My first foreign car
The professional review I read stated that the car was sedate for driving. well don't be put off by that because it couldn't be further from the truth. I am 47 yrs old and have owned a lot of cars. This car is the total package for someone looking to save money on gasoline without sacrificing power, looks, comfort, and driveability. To be clear I have the 2012 accent gls sedan, not the hatchback. I test drove the fiesta first and lemme tell you, it doesn't touch this car in the performance department.
So close, but a few suggestions
Have an 09 Elantra Touring already, & bought a '12 Accent Hatch SE. I'm blown away by the mileage. Over 35 mixed use; easy to get well over 40 Hwy. The accent is quieter & more refined than the (more expensive) Elantra Touring, w/comparable passenger room, but the cargo space is tighter, & a higher liftover. I'm disturbed by the lack of spare tire; Dealer has promised to alert me when the "donut kits" arrive. Also there is no ext temp display. How much did they save by leaving THAT out, LOL? Paid sticker, plus dealer installed mudflaps & iPod cable. Elecrolyte Green. Other than that I'm completely satisfied. Paid $18,020 including delivery,

Reliable but cheap quality
Bought this car in May 2012 with 28km on it (not 28,000). It currently has around 175,000km on it. It has been a reliable commuter car for me. The good: -Great fuel economy (avg. 6.8-7.3L/100km) -Only ever changed the oil and replaced tires, haven’t even replaced the brake pads yet. The bad: -Road noise -cheap interior, not super comfortable on long road trips -underpowered, most noticeable when I have passengers, not too bad when I’m driving alone. -6 speed manual transmission is direct drive instead of overdrive. Doing 120kph on the highway has the RPM’s at around 3,000. Overall, this has been a good commuter car, but doesn’t make a great family car or a car you’d want to take on long road trips.

Great Daily Driver
I bought a used 2012 accent GS hatch with 72k miles on the clock. I got this car because I wanted a daily driver with a 6 speed manual that got 35mpg + The gearing is a little weird but it guarantees 35-40mpg as long as I keep it under 85mph. This car is very reliable. I currently have 114k miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace is the battery. The interior styling is also favorable (something that toyota and honda lack in my opinion) The interior is very solid, nothing rattles and the sound system is totally capable. Above all I want to point out how amazing the car handles. It's almost scary how quick I can turn my Accent without losing traction. Overall the car serves it's purpose and it goes above and beyond with reliability and overall quality. Good job Hyundai.

Not flashy, but real value
I had an 09 Sonata that was totally with no injuries. So impressed with safety after the crash as well as quality and MPG, I bought another Hyundai. Originally I thought it was too small, but it has grown on me. Fun to drive. AMAZING gas mileage. The 6 speed is fun.
