Great enthusiasts car
3-3-2017 Update: Just turned the Sport in at the end of the 3 year lease. It was an entertaining, fun to drive, frugal, comfortable, and ungodly well built. It was primarily a commute car taking me from Marin to downtown Oakland on a daily basis. Driving very enthusiastically I average between 28 - 30 mpg on 89 octane and full synthetic. The manual transmission was a joy, and it made the commute more enjoyable - never regretted it for a minute. After 3 years I did not have one warranty claim, creak or rattle. I put Nokian Z-Line high-performance tires on at 1K, as the stock tires were really poor on wet roads. The Nokians made the Sport a much more enjoyable car, and still passed the post-lease inspection with 29K miles on the odo. Things I'd changed. The head rest hit me at the base of the neck, so I flipped them around. Even with the Nokians, I would get a lot of wheelspin with one wheel when accelerating moderately in the wet and aggressively in the dry - had to back-off the throttle a lot. It needs a limited slip. The back seats have a lot of room, but the seats are very deep; hence, even my teenagers complained about driving in a cave and feeling like a little kid. The rear seats do not fold even close to flat, so loading a bike or surfboard was difficult - sport-wagon please. While I really liked the Sport, it is a great appliance, but did not invoke my passions. Like my prior Miata, WRX or Cayman - different mission. I'm replacing my Sport with a very lightily optioned Cayman. I only have 1K miles on it. I bought the Sport because it was one of the few vehicles that was offered in a Manual transmission, was fun to drive, had enough room in the rear seats for teenagers, and I could fit comfortably (6'3" and 210lbs). It is a lot of fun to drive - even with a good portion of my 60 mile round trip commute being in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Gear change and clutch is one of the best I have experienced - slightly behind my old Miata, but better than my prior Cayman. It does not like to be rushed, however. Handling is a surprise. Very taunt with little bodyroll, but will begin to understeer at the limits. The ride is perfect - firm, but soaks up all bumps.

Great car with some quality issues.
This car drives nice,"a little stiff on the suspension," but makes up for the stiffness in handling. Fuel economy is great as well. Setting the cruise at 75 on the highway I average 37 MPG, which I feel is great! Now for the bad. I have approximately 25,000 miles on the car and the drivers seat carries the look of 100,000 mile car:( The pandora app is also a hassle. One stereo was replaced and the new stereo is troublesome as well. Freezes like a computer, disconnects during phone calls, and often have to either shut the car off or turn off blue tooth and turn it back on to get the features to work. Definitely is less hands free than I had hoped!

Edmunds asked for an update, so here it is...33,000 miles later i don't have one bad thing to say. I've had 3 oil changes, put gas in it and not had a single warranty issue. I average 28mpg combined and easily push 38mpg over several hundred mile highway trips. Previous review: In the market for a new car and a previous Accord owner I jumped ship to a 5th Gen Nissan Altima. On paper it made sense, it offered features the Accord didn't at thousands less. 2 transmissions, a new radio, nre moonroof, rattling dash, and rear deck later Nissan was finally forced to buy it back under lemon law. Back to the Honda lot I went and bought a 2014 EX-L V6 Touring. I'll say the car delivers. It's solid, quiet, fuel efficient (significantly better real world mileage over my 4 cyl Altima) and styled as aggressively as I'd like. The ground doesn't light up when I open the door and the seat doesn't 60/40 split (cmon Honda?), but I'm in love with the ride and comfort. Don't agree w/the seat complaints, 10 way pwr suits my bad back!

The 2014 Honda Accord EX-L 4cylinder
I have driven about 23000 miles on my Accord prior to writing this review. This is my 3rd Honda and the interior in this trim level is upscale and quieter than previous Hondas. The CVT transmission is responsive and takes a little getting used to and does make an annoying whining noise at times. However the car is responsive and provides you with adequate power when needed. The Accord handles well especially with the lighter 4 cylinder chain driven engine. I really like the electric assist power steering, it makes a big difference. The infotainment system on this trim level and higher is not as complicated and hard to use as the automotive press and many YouTube reviewers will lead you to believe. It's a Honda so maintenance is minimal change the oil when the maintenance minder warns you, rotate the tires and follow the "manufacturer's" maintence schedule and it will provide you with many years and miles of reliable service. I am unsure of the overall longevity and durability of the CVT only time will tell. The EPA fuel economy estimates seem very optimistic compared to what my onboard mileage computer is telling me: about 24-25 mpg in a combination of city & highway driving.

This Honda is the best Honda I have ever owned.it is a thrill to drive. The sport mode with the shifter paddles makes it drive like a manual transmission. It has plenty of power expecially using the sport mode. It has a sporty feel while driving it. It really hugs the road. The seats are really comfortable and the material is awesome. I love the carbon fiber. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and feels awesome. The tinted glass is really nice. I have nothing bad to say about this car.
