This is a Honda?

It seems Honda put all their R&D into the sedan and ignored the coupe. Problems I've seen include bubbling side window trim, interior rattles, and random hard starting engine with plausible deniability from Honda (my money thinks Honda knows about the problem, but would go lose too much recalling that many vehicles. No way they wouldn't know would some many vocal drivers complaining about the same issue.) And to boot, this NEW car came with a unbalanced tire that loved pulling the car to either direction, To their credit, the car is fast, feels luxurious, and is priced very competitively. Steering feels good, but car feels heavy during quick turns.

I won't bore you with everything I could say about this car. It's an ideal blend of subtle styling with just enough performance to get you in trouble and as well appointed as a bemmer 3-series for fewer clams.

Not So Happy

I read all the reviews and wonder if I got a well hidden wreck. Although I've had no mechanical problems, the wide variety of squeaks, rattles, chirps, etc. are about to drive me nuts. This is NOT the quality I've come to expect from Honda. I own a Honda motorcycle and even a Honda lawn mower and am constantly amazed with their quality. So what happened to my Accord? I'm so annoyed with the car I'm seriously considering trading it for a Mazda 6 after only 1-2 months of ownership.

I bought my car after test driving just about every V6 sport sedan in the market. I wanted/had to have a stick shift. I was just about to buy a 2003 Maxima when I saw the ad for the V6 6- speed Accord Coupe. I fell in love. I had also considered the Acura CL s- type with the 6, but found that the interior felt dated comparatively. And- not too many people had my car when I bought it and that was very enticing. The clutch is very tricky at first, it took me a while to get to know it. But now, I am quite hellish behind the wheel. I also love that the few I have let try to drive it- usually stall. She's tricky....

How could you NOT love this car?

After about 9 months of research, I settled on the V6 6-speed manual. I picked it up in April and haven't gotten out since. The car has excellent pick-up, is incredibly comfortable, and looks beautiful. In my eyes, it's the natural evolution of the now-retired Prelude. Fast, classy, sophisticated and refined. I think this opens a great market for Honda for young professionals who want performance and sophistication but don't want to break the bank for it. The editors here have to be three ways from loopy to not enjoy the ride.
