This vehicle is great in the winter with 4WD, and handles nicely anyh other time. The fuel economy is bad with this vehicle. Having a straight-6 engine takes a lot of gas, but if you can afford it the towing capacity is worth it.

I have had good luck with my Cherokee. No problems other than routine maitenance. If you are into the outdoors this is a great vehicle. I have gone through things I wouldn't dare with other vehicles. And the Cherokee is just the perfect size; you're able to haul stuff with the back seat taken out but can also manuever around downtown easily unlike some enormous SUVs.

I bought my jeep new in '98. I now have 104,000 miles on it, and the only problem I have has is a power window motor. I use it offroad on the beach quite a bit, and have yet to get it stuck. It has been the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned. I plan to buy another one for my son as soon as he gets his licence

Well.... If your reading this you're probably looking to buy one. I've owned a 1995 Cherokee Country, 2000 cherokee and now I just bought a 1998 Cherokee Sport and it's a cream puff. The Jeep is a trully on/off road vehicle.EX: Blizzard of 1996 (Remember)almost 4ft of snow and guess what I was pulling Ford's and Chevy's out of snow banks after they spun out and ended up on the side of the road stranded. It's a rough ride but one of the most reliable vehicles on the Market. If your looking for a soft and Luxury ride buy a Lexus or Lincoln water bed.

I've had the Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 3 years. I haven't had any REAL BIG problems yet. One major thing to keep in mind: it makes a humming sound in the rear. I heard it's a common problem with the JGC's. The cab is extremely noisy, especially in the back seat. The 4WD also takes about a 1/4 mile to 'pop' back into 2WD. Taking corners on the 4WD is also a chore. Overall, I like the Jeep and would consider buying another, just beware of the 'hum', it will drive you NUTS!!
