over $3,000 (that's half of its current market value). I hate it. Will never buy a Chrysler product. My Toyota has same mileage (115K), and NEVER had a problem. Can't wait to sell this heap of junk and get a 4Runner.

Best vehicle I've ever owned!

I love my Jeep - it's the best vehicle I've ever owned. I am the third owner, bought it at 70,000 miles and have driven it over 45,000 miles without any major problems at all. I couldn't be more pleased. I was nervous reading some reviews that made them look like they just dropped dead at 100,000 miles. Well mine still runs smooth and strong. No engine, tranny or transfer case replacements ever needed. Could be because I and the previous owner ran full synthetics in it since around 50,000 miles.

My wife and I are orig owners and after 10 yrs and dispite some expensive repairs we still love it. Only problem prior to 100k was the brakes front and back which have always been a problem, and the water pump. Replace the composite rotors with solid. I run this truck hard, tow a boat go 4 wheeling (beach, mud,+)and the 5.2 still runs good at 173k. At 100k the expense began; QuadraTrac tranfer case rebuild, rear diff. rebuild, trans rebuild and just blew out both rear brake cylinders. Like I said I run it very hard, and still love it!

Our '96 Grand - ain't so! Differential (went out!), A/C (wen't out), computer under hood (fried!), transmission fluid (leaking as we speak), wheel shimmy (makes an exciting ride!) all THIS within a year and 1/2 of owning this Heap of Jeep! It's the proverbial MONEY PIT! Looks GREAT - but, I don't even trust it to run to the grocery store!! If it weren't for a husband that's mechanically inclined AND an extended warranty - it would be GONE... What's worse?? still paying on the loan! Run - Run as fast as you can - STEP AWAY FROM A JEEP!!!!!!

The Jeep I own is a strong lopng lasting SUV. It's 12 years old and it still has a strong pick up and can drive through any terrain.
