Sure is nice.
I picked up a 2014 GLS after several rides in a friend's 2013. All the current tech gizmos are there including butt warmers and a hi-res backup camera. The ride is comfortable and secure, handling is very good. Visibility is only average as the seating seems a bit low; got to concentrate to avoid scraping the wheels around curbs. "Eco" setting short-shifts the transmission, ok in town but annoying in hilly terrain; regular mode delivers 26 mpg anyway in a 50/50 mix. ***10/2016 update. Still regarded as a wise purchase. No issues. Highway economy at a steady 70 with cruise control was 38 mpg. The engine could have used more torque but will happily rev to find needed performance. Manual mode transmission is great for descents. The onboard average fuel economy readout is about 2.5 mpg overoptimistic. The satellite-enabled radio is slick, and the Bluetooth hands-free cell phone system is a joy to use! ***4/2017 update. No major issues or failures. The female half of the seat belt is so short that finding it on dark mornings is more luck than skill. Still wish the engine had more torque; switching over to manual mode and holding a lower gear to keep the revs up is a work-around. ***10/2017 update. Still no failures.

Uncompromised comfort and refinement
I rented a base model with only 300 miles on it. I'm a tough reviewer, but this car really impressed me. I loved the dash - Hyundai made the controls very simple and intuitive - so you'll never get angry at the car because you can't figure out how to work the climate control, cruise control, etc. At highway speed there is zero wind noise (amazing). The quietness, ride smoothness, comfy seats, cold and powerful AC and the quality look and feel to everything are reminiscent of the 1990's Camry's we all loved. Toyota doesn't make a Camry with uncompromised comfort and refinement anymore so it's neat to know the Hyundai does and it's called the Sonata

2014 Hyundai Sonata
Bought the car in good condition at 30,000 miles and had a solid mechanic look it over (just in case) with nothing obvious. Lacks the torque compared to other vehicles (knew this when buying). So far have experienced two main failures after having put an additional 30,000 miles the transmission failed as I was driving on the Interstate (fun). The local dealer did honor the warranty and replaced it, while paying for a rental, after about 4 weeks I had it back. At about 80,000 miles the car started to experience issues where it would not start after refueling it, had it towed to a mechanic as the dealer said they could only look at it while charging me. Had the starter replaced as the battery was new and tested fine, it did restart. Refueled again, wouldn't start, have to disconnect the battery to get the car to start now. I am still looking for a mechanic to resolve but am overall disappointed with the vehicle. Other issues, the engine makes a loud grinding sound when brought up to speed (have to be gentle when accelerating), engine vibrates the entire car (been going on since about 50,000 miles), the center console plastic latch broke, and the glasses holder snapped out of place (broken). The car does get decent gas mileage (36 highway/30 city). It had decent safety ratings when I bought it, I am at 3 or 4 recalls so far. Out of all the vehicles having been exposed to growing up, I will be sadly avoiding Hyundai after this car.

Red Turbo
I purchased a 2014 turbo SE. I wanted a v6 but did not want to spend the gas for the power, so the turbo fits the bill. With 274 horsepower it has plenty of power for merging onto the freeway, passing, and gets a respectable 0-60 time. I am averaging 23 mpg city, and 33 hwy. The car is smoother and quieter than the 2013 gls we have. The backup camera is nice, it take some getting used to if you never had one. I have already used it to help in parallel parking. I like the handling, steering, power, comfort, and style that the Sonata turbo SE has. I highly recommend the Sonata turbo to anyone wanting the power of a v6 but the gas mileage of a 4 banger.
MY new 2014 Sonata
We are very happy with our new car. Shortly after we purchased it we drove it on a long trip. We got 34 MPG on the highway at Texas interstate speeds, 75 MPH+, and close to 30 MPG in city driving. We are still getting used to all of the functions it has to offer.

Bad engines
At 7 years and 65,500 miles, the engine of our 2014 Sonata seized while driving on the highway 175 miles from home. Luckily, we were able to stop safely. The closest Hyundai dealership is telling us it will take 1.5 to 2 months to even look at the car and tell us if the engine failure qualifies for the recall or will be taken under warranty, and if it is, roughly the same time to order and receive the engine. They refused to provide a loaner or rental car at their expense and their only answer was to get in line. They also insinuated that we didn't maintain the car properly when in fact we followed the manufacturer's maintenance schedule and even put full synthetic oil since the car was new. We were also insulted by an offer to buy the car from us for $500 in its current state. We are terribly disappointed by the poor reliability and customer service and advise against buying Hyundai.

well worth it
This is our second sonata and both vehicles have performed very well. No major problems with either car. The cars get great mileage and are well worth the price. Only 2 drawbacks that I can mention. The first is that the ride is not exactly smooth. That being said, it isn't bumpy either. We changed the tires out at 60,000 miles and the ride became smoother, but still not as smooth as I would have hoped. Understand the later years have solved this trouble though with a new suspension system. Only other issue (and it is not related to the car directly) is that the price for maintenance varies way too much among different Hyundai dealers. Some charge way too much for oil and tire rotations while others are more in line with what you would expect.

New 2014 SE 2.0T 1k miles in
I have had the car now for just under 1k miles. I do not see much difference with the steering wheel comfort/sport settings. At 6'2" it has plenty of room for me even with the sunroof. Back up camera is good, power is nice, averaging 26 MPG total. Was able to use Boostup website to get additional $500 off for a total cost for the 2014 Premium package SE 2.0T at $26885 before tax, fees, etc. Felt like amazing deal to me.
14 Ltd 2.0T with Tech Pkg
Other than the very annoying legal disclaimer that comes on every time you start the car, no matter what mode, the Nav is improved over 2013. Sound deadening is improved, but the tires are still too hard and noisy with the 2.0T (most people ditch them as soon as possible). Kind of odd that the Kia Optima has more features similarly equipped...
Never again
Worst car after a week it was back at the dealer I shouldn’t have known then! It’s been 4 years of headaches shaking recalls...I’m over it!

My last Hyundai...Period!
I purchased a Sonata Hybrid Limited in April of 2013. About a year later, it seemed that an occasional panic stop would cause the car to stop abruptly rather than pulse to a safe stop. After noticing that it seemed to do that each of the few times that I applied the brakes in that manner, I took the car to the dealer, asking them to also check the brakes for a banging noise occurring each time the brakes were applied when coming to a stop sign/light. Many months and service calls later, my VA Lemon Law attorney suggested that I might want to avoid Hyundai or Kia if I ever expected to have my interests considered. I traded in that piece of @)$(*^* as quickly as I could!
Nice used car with great price
Car is loaded and very comfortable. Has excellent legroom in both front and back seats, which is one of my concerns due to arthritis.

Our first Hyundai
Nice car and ride is smooth. This is an economical car with a roomy interior and plenty of trunk space. The dashboard controls are conveniently placed for both driver and passenger. It was purchased recently and hoping it will go well over 120,000 miles.

2.0T Limited at 145K miles
I bought my '2014 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T Limited new. I now have 145K miles on it. At 120k miles the engine had to be replaced,, but Hyundai did this at no cost to me. They did this due to a class action lawsuit. If you are considering buying a used Sonata you can Google this issue. Hyundai will replace the engine even if you are not the original owner and there is not a mileage limit or time limit. I believe this affects model years 2011 thru 2017. Hyundai also supplied me with a free loaner car during the 2 week repair. The only other problem I have is the FM radio reception has always been inconsistently weak and I live in a major metropolitan area. My other vehicles do not have this issue. The pros: reliability, cabin is quiet at high speeds, comfortable ride, good acceleration, blue tooth enabled, and shiftable automatic. The cons: small backup camera screen at 4.3", poor FM radio reception, no sport mode.

2014 Sonata.
I love my car, only one small issue my brake light bulbs and headlights burns out more than normal, after reading reviews not to many people experience this issue but this issue won’t stop me from owning another sonata- the only thing is that I don’t like the dashboard and stereo of the new cars. I don’t understand why my car is considered an SE, according with Hyundai dealership, my car has half cloth and leader review camara heated seats power seat, 18 inch wheels, rear spoiler, blinkers on my side mirrors fog lights engine 2.3 GDI, trichromatic transmission and paddle shifte, and yet they still said isa low end car., but I don’t care is one of my favor cars that I had ever owned, I wouldn’t be afraid to have my love ones on this car. I definitely recommend this car to anybody.

Caution
Think twice before you buy an hyundai. They have severe issues with recalls and the car not starting. You will spend a plethora of money trying to diagnosing the isssues and no one will be ever to fix it. This is the second hyundai that has randomly stopped starting. Batter is fine, coils on relays, everything checked out. It's definitely a manufacturing defect and i'm tired of bringing my car to the shop for 100 recalls.

She's a keeper!
Beware! This car has a touchy accelerator pedal! Very peppy car! It has a smooth comfortable ride though and feels stable and solid. Very roomy inside. Headlights need some improvement on low beam, maybe a brighter bulb would help.

Only works til the warranty expires!
This car worked just fine until the factory warranty expired at 60,000, at 62,500 the engine fell apart, then, a few weeks later, I was stranded AGAIN when the car wouldn’t start. This car is a freaking scam.

Super car at any price
Outstanding performer in all aspects except for one. The suspension is very stiff...they call it a "sport" suspension. What it really means is that if you have to drive the rough California freeways as I do be prepared to have your innards shaken a bit. Beyond that, a great vehicle.

This car will leave you stranded!!
If you want a car that will reliably start every time, do NOT purchase a Hyundai Sonata! We bought our car brand new in 2014, and it is the worst car we have ever owned. I have been stranded at least 3 times, hundreds of miles from home, because the car simply would not start. Hyundai is absolutely ZERO help. Have had it in for repairs multiple times. These cars need to be recalled. Engine problems, push button start problems, and on and on. We will NEVER buy a Hyundai again!
Bad roof creaking
with only 46,xxx miles on it. the roof make a horrible creaking noise when going over speed bumps and even worse on gravel roads. should of gotten a Civic EX-L. engine is running fine and everything else is well... it just doesn't feel like it did less then 9 short months ago.
Why is this car even a thing?
This is the last hyundai I will ever own. I have a 2014 sonata gls with 82k miles and the engine and tranny are both going! The engine sounds like a lawnmower and it has a metal rattle when accelerating. The seats feel like recycled plastic and everything is hard touch. No touchscreen on a 2014? Come on hyundai you could have at least made the car reliable if its gonna look like a giant bug found in the dumpster. I dont know how people own these cars! I am getting rid of mine ASAP!!!!

less than satisfied
gas mileage not what was advertised transmission shifts into higher gears at the wrong time. took it back to dealer and was told it is running as designed. that is there standard answer instead of trying to fix it. complained to Hyundai and that was a waste of time. beware of the advertised fuel mileage, although I am sure it is an industry wide problem of not getting what is advertised as far as gas mileage
running under the coldair in the summer time
I am having problems with my 2014 sonata running under the air during summer hot months. Once a month I have to put refrige in to stay cold. Is it any recall for air condition problems. it have been checked for leaks and cost $364.00 It's only 3 years old surely I don't have to put on a line for air condition this early during ownership.
