Decent car but catalytic convertor rusts out

Vehicle runs well, have 98,000 miles. Fuel Module and Lock Ring rusted cause EVAP issues and can smell gas, all Brakes as rotors rusted on - sieged almost needed to use welder to cut them off, brake dust covers rusted through and gone, valve cover gasket leaked and cause alternator to fail, air conditioner clutch died and also has a coolant leak, fuel door switch oxidized so won't pop open have to use manual release in trunk and driver door window switch broke. Catalytic Converter that lays between driver and passenger seat rusted through. Car cost maybe $25k new but will cost you $15k in maintenance and repair, add 10 years worth of fuel at 10k miles per year, tires, brakes, oil changes, inspections then auto insurance expect to spend $70K to own this car for 10 years.

Smooth Ride, Very Sporty

This car handles better than I was expecting it to. Tight steering, amazing acceleration @ 250HP (which is surprising considering it doesn’t look like it would pack some heat lol), and an amazing stock sound system. Gas mileage could be better but after all, it is a V6. Like a previous review had mentioned, I also have the issue of the transmission downshifting while traveling down a steeper grade of road @ 45MPH or faster. When this does happen, it knocks hard and makes me cringe; this can’t be good for the transmission. Also, changing the spark plugs are a HUGE PAIN considering the engine is positioned horizontally - so the front 3 plugs are easy to get to but in order to reach it the back 3 you have to pretty much take the whole top half of the engine apart. Regardless, it’s a great car that is very sporty, reliable, and comfy.

IMPRESSED

Just purchased yesterday so I'm sure that I am a little biased right now but I am really impressed with the quality. To give some perspective my old car was a 2007 Taurus so this is an upgrade. The doors are solid, the ride is quiet and very comfortable and I think it handles great. I read many reviews on how blah it is but I think it is pretty responsive. The 6 cyl engine is more than I really need but the drop in fuel economy wasn't that great. The interior is excellent. High quality materials and everything seems to be in the right place. After the $3K rebate I felt it was a lot of car compared the competition. I didn't think about Hyundai at first but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

After having BMW for years, I got very tired of the very expensive up-keep ($1000 every time you visit the mechanic, and $125 oil change) I decided to buy Hyundai, man what a great decision the car is everything you expect from a car that size plus some. My wife dumped the awful 2009 Camry and now I can not get her out of this Hyundai, it is quite comfortable on a long trip the gps is very user friendly, the dealer is extremely nice. In short I would recommend this car to my mother over in garbage that Toyota is dishing out.
