Used 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV (2.7L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
GREAT COMFORT AND WONDERFUL PRICE
Before I bought this SUV I did my homework, looked at all issues and prices and many pages of reviews from other owners, I love the wider stance it has, my '04 Jeep Liberty limited was narrow and very cramped, the A/C is great, shifting is smooth, I bought a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7liter FWD 4speed automatic tranny, it rides smooth, MY husband is 6'2 and he said it's like sitting in a recliner, quiet cabin, rocking sound system, great location of vents, for passengers, amazing storage space, (my aunt just bought a 2015 Cadillac SUV and it has small storage area no spare tire or jack yuk and it feels cramped) when she seen my SUV she was amazed at the room and the price I got it used in 6/2016 with 67403 miles on it for $9500 I have searched around and found I got a HELL of a DEAL... Super happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! December 2017, still enjoy the car. I have about 108000 miles now from 67000 when I bought it. No issues, still runs and drives great... UPDATE DECEMBER 17TH 2016 Still love my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe, very roomy have used it for myself and in-laws grocery shopping and have tons of room... no mechanical issues, rides straight and smooth.

2008 SANTA FE 2.7L
Hyundai 2 nd generation 2.7 l cvvt started in 2007, which has more noticeable power than the initial generation engine. Owned for 14years with no major problems @107 k miles. (owned 2003 model for 146 k miles & just had timing belt changed after 80 k miles).I do most of the maintenance diy but will have my private aes mechanic replace the timing belt kit. very pleased with this model . there are reports out there that say 2.7 l engines don't have enough power, but the second gen engines produce 185-194 hp,depending on the model &year.i have the fwd, with less weight, & burns rubber, if given too much throttle from a stop & has excellent passing gear power. The AWD models are heavier, so probably a bit slower. Maintenance is important, but like all mechanical things, anything is liable to break, no matter what make or model you buy. forward to 2020, 99,000 mi. +. Santa Fe still runs great @ 12 yrs. I just had a timing belt kit replaced, being I've decided to keep the Santa Fe.

SRS Issues Following OCS Recall Fix
The vehicle was serviced June 2013 for the following recalls: SRS PODS and Stop Lamp Switch Replacement. After the recalibration of the SRS PODS system, the Airbag (AIR) warning lamp in the dashboard remained on. The front seat belt tensioner was replaced free of charge, but 9 months later the AIR light came on again and the entire seat needs to be replaced at a cost of $2400 plus tax and labor. I never had any problems with the SRS system until after the recallibration of the SRS PODS system. Prior to this, the transmission and Hydraulic Brake Control Unit were replaced in 2009. The noise thought to be the transmission (prob. valves) went away around 50,000 miles.
Junk
Never buy a Santa Fe again. It was brand new had it 1 week the AC tore up had to return it to dealership 1 year later the Throttle Sensor went out after taking it to the dealership 2 times and saying they couldn't find the problem. When it is in Idle in jumps and feels like its gonna quit all the time. Never again will I buy a Hyundai my first and last. I only get 17 miles to the gallon of gas.
Best SUV in lower price range
This is definitely the best SUV that I can find for under 20K. The build quality is superb. I got 26 Mpg on high way. I really do not understand why some reviewers are complaining about fuel efficiency. At least I am very satisfied with 26 MPG. City MPG measure is not reliable. The control and handling is excellent, and the suspension is just right, stiffer than my Camry, which has a really soft suspension, but softer than CRV and Mazda. Cruise is comfortable.
