Great car
Got the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Limited. This car is loaded with technology. All the bells and whistles. Like driving a Lexus with all the options at a much lower cost. Beautiful styling inside and out. Drives great!

Unique styling with great feature set and tech
Purchased a 2022 Sonata SEL. The styling can be polarizing but I think it has a great look from most angles. The SEL is the sweet spot in the Sonata line. You get the unique daytime running lights, auto air, power driver's seat, heated seats and the full Hyundai safety suite including radar cruise. It rides well, is quiet and has plenty of power with the NA engine. (fuel economy is also good at 27/37 mpg EPA). You even get a real spare tire! Highly recommended. If your plan on purchasing this vehicle do so quickly as the 2023 SEL sticker is increasing by $1225! The only change I can see is an upgrade from the 8" MMI to the 10.25 ". Most Sonatas are currently built in Korea, the Kia K5 is built in the USA.

2021 Sonata N Line. I didn't want to like it..
When it comes to a daily driver, I have several parameters. I won't spend over 40G. I won't lease. And at 6ft 2 with nerve damaged legs from my battle with cancer, legroom and seat comfort are paramount. Comfort is also an extremely subjective category. What works for you might not work for me, and vice versa. Accord Sport/Touring seats don't work for me. Camry in TRD trim is too "Fast & Furious" for me. Altima has a CVT trans and horribly uncomfortable driver's seat for me. I was considering a K5 GT but none to be found locally. Figured I'd drive a Sonata N Line to get a feel for the package and scratch it off my list. I was not a huge fan of the 2020 exterior redesign although it slowly grew on me. And it does look better in N Line trim. I had a few cars on my list to spend a few days looking at and driving. The N Line was the closest so I started there. Sat in it for a bit and the driver's seat worked for me. Salesman threw a tag on it and told me to go have fun. Within a mile I was impressed. Twenty minutes later when I returned, I told the salesman to make me an offer I couldn't refuse. I drive it home 90 minutes later. The ride is firm but not harsh. It's definitely quieter than the previous generation Sonata. Handles great. Faster than a Hyundai should be allowed to be. The dual clutch transmission is fantastic. I've owned two dozen or so cars over the years, several German. I've never been approached about any of them the way I've been with this car. Seven weeks with it as I write this and I've been approached by strangers nearly two dozen times. Some knowing what the N Line is. Some asking if it's a Genesis or an Audi. Some genuinely not knowing what it could be. Gripes? Wish it had memory settings for the driver's seat. Wish it had ventilated seats although so far I really don't miss them. The light sensor for the auto headlights is beyond sensitive. I can barely clear going under an average overpass at highway speeds without the lights coming on in barely two seconds. Honestly, that's it. I don't regret my decision and I look forward to driving it every day. UPDATE 4/23/2022 Just over 20,000 miles in. Thermostat was replaced back in January. It was stuck open so wasn't really getting much heat. Other than that, routine oil changes, engine and cabin air filters, and replaced the tires only due to personal preference. I wasn't a fan of the Pirellis. A couple of 500 mile days with road trips. Still get asked what kind of car it it frequently. Fit and finish still like new. 4/25/2024 UPDATE. Three years and 48,000 miles at the moment. Nothing but routine maintenance. Still tight as a drum. No creaks/rattles. Recently drove nearly 1000 miles in a day moving cross country with my cat and dog. Stellar road trip vehicle.

Bought an N-Line a month ago - Great car
I research my cars for a year or so before buying, and was particularly interested in the Sonata N-Line and the KIA K5 GT, both built on the same platform and mechanically identical. The KIA GT has a lower MSRP but all the cars I found for sale came with the $4000 GT1 package, which jumps the MSRP up over $35K compared to 33K for the Sonata N-Line that includes all the GT1 features in the MSRP. Those 12 BOSE speakers are very nice! The question: Is this a family sedan or a muscle car? My answer is that it's family sedan with teeth. The first impression of the car, riding high on the 19-inch tires, is that it's big. My previous car was a 2017 Sonata Eco, and when I told my wife that the N-Line was identical in length and width, she said, "No way, this is a much bigger car." It was only when she saw that it fit into the same space in the garage as my 2017 that she believed the dimensions were the same. I've owned some muscle cars in the past and most of them made you drive them hard. They just weren't that smooth at low speeds. The N-Line is not that way at all. Drive it with a light touch and you'll get 28 MPG combined and it's just as smooth and elegant as can be. But when you want the power, it's there. This car won't ever be described as tossable but you can take it into a curve fast and it will hold the line. I frankly don't plan to try to beat others off the line all that often, as the car burns rubber easily and I plan to hold onto to those expensive 19-inchers for a while. But the temptation can be hard to resist. Yesterday a guy with a tricked-out Mercedes came up beside me at a light and started gunning his engine. I didn't bother switching to Sport mode and started off the line lightly to avoid burning rubber. He got out a little ahead but I blew him away easily. Get the N Line up to 1650 RPM gently and then step on it and it will fly. The Mercedes chased me around for awhile trying to do it again and I just ignored him. Guess he just couldn't believe his hot car was clobbered by a Hyundai. But where the N-Line is particular impressive is in mid-range acceleration. Its goes from 60 to 100 so quickly, quietly and smoothly that you almost don't believe it's that fast. I really like the sleeper aspect of the car. I like to use the power just occasionally, like when you're cruising down an on-ramp to the interstate with a nice fat space waiting for you, and some jerk decides to speed up and cut you off. Or when someone is doing 55 in the fast lane in a 70 MPH zone and you need to go around. Or just pulling out and passing on a one-lane highway. The N-Line gets the job done easily and smoothly. Look at the cars with equivalent horsepower, DCT, brakes, suspension, safety features and amenities, and you'll find most of them run $20 to $30 K more. If you need baby-butt leather and wood paneling, you'll have to buy the more expensive car. The N line, despite nice seats and red stitching, looks like a Hyundai inside. But the exterior is beautiful and the features are awesome. It's the right car for someone like me who wants the power and comfort but doesn't believe in paying $20K for the hood ornament.
Brand new N Line in Quartz White
have had this 2022 N-Line Sonata a bit less than a month now.. best deal in the market right now. Rides like German sport sedan, most of the time. when it’s dry and flat outside( south florida) it’s in Sport+. when it rains I go to Sport mode. It can keep up with anyone out there. Looks sharp, fit and finish is great, has everything you need, including burying you in your comfy seat when you mash it. its a 4 series, C-Class, or S, for thousands less. It has heated seats , but wish they were ventilated. That is literally the only thing I miss. Its a great car, drive it before everyone realizes what they can get for < $35K.. UPDATE: This car has great tech, plenty of room, great looks and one of the quickest cars on the road. It’s a bargain and a real steal in N line trim. Would buy again.

Amazing options
This is my fourth Sonata. They keep adding more and more features as standard equipment. Although the SE is the cheapest model, for a few dollars more the SEL adds more electronics, lane avoidance/collision avoidance and nicer interior and exterior add ons. Comfortable interior seating and power drivers side also part of the package. Special wheels and tires give it a sharp look. I paid extra for red paint but I think the car stands out in red or black. Three years free maintenance now included in the price. Very good rebates in effect now and the warranty is second to none. Although this car is a "sister" to the Kia K5, Kia offers no significant rebates.

This car is very enjoyable to drive. I am 69 years old but still enjoy a thrill . The car is quick especiallay in sport mode. This is a uniquie car you will enjoy to drive if have any skills left.
Best Value for the Money
I am more of a tech guy and all the bells and whistles in this car makes me smile everytime I drive. Before this, I had a 2020 Accord Sport and material quality on that was better but this car’s tech is on another level.

Engine failure 2022
Great car bought in November, 21 nice driving on interstate. 18 months later hear ticking sound take in they say #2 cylinder failed. Been a week haven't heard a dang thing
Unexpected performance in a nicely styled package
IThis is my first Hyundai and I am blown away. I've owned Hondas, Fords and Volvos. I've been familiar with the brand since they were introduced in the U.S. The promise of cheap transportation was what gave them a foothold in the market. Well, they kept improving their product and offering models with the latest technology and with designs that are fresh. I recently purchased the '22 Sonata N Line and I am thoroughly impressed. The performance this car delivers is mind blowing. 290 hp and the torque you'd expect from a truck. The fit and finish of the materials inside is excellent. But, it's the value of the complete package that I found impressive. You get and awful lot for your money. 19' wheels, panoramic sunroof, great seats with bolsters that a NASCAR drive would appreciate. This is a gorgeous car. I was looking at different brands and models and when I saw the '22 Sonata and read about the N Line package, I quickly decided to go out and get it. We literally purchased the only one available in NH at the time. And the color, Portofino Gray, is very classy. Immediately after the purchase we go for a longer drive than the test drive. It just got better and better. The Pirelli P Zero tires are fantastic. The power when in Sport mode is amazing. In Sport +, which disables the traction control, you will get some wheel spin if you get heavy on the pedal. The steering tightens up and the suspension stiffens. It becomes an entirely different car. It just seems to have endless power and traction. I still can't believe I am this impressed with a Hyundai Sonata. The only downside of the purchase is that it it's my wife's car. I don't get to drive it every day... I'm thinking about getting one for myself now...

2022 Sonata SEL 2.5L
This Sonata SEL is what ever you want it to be, it's classy, sporty, economical, comfortable seats (ignore professional reviewers). I've had this Sonata for over 10 months and driven it Michigan Upper Peninsula and to the southern Gulf of Mexico twice and averaged 38 to 42 miles per gallon on highway, I now have 14,000 miles on it now. Sonata is easy to drive and don't get tired driving it. Nice cruiser! If you want one don't settle for "SE" a little bit more $, get the "SEL". I would avoid the 1.6 Liter Turbo Engine because of reliability later in vehicle life and not much difference in Power to the 2.5 liter 4 (MPI/GDI) (UPDATE 7-23-24) 41,000 miles so far, NO Problems or Issues. Changing oil/filter every 5,000 miles

If I knew then what I know now
I own a 2021 Sonata SEL, white with the panoramic roof. There is no question about the appearance of this car. I get compliments about it all the time. The interior is nice and well thought out. But, I didn't buy this car just to look good I needed a reliable car that I could count on. I'm sorry to say that reliable hasn't happened for me. Currently it has 17, 000 miles on it and a huge list of problems. Intermittent starting problems, front defogger doesn't work, steering wheel worm gear bad, lights on control panel fade in and out, display screen goes black, the remote lock doesn't work it says I have an open door and I don't, bluelink doesn't work etc. All these are covered under warranty but what good is a warranty if you have to wait a month and a half to get an appointment for service? There are 3 dealerships in my area and they are all like that. I can't even get an oil change without waiting over a month. Meanwhile I can't count how many times I have had to try for over an hour to get it to start. Here's the icing on the cake! When I do take it in next week the service advisor told me it may be there for "awhile" and they don't have loaner cars. So I will be taking public transit while my car is in the shop for who knows how long. I am beyond frustrated and regret buying this car. On the bright side it does look good while it's breaking down.

2022 Hyundai Sonata SEL Rocks It (Mostly) !
Sharp looks, but it's a love/hate thing with the catfish grill. I particularly like it. Sharp looking car with a lot of extras, given the price. Roomy. I have found the 27-City and 37-Highway to be spot on accurate. Noting, if I am driving 60-65 or so and not 75-80.... My, my. Looking at 45 mpg in that scenario. True Stop/Go the mpg is about 22-28. Good size trunk, nothing spectacular. I will say it would be nice to have a little bit more "kick" when I step on the accelerator. The Sonata-SEL is not slow, but it's most certainly not a Speed Demon by any means.

Lemon
Like others have reported. Multiple electronic faults. The car dangerously shuts off while driving & the front collision breaking sytem randomly tries to stop the car. I’ve owned the car 4 months. All 4 payments have been made while the car sits in service. The service department has no idea what’s happening. I am in the final stages of a lemon law buy back.

Great Car, Loaded with Technology! Wife Loves it.
I have been looking at several new vehicles the last 3 months. We have owned dozens of cars over the years and when you can be somewhat picky, it can make the decision process a bit daunting. After looking at many many vehicle's, the Sonata Limited seem to fit the bill.

Problems before evn titled
UPDATE AS OF 7/3/21: My car has now been in the shop over 2 weeks. We have contacted Serra Hyundai. The manager, initials J.P., said we would have a resolution by 6/30. We haven't heard from him. We were also told that after putting a claim in through Hyundai, we will receive a call within 10 days. No call. After 2 weeks in the shop, we were called to come pick up the car. It messed up when we started to leave as soon as it was started up. It is STILL in the shop. At this point, it has been in the shop longer than out of the shop. So, after buying the car on 6/3, I drove it for 12 days before breaking down. Please don't waste your time buying from this dealership. If you have a problem with your car, they will NOT help you. UPDATE: After taking the car to my local dealership, the code that is being found that goes with these problems, was given PRIOR to me buying the car. It was cleared out the day I bought it. Bought a brand new 2021 sonata limited. Within 2 weeks, it has messed up 5 times! The dashboard lights up like Christmas morning with warning lights. Of course the dealership can't get it to replicate it when I bring it in. Caught it on my phone camera today. I don't even have the car titled and it's already giving me issues. Of course the dealership I bought from is no help. Don't bother with this car. Yes, it has a good warranty. Apparently I will be using it!!!!! Ridiculous!!!

Impressive value with a few flaws
When I first saw the 8th-generation Sonata, I was both confused and awed by the blend of elements both classy and modern, by the different impressions conveyed at each angle. Was the Sonata interesting now?? I continue to be impressed by Hyundai's aggressive efforts to evolve its brand, not only staying competitive but earning business by providing remarkable value in terms of features, safety, style, etc., all at an economy price. I have spent about four months with my 2021 Sonata Limited now, and I conclude that overall it's a great value for the price with an impressive attention to detail but a couple of glaring flaws. It certainly looks more expensive than it is with its sleek, refined appearance and luxurious beige-gray interior (depending on which color you get). The Limited trim level also has a sprightly little turbocharged engine and an impressive array of features, not to mention simply being an enjoyable "place to be," as the car reviewers say. All of this constitutes - on paper, at least - a better value for the price than the fully loaded competitors (Camry, Accord, etc.). But I am surprised by the few flaws that did slip through their development process despite the otherwise thorough attention to detail that is evident. First, there is no interior handle with which to close the trunk, encouraging owners to leave fingerprints on the rear paint (I usually close mine by touching one of the taillights). I might even recommend one of these for the hood as well. Second, there is much more road noise than I would expect from this quality of vehicle, which diminishes my enjoyment of the Bose sound system. The third and most glaring flaw is the over-specified suspension system which I find excessively stiff and jittery for what is supposed to be a more luxurious sedan. Certainly it handles corners fairly well despite having significant body roll, but most consumers interested in this car want something more comfortable and will not be driving aggressively enough to justify this level of stiffness. I really like this car in general, but the stiff suspension may lead me to selling it sooner than I had planned. To my understanding the Accord and Mazda6 manage to have sporty handling while still being comfortable, so I would think Hyundai could do the same. Even my 2017 Elantra seemed to have fairly tight suspension (though I never tested its limits) and yet I had no issues with comfort. My theory is that they used essentially the same suspension system for all trim levels of the Sonata so that it would be sporty for the N-Line and average for the others, but as a result it's sporty for everyone. Those with the base model probably don't notice this as they have much more sidewall, but anyone with 17-inch or 18-inch wheels is destined for the chiropractor. So in conclusion, the underdog still has a few things to learn, and my search for an interesting, affordable, yet comfortable commuter car continues.

Worst experiece ever had with a new car
I was so excited to drive home the beautiful Sonata Limited a few months ago. A week and less than 1000 miles into my experience, the car's dash began to display multiple errors regarding driver features (lane departure, collision avoidance, tire pressure), all in sequence. Sometimes, the speedometer would fluctuate wildly, and even turn off, steering would get light (or very hard). I even had occasional sudden breaking while backing out (for no reason as there was no other cross traffic). I turns out wiring harness issues where causing severe electrical malfunctions that made the car "light up light a Christmas tree" to coin the phrase of Hyundai tech service. I was lucky not to have been in a major accident while driving given the driver malfunctions. The dealer took 5 weeks to solve, spent over 300 miles of testing, hours of idling while troubleshooting. Now I got my "new" car back that been dismantled and put back together twice, has oils stains on seats that I cannot remove and am nervous the repair may be temporary since service department "thinks" found the faulty electrical issues. My new car feels like a clunker now (and forget about the new car smell). Customer service was contacted, they logged my claim but never got back to me as promised by the rep; 3 weeks later I am still waiting. A nice car, nice features does not compensate for poor initial quality and bad customer service. I understand issues pop up with all cars, but a manufacturer stands out in how they treat their customers and provide peace of mind. In this case, Hyundai does not stand out. This car should never have left the quality control department. There's a reason why Toyota and Honda do not have to con customers with lengthy warranties.

Soon a lemon
Leased a 2022 Sonata at the end of October. I wanted the color combination and they had one on the showroom floor. I wanted a 2023 but they didn't have it. It was brand new with only a few miles. In January with only 2,000 miles, the car started to die while driving it. It was choking and stalling. I managed to get it started and made it home when it died completely. Had it towed. The car was there for 3 weeks. They finally said that they fixed it. Now the same thing happened again. Had it towed on Friday night and still waiting to hear from the dealership. It is an extremely dangerous thing to happen when you are driving a car and it just dies on you in the middle of a major intersection. I want a new car.
Exceeded my expectations!
Just purchased the 2021 sonata sel plus and it is definitely luxury at a more affordable price I couldn’t be more happier it drives so smoothly and just looks so sleek!

Distinctive styling and a great value
To begin, I wanted something with style and character, not a generic car. I also did not want to drive an SUV. The Sonata, particularly the SEL Plus with the Technology Package is am amazing deal when you consider all of the features and technology that comes with the car. The car turns heads and my friends cannot believe how far Hyundai has come. It also get up to 39 MRG on the highway, so I am really pleased with my purchase.

Medium Quality sedan with Cheap electronics
I have the non turbo 2.5. The car seems sluggish on the low end. The radio is malfunctioning at 6K miles and displays an HD station when there is none. The sound seems weak. I could not get the Bose because I did not want the Turbo. A cars warranty is only good if Hyundai would Honors it. As of now Hyundai refuses to fix My radio in My 6-month-old Car. The better than five star car.
We have owned the Sonata for over 2 years now. It has been a surprise pleasure to drive, and the gas mileage seems to be a little unreal. On the highway we are getting between 40 and 45 miles per gallon, and in the city between 35 and 38 miles per gallon.

Avoid this car
I bought this car about 3 weeks ago. The car has had nothing but issues after the initial 2 weeks. In 2 weeks I drove the car maybe 300 miles. Since then the cars engine light has turned on. Initially I was told it was an electrical component that needed to be swapped in the car would be ready within 7 days (4 days for the component to ship etc. ) I was called today and was told the engine harness needs to be replaced as well as that is no longer a functioning. This replacement will take 6 to 8 weeks. I would avoid this car at all cost. Not worth the headache. To top it all off the dealership service department is sub par.

Hybrid Broke Down After 4 Days.
Bought a 2021 Sonata Hybrid and after only 4 days, it broke down. Returned to the dealer and got a '21 Sonata SEL Plus with the 1.6T engine. Pros: - technology in this car is fantastic. - NO CVT - Great driving position for me Cons: - 1.6T Turbo and/or gearbox has severe lag. Hit the accelerator and wait 1-2 secs for a response. Driving around town was jerky. - 8 speed auto is always fumbling around looking for the right gear. - Seats are heat magnets After 2 months of choppy driving I traded the Sonata for a Mazda 6 and glad I did.

2021 Sonata hybrid limited issues
After owning a 2012 sonata hybrid. My wife decided she missed hers. So we bought a 2021. While we love most things about the car. Here are the issues we’ve had. 1) noise in the front right side like a break dragging etc. (1) dealership said it was dust on the breaks and needed the brakes cleaned. Now it’s been 30 years since I was in auto mechanics. But I’ve never heard of a car needing brake dust cleaned off the rotors. Especially at 20k Miles. Also not covered by warranty. 2) The radio navigation system locked up 1 hour into a 6 hour drive. After I tried using voice calling on the car. After researching. The only way to fix it was shutting it off for several hours. 3) after having the brakes looked at. My wife went on a 5 hour trip. After returning home. We found that the under cover had came loose. Note she didn’t hit anything. But it also caused the wheel well cover to come loose.(3) Well those don’t just come loose. Ok give me a quote $600. 4) the navigation system Would say Unavailable try again. (4) we’ll see if an update fixes this issue.

Sleeper of a sports car hidden in a Sonata?
I want to start off by saying BUY THIS CAR IF YOU CAN FIND IT! This is my 4th Sonata purchased in the last 16 years, we liked the cars, but they were boring, so we sold the last 3 over the years. I needed a good commuter car for the next 6-9 months till retirement. We found a dealer about 90 miles from us, and test drove the 2022 Sonata N-Line...I only needed a short test drive to be sold on this car. The ride is tight, but not overly stiff, great Bose system that will take a few hours to break in the speakers, purchased the 1 single available option summer tires $200. The Sonata has driving assist that will keep you centered during long commutes, borderline self-steering, (you have to keep touching the wheel around 30 seconds) Driving on the highway is a dream in Normal mode the car is a great family vehicle with great seats...Now for the fun stuff in Sport mode the Sonata comes out of its shell to hang with some of the sportier cars in its class, traction control is engaged, and the steering is stiffer, and the exhaust gets louder. Sport plus you are on your own, traction control is off, car gets even louder (how is this possible?) 0-60 in 5.2 seconds.... not bad for a car around $35,000. top speed for the Sonata is about 150 mph REALLY!!!! So far, my only complaint is they should have an AWD option in the future. Hyundai's Hidden Gem the Sonata N-Line...BUY

A very good automobile for a very good price
5 months ago I purchased a 2021 Hyundai Sonata. I’m first going to list some of the drawbacks. I’m not a huge fan of the spoiler fin in the back. It has however grown on me a little . The seats are a little hard and I would have preferred more cushion. I would have liked a little more acceleration from from first to second gear, but that’s not a huge issue for me. Ok, now on to the positive aspects of this car. First , the price is relatively cheap for the car you get. It looks like a more expensive car, maybe 10 grand more. The exterior , especially front and side is beautifully designed with sharp lines . The front headlights are very sharp and sporty. A very attractive car . The interior is very spacious , front and back seats. A tall person will be comfortable . The interior fabric and dashboard are of good quality and physically attractive . It is a technologically good car, particularly the safety features ! When you are inside you feel like you are protected in the event of a crash . The engine is relatively quiet and it offers a smooth ride. The handling for a large car is actually surprisingly good , with a good turn ratio. The A.C. Unit is very good , and blows out very cold air ! Better than most cars. It isn’t a gas guzzler and with gas prices going up, that’s one criteria important to me . I used to drive Toyota’s but honestly this car is up there with the Camry if truth be told. I’m a tough critic , but this car doesn’t disappoint. Over all I would highly encourage any potential buyers to get inside and give it a test drive. I think you will be pleasantly surprised . I know I was !!

Will be getting rid of mine
The vehicle is a great car to drive, the interior is silky smooth, the sound system is awesome and the way the body lines are is sexy. However, the reliability of this car has disappointed me. The car has only 10,000 miles and i have been informed it needs a new transmission. A couple months before this, I needed to get the water pump replaced because it malfunctioned as well, causing my engine to tell me it’s overheating. It’s a sad story that must end because of mechanical issues. So much potential with this vehicle, and I am really disappointed in the quality that has been put out by Hyundai.

Stylin...
I purchased the Phantom Gray .. very pretty color and kinda looks like black with speckles. Nice smooth ride, easy to handle on the road. Its been about 2.5 years later and its still running smoothly. I have no complaints about this car except I wish Hyundai would have the passenger seat able to adjust like the drivers seat. Its kinda silly to have adjustments on just the drivers side unless you pay extra for it. It should be standard.

Impressive Highway Control
I previously had a 2014 Elantra GT and needed an upgrade as my new job was an hour away from home (approximately 60 miles/one way) and I noticed the GT wasn’t handling it too well. I loved the features Hyundai vehicles offered and pricing compared to other makes similar in features. I knew I wanted to stay with Hyundai but I needed something better where I didn’t have to fill the tank 3+/week. Made the choice to go with the Sonata SEL as it had more room compared to the Elantra plus better MPG. Gas tank/MPG on my 2021 SEL allows me to fill my tank only 2/week. Plus the lane control and lane assist help tremendously when most of my driving is at speeds of 70+. This vehicle, in my opinion, would be a suitable choice if looking for reliability on highway conditions. If I really had to find a downside to this sedan, it would probably be the exterior, specifically how the front end is designed. I hadn’t noticed it until a coworker pointed out that the new Sonata looks like a ‘catfish’ from the front and once taking a good look, I agree. For a vehicle who’s performance exceeded my expectations, Hyundai should’ve designed it to match its performance more appropriately. That may literally be my only downside but know it doesn’t change how much I still love my 21 Hyundai Sonata SEL.

"Cool Car"
A very nice car with a lot of safety and tech features. Fun to drive for us Baby Boomers. Downside is a lot of the features are controlled all over the dash and can have a lot of small icons that are hard to find for for a Boomer.. I bought for the extensive safety features, but are being negated by brake problems. Brakes are very grabby and just about impossible to make a gentle smooth stop. Been to dealer twice and they said nothing wrong. FOR THAT REASON WOULD NOT BUY AGAIN!

Really really happy
I really digged the new design on the sonata. I'm coming from an Audi sq5 and I'm not really missing much to be honest. Compared to the Kia, Toyota, Nissan etc offerings I felt like the design and interior were just way above. The Honda offerings come close but I'd still give a little edge to Hyundai. The standard safety features are great to see. Compared to Audi and Sunbury I've driven with lane tracing and adaptive cruise it's the best imo. The Audi constantly thinks your hands are off the wheel and the Sunbury bounces in lanes a little. Love the key fob remote start and the app is somehow miles ahead of the Audi app (Audi app was by far the worst I've used sadly). The turbo has enough pep to keep me happy, and I find the road noise to be great. Really no complaints at all the first couple weeks owning!

Love this car
I had a 2017 Nissian Altima plagued with transmission problems and decided to buy a 2021 Sonata. The price was great and I was amazed at all the features and how fast it is and how great it handles. The only minor complaint I have is that if you drive with the driver assistance on, it will brake your car if it feels you are too close to the vehicle in front of you which can be a little nerve racking if you are changing lanes in traffic going over 55mph. I suggest turning that feature off if you plan to go high speeds on a highway, but everything else about this car is wonderful and I still give it 5 stars. I have had zero problems for over 60,000 miles. None.
