Beware of 2019’s
On 06/11/18 I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus 4x4. On 06/21/18 I noticed the rear passenger taillight was allowing moisture in it resulting in condensation to build up inside the taillight. (Replaced under warranty on 08/22/18) on 07/08/18 - 07/09/18 - 07/10/18 I ran into an issue with the transmission shifting hard and then displaying a message on the dash that stated “service transmission, restart in park at zero speed” forcing me to coast to a stop and place the vehicle in park and restart it in order to have the transmission work again. (Diagnosed on 07/11/18 and valve body solenoid learn and performed quick learn under warranty) On 07/15/18 AppleCar Play wouldn’t launch on either my iPhone X or my partners iPhone 8 both operating iOS 11.4.1, the USB ports wouldn’t recognize either phones being plugged into them and then the transmission shifted hard while driving between 65mph-55mph to Cumberland, MD from Pittsburgh, PA through the Laurel Highlands. On 07/20/18 the radio went into theft lock mode while driving asking for a 4 digit pin and then the transmission wouldn’t upshift or downshift properly resulting in a message again flashing on the dash stating “service transmission, restart in park with vehicle at zero speed”. On 07/25/18 the vehicle bucked me hard into an interaction upon taking off from a stop light to the point where I put the vehicle in park and got out to check for damage bc I thought the driver behind me had rear ended me. On 08/02/18 the radio went black for about 3-4 minutes while driving then ran through its startup / loading screen as if I had just gotten into the vehicle and started it. On 08/03/18 the radio froze while driving displaying “please wait.....” in red in the middle of the screen and wouldn’t allow you to select anything on the screen. On 08/04/18 the radio randomly started making its own selections on the screen as if you were touching the menus and selecting things. The vehicle also shifted hard while slowing down around 35-45mph. On 08/07/18 the radio restarted itself after driving for about 10 minutes after its rebooted itself it again started selecting menus as if someone was touching the screen and making the selections. On 08/11/18 the vehicle again had transmission issues. When the cruise was set at 65 mph on a flat area of open road it rev’d up to 4,000 RPM and stayed that way for about 1 minute. It again hard shifted when taking off from a stop at an intersection. (On 08/15/18 the rear drivers side taillight began to allow water into the taillight resulting in a buildup of condensation. (Replaced under warranty on 08/22/18) 08/17/18 radio again restarted itself while driving and coming to a stop at a stop light. (finally got this on video occurring and a replacement radio is on order due to the radio not accepting an update that is available and the dealership feeling it’s an issue with the unit) 08/18/18 transmission shifted hard twice while driving up an incline on Donahue Rd driving between 45mph-50mph on my way from Latrobe, PA to Pittsburgh, PA. On 08/18/18 the drivers seatbelt became difficult to latch into the buckle and the dashboard would not recognize when the seatbelt wasn’t clipped in resulting in no warning message / light to display on the dash. (defective buckle replaced under warranty on 08/22/18) 08/22/18 Dealership takes measurement of oil due to concern of oil consumption and orders a replacement engine due to oil loss / consumption. An appointment is schedule for a new engine to be put in on 09/05/18 along with another leaking taillight to be replaced, radio to be replaced and the transmission to be looked at again. I am beyond frustrated with this experience and am asking that Jeep give me a replacement vehicle due to the effect the service history, engine replacement and not getting a resolution / proper diagnosis for this transmission yet will have on the resale of my vehicle down the road. I have all documents from my service visits as well as videos and pictures of things when they occurred and it was safe to take / record the issue/concern. This was my first brand new vehicle purchase and now I am questioning whether it was the right decision. PLEASE JEEP HELP ME! #Jeep #Cherokee #FCA

2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited-4,000 miles
Update: I’m adding two stars over the longer term at 24,000 miles. What is apparent to me was the dealer’s service department damaged the vehicle while trying to repair it. I have since switched dealers/service department to another Jeep dealer. Since then all has been well. Also, Chrysler seemed ill equipped, originally, to provide replacement parts even under warranty. I do not know if that has improved. Well while getting two recalls services at the same time a third issue blew up as I was leaving Dewey Jeep in Ankeny, IA. Low and behold the engine warning light and the automatic engine kill at stop (for extra gas mileage) cam on. The SUV jerked forward and I knew there was a problem. Turns out the fuel injector wiring was somehow abraded. I'm wondering if this happened during the recall service. I'm wondering how they could have driven the SUV and not have noticed the warning lights/icons as well as the stalling out of the SUV?

17,000 miles in so far so good. (Long review)
Car Review So I’m gonna break this down into category’s. But here’s a little background info.. I bought the car August of 2018 so I’ve owned the vehicle for roughly 7 months now. Currently I’m at 16,500 miles and will probably be around 33,000 by the end of the year. ( I commute to about 30 miles one way to work so roughly 300 miles a week. Gas Proficiency - I would say when I first got the car I was commuting so the gas mileage was horrible but now that I commute I can easily get 378 miles worth of gas each week. - I usually only fill up once a week and it cost me about $30-$35 a week (when the tank is close to empty ) Comfort - this car is so comfortable ! It makes commuting a breeze! Performance wise: 1. This is the first new car I’ve owned, I used to own a 2005 Jeep Liberty. So compared to the liberty this Cherokee is BEYOND better. 2. My mother owns a 2009 Grand Cherokee Limited with a V8 engine and I still think the 2009 accelerates better than the 2019 Jeep Cherokee. (Then again it is a grand Cherokee and it’s a v8) Basically what I’m trying to say is that you would think a car that is 10 years newer would accelerate better. Also highway wise once you tap the gas it accelerate pretty nice. The problem is when your doing errands around town, the car can be so slow especially when you have to stop frequently for traffic lights. 3. Since I’ve had the vehicle the infotainment screen has blacked out 3 times. I took it to the dealer and they ran some test and rebooted it. Since then it’s restarted once while driving Brakes 1. When I first got the car the brakes were fabulous lol. 7 months after they’re still pretty good but I’ll probably get new brake pads before the summer. It just takes a little longer to brake Transmission 1. It shifts too hard sometimes and it’s annoying because you’ll think something is falling from the car Start stop feature 1. That [non-permissible content removed] is annoying. The car doesn’t accelerate as quickly as it would if the start stop feature was disabled. Fun fact: you can turn it off permanently. You have to click the button every time you get in the car ( it’s second nature to me now) Cabin noise 1. Loud, the engine is loud inside but outside it’s quiet as a whistle Speakers 1. Love them! I’m glad you can adjust the base and the all that Jazz Different Driving Modes 1. Sport - I’ve only tested it a few times and the car does accelerate better but it’ll drain your gas like no tomorrow 2. Snow- I LOVE the snow feature , we recently had a bad snow storm and it was plowing through the snow with ease. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A FULL TANK..this burns so much gas 3. Sand- haven’t tried it Overall- I give the car a B. Only because I’m biased about repairs but I mean after owning the car for 7 months I think that needing new brakes and other maintenance is pretty standard, especially with the mileage I’ve already accumulated.

Beware of 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited
Bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee a few weeks ago. Within 78 hours of owning the car, I went to start it up and the the car made a stalling noise. I tried to jump it and was unsuccessful. The next morning I made another attempt to start the car and it started up fine... two days later same thing happens.... I go to start the car to leave for work and the car stalls. After 15 minutes of yelling and cursing, the car finally starts up. I went to the dealership to tell them about the stalling problems and they hooked it up to a computer. They told me the “computer” showed no issues. They kicked me loose without doing a thorough inspection of the problem. So I continued to drive it thinking I will have to record the issue with my phone next time it happens. Well, last night I was driving on a busy road and stopped at a stop light (with only 400 miles on the ODO). The light turned green and when I stepped on the gas, the engine stalled again. I literally almost got killed as approaching vehicles nearly rear ended me. Brought it to the dealership next morning where the car didn’t start for them... Went online and googled 2019 Jeep Cherokee stalling problems and saw a tremendous number of links to bad reviews from people experiencing similiar or identical issues with the car stalling. The company needs to do a recall on this car before they face a lawsuit. Be cognizant of this issue before you drop 30-40 grand on a new Jeep Cherokee, and heed the reviews online.

Catch the oil
after I purchased this vehicle 2 months later it had a recall on the stability control I took it into the dealership there were no lights that came on other than the battery light no oil light no nothing my car was very low on oil after 2 months of having a brand new vehicle they said maybe it wasnt checked when it was brought onto lot . 2000 miles after that service my car is doing the same thing , but this time a low oil pressure light just flashed on & off in less than a second . I just added 5 qts of oil & I have an appointment in 2 days for dealership to look @ it ! No oil leaks or any sign of that ! WTH ! It's a 2019 & I hope they figure it out

2019 Jeep Cherokee with less than 1000 miles.
Vehicle stalls out for no good reason. i have yet to take it back to the dealer to be looked at, but from what I've gathered on forums, I am not the only one that has encountered my specific issues with the vehicle. i bought this jeep with 21 miles on it and it already is beginning to sound like an old vehicle with engine problems. always sounds like it wants to bog out when leaving a complete stop. the transmission doesn't seem to know when to switch gears. just an all around mess. we will see what the dealer finds, but from what I've read it doesn't seem like anyone has gotten a straight answer as to what might be happening.

Not been very satisfied.
So I have a 2019 Cherokee Latitue plus with the 2.0T motor. This SUV gets up a lot faster than I expected. It is comfortable with good tech stuff. I am a former ASE mechanic so I have a pretty good idea of how things on vehicles work. We bought ours August of 2018, with in a month it started making a hissing noise from under the dash. Did not think to much at first, but it kept getting louder and louder. So shortly after that I got 2 recall notices in the mail, so I called to make an appointment. 3 weeks out, yes 3 weeks. So I said ok fine and while you have it for thr recalls please look into the hissing noise as by then I knew it had to do with the HVAC system. Took it in and what do you know the dealership did not order the parts for the recall! They did check the freon level and it was low. Took another 3 plus weeks to get the recall parts in and get that handled. Now about a month or maybe a little more goes by and the hissing noise is back. Took it back in, took them 2 weeks to find and fix the slow leak behind the dash. That was almost 2 weeks ago, and yesterday the check engine light came on! It's fun to drive but this has gotten old very fast! One more issue and I will be looking into the Lemon law! It may have 7000 miles on it now maybe.

2019 cherokee randomly stalls.
Bought new in the middle of June and has stalled a total of 4 time since it had 15 miles on the odometer. When it stalls it has to be brought to a complete stop , shifted to park and restarted with the key. The first time it stalled at 15 miles the salesman was with me on the test drive and sold it to me anyway. I assumed it was something i did to make it stall and if there was an actual problem it would be taken care of well you know what they say about assuming. 3 more stalls and 20 something days at the dealership and they cant reproduce the problem so nothing can be done. Jeep customer care wont help because the dealership could not find the problem so now I am left driving around trying to get video to back up my claim. Would not recommend Jeeps integrity. This is happening to a lot of people with 2019 Cherokees and they acted to me like I was the first they herd of. Done with Chrysler.

Never thought I’d like a Jeep so much
My last two cars were Audi A4s and I always thought I’d get a Q5 when it came time to get a family hauler. But the thing is, when you realized an expensive child is coming into your life, maybe you start thinking of ways to be a little more thrifty about your car payments. So buy a CR-V right? Wrong. The things are hideous to look at and that whiny, weak little 1.5T is the antithesis of a “fun ride.” Look, there are more reasons to drive a vehicle than reliability scores and fuel economy. My Limited 4X4 in white is sexy (in a non-showy kind of way), comfortable and has good old American-engine cojones. The leather smells and feels good enough. Interior plastics are either soft to the touch or glossy. The Audi feels like a space ship. This feels more normal and understated, but premium. Infotainment is a bit cluttered, but easier to use than most systems. Suspension is really quite nice for its class. The stock sound system is, well good. Not great. But very good for a stock, non-premium option. The 2.0L Turbo has great pickup. It delivers all the power a small truck should need to deliver. Gearing is a bit weird getting used to. First and/or second gear seems very tall. Under hard acceleration, the transmission prefers to keep you in the same gear even after you’re over peak torque. I wonder if that’s an off-road thing. Look it’s good enough, but that transmission isn’t winning any awards. I don’t mind it all that much. Hell for the deal I got, I can deal with a car that’s only major flaw is inefficient shifting. Either way, mash the pedal and you’re off at a good clip. Remote start gets the seat vents pumping cold air while I’m still putting my shoes on. Ride is super plush and the car has all the stuff in it I really need. And all for less than $370 a month with no money down. Definitely solid value in my book. Hell, Volvo told me they’re leasing XC40s in the $500s! And it’s not all that much better. So yeah, if you want a family SUV that can handle some mud and actually has some balls - without breaking the bank, the Jeep is a solid option.

2019 JEEP CHEROKEE-- STALLS WHILE DRIVING--BEWARE
I leased this car 4/23/18 and since then (today is 8/9/2018) the car has stalled WHILE DRIVING 3 times. The car has 5200 miles on it. Took the car in on a Tuesday and dealer checked the oil, said it was fine, and they had never heard of a 2019 stalling and did not have time to look at it. I called the service department manager and he asked me to bring the car in Wednesday. Today (Thursday) the service manager calls and tells me that the car was 2 quarts low on oil (how?) and that the car stalling while me driving it is a safety feature! When the oil is low the car dies--because hey, that's safe right! It's safe to be driving with your six year old in the car and your car just DIES WITHOUT ANY WARNING. Not sure how they consider this a safety feature for your car to just die while driving it? Please for your safety stay far far away from this car. If I could get out of this lease today I would.

Life Safety Issue
engine stalls frequently without any kind of warning ( oil pressure light, check engine light etc) due to low oil level was told by Jeep it is typicalfor this engine to burn a quart of oil every 1500-2000 miles. Jeep Refuses to do ANYTHING about this only saying You should check oil more often. So if you dont want to stall going down the highway with a 18 wheeler 2 feet off you rear bumper or get stuck in a busy intersection and get T-Boned stay away from this Vehicle

Great car much improved over my 2016 Jeep Cherokee
I traded my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk in for this. As much as I liked the old one I really have noticed significant improvements with the new one. Transmission is much smoother and the engine seems to have more power even though it is the same size as the 2016 engine. The best improvement is the outside lighting. I can see so much better with the LED lights versus the halogen lights. Overall I really love this car.

this car sucks
car stalls. has horrible breaking power. absolutely no acceleration speed. not worth the money. cute on the outside and leather interior is soft thats about it. its so small almost claustrophobic. the car play and bluetooth randomly decide to not work and just turn off. don't buy this car. mine has 1100 miles on me and has stalled two times WHILE driving? don't think its supposed to do that! Sorry jeep you've really outdone yourself with this one! dealership is no help :) I really feel so unsafe while driving my car. I thought it was just my bad driving skills but after doing research this stalling problem has happened to many other people. NOT SAFE AT ALL.

Excellent ride, bad transmission and worthless war
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with 19,000 miles on was great right up until the Power Transfer Unit failed which in turn cause the transmission to catastrophically fail. Jeep is refusing to cover the $13,000 repair bill under warranty. As I was coming to a stop at a rural intersection, i got hung up on a small snow drift. After about 30 minutes of getting in and out of the car while trying all the different 4x4 modes and shoveling, everything exploded. By exploded, I mean I was picking up shrapnel off the ground and transmission fluid was pouring out. This happened while the transmission temp gauge was no higher than 180f. When a person is stuck in the snow, it usually requires spinning the tires a bit, trying to go both forward & reverse, etc. I won't say I was babying the Cherokee, because I wasn't, but I was not revving it up to redline or being overly hard on it. Jeep of course is trying to say its all my fault but as of this moment, they have not released any specific details to me on exactly how it was my fault or what the criteria is for it being my fault. I do know that after buying a brand new $40,000 Jeep vehicle, I wont ever buy an FCA product again. Dont believe the "all weather capable" hype, the photos I have prove that it isn't!

Happy with purchase
I previously had a Grand Cherokee and liked its features and utility. Decided that the new Cherokee was almost the same size and got better gas mileage. So far I'm very satisfied. The technology is state of the art, the sound system is the bomb, and it drives very solidly and true. Fit and finish are very good too as well as the quality of materials used. I went with the Overland model which has many upgrades along with the tech package option. So far it's a great vehicle for me.

True ( hydro) Blue with No complaints!!
I’ve been a jeep fan for over 10 yrs now. I’ve owned nothing but suvs ...4 so far totaling 450k miles . . My last jeep was an 04 overland (wj) which I kinda still miss..... at was a beast ... powerful and unknowingly quick ( 0-60 6.7 sec) but it was getting old (183k miles and owned it’s for 10 yrs ) and not worth fixing. There wasn’t any way I wasn’t gonna get another suv. Did my research... trailhawk was decided. With 19k miles on it already with both highway and city miles ,it’s still a lovely place to be in and I admire it every time I walk up to it to get in. I haven’t been off road yet but do plan to do so ASAP. I opted for the v6 due to the newness/swift introduction of the turbo 4 without too many tested miles in the jeep. Although it has been tested in Europe thru fiat .... I just wasn’t comfortable. I thoroughly enjoy the trailhawk in all aspects. The look , the color ( hydro blue) and reliability (which I was concerned with before my leasing )handling ( very smooth over bumps , city driving and highway driving, ergonomics, seats , dashboard etc .... simply said it everything works and it’s a more than comfortable environment to be in. It’s slightly more efficient than that monster high output premium gas preferred 4.7 v8 in the overland although not as quick/powerful. It’s fast enough to get you a ticket lol. I especially like the auto stick which I do use often. Like other reviews for the Cherokee the 9 speed transmission can be a little laggy and slow to find the right gear you need to pass but that is solved with the auto stick. I’ve gotten up to 26/27 mpg on highway being very nice to the pedal. My only complaints are 1) it’s a little smaller than I’m use to 2) the gas tank is only 15.8 gallons 3) the gas tank door doesn’t lock ... smh really ?? . Coming from a “ road dawg “ that has over a million miles of driving all sorts of vehicles , I give the trailhawk a thumbs up and It’s a vehicle worth checking into.

2019 Jeep Cherookee Latitude Plus
We ultimately decided to get the Cherokee Latitude Plus edition with the 3.2L VR with the cold weather option. We have had our Cherokee for about 2 months and we absolutely love it. We traded in our 2014 Chevy Equinox and the drive quality is night and day different. Acceleration is very responsive and the own road ride quality is fantastic while minor offroad ride quality is very good as well. The Cherokee has less interior storage space than our old Equinox, but the leg room in the front and back seats are much (much) better. The uConnect system is one of the nicest interfaces we have ever seen on any car we have owned. Last but not least, the overall build quality is very good overall. We have driven 1,001 miles in 2 months with about an even mix of city and hiway driving. So far we have seen a combined 24 MPG, but the best we have seen with city driving is 20.5 MPG and 28 with hiway driving. We simply love our Cherokee and unless Jeep really messes something up we definately see another Jeep in our future. There are a few items we wish we had been aware of including the following. 1. The base model does not come with a spare tire and only has a tire inflation and flat fix kit. You can upgrade to a mini spare tire as an option or you can get a full size tire if you get the tow package or you can order a full size tire after purchase from Jeep as a kit. The spare tire area is actually very cool as you can remove a couple inserts depending on the option (either 2 inserts or 1) to accomidate a full size spare after purchase. 2. If you expect at any time in the future to add a hitch, spend the extra $800 and get the tow option before purchasing. The tow option comes with a larger engine and transmission cooler and includes the rear facia with the tow opening along with the hitch and wiring harness. If you want to add this after purchase you have to order the hitch, wiring harness and facia and together they cost more than $800 and you don't get the larger engine and transmission cooling options. 3. If you want navigation and SiriusXM Guardian you have to get the uConnect with the larger 8.4 inch screen. We are actually glad we did not pay the extra $1499,00 for the larger uConnect system simply because both uConnect options come with Apple and Android Auto and at least with Andriod any ways the navigation is redundant. We use Waze on our phones which works remarkably well and after looking at the uConnect Sirius navigation option we prefer the later as with both Waze and Google Maps the maps are updated more frequently. The only real option we could see to getting the navigation option was the speed warning feature, but we have heard from several people in the Jeep forums that they have had issues with the speed limits not being updated in the nav system so they ended up turning the feature off. Just to be clear the smaller uConnect does have SiriusXM Radio just not the NAV and SiriusXM Guardian. Just do you home work before you purchase as there are several trim levels and options available.

Not Elite So far
We picked up our 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite on Wednesday, August 1st. Had to take it back to the dealer on August 3rd for intermittent airbag alerts and dash light illumination along with some other intermittent traction control light gremlins. Service department told us that the they'd probably not be able to provide a loaner/rental for a car that had about 120 miles on it but that it needed to stay with them in the name of safety as the airbags may not deploy if there were to be an accident. Needless to say, that did not go over well. They did end up providing us another Trailhawk Elite after some discussions. The issues had to be taken to the engineers at Chrysler for their "expertise" based on the codes that had been generated and stored. As of last night there is still no resolution with more info to come today. For their sake, I hope the news I get today is better and that I am not the one pulling the info from them as I had to do yesterday. I am stunned that this is from a dealership that I have personally bought four cars from now and referred one or two people that have bought cars there. It looks like maybe a new relationship with a different dealer may be in order if this does not get fixed promptly. We have another dealer that is way closer to my house than the current one. Looks like I may need to familiarize myself with the Ohio lemon law rules but lets hope it does not come to that.

Off Road Prowess w/o giving up On Road Civility
I went in for a Wrangler Rubicon JL but ended up driving away with the 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk. The Cherokee Trailhawk just made more sense for me day to day with just enough off-road capability to venture to my list of remote camping destinations. What sold me was the strong cost value and on-road refinement ..... it comes with a lot of standard features that I wanted i.e. the 8.4" Uconnect with Android Auto, full LED lighting, Low range with a Rear locking diff (which even the base Wranglers do not come with), rails to mount my roof tent. All of the other standard features are just icing all of which I still appreciate. Its just a great all around SUV that is priced right when you factor in the mfr. incentives. Do I still want a JL Rubicon???? Of course! The Wrangler JL Rubicon is the best off-roader but its mission in life comes with some compromises that I just couldn't ignore this time around with it being my only transportation. The Cherokee is extremely quiet and refine with a luxury car like ride and is still off-road capable enough to fit my needs. I ended up selecting the V6 over the Turbo 4 for its smoother & linear pedal modulation off road and history in service plus it just sounds better. No doubt the turbo 4 feels a little quicker but the slight turbo lag is noticeable. Anyone considering a good all around off-road vehicle should definitely look into the 2019 Trailhawk version (the updated model year). I think you will walk away impressed as I did. My only complaint thus far is the transmission calibration. It always wants to shift to a tall gear to maximize fuel economy which I get but c'mon. Its super frustrating especially when you are cruising up and down hills (highway); never in the correct gear to drive smoothly and maintain a certain pace. I end up having to shift manually or put it in Sport mode but a pain never the less.

Cherokee Trailhawk Elite
Bells and whistles, only thing it does not have is the 360 degrees camera system. It will parallel park itself, park itself, access cruise, lane departure, has 2.0l engine with turbo. Sunroof is huge, and the heated/vented seats are the best. A lot of city driving and some highway, 26.5 mpg. The 4wd, sand, sport and snow are great. The 4wd always on autoif it is required. Remote start and rear tailgate on fob. The blind spot monitoring is large and audible alarm is loud enough. Skid plates, tow hooks and Firestone destination at tires makes this an off road equipped vehicle. Highly recommend.

my midlife crisis vehicle!
i have had my trailhawk elite for 2 months and it has been great. taken it on road trips and the miles melt away. quiet, smooth, and fun. took it camping and proved to be an excellent vehicle for the job. it handled the off road just as advertised, making my mind dream of taking it into even more extreme conditions. for those wondering about traveling with more than one passengers, just got back from a festival that i took 4 adults plus myself driving over 2 hrs each way. everyone was impressed with the ride. i have encountered one hiccup so far that i feel is important to point out. while camping my wife shut the auto liftgate and failed to notice a small nylon strap from our bags was near the latch. it jammed the liftgate quite impressively requiring an emergency trip to a dealer as the interior lights would not turn off and would drain the battery if not running. seems like a problem that should be remedied given what the vehicle is intended to be used for. so rember to pack the back carefully. in all i am highly satisfied with my purchase which i refer to as my mid-life crisis vehicle. i am actually looking forward to the upcoming winter here in Buffalo and that is saying something!

We love our Jeep Cherokee
We had a few options that I wanted on a new vehicle and my wife had a few. I wanted 4 wheel drive, the 6 cylinder, and the towing package. I found that most SUV's have very low towing specs. The Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus has all of these features. The towing package with the 6 cylinder bumps up the towing from 2000 to 4500 lbs. My wife wanted heated leather seats, something easy for her 80 year old mother to get in and out of and navigation. This fit the bill for both of our wants and needs. We only have about 2000 miles on it so far but it's been flawless. It drives great. We haven't seen any of the transmission issues that are in some reviews nor have we had any problems with it dying at a stop. We did get the cold weather package for remote start and heated steering wheel. Never knew how much I would like that feature but it's great. This is our first Jeep and if this vehicle performs this well, years into the future, I might just go get another Jeep. Only this time for me. :) Overall, it's a really solid vehicle that drives and handles great. The only downside I see is that it averages about 22 miles to the gallon which is not great but then again, it is a 6 cylinder. We knew that going in.

2019 Jeep Cherokee
2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited Overall : 8/10 Reliability : 6/10 Comfort : 7/10 Tech : 8/10 Performance : 6/10 Value : 8/10 (about 38,000 USD) We leased the 2019 Cherokee in December of 2018 and as of now, July of 2019, we have brought it back to the dealer four times for the same problem...the car would not start. Finally, they have fixed the car but it's a brand new car, that should not happen. FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) reliability has always been ify, especially with the Cherokee, but still, four times! Comfort is ok. The leather seats are very nice and soft and in the cabin, you never really feel like you have no space or anything. The heated seats are very comfortable and they really heat up the seat (ventilated seats are part of a $1,195 'Luxury Group' package, although they are standard on the higher 'Overland' trim level). Next is technology. The 'Limited' trim level (which we have) comes standard with a backup camera, rear parking sensors which can automatically stop the car in reverse, and blind spot assist with rear cross path detection. Although all those features are standard with the 'Limited' trim level, you can get a 'Technology Group' package for $1,095. This adds the following: Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go® Advanced Brake Assist Automatic High Beam Headlamp Control Full Speed Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning Parallel and Perpendicular (Un)Park w/Stop System Rain-Sensitive Windshield Wipers Side Distance Warning Performance is pretty good. You can get three engines for the 2019 Cherokee. A 2.4L I-4 with 180 HP and 171 Ib-ft, a 3.2L V6 with 271 HP and 239 Ib-ft, and a Turbocharged 2.0L 4-Cylinder with 270 HP and 295 Ib-ft which is all new for the 2019 model year. We opted for the V6. The options we opted for were the V6 engine, a sunroof (for $1,595) and a a navigation system (for $895). So, to conclude, I think the new redesigned 2019 Jeep Cherokee is overall a great car. It looks nice, is good to drive, and has many, many features

Upgrade from Patriot
I have driven Jeeps since 1994 including older Wagoneer and Cherokees and 2011 Patriot. This vehicle is the nicest by far and gets decent gas mileage if not driven like a race car. The vehicle does turn off on purpose at stops by design. This can be a big adjustment for people who have not been exposed to this type of vehicle. I couldn't be happier with the comfort, ride, technology and safety features. This is a great vehicle for gen x folks looking for a safe comfortable vehicle that's easy to get in and out of. Comparable to 2019 Forrester in size and price. I couldn't give 5 stars due to MPG and quality of leather in limited model. Still too new to rate repairs and reliability; however, I have no concerns based on the positive experience I had with prior Patriot. Update- 3+ years of ownership and still love this vehicle.

Just Returned From a Road trip.
I reviewed this vehicle earlier. I don't have any of the problems you see in other reviews. Even the maligned transmission has not been a problem for me. I had a couple of episodes of cold weather hesitation but no stalling. I can complain about the push button lock on the driver's door handle does not lock all the time. Fixable I am sure. I just got back from a 500+ road trip. Very comfortable. Got a calculated 34.77 Miles Per Gallon fuel mileage (miles covered divided by gallons replaced). That is with the 3.2 V6 with air on and one on-board. FCA, I think you need to have those EPA figures re-evaluated. All throughout the trip which was mostly rolling hill highway, I never went below an indicated 30 MPG average. Seriously what more can I say?

After 3500 miles, an excellent value
The styling of this vehicle is MUCH improved over the previous years, and is much more "Jeepey" than before. We tested the Trailhawk against the Mazda, Honda, Ford and Toyota compatriots, and for us, the Trailhawk was the clear winner. It doesn't feel like a smaller vehicle (we traded in our venerable 2006 GC), and is close to the size of the new Grand Cherokee but at a better cost point. With the 9sp Active Drive II tranny and the 3.2L engine, once you learn the shift points, it has excellent acceleration off the line; if you just mash it, you'll be disappointed. After test driving the optional 2.0L, the 3.2L is a better value (the 2.0L is $500 more and requires premium fuel) and the 3.2L seems to be a better performance fit with the tranny. Fit and finish is just fine, the seats are comfortable. The electronics, particularly the 8.4" upgraded Uconnect system we paid for, are excellent, but can take a while to learn if you've never had a vehicle with this type of stuff in it before (and please, learn it in the driveway, not on the road!!). Plenty of USB ports, roomy console and glove box storage, we like the cell phone holder in the center console. Rear storage is reasonable for the size of the vehicle; anybody who buys a smaller SUV can't expect much, realistically, from just about any of them.

Frustrated and Aggravated
Vehicle stalls out for no good reason. I am not the only one that have had this issue with this type of vehicle. I purchased my latitude in December of 2018. Everything was working good until one day I stopped at a stop sign and it didn't crank back up. I was at a busy, dangerous road on a sharp curve and it would not crank. I had to put it in park, turn it off and then turn it own again and it turned over several times before it actually crank. Drove it home and shut it off a little while and tried it again and all seemed fine until the next day. Did it again at a four-way stop. This time when it started it sounded like it wanted to sputter or shut off again. I managed to get it to the dealer and they looked at it and said it was a bad connection and fixed it. All was good until about two months later. I was leaving work for lunch and crank fine, when to pull out of parking lot, it shut off and rolled into traffic. Was able to crank and back up. Let it run for a minute, thinking it was the connection again. Pulled out and got on the road toward the dealership and it stalled again. Rolled into a parking lot and crank it sitting in a parking spot. I ran fine and was able to get it to the dealer without it doing again. They told me it was because it was time for the oil to be changed and when it gets to a certain spot the engine will shut off for protection of the engine. But why was it running fine sitting still? I was due for an oil change and was over but they told me the stick was barely touching the oil. NEVER have I had THAT MUCH oil to leak out on 10,000 miles. Dealership still sticking to saying it was the oil and because it wasn't changed. We shall see.

Elite w/ new 2.0L Turbo Engine, NOT 3.2L!
Strange that Edmunds does not include the 2.0 engine option, which is new for 2019 and will be available also on Wrangler. I have leisurely been looking at replacement options for my 2002 Saab for several years and never found a vehicle that checked so many boxes as the reworked 2019 Cherokee. It excels in so many ways if you are interested in a vehicle of its type, size and capability. Decided to switch up to something more rugged and heavy than my beloved Saab so I can take long adventurous trips feeling more secure, given so many big vehicles on the roads these days. My only concern with SUVs in general are their rollover instability compared to good sedans, so driving defensively becomes more important. Never thought I would get another Chrysler product after having a Stratus and Caravan, but the new Cherokee is just so appealing, especially in upper trim levels. Given the new engine, and past experience, I did purchase a lifetime drive train and more warranty, just in case. So far, I am very pleased and hope to enjoy this fun, utilitarian (with full size spare) and well thought out ride for many years. My wife wants one of her own right away and she has a Lexus RX330 with no issues. Door armrest interferes a bit with left knee for me (6' tall), but not as much as many other vehicles I tried out. Wish seat was a bit wider too, but it is nonetheless plush and comfortable as is although I have yet to take this Elite on a long trip. Very good headroom and ergonomics, including well thought out and implemented technology. Will give it 5 stars if I'm equally pleased after a year or two.

Jeep turns off by itself
On multiple occasions the Jeep completely stops working as I’m driving. Sometimes the hand break light turns on by itself as I’m driving and won’t let me do anything. I have to restart the car multiple times before it works again. Other times the acceleration just stops working and the car starts slowing down on its on until it comes to a full stop.

DO NOT BUY A JEEP
I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude AWD with 5 miles on it and a 6000 miles it completely quit had to tow it the the dealer and it was completely out of oil The dealership said after checking it that that was normal I'm sorry but a new car should not do that and now at 9000 miles the check engine light came on so any one wanting to buy a jeep I would not recommend it. So far the worst reliable vehicle I've ever owned.

DO NOT BUY A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE
I couldn't be more blunt in my title. Thinking of purchasing this car? Just don't do it. Unless you want to race a baby sloth. Big headline here, the baby sloth will win. We have 2800 miles on the odometer, and can't wait to trade it in. It's by far the worst vehicle I've ever owned (and I had a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder where the transmission needed to be replaced at 22000 miles). It doesn't move, the acceleration is terrible, I'm getting 13 miles to the gallon. In a 4 cylinder. 13 mpg people. Worst decision of my life. I would like to say I hate this vehicle... But, that's not strong enough. I loathe this vehicle. Heed the warnings. Skip this purchase.
Not safe
Thought it would be a safe family car... until recently when the stop/start malfunctioned when I tapped the brake and the car cut off... IN THE MIDDLE OF 5pm TRAFFIC!!!

Should Have Stayed with Ford!!!
Sent my Daughter off to college in this 2019 Jeep so I wouldn't have to worry about her 5 hours away... Boy, was I wrong!!! This vehicle was purchased new with 12 miles as has been a constant problem. The Navigation system will not track the vehicle's location, an anti theft code comes up and renders all functions inoperable, touch screen goes crazy, and bluetooth doesn't work. Have taken to dealership numerous times but since they can't duplicate the problem there is nothing they can (WILL) do. So after videoing the issues and taking in for the 5th time they will preform a few more tests. Why not just replace the radio/NAV system???? VERY DISSAPOINTED in JEEP AND THEIR ENDLESS INACTION IN THE HOPES THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY... OH BELIEVE ME WE WILL GO AWAY...RIGHT BACK TO FORD!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this vehicle.

2019 Jeep Cherokee 2.4 l engine burns oil at 20000
This car stopped on highway and almost created an accident due to low oil sensor. Found out the car is burning oil and has been an issue for all 2.4k engines. Fiat Chrysler know that this is an issue and not recalling the cars.

Let me down
I am 17. My parents and I thought this car would be a great investment considering it is a brand new(safe) car. I was thrilled at first the features are amazing, CarPlay, heated seats, heated steering wheel, google maps, etc. I never had much to complain about the way it drove. It didn’t accelerate very fast, but I never minded that. My continuous problem I had was the stalling. This vehicle stalled on me 3x making the same right hand turn. By stall I mean-engine gave out and I had to quickly move over to the side of the road with the force I had left, restart the car. This for me as a young driver was very scary and it could have been dangerous if someone took the turn behind me, and rear ended me. After I went to the dealership, they said my car was using more oil than normal which led to the car thinking it was suppose to shut off when the tank tipped on turns. Because of the obsessive oil consumption I now check up at the dealership every 1000 miles to make sure this problem does not happen again. This is so unnecessary and you should not have to do this for a brand new car. It’s an unsafe vehicle, but when I go to the dealership and make sure it’s okay I feel fine driving it, however, Chrysler has been useless in this situation and clearly won’t own up to their problems. Buy at your own risk. This problem is occurring in most of the jeeps that have the same engine regardless of model.

Is THIS Really a Jeep?
This SUV does stall out for no reason sometimes. I am an intuitive driver and I use intelligence when I drive. That means that I do not push my car to its limits or act foolish. I let the car accelerate at the appropriate time. I do not slam on the brakes or "Brake Hard". I do not push the gas pedal to the floor and speed off from zero mph. I don't ride up rocky hills and mounds and purposely "test it". I get the oil changed and regular maintenance and yet the car stills stalls. I have never even used the cruise control because I'm afraid it may cause something ELSE to happen! It slips and slides in the snow and rain. I'm wondering, WTF!? Is this a Jeep!!?? I like the prestige and the look of a Jeep, BUT I don't know WHAT I'm going to do once this lease ends. I need Form AND Function in a vehicle. I'm very conflicted at this point.

Love the Vehicle, Not Loving all the issues!
I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4wd in July 2018, it had 21 miles on it. Since then it has been in the shop for shifting issues, two recalls and now defective CV joints and other suspension/drive train issues. I love this vehicle and how it rides and hugs the road in bad weather. But it seems like I spend more time taking it in for recalls/repairs than I spend driving it. I have already put over 19,000 miles on it due to my job and I feel like the issues I'm having shouldn't happen until well after this point. The service center representative at the dealership even said he believes the CV joints/drive shafts were defective to begin with or they should have held up better. I admit, I live in an area with horrible roads, but I take my time and don't beat on my vehicle since I drive such a long distance to/from work everyday. I need something that is more reliable. So far all the repairs have been covered under warranty, thankfully! As a mother, I need a vehicle that is safe for my children and myself...I'm definitely second guessing my choice in a new vehicle.

Extremely comfortable...but that's it!
I'm three weeks into my lease of a 2019 Cherokee Limited with panoramic moonroof/nav package and 3.2L V6 engine. While the car is very smooth and quit on the highway the 9 speed auto transmission is a disaster...don't believe the review that said they reworked the algorithm for the shifting...this car can never make up it's mind in local driving. From a standing stop and accelerating from an intersection there is a terrible hesitation, almost stalling like, that makes it difficult and dangerous to try to merge with fast moving traffic. I have to manually turn off the ESP every morning when I leave home because going over speed bumps in my complex and on local streets makes the ESP kicks in and totally stalls the car for a few seconds...no matter how slow I take the bump! I wish there was an option to disable completely. On my previous car(Lincoln MKZ) the remote start had a greed/red LED indicator that confirmed whether or not the remote actually started the car...not so with the Jeep, when I use it sometime the car is running and sometimes not...don't find out till I'm actually at the car. Also the car did not come with an owners manual. Spoke to Jeep and they said it was the dealers discretion to include one or not...seriously?! Also no cargo area cover! $37,000 car and no cover included...another trip to Jeep to buy the cover for $150 onto top of the $40 for the owners manual. Oh and BTW...you will have to wait to buy a tow hitch...local dealer tells me 2019 so new that they have no part numbers or photos. If I could get out of this lease right now I would.

Mold and mildew in interior
I purchased the 2019 Latitude in mid November 2018. By Christmas I noticed the rear passenger floor board was soaked. With all the rain in our area I thought it came off shoes/boots. In January I noticed an awful smell from my purse, leather coat, etc that I put out of sight when I work. It took 2 weeks to schedule an appointment for checking the wet floor!! They kept Jeep for a week!! Dealership reported that the "robot must have ran out of sealant where the two sides of the body meet underneath". They promised the issue was fixed and replaced all carpets. The smell never went away!! Needless to say I was out of work for a week with a bad sinus infection. One month later the carpet was wet again under the front passenger seat and floor!! I was out of work again for bronchial and sinus infection. The rubber floor mats we're covered in mold and mildew. Back to the dealership it went. This time they had it for 5 weeks!!!!! They found additional leaks in wheel well and they replaced all carpets and installed a new headliner. I've had Jeep back for 10 days and afraid to drive it in the rain or wash it. Waiting for Chrysler Corporation and dealership to work out details to get into a new Jeep. Not going to tolerate additional repairs!!! The value and stability have been compromised too bad.

Transmission, cold start & radio screen
I bought my Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus 8/2018 after a month, while driving with the air conditioner on my car made a loud almost horn sound under the hood for about 30 seconds. And only happens when I use the air conditioner. During this time, I get a warm burst of air on my legs only on the drivers side. Service department said they couldn’t re enact it. No solution. My radio screen was shutting off. It needed an update for that. Problem solved. This summer of 2019 during a humid morning my car is sluggish for the first couple of minutes. Last week my transmission jerked really hard pulling into traffic, and the next day did it again mildly. I just picked it up from the service department, they said I have to wait until it is bad or a warning light comes on, they couldn’t get either problem to re enact. No solution again. So my question is, if I’m on a road trip, and get stuck in a secluded area, and it goes out, what happens? I bought the extended warranty, thankfully. But , ugh!!
Wet Carpet
Purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee December 27, 2018. Noticed in January the windows were steaming up while the vehicle was parked in the sun. In March noticed the driver side floor both front and back were wet. Contacted dealer in on April 24, 2019 to get it fixed, took more than a week to get dealer to look at it. Dealer said the issue was a seal between the door and front fender, but seal is back ordered. Almost 2 month later still not repaired. I have vacuumed out over 5 gallons of water, vehicle doesn't have 2300 mile on it.

Thought it was great at first....run away!
It's got a bunch of good qualities. The transmission is terrible. It shifts into neutral randomly. Tou have to pull over and shut it off then turn it back on to get it to work again! I wont let my wife drive it because of that. There isn't an option for the 2.0 turbo on here but that's what I have.

Limited V6: We love it!
So i read a lot of the reviews on the 2018 and a lot of people were complaining about inline-4. That was reason for me to get the V6. The Jeep was a replacement for our 2016 Mazda CX5, which we had leased. In comparison between the two, we love the feel of the Jeep a lot more. It's more comfortable inside, has a more solid ride, the transmission is more responsive. We love the sunroof btw. The only drawbacks I see on the Jeep is the small gas tank and poorer MPG. That combined means more trips to the pump. Other than that, I have no complaints. We have had it for 8 months now, and (knock on wood) no issues so far. If possible, I'll update the review in a year or two to see if any problems come up

2019 to 2023 perfect
The 2019 has lots of new features I like over my 2017. Android Auto, capless fueling, LED headlights, and great new wheels. I have the Overland package which includes the V6, Leather interior, and two tone trims on 19 inch radials. Update, in 2020 this Jeep continues to excel. I haven't spent a dime on repairs and I really love the ride, sound system and advanced technology. Update 2024-revisiting my review and tell you the Cherokee has been flawless over 5 years after buying it. No repairs whatsoever I Love it!
