If your thinking of Buying a GMC " Industrial grade truck , JMO DON'T ! I have less than 36,000 miles on my top of the line Denali " again Industrial Grade truck ( their words and slogan not mine ) ! The Front Trans Axle has had to be replace ( never Tow anything with it ) It only took 3 tries to get it right . After fixing it the first time , within a month or so leaked fluid all over my paved drive way , and the after 6 months it did it again , ( costing me over a grand in my cost ( Gm supposedly paid 60 % and I had to pay 40 % ) During the exact time the Trans Axle messed up I receive a error message saying " Stability Traction control " They said had nothing to do with the Trans Axle problem it was ( a faulty senor ) and just coincident , They'd fix it for me for 3 to 4 hundred dollars more . It comes on and goes off , if I back up and turn steering wheel it comes on for a day or two . I guess your not supposed to back up a Industrial grade GMC truck ??? The expensive Chrome Wheels are peeling off chrome like cheap paint on a old house . They've always been polished , and waxed , was told whoever prepped these wheels didn't clean them properly . Now when I clean and Polish / wax them I have to wear protection cut gloves cause the peeling chrome will cut you like a razor knife ( found that out the hard way ) Now lets put this in perspective , I Haven't even had to replace the original tires YET ! The GAS Mileage is bad , nothing like what is stated . I Run High Test Gas , top of the Line Synthetic oil , have a K & N Air Filter for better flow , nothing really helps ! ( if you run reg gas you get no gas mileage ) JMO but this truck hasn't done a decent day work in it life , been babied , pampered , and I would not Own another one . I have been a huge , loyalist fan of GM for most of my life , I have had what I consider good and some bad vehicles but this GMC Industrial grade Serra Denali , JMO rated at the bottom of the list and cost me the most . IT will be gone as soon as I can Afford to dump it ! Don't get me wrong nice looking truck , very Appealing , But Buyer Be wear . NOT WORTH THE MONEY ! Don't let the Looks of it , cost you like it did me .

Truck Noise
I bought the new 2019 Sierra 1500, and I’ve had bad cabin noise. The dealership tightened doors, no help. They changed the A/T tires to Street tires. Some help, but the noise is unreal. Now the dealership said they have a GM Engineering guy coming to check it out. I’m also not crazy about the new brake system. The truck has been to the dealership 3 times now. I’ve owned 6 Chevrolet trucks and never had so much noises in the cabin of a truck. I traded a 2014 GMC for this truck with no noise. I’m not happy with it.

GMC professional downgrade
I leased a 2019 GMC AT4 Crew Cab. Factory 2 inch lift with 18” rims and the Goodyear Wranglers. After driving the truck for approx. 100 miles there was a horrible whirling or whipping sound from front driver side. Also, a disturbing rumbling sound under the passenger seat. As usual, the dealer said it was tire noise! It was more of an axle, front end noise. They allowed me to return the truck.. so I got the 2019 Sierra Denali. I hit 5000 miles and lost my brakes!!! Similar to other forums. I had no braking power unless I pushed the pedal to the floor. UNACCEPTABLE GM!!! I also have a check engine light on. When I opened the hood, I heard a hissing sound from the driver side. UNACCEPTABLE GM!!!! Sure the new body style looks good. The multi pro tailgate is useless. Just another component to break. BTW. I have a hitch step so the tail gate can not open and be used as a multi pro gate. Sorry if you guys have a hitch and tow!!!! The interior. Is clean and simple. By no means worthy of the cost they ask! Overall, my 2019 SIERRA DENALI, overpriced trash sitting at a dealer ship waiting for repairs on a brake system. Figured GM would of perfected there products after so many years and a government bail out. Womp.womp.womp!!!!! Loyal GM customer highly unsatisfied!!!!
Vibrating gear shift and tire balancing
Own a 2019 Denali with the ultimate package. I have had it in the shop 4 times for ride quality and vibrating gear shift. Was recently in the shop for 3 weeks, and all that was done was changed one tire. The truck rides like the tires are out of balance. This is the most expensive vehicle that I have ever owned, and it’s my 3 rd and worst Sierra. The gear shift vibration is so bad, it draws your eyes to it. Talking about distracted driving!
Should have waited
Update (6/22/19): I have owned my 2019 GMC Sierra now for about 7 months now and have almost 5,000 miles on it. We have taken it on several more short road trips and one long road trip. It has done great! This is what I would have expected from the very beginning. The 6.2L engine and 10-speed automatic transmission are awesome. Love this combo! Finds the perfect gear every time and never short on power. I put a drop in K&N filter and a tonneau cover recently. I'm now averaging about 18.5 MPG on the highway, so I'm happier with the gas mileage now too. I still wish I had waited to purchase this vehicle, mostly because GM started offering 0% for 72 months. Original Review (2/11/19): My car was totaled in an accident, so I had to buy a new vehicle. I had been looking to get a truck for several months, so I was kind of pushed to make a decision. I never like buying the first year of a new model, however I felt there were enough improvements to go with the 2019. I've owned it for almost 4 weeks and it has less than 1,000 miles. Last night as we were driving home, I had to make a hard stop. The engine stalled, displaying a message on the DIC to apply the brake to start. My foot was already on the brake! Needless to say, the truck wouldn't start. Had to have it towed to the closest dealership. They had it all day today, never looked at it. Promised it would get in first thing tomorrow, only after I called them 4 times today. Piss poor service! GM thinks they can charge premium $ for these trucks, but they don't offer premium service. Very disappointing! I wouldn't recommend buying one of these trucks, at least until they get the bugs worked out.

TALK YOUSELF OUT OF THIS PURCHASE
I've waited well over 2yrs to purchase a new teyck. After a few years of researching, saving, planning, I take the plunge. I purchased the 2019 GMC SIERRA 1500 SLE on Monday July 1, 2019 and under 100 miles the dreadful "Check engine light" comes on! First thing in the morning, July 2, I go to the local dealer and they dont see anything wrong. They state, "It could be because it hasnt been driven in awhile." They reset the light and off I go. By the end of the day 35miles later, the check engine light is back on. The service dept sends me an hour away to Birmingham. After several hours of waiting, the mechanic states, "The water pump is bad." It is currently at the shop. It is unexpected as to when I will get the truck back but I already have a fear of the dreadful check engine light reappearing because its obvious something is SERIOUSLY wrong with this vehicle. I will update this review ownding the turn out but for now, don't put yourself through the pain and agony Im currently experiencing. Purchase something more reliable.
Want my F-150 back
First time it rained water leaks in rear window. Tail gate broke in the first week. The bluetooth drops phone calls and turns down the volume on the phone without warning. Left at the dealer today with1700 miles, they said to expect two weeks for the parts and repairs. Maybe I will have no additional problems going forward.

4000 mile check in
Purchased one of the first redesigned Sierras that the dealer had on the lot. Low level Denali trim with the pro tailgate. The upgraded stereo system with Nav IS VERY GLITCHY. System gets confused between Bluetooth and Android auto. Bluetooth is slow to respond and does not keep up the song title on the display when streaming. On a trip up to the mountains of N Arizona, the system (phone, radio, Nav) stopped working completely. No way to reset it. Next day it was fine. Using the USB outlet next to the Nav SD card slot confuses the system by saying SD card was removed.....not the case. Will take it in to have system evaluated. Btw heard similar problems with a 2017 Sierra HD pickup. GM can do better.

Very happy with my purchase!
I traded in my Toyota Tacoma TRD sport to get a full size truck due to “two little additions” to the family. I went a looked at all four of the major brand full size trucks ( Ram, Ford, Chevy and GMC). All four were very nice trucks and this is my personal basis review. The ram had the nicest interior but I feel that had way too many electronic components which are likely to fail, and the reliability of the Dodge 5.7 in the past has been bad. It was a good looking truck, but I feel that they try to make it look to “luxurious” and “goddy”. Driving the ram it felt heavy, and had a lot of body roll. Even with the 392 rear end it still felt sluggish off the line for having a hemi in it. The Ford F150 Was a very rugged and capable truck. I would’ve only been interested in the VA because the realit was a very rugged and capable truck. I would’ve only been interested in the V8 because The unknown reliability of the TwinTurbo 3.5. The truck was probably the most comfortable to drive, but the interior seemed like it was very outdated comparative to all the other trucks. I felt it would’ve been the most capable off road and for towing but I could not spend upwards of $50,000 on a truck that had seats from 2004. And I heard there was a lot of problems with the 5.0 coyote motor. I know a lot of people are hit or miss when it comes to the Chevy Silverado but I did think it was a nice truck, and the Z 71 drove identical to the GMC. Me personally, I just wasn’t a big fan of the front end of the Chevy. The GMC x31 I felt was the best truck for me and my family, I love the interior I love to have the truck looked on the exterior and I like how it drove. With it being a new model in 2019, I’m sure there is going to be small issues but there always is with anything you buy and that’s why you have a warranty. I know a lot of people here are upset with some big issues they’re having with their GMC but don’t let that neglect you I’m taking a serious look at one, they’re beautiful. All of my coworkers have all different types of brands a brand new trucks and they all have had issues in someway shape or form. I bought a Tacoma in 2017 brand new, and had nothing but problems with it. So much for being the most reliable truck.

Initial Impressions -- Meh...
SLT-2 Crew Cab, after the first 1000 miles... Interior is nice (despite reviews to the contrary), seats are comfy. Controls are accessible and make sense. Technology and features are great; love Apple Play and the GMC App where I can start the vehicle from my office and let it cool down a bit before the ride home in 100 deg. weather. The "Premium Bose Sound System" upgrade is a disappointment. The base is muddy, the treble is hurtful, and generally the sound lacks dimension. (hate to see what the not-upgraded sound package is like...) Powertrain: 5.3 V8 does not seem to produce the smooth acceleration you would expect from 355 Plus HP and an 8-speed transmission. The engine runs rough at low RPM and the transmission never seems to find the right gear, especially in heavy ebb and flow traffic. Sport Mode helps a little but not much. (I will get the dealer to look into this bit) Suspension - Generally a smooth ride, until it's not. Approach a speed bump at an angle (even slowly) and the vehicle will lurch violently from side to side slamming passengers into the door panels. It will handle a single bump in the road well, but any series of bumps or undulations will make you wish you had approached at a much lower speed. Several times rough road at highway speed has left me feeling out of control. Could the shocks be bad already??? I recommend a better test drive than a quick 5-minute trip around the block on smooth city streets. I will give this another 4000 miles to wear-in and report back. Update - 15K miles Only one issue so far, that being the transmission. Occasionally slips and then slams hard into gear. Dealer could not replicate issue and found nothing wrong.

Bouncing rear suspinision
Love everything about my new truck. With the exception of the rear end suspinision bouncing when I hit a bump. It’s like the shocks are worn out. I have a bed system and it plus other stuff comes up to about 350lbs. This didn’t happen with my 2015 Sierra I traded in.

GMC glory days are in the past
First I would like to start by saying that i wish I had gone with a different truck brand. Way too many issues to list but the most important and noticeable are with the transmission. The way it shifts, the way it feels I mean just everything is off about this piece of junk. Not a fun truck to drive at ALL! When coming to a stop it feels like you’re getting rear ended and it’s just plain annoying. It sucks big time because this are the issues I was trying to avoid by going with this brand and take the bullet and pay the extra money for what supposed to be a quality brand truck. Boy I was I wrong. The only good thing about this truck is the exterior body style everything else suck. I wanted to write an extensive review but really don’t want to waste my time on something that according to the dealer and gmc headquarters it’s normal and that there are no way to fix it or recalls. STAY AWAY FROM GMC

Mediocre all around
I turned in my 2016 Sierra SLE for this 2019 SLE and am a little disappointed with what I lost in many small features for a more $ truck. It does, however, haul a bit more and is more truck like, here’s some details on what’s gone; Upper level side door pockets Roof liner Sunglasses holder Driver side mini glove box Driver left cubby Fog lights in SLE value pkg All but 1 USB in front row (was 4 in 2016) Rubber bottoms in all storage compartments, now everything slides around Separator in center console So here’s what’s new/added; Top center dash storage/display bin for all your expensive & temperature sensitive ditties All weather floor mats that cover the ENTIRE floor 2 USB ports power only second row Visible second row vents 8 speed tranny (6 in 2016 with 5.3) Seriously a much better infotainment system Knobs and switches better tactile feel More bed space, inner wall pushed out Remote tailgate release Sport driving mode SD card slot Keyless entry, push button start Capless fuel door I tried to only include SLE trim specifics with the SLE value pkg. weight is down 200lbs so payload is accordingly up just a bit but here’s the kickers *** EPA rating are down to 15/21 from 17/22, the gas tank is 2gal smaller and as part of GMs Dynamic fuel management, there’s auto stop to boot! How does that happen? I don’t know but I think some serious truck users are not gonna be happy. Ride is noticeably firmer directly compared to my 2016. Firm enough to do some unstable hopping even on some small potholes. Should be interesting next spring. Gone is the 4wd knob which was right next to and looked exactly like the headlight knob in 2016. 4wd functions are now push button and still include the 4 high auto mode which is better in the snow than straight 4wd. Infotainment is much improved with a more logical layout and very responsive touch screen. Yo GM, when the system is off why the heck can’t we have a big clock or something? Really C’mon! Really annoying with the 8” screen is that it glows when off and if it’s dark out it’s distracting. Tow-haul mode is now a knob and you can also do a sport mode so I hade to look this one up in the manual. It removes some of the steering boost and applies an earlier upshift pattern. If you have the air suspension it firms that up too. To sum up, coming off a re-design I think GM did most of the big things right but they also have some tweaking to do with the storage and gas tank I think, not to mention taming that suspension! The 1 thing I cannot believe is not present: locking fuel door!

Best Truck I have ever owned!!!!
I bought a 2019 GMC AT-4 Sierra 1500 6.2 with the new 10 speed transmission and this truck is always in the right gear and has all the power in the world! I am very impressed with the integrated new features such as the multi-pro tail gate, and I weight almost 300 pounds and it has never given me any problems! I also got the Heads up Display with is part of the technology package. I have own a Dodge which was a piece of crap, a ford which was alright but after 100,000 gave me nothing but problems and this is my 3rd GM vehicle! The AT-4 package also comes with a 2" lift from the factory and I live in Idaho where almost every week my family goes out to the mountains to fish, hunt, hike, explore, camp, raft, everything! I thought the Chevy would be cheaper and save me a little money however, I got my truck for almost 12,000$ off MSRP at a dealership in Boise the capital of Idaho called Dennis Dillon GMC! Their price beat the price the chevy dealership gave me by almost $4500! Its smooth, great sound system, and looks amazing! Who needs two turbos or a hemi? What happened to the idea of a truck is a truck and needs a good V-8 with power! When shopping around for a GM Truck go GMC and seriously consider the dealership above! I can fit a sheet of plywood 8'x4' in my bed with a 6'6" bed with the multi pro tailgate!

Nice Looking and Comfortable but then....?
I have the Denali Ultimate Package so it has the 22" wheels and 6.2L V8. This truck is super nice looking and very comfortable. The leather is also nicer than what is available in the Ford. The transmission and motor are awesome. The transmission always knows what gear it should be in, and with 10 gears this is no small feat. The camera's have a great 4k view that is way better than the competition. However there are a lot of other issues that go along with it. The Multi Pro Power Steps don't always retract under the car when you close the door and they are super loud when they hit their stop points. The radio occasionally stops making sound. The USB Ports and SD Card (that holds the Navigation Data) occasionally stop working. These occasional things have all been looked at by the Dealer and there isn't anything they can do or fix because they don't happen when its in the shop. It rides like it has a flat tire or you are on a cobblestone road, whether the road is rough or not. My dad's F-350 has a nicer ride on "smooth" roads. Dealer has replaced 2 tires and a wheel and to no avail, it still rides with a shudder or vibration. They have since said it rides like its supposed to. I had the check engine light come on at 2,000 miles. At 2500 miles I also had a multitude of failure lights all at the same time: Steering assist, Service ESC, Brake System Failure, Service Trailer Brake System. There was a bulletin for this particular event which fixed it but it doesn't make you feel very confident when you have "Brake System Failure". There is a GMC app that allows you to start your car, see where it is, tire pressure and other cool things, except that you have to have an Onstar subscription for $38 per month in order to use it. Ford and Ram's app is free. There isn't rain sensing windshield wipers or adaptive cruise control where Ford & Ram both have it. All in all this is a nice looking and comfortable truck. I prefer to drive my wife's Honda Pilot out on the road because it is smoother. The Competition has more usable features. I've had it for 10 months and I am tired of the headaches that come with it. I have lost confidence and I would not buy it again.

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Utlimate
Flow Buick GMC of Winston-Salem have been amazing and the best prices of a dozen dealers I went to. Overall I'm pleased with the truck. I test drove the 2018 and 2019 back to back and for the $5,000 price difference between the two they changed enough to warrant the 2019. The Denali Ultimate package is amazing and offers just about every feature you could want on a new vehicle, minus adaptive cruise control. I received the brake system failure message at 700 miles and after the vehicle sat for a day I haven't had any other problems with the technology on the truck. The OBD II codes showed that the control modules lost communication with each other. I took it to the shop to have them look at it and they performed a brake system control module (BSCM) update and I haven't had any issues with it since. I've also had an issue with the passenger automatic power assist step getting hung out. The shop said one of the two motors was weaker than the other which caused it to get out of align and re-open thinking it was pinching something. The shop ordered the other motor and replaced at no cost to me. This is one of the quietest vehicles I've ever ridden in and the ride quality is amazing. I actually think the adaptive ride control (ARC) suspension on the new model is better than the magnetic ride control (MagneRide) on the old model. Push button start works flawlessly, remote start works perfectly, it has air vents for the rear seats, heated rear seats, and my favorite of all: air conditioned seats. The rear leg room adds several inches over the previous year and the bed is several inches wider. The 6.2L with 10 speed auto is amazing, plenty of towing power over the 5.3L with 6 speed. My best fuel economy is 23.7 MPG on the highway and I usually average about 18-19 MPG. The only exterior modifications i've made was the addition of a tri-fold bed cover. Overall I highly recommend the truck despite others issues and a few of my own I think it was a worthwhile purchase.

If you want tech dont get this wreck
Stereo has already stopped connecting to bluetooth. Dealer says it needs t ok get replaced. For some reason GMC only allows you to view text messages with android auto or apple car play and wait it gets better you have to plug your phone into a USB cord to do this? Which defeats the charger in the counsel that you just set your phone on? Either way I've been a chevy/GMC guy for 30 years I put a lot of road miles on and buy a new truck every two to three years and for the first time I cant wait to trade this turd in for something else. If you want tech this isn't the truck for you.

What was GM thinking
GM raised the price of the Denali by about $5000 but the changes are minor. Interior and dash barely revised with advance seating still lacking. Center armrest was raised about 1 1/2 inches making it impossible to put elbow on it even with seat at highest position. Lacks the center lane keeping that Cadillac has. Air suspension not available. No double pane sunroof option. GM did add rear air vents. All in all a disappointing update that does not make the Sierra 1500 a class leader nor worth upgrading from the previous version.

Receiver/Tailgate (UPDATE)
I just bought the 2019 gmc x31 off road slt.. Love the truck.. I bought a b&w tow and stow hitch.. In the stow position when you drop down the new multifunction tailgate step.. It hits the hitch.. Engineering over look.. Anyone of my hitches does the same.. You can not use your step with a hitch in place.. I met up with another person driving the same setup I had I ask what he didn't like about his truck.. He said I have to keep taking my hitches out so I can use my step.. Update on my 2019 GMC X31 Off road SLT I have fixed the hitch problem.. I lost a lot of sleep thinking how to fix it.. and I did.. Now I can leave my hitch in and use my tailgate to its full extent..

2019 GMC Sierra 6.2 Oil Burner
Paid a lot of money for an oil burner that GM is saying "Normal consumption". This is my 2019 Sierra SLT 6.2 with Max tow package. Truck has 10,500 KM's (6300 miles) and twice now the engine light has come on because of low oil. There isn't anyone I know that would buy a vehicle that you need to add oil at 5000 KM intervals. To trade this truck in and replace it with exactly the same truck will cost me just over $15,000.00. Of course I wouldn't even consider doing it, instead I will have to research my best options. What needs to happen is a national return policy with vehicle issues that dealers can't seem to do anything about. It's no wonder the foreign vehicle industry is doing so well. The way warranty should read is, "Buyer Beware" because that's how I feel.

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE "Recall King"
Had my 2019 Sierra since 8/01/2019. It now has 1900 miles and it's now 1/21/2020. In less than six months the vehicle has been recalled three times for not so minor problems! It is presently at the dealer for an axle squeak that only starts after appx. 50 miles of travel. There is a service bulletin for the problem that I had to let the dealer know about. Initially they looked at me cross eyed stating there was no squeak and I was imagining it. I did some research and supplied the bulletin number. I'm sure there are many other Sierras with this problem but the owners don't drive the distance needed for the problem to manifest itself! I can only imagine what this half a lemon has in store for me in the future!

Awesome Vehicle
Is everything I expected, wanted, and more. Tows my 5000 lb. trailer like there is nothing behind me. And that’s with the 5.3L with the 8 speed tranny. Very comfortable to drive even with the X31 off road package. Has been a great upgrade from a Toyota TRD.

Run Away From This Truck !!!!!!
I bought a new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 in Oct 2019. It was a very costly mistake. The dealers are aware this truck has tranny problems that cannot be be fixed. After 6 trips to the dealer the tranny problems are still there. There is a class action law suit against GM. This truck has 2700 miles on it and I traded it to get out if this nightmare. The value dropped like a rock. I lost close to 20 thousand dollars . To lose 20 thousand dollars in 6 months plus all the service calls Worst mistake of my life......Do not buy this truck

Disappointment
Our Sierra 1500 SLE has been a disappointment from the start. We traded in a Tundra, which we now regret because the Sierra 1500 just feels light and insecure on the highway, particularly in any wind. With only a few hundred miles, the fuel pump went out and we had to have it towed to the dealer. The fuel pump had to be back ordered and so we had a loaner for nearly two weeks. Now there is a recall. We got the SLE 1500 because of the payload rating for hauling our trailer, but we are likely going to trade it in on another Tundra. The SLE's cab appointment just is too spartan and we don't like the center console that folds up for a bench seat (which we will never use) and frankly the driver and passenger seats are narrow and not nearly as comfortable as the Tundra's. And having the engine shut off when stopped is annoying. Thank goodness we're able to turn off auto stop. All in all we feel we made a bad choice with the GMC.
2019 GMC AT4 is a Lemon
I bought my truck new in December of 2019. I'll list the issues below, but I have had the truck in the dealer 6 times since January for a total of about 52 days in service and loss of use. I filed a Lemon Law claim with the BBB Auto Line and this process has been ongoing for 45 days. General Motors is refusing to address my claim, forcing it to go to arbitration. I would recommend looking at another manufacturer if you're in the market for a half ton truck. -Rear view camera turns blue/black, "service rear vision system" appears on the screen. This is awell documented problem. If you google 2019 GMC service rear vision system, you'll see a litany of forum posts from other GMC and Chevrolet truck owners with the same problem. -Multiple recalls within the first 90 days of ownership -The truck rattles like a 1955 Studebaker, the dealer cannot resolve the problems -Back glass leaked water into the cab (GM has a bulletin on this problem, which was never addressed by the dealer in the first 4 service visits). -GPS SD card randomly acts like it's not inserted, prompting a message on the instrument cluster "SD card removed". -Instrument cluster flashes and flickers when the truck is started -Truck shifts hard with an audible "clunk" and shutter between first and second gear, intermittently -Had loose screws in the tailgate -When shifting from reverse to drive the infotainment screen blacks out -Infotainment system randomly shuts off, restarts, or blacks out

nice.......ride if i could get it out of the shop
one week ago I traded my 2014 for a new 2019 gmc sierra 1500 slt. I've been back to the dealer 3 times to correct problems, the worst of which is the inability of the service dept to figure out why I cant connect my trailer electrical system to the truck. but the ride is nice (when im not in the loaner)

Headlights
Headlights too bright unsafe for other drivers. I suspect future lawsuits regarding this issue.GMC fix the lights so it’s not blinding to other divers!!!!!
Two weeks in and problems already
Two weeks and I’m at 670 miles: rattling heat shield, sensors for park assist are on constant for days after a car wash, errors on screen for CF card error, GPS dead, and two recalls. Needless to say I’m not very happy with the quality controls at GMC. Nice ride, great power and this is very comfortable. For $70k, I don’t think it competes in quality controls and overalls design in comparison to other vehicles in this price range. Maybe this is a reflection of what I can expect from american made? I hope not but I never had problems with any of my Lexus vehicles.

Not Professional Grade
I grew up driving and purchasing used GM trucks. I've been fortunate enough to have minimal mechanical issues out of each of them and have not intended to buy from another company. However after my purchase of my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT and the issues it's had I will be looking at Toyota and Ford more seriously. Within the first 1,000 miles of purchasing my truck I had to have the transfer case replaced. After that rattles and cosmetic issues began to develop. Front end noise is rare but, occurs now. My brakes and their sensors had to be replaced before this recent recall because they were ruined and faulty. I currently have 31,000 miles and am scared to see what happens when I go outside of the manufacture's warranty. I will likely be trading this truck in and buying a Toyota before then.

Bouncy suspension
Update, changed out all 4 shocks to Bilstein 5100s, added a 2 inch block in rear, totally changed the ride and handling, problem solved at my expense of course.
Ups and downs
POSITIVES: bose sound, nice cloth interior, stock looks are excellent. NEGATIVES:Suspension issues from mile one. It groans, moans and rattles right side. Dealer cannot figure it out. Brake recalls were like 4 now. Transmission shifts differently in a 4cylinder turbo. Intermittently rough. Some finish issues, took my dealer 1.2 years to get the part and install.

WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER GM PRODUCT
Purchased our AT4 new in June of 2019. It has been at the dealership for the drivers seat cracking 4 times in less than 2 years. They just keep replacing the seat cover and not willing to figure out why it keeps cracking. These seats are advertised as leather but they are not all leather. Just part of them are leather and the sides are vinyl. There have been multiple recalls on the vehicle. This is also the 4th time it has been in for 4WD issues. Multiple times the truck has given us the service 4WD light. We have took it in every time and was told that it does not pull any codes. Well January 27, 2021 there was a horrible popping noise coming from the front passenger side. Took it straight to the dealership. They put it up on the rack and said we had a broken axle. Ordered the part and had it put in for us to pick up on February 8th. We had the truck less than 24 hours and it started making the same noise. Immediately took it back to the dealership. The tech drove it around the lot, put it back up on the rack and was able to move the axle around with his hand. Had to leave the truck with them. They called the next day saying that the whole front differential had to be replaced due to there was metal shavings in the fluid. Today is now April 1, 2021 and our truck is still sitting at the dealership waiting on the part. Was originally told that GM shipped the part back at the beginning of February but it never arrived at the dealership. Was then told by GM that they would not ship another part until the one they shipped was located. We have made calls to the dealership and GM every other day and now being told that their is not a part available for the truck. We was lied to last week from GM by a rep telling us another part got shipped but could not provide a tracking or a ETA of the part. It should not take 8 weeks and counting to have a warranty repair done. This is the first GMC vehicle that we have ever purchased and it will be the last. We are going back to Ford Trucks as soon as this thing is out of the shop. I will update this whenever we finally get it back.

Optimistically Disappointed
What is Customer Service? My 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD that I still own today has just over 50k miles. Not a daily driver. In 2016 There was a transmission recall for that particular power train. Acura sent me a letter and told me to immediately stop driving the vehicle and I did. I made arrangements through the dealership to have it picked up. They provided me a FREE loaner vehicle for over 3 months due to the back log. They fixed the transmission issue and extended my factory power train warranty an extra 12 months at no cost. I picked up my Acura TL from the dealership completely detailed with a full tank of gas. After I signed the paperwork in the service department they apologized about the issue with a handshake and I'm a black man so that blew me away! But I digress. Fast forward to my FIRST EVER brand new 2019 GMC SIERRA SLE dream truck. I started experiencing a transmission issue almost immediately. Once I backed out of my carport and put it in drive it would jerk violently. As I started down the hwy it would get better as if nothing was wrong. I found that when it sits a few days and I back it out of my carport it Jenks violently every time. But if I parked where I didn't have to back it out when the vehicle was cold it didn't jerk as bad. I contacted the dealership, they checked it and didn't find anything wrong. This issue is about OWNERSHIP and INTEGRITY by General Motors. Let's be clear, this is clearly a defective design. You can write blog, send a email, complain until your blue in the face and chat forums. To say that General Motors is clearly putting profit over ACCOUNTABILITY and INTEGRITY is the understatement of the year. GM should absolutely do what's right but my guess is the Class Action Lawsuit and I'm all in because I've read tooooo many blogs and forums about this transmission problem. DISGUSTING!!!! And I won't even mention the electronic issues!
Good truck
Better truck than the others
Tired
I have a new 2019 GMC Sierra beautiful truck. Been to the dealer 3 times computer problems. If they can build them why can't they fix them. Hope it's not a lemon.

Inferior quality - 1.5years / 20k miles ownership
This is my experience with my new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z31 with Premium Package (~$60k MSRP). The only thing Premium about this vehicle is the price tag. Nothing else. Definitely not “industrial grade” as advertised. The new body style looks good, the interior is nice, seats are comfortable, the ride quality is really good at constant speed (especially on long road trips), and the gas mileage is decent (17 city / 20 hgwy). Plenty of power from the 5.3L V8. Shifting of the 8-speed transmission ‘though is bit jerky, and slowing down to a stop is rough as well (there is an ongoing class-action lawsuit related to the 8-speed transmission). The build quality, along with whatever they call “customer service” however, is just so subpar to anything I’ve owned or otherwise driven before. Just as I turned out of the lot, I switched on the navigation, I noticed it wasn’t working (during the test drive the screen display was set to show the radio) – the whole nav card reader unit had to be replaced (took several days to receive the part). The dealership obviously didn’t bother to check that at least all the basics work prior to handover. In addition to the several safety recalls and other warranty repairs within the first 1.5 years (detailed list further below), at 15k miles I noticed a soaked carpet on the driver side. I had 3 visits to the Service dpt to try to have it diagnosed and repaired, as it is trivial knowledge that the accumulation of moisture/water inside the vehicle leads to development of bacteria and mold, and exposure to mold poses a high risk for severe health problems (in addition to corrosion issues). According to GM and the dealership, however, moisture accumulation “is a normal condition when AC mode is pointed to floor with AC on” (stated on their work order sheet). I've never used the AC in that mode before, btw. I filed a complaint with GM Customer Care to have them re-evaluate, but on their final resolution GM stated that “it is a normal characteristic of the vehicle”. Say what?? Maybe of a $500 rustbox it is, but not of a $60k vehicle. Considering that I still have full warranty and yet neither the dealership nor GM is willing to do anything about this, I have to say this is the worst customer service / support I’ve ever experienced. Full list of experienced issues and repairs within the first 1.5 years (20k miles): • Navigation card reader unit not functioning – replaced • Front camera malfunction – replaced • Misaligned hood – repaired • Misaligned cargo bed (relative to cabin) – repaired • Passenger side mirror cover rattle – replaced mirror • Rearview mirror rattle – repaired • Outside temperature gauge consistently reads 4 °F over actual temperature – GM considers this normal • Moisture accumulation on carpet on driver side – GM considers this normal • Recall performed for Electronic Stability Control (Due to an Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software error, the vehicle's Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Antilock Brake System (ABS) may become disabled) • Recall performed for seat belts pre-tensioner (When the front seat belt pre-tensioners deploy, hot gas may vent through an opening in the pre-tensioner bracket, possibly igniting the carpet.) • Recall performed for Service Brakes Hydraulic Power Assist (These vehicles received updated software for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). This software has an error, and as a result, the vehicle's electronic brake assist may be disabled.) • Recall performed for Positive Battery Cable (the battery positive (B+) cable rings may have been manufactured with excessive glue, potentially causing an intermittent electrical connection between the B+ cable and alternator.)
