Great Value and Very dependable
I purchased my sonata in july of 00. I currently have 110,000 miles on the odometer. This has been the most reliable car I have owned to date. I would recommend this model if you are in the market.
Just another review...
I am happy with my purchase decision. It has been a good car for the money paid. It has provided a good value.

Engine Lights, all over the place!
I bought this car used 2 years ago, was told the title was clean, and right at 60K miles. Drove very well for about a year, and then the engine light came on. Powertrain, I thought! That covers engines. Wrong! Car had been salvaged, seller lied, and Hyundai won't honor the warranty. We learned a lesson. Spark plugs, wiring all needed to be replaced ($600- $650). Now, 3 months after we got that fixed, the engine light is on AGAIN. I'm sure it did this crap to the previous owner as well, which is probably why they totaled it in the first place.
The 4 Cyl. needed smoother shifting.
I find that my Sonata doesn't shift smoothly between gears. The car is a great value in general. I have 58000 mi. on mine and it's still going strong. The Silver color paint is peeling, which isn't too great, and I garage it every night and use it just for pleasure.
GOOD CAR
I bought this car new and have driven it for almost 3 years. It has had minor problems but everything was covered and fixed under the 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. Overall, it is a good vehicle and I will probably buy another. I feel sorry for anyone that has paid $25,000 or more for a Honda or Toyota with the same features as this vehicle because they have been robbed. I paid $17,090 "out the door" (which means everything was included in the price, such as taxes, tags, freight, processing fees, etc....)
