HORRIBLE SUV DO NOT BUY
I bought my Jeep Cherokee at the end of 2019. I've had it not even 7mo. and I have to say this car is a SAFETY HAZARD! This vehicle stalled on me 6-8x, and when I took it to get serviced, I was told by a Jeep employee that I need to carry oil around with me and top it off every 4-5 tanks of gas and that the stalling was a safety feature (how???). I've had several cars, and even the ones that were older models never had this issue. I have a toddler, and we almost got into an accident when this vehicle randomly stalled in a roundabout. I also will randomly get a light for the start/stop function needing serviced, and a low voltage indicator when I start my car. My battery was tested..."said" to be okay. This car is a safety hazard for anyone in it. I am scared to drive this car, use the start/stop feature, or simply push on the accelerator/brake harder than normal. I attempted reaching out to Jeep, and they are useless. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Get a safe vehicle. Do your research if you are considering this vehicle. Why hasn't Jeep issued a recall for this stalling issue? They will have a major lawsuit on their hands, one day.

Best car I've owned in a long time
I have no idea what other people are saying so far my Jeep has not had a problem with anything. The ride is nice and comfortable easy to get in and out. It is a big step up from my old car. I can't wait to try the 4 wheel drive just waiting on some snow. And I know others that have the same year that have not had a problem with their Jeep

Things to know
The window wiper design is horrible. The passenger wiper comes all the way over to the driver side. It stops at angle which goes right across the field of forward vision of the driver. When raining, the driver is always thrown in a blur (that comes and goes). When snowing, when salt has been on the road, the driver's vision is obscured by the white film on the windshield going across the field of vision. The defrost is horrible. In certain conditions, the windshield and front side windows (driver and passenger) do no get entirely cleared. There remains a 2 to 3 inch area around the edges of those windows (front and sides) that do not clear. The back passenger windows remain entirely fogged. This is an accident waiting to happen.

Senior citizen delight
This is not the smoothest riding automobile out there but it will darn sure get you from point a to point b and back again. The Jeeps have never let us down. A couple of years ago we got caught in a blizzard in Green Bay Wisconsin. Of course nothing uncommon about that. But what was noticeable is that we was able to get around anywhere we wanted and others just sat. The U-Connect system is a breeze to learn and operate and if you can't find a certain subject or object you don't need it. Will continue with Jeeps as long as I the DMV continues to give me a divers license.

2019 4cylinder jeep cherokee
This has been really good and reliable jeep,it will be 1yr since i bought in August 2018. I have no issues with this car its been a great buy, bought it for my wife. Love the new design and the lights led are great additions, overall i love it my self. The only other thing i just remembered is that gas mileage for this 4cyl is pretty low for it being 2.4L. It gives me about 21mpg in the city and Hwy is great over 29mpg..like i said overall its a great car.

TOO MUCH TECHNOLOGY
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is way too heavy with unnecessary whiz bang technology which appears to be geared to impressing potential buyers rather than for practical utility. Retiring after forty-four years as a commercial pilot I still serve as a volunteer on the FAA Safety Team. I navigated when we used Loran (all numbers no graphics) long before GPS. Suffice it to say dealing with technology is not an alien concept to me. When the new Jeep Cherokee Latitude was purchased for my wife to drive, it took me three days to figure out the operation of the radio (entertainment system, if you please) and the air conditioner/heater (climate system, if you please). I don’t need multiple diverse methods of turning on the front windshield defroster, one will do. As I am now severely handicapped the Cherokee is easy to enter and exit, and it provides a comfortable ride. My walker fits in the back, however there is some question as to this issue when the $300 full sized spare tire we ordered goes in the back. I have little faith in “donut” spare tires, every car we’ve ever had with a “donut” has had it replaced with a real tire for sake of safety and my own peace of mind. We don’t want to be a couple of hundred miles from home wondering whether we can limp back on a make believe “space saver” spare tire. We’ve had the new car only a week so we’re just getting to know it. The on board electronics package features a trip computer which supposedly displays average trip MPG and instantaneous current MPG. The 13.5 gal gas tank with its electronic thermometer type fuel quantity indicator are both a joke. Indicating slightly less than half full we topped off the fuel tank. The 13.5 gallon tank needed over nine gallons to be filled. The electronic gas gauge is a joke. Depending on it could be a disaster. We’ve concluded that a fuel fill is mandatory as soon as the fuel indicator drops below an indicated half tank. The fuel economy indicator display is likely on board as a marketing tool rather than for practical utility. Using 0W-20 motor oil the Jeep oil fill access is down in a well leading to spills. They got the oil fill wrong, it should be an access slightly raised above the surrounding engine cover. When picking up the new car we attempted to buy an extra quart of oil to keep in the car, since this oil, is not readily available. The selling dealer didn’t have a single quart to sell us. I went on line to order enough oil for the first couple of oil changes. My wife is happy with the car and she can park it easily which is a definite plus. I can enter and exit it without difficulty, however I will not drive that car. Our adult son said he wants nothing to do with it either. As a result of seeing the technology laden 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude he announced plans for a frame up total restoration of his current 1997 Jeep Cherokee. One would anticipate his interest in the high tech new car as he is a computer repair technician. Unfortunately the Jeep people feel it is necessary for the public to have a 200+ page glove compartment owner’s guide along with the availability of an additional 600+ page .PDF file downloadable from the internet. In spite of all this data, there is no explanation why the cigarette lighter receptacle is designated with the icon of a key. For the life of me I can’t figure out why two electronic USB ports are located inside the closable center arm rest console. The 2019 Cherokee Latitude is a handsome and comfortable car, but cargo space behind the rear seat is absolutely minimal. Our previous regular Jeep Cherokees have room for a full sized spare along with a steamer trunk. The 2019 Cherokee Latitude appears to have been designed for marketing acceptance rather than for utility. My wife likes it and is comfortable driving it, which is fine, while our son and I drive less technology intense cars. It is my belief that this is not an automobile I would buy for myself because of an over abundance of unnecessary technology. The massive “Uconnect” electronic installation causes me to recall that recently I spent 30 minutes replacing the AM/FM radio in one of my Dodge trucks (cost for a new radio was $60). I might be more receptive to the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude if it wasn’t loaded with a bewildering and mind numbing array of fancy electronics. I shudder to think of the repair costs of a dealer shop session. It’s a nice car for my wife, but I’ll never drive it, nor will our son.

It’s a Lemon
I purchased my Jeep Cherokee Limited brand new in 2019. Before 30,000 miles I already had to replace windshield wipers, two headlights, a fog light, both key fob batteries (although one hangs in my house and is never used), rear brakes, and 6 (YES 6) tires due to an issue with the rim causing constant flat tires. I also have an issue with a jerking steering wheel while driving at highway speeds that apparently no Jeep repair center can seem to figure out. I live in Wisconsin so I can’t even drive my Jeep in the winter because the jerking steering will cause me to lose control on icy/snowy roads. Jeep will not help me with this issue despite still being under warranty. My touch screen sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t, and my USB connections are faulty and go in and out. Jeep repair centers say they can’t recreate the issue which I know is BS because it’s constant. This vehicle is a lemon and Jeep doesn’t stand behind their products. I should not have to put this much money into maintenance of a vehicle before 30,000 miles.
Everything I wanted in a new car
My Overland model has an incredible number of options at a great price. The Overland is heavily discounted due to the fact the NSRP is close to the price of a well appointed Grand Cherokee.
Iffy SUV
I have one of the 75th year anniversary model. it has a 4 cylinder engine, which is not good (my opinion). The acceleration SUCKS. The cargo space is small and similar to the compass, even the Grand Cherokee is similar to the Cherokee, I thought I wanted a Jeep.Cherikee but I am disappointed. I feel that too many were made in general. The car isn't that great to Make an abundance of them.

Horrible transmission problems!!
I bought a 2019 High Altitude with the 2.0T engine and at 456 miles every light and error message come on as I'm driving it and then it just stopped. I had it towed to the dealer and they said it was the transmission. They replaced the transmission and 4 days after getting car back the same thing happened. It's been in the shop for over a month now and they're waiting on a new transmission from the factory, again. I owned it just over 2 months and have only had it a total of 9 days in my possession.

So far so good
I have owned my Cherokee for 3 weeks and LOVE it! I have the 6cyl. Latitude Plus and am really happy with the handling and pickup it has. I have owned a 98 Grand Cherokee and an 06 Liberty and thought both were very uncomfortable. Never thought I would buy another Jeep but really liked the style of the '19 Cherokee and gave it a test drive. The rest is history! So far my favorite vehicle I have ever owned

2.0 Liter Love
Bought mine in August of ‘18, upgrading from a brand new Chevy Trax that was having so many issues, and what a world of difference. This is such a smooth riding and handling vehicle. I live in the middle of Wyoming where the snow gets crazy and 98% of the time I don’t realize the roads are bad until someone in front of me starts sliding all over the place. The 4WD in this this is insane. Performs amazing off-road as well. I’m not going to lie, when I bought this thing I was like yeah, yeah, it has 4WD/AWD, it will be just like every vehicle that claims the same. Glad to report I was wrong. This is the most spacious, loaded, smooth riding, all-weather vehicle I could’ve bought for the price. This thing has gone through several road trips for work so far and I’ve had zero issues. My only real complaint is that acceleration is a bit laggy (but not enough to bug me with running errands and road trips), don’t think you’ll ever shoot a gap in this thing, and that the front seats aren’t that comfortable after a few hours of driving. I think I’m officially hooked on Jeeps!

Dangerous car, stay way.....
Bought the 2019 Cherokee in December 2018, has only 13,900 miles and already is towed twice( thinking that I always wanted to have a Jeep, after driving Nissan, Mazda and Honda...worst experience eveeeeeer....) !!!!First time happened was on July 5, after got out of supermarket in the parking lot, the car couldn't start..tried turning on and off but the car was shaking more and more..it felt that the shifting gear wasn't working. Towed and brought it to the dealership, three days after they told me my car was all set to go, they had to replace the fuel injector!!!!, But, not true..second time was even worse, on July 13, me and my husband were driving on Rt 1 North, while driving on highway had to reduce the speed on a settle of lights , the car starts shaking again, while driving, ...so I had to pull over RIGHT WAY, on the side of the highway..engine light was on, a Service Electronic Stability Control was on, 4WD System Temporarily Unavailable was on, lightning bolt warning on..the car was really really hot in the front, where the engine is...so what is going on?? Called AAA again, brought to the dealership and after they checked it they say that the PCV line was loose causing all issues, which that was on them and they were sorry.. Is the problem solved though!! I'm really concerned!!!

Comfortable and Sporty
Bought a 2019 Trail hawk 4X4 last year and I have 11,000 miles on it. I absolutely like the comfort and the Jeep is easy to maneuver on the Freeway and around town. I have not had any issues and I hope to keep this for a long time (10 plus years).

60000 miles strong!
I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited in August of 2018. I never liked the way the previous version looked. I just wasn't a fan of the headlight situation. When the refreshed version came out I instantly wanted it. At the dealership almost every Cherokee on the lot was completely loaded. So I just chose my favorite color. I was impressed with the vast amount of options. I love the ventilated seats, auto high beams and wipers, very quiet interior, and pano sunroof. The ride is amazing. I've had so many people compliment me on how smooth it rides. This will be 5 years of ownership. And I have never once had a service issue. At least not something serious. I see some moisture in my tail lights but typically it's not an ongoing problem because I park in a garage. I've replaced my battery. The uconnect was a little finicky when I first bought it but I've received several over the air updates. My most recent over the air update was about a month ago. And my lane keep and adaptive cruise control seem to be more precise. Especially the lane keep it tends to keep me more in the middle of the lane. My nav was updated with a new search bar. Which makes it so much easier. Obviously the 9-speed transmission is not wonderful. It's not horrible either. It just takes some getting used to. I love that I got the turbo, the noise level can be a little annoying. But right now I'm averaging about 27 miles per gallon. Doing mostly highway driving. The Cherokee as we know it is officially done, as the plant just closed. Rumor has it the Cherokee will come back as the Liberty with battery and hybrid variations. Until then, I plan to love mine and hope to see it click over to 200,000 🥰🥰🥰

Transmission Shifting
Over the last few months have been expecting issues where the transmission is have trouble shifting. Sometimes it will shift and then other times it will shift inadvertently. Basically it does not know when to shift. I have brought it back to the dealer three times because still under warranty and each time they have told me that it needed a software update but after each update its fine for a few days and then the transmission starts acting up again. The dealer said the the 9 speed transmission is jerky jerky and that it is a design flaw on how the gears are designed. The said they used 90 degree angle gears instead of V shaped gears which is the reason why the transmission doesn't shift properly. If this is know then why isn't it being addressed. So like every other owner I will continue to fight with the dealership to address the situation.

Can't Trust Driving it
Only 40,000 Km (15,500 miles) and it's dead in the water. The PTU failed on it. It's now been over a month waiting for repairs. My problem now is that I cannot trust driving this car because of the failure. I do camping - 50-100miles in the bush - can't trust using this car because of this failure. It may look pretty - but it is way more devilish that that. Just cant' trust Jeeps. UPDATE: I purchased this Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - was supposed to be my last car - to last me a while. As it turns out - it has been nothing more that problems after problems. First the Steering column needed replacing at 3,000 km. Then the front rotors needed replacement after 12,000 km (rusted out) Then at 46,000 km - the rear PTU failed - rusted from within the unit. It was in the shop from May until the end of August. And still not repaired. Gave up and bought a Mazda.

Love my Jeep, well maybe like it a lot
The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is a great SUV for the price although I do have some issues with it. I have been a Ford guy my whole life but switched to Jeep after Ford shifted some manufacturing to China. The Jeep Cherokee is made in the USA and has one of the highest percentages of US parts and that is why I switched. After 3 years I have had no problems except that I had to replace the brakes front and back after 33,000 miles which is a quality issue in my opinion since I never had to replace the brakes with any of my 8 Ford leases. But hey, Buffalo winters can be tough on cars with all the salt we have to put down on the roads. I am still looking to lease another Jeep Cherokee because it will get me to the ski resort.

Maintenance is EVIL
Yes, it drives great and off-road is most definitely a major highlight, but it’s by far the hardest car to work on I’ve ever had. You can tell they did really bad things to get you into the shop. If I didn’t do my own work, I would have sunk minimum $5k in one year. I’m selling it asap and going back to Subaru. MUCH more reliable and easier to work on.

Comfortable roller skate on wheels
This car has comfort, sleek design. However, the tires that the factory gives you when you purchase this vehicle are not good for winter driving. If you aren't leasing like I did, I suggest you get a good all-season tire put on. ALSO, if you are taller or a bigger person, you will not fit comfortably. My husband is a bigger guy and his knees were in his chin. No legroom in the back.

One of the best vehicles I've ever owned
Into this vehicle around a month now and everything has worked very, very well. My rating on reliability is only based on that month, so take that for what you will. This Jeep rides well, feels solid, and is easy to enter and exit. I sold a Mercedes coupe, so the differences have been astonishing, though I've had medium sized SUV's before. I had test driven a 4-cyl model (not a Trailhawk) and it was fine, despite what a lot of folks in these reviews seem to think. But I wanted what the Trailhawk offered and those seem to be delivered to dealer only with a 6-cyl engine. Good solid engine, which I know has been around a while, and it is more than enough, but poor gas mileage. Other than that, I am loving this car. Also, the dealer and the salesman were both very helpful. Ask me in a year what I think.

Hurry Up & Wait - Throttle & Transmission Issues
After my 2014 Nissan Rogue had 7 warning lights come on while my cruise control canceled itself driving back from a weekend with family about 3 hours away at 11:30pm & having to have it towed to the local Nissan dealership, we ended up buying a 2019 Jeep Cherokee with only 10,000 miles. At 15,000 miles, it is now sitting in a parking lot waiting to be towed in the morning because the throttle is malfunctioning & it’s making grinding sounds (along with the lurching I have since read is also something other owners have dealt with). The ETC warning light never even came on, it just sort of grunted & refuses to go over 30 mph while I was coming home from work. After I pulled over to the side of the road to figure out what the heck was happening (still no warning light), I turned the car off and back on to see if maybe a warning light would stay on, but it only briefly flashed in the lower left corner of the dashboard, even when I had to drive it to get it to a parking lot. It flashed briefly for the first 1-2 seconds after I would turn it off and then back on, then it went out like all the other warning lights. Curious to see how the dealership handles this, because I’m livid.

Loved my Jeep!
This 2019 Jeep was mine and I actually loved it but it was a lease. I never had one problem with the Jeep. The ride was luxury compared to other cars and no problems getting around in the snow. Unfortunately I cannot afford a new Jeep at this time, but the 2019 Jeep was awesome with no problems. All services were up to date and every option performed perfectly! Let me tell you it definitely has a lot of power. Loved it!!

GET THE DI TURBO 4 CYLINDER ENGINE
The 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine sucks and the V6 is better but BY FAR the best engine is the 4 CYLINDER TURBO its peppy fun and it completely negates the shortfalls of the 9 speed auto and the suspension is by far the best on the trailhawk. Gas mileage I've gotten is around 26 combined which while not great, is not a big deal for me.

Stalled Vehicle
I purchased a 2019 Jeep Cherokee in February 2018 with 7 miles on it. I was told newer vehicles could be serviced for an oil change at roughly 5000 miles. I was driving and noticed when I made turns the car would shut off. At this time it’s winter season my thoughts were it’s cold maybe it hasn’t completely warmed up. The problem continued as I was on the hwy exiting off a ramp the car just shut down. I had the vehicle towed I was told it was a valve, so this happens again now I’m at 40% oil level didn’t think I needed an oil change for another 1000 miles. So I got an order change. I was told the company would watch and review the car for oil consumption levels. This was 2 months ago at 3000 miles my car is cutting out again. At 55% oil level.
Jeephers
The gas mileage is awesome. If I drive the soles limit I can get up to 33.1 easily. Storage is great and it’s a handy car. I hate to get rid of it but have a boy that is 6.2 and growing quickly so o need a little more leg room for the future.

Awesome Jeep
After having this Jeep for only a few days, I have to say that I absolutely love it. The Stark White is beautiful and the leather interior is a dream.
Latitude V6 FWD
I originally got this car after my previous car was totaled. Overall, I love my Jeep. It definitely handles turns and drives very well. I’ve owned a turbocharged car before and will never go back to turbo, it’s super slow in accelerating. My jeep accelerates great for a V6 SUV. Also has a very smooth ride. It also has plenty of room in the backseat for a child seat. My only complaints are the cloth seats and lack of button for opening the trunk. I will say I have put 68k miles on it and have just started hearing a thud every once in a while. I asked a friend that had a similar issue and was told it could be requiring some kind of update to the transmission. The battery has barely gone into protection mode, as in the Assisted off/on feature is turned off. The brakes are slightly starting to be heard. I have changed tires and given an alignment so far. I’ve been keeping up regularly with oil changes, so no issues there so far. MPG is really good, even without the assisted off/on. It would’ve been nice to at least have the remote start for the base model. The little rubber spring of the gas door did break off, so no clue as to how to repair that. I would definitely recommend this trim and car to someone who doesn’t mind not having the luxury features. It’s definitely dependable, good on gas, and comfortable for road trips 3-6 hours. Extra features like adding leather seats or a sunroof are optional with the dealership. $1,200 was what I was quoted for the leather seats.

Not spectacular
In comparison to my 2015 Dodge Journey (which was fabulous) the 2019 Trailhawk has been a considerable disappointment. Lacks adequate trunk space (passengers & suitcases attempt was a crammed in nightmare), mediocre fuel economy, all terrain tires that came without the snow rating, center console broke inside of a week, and inadequate space overall. Far less bang for the buck than what I had with the Journey.
Great vehicle
I have the V6 4x4 model and am VERY happy with it (hint - buy the V6, not the I-4 models). Very comfortable, easy to drive and park, and the transmission is smooth. Also PLENTY of power from the V6, and it has a great sound quality to it. So far I'm averaging 30-31mpg on the highway (no exaggeration....driving 70). Unbelievably good mpg for a V6 SUV that's only rated for 27 on the highway. My 2012 and 14 Chargers was the same way - both got better mileage than advertised. My only complaint is road noise. I would describe it as average, but definitely not a deal breaker considering everything else that's great about the vehicle. I would definitely recommend looking at this vehicle if you're looking for a smaller midsize SUV that you can comfortably drive every day

Jeep grand cherokee
Bought my first 2014 jeep 5 yrs ago after always having a Ford for 30 yrs. Loved that car. Felt safe & secure in it. Comfort excellent. Winter driving was the best. Traded it againfor a 2019 jeep grand cherokee overland with all the bells & whistles again. Absolutely loved this car to until the winter months. The tires that are all season like my last jeep were absolutely terrible in the snow. Do not feel safe with these tires at all. When you pay a lot of money to have everything on a car, good tires should be a part of the package. I'm rating the car a 2 because of this. Everything else is great about this car however when you live in a state with 5 months of snow, feeling safe in your vehicle is a number 1 priority. I don't feel this in this car this time. Very disappointed . The dealership & salesman , they're the best. Have never had any problem with him. Have gone to him for many years & he has always done us good. He's not to blame on this rating, it's Jeep themselves

Blind spot between left mirror and post
It has a great ride, very comfortable. The 2.4 engine is a little lacking but more than adequate. Handles very nice and has great visibility. This is my 4th new Cherokee-84'-93'-99', I still have my 99'. Keep building them and I'll keep buying them.

This is a great Jeep
I have seen others say that Jeep Cherokee has all these problems. I bought this new 2019 and I have no issues and the car is fantastic. I have the 6cyld and it moves and accelerates great. I have the vinyl seating which feels great and seems more durable than leather. we have another Jeep at 170,000 mile the car is great the leather seats are shot. I find the Cherokee has plenty of room in the back and for seating. It tows my trailer for fishing and stores my gear fine. This Jeep does sit lower to the ground more like a car. Maybe even like a hybrid without the hybrid weird look? I am very satisfied with this car and the gas mileage I get mixed use is about 22mpg. Highway is closer to 29mpg.

Greatest Cherokee yet
Superb power and reliability, 2.0T wasn’t an option in review model but my 4x4 comes with amazing off-road and snow capability. 0-60 in 6 seconds flat, great passing gears. 2.4 Compass 2020 has been just as great. 42,000 miles on the Cherokee 0 complaints.
