Updated at 40 months of ownership. Screen freeze reported on last update. I just love this car. Feels like it was designed for my body type. Loves. Self parking. AWD means great traction on slippery roads. Voice control is awesome. “ set temperature to 68. “. Done. Bottom line. Ford put a mid grade Lincoln inside a Ford body. That best describes it. Updated after owning for 32 months. Low mileage driver. Used every day. Update. Screen frozen at 30 months, with 13,500 miles on the car. Car still started and ran fine. Lost all screen functions. The dealer replaced the APIM. Car now is better than new. The screen has added features. The screen turns off immediately when exiting and locking the car. Previously took 30 seconds to several minutes. Dealer gave me a loaner for the 5 days it took to order the part and install it. I have the Platinum model with AWD, and Park Assist. Despite the APIM failure, I really love this car. First update. Very enjoyable to drive. All features work perfectly. Still amazed that a vehicle with every option, including self parking, would have no flaws, other than the window bounce back issue, which occurred in the first few weeks of ownership. Initial complaint after taking delivery. After repeated window bounce back issues, I researched and found 5 tech bulletins on this one issue. Printed it. Brought it to the dealer and said follow these instructions. Problem solved. They originally said they had never heard of this issue. Original review. 3 months, 1600 miles. Local driving. 19 mpg. Premium gas recommended, but not required. This is the 2.0 turbocharged engine. Window rollback issue. Dealership showed me how to fix it. Happens periodically. Leary about valet parking outdoors for that reason. That’s the bad. The good. Platinum model is awesome. VG acceleration. Awesome interior. Love NAV and every feature of the entertainment system. An absolute dream car. My 4 year old Acura was essentially totalled by a 97 year old driver going 5 mph. This Fusion, though the same weight as the Acura, feels much more substantial. Love the self parking feature. Lane keeper takes getting used to. Love being in the car. I feel like I’m in first class. Did take the 7 year, zero deductible Ford warranty, at a good price. After reading complaints, glad I did.

Nice fit and finish, Easy fuel capless fails

I love the exterior design, nice fit and finish. Quality of interior material is top notch for a family sedan. Car feels safe and solid. It is very quiet on the highway even at 75 mph. The easy fuel capless is a nightmare to use. When fueling, it keeps cutting off every 0.5 to 1.5 gallons even though the tank is not full. It feels like force feeding a fussy baby. I am thinking about bringing it to a dealer to fix it but many people online wrote that they have brought their cars to the dealers and the dealers kept saying there is nothing wrong with it. One more item I dislike about this car is that the baby car seat latches are very difficult to used. They are about 3 inches deep between the seat and the backrest. I have leather seats and the seat and backrest fit incredibly tight thus it is extremely difficult to access the latch because they are so deep inside. I am a male and sometimes removing the car seat takes about 10 to 15 minutes. It is certainly impossible for my wife to install or remove the Graco Snugride 30 car seat. I don't know why Ford doesn't fix these two issues that are so simple to fix. After searching online I can see that people complain year after year since 2010. Don't put the car seat latches so deep inside. Fix the easy fuel capless system. I rather have a fuel cap.

The Definitive Version of the Ford Fusion!

Dan Wyke, 07/13/2018
2017 Ford Fusion Sport 4dr Sedan AWD (2.7L 6cyl Turbo 6A)

This is the third Ford Fusion that I've owned, out of trade-ins and ups. I wouldn't have purchased another if it weren't for the Sport. I loved my 15 Titanium, best car I ever drove, but this car knocked my socks off when I test-drove it. It is everything I love about the Titanium with the horse power of a Mustang. We'll hit the good stuff first. The car looks incredible, people always ask, "Is that a Fusion?" The mesh grille, LED lights, quad tip exhaust, and rims set this car apart from the other trim models. Really, this is a different car entirely from the other trims. The power is amazing, hitting the pedal results in some serious fun for a 4 door sedan. In car entertainment and technology is very streamlined, with the exception of the ever-behind-the-times navigation system. I use Apple CarPlay and let my phone do the navigating when necessary. I also find the bluetooth pairing to be cumbersome and sometimes unreliable, so I just don't use it. The seats are comfortable enough for a 4+ hour drive. Now the not-so-good stuff, I don't say bad because I haven't found anything bad about this car yet. The transmission is weird in its shift points, mainly between 2nd and 3rd. The steering doesn't inspire, but it gets the job done. Brakes could use a minor upgrade due to the weight of the car, especially the rears. Overall, this is the best car I've ever owned, so much so that I have put a good deal of money on mods improving the look and performance of it even more. I don't normally "invest" in a car, but I love this little monster!

Worst purchase ever

I got rid of a fully loaded 2007 Passat for a 2017 Fusion Titanium. After a week of driving the car started hesitating and shifting roughly. Now it has some weird computer problem where a few times a week the car freaks out and the entire sync 3 infotainment system stops working and AC compressor shuts off. I’ve been to the dealer they say drop it off and we’ll get back to you within 2 weeks but no loaner car until after the 2 week period. I can’t go 2 weeks without a car so I’m left disconnecting the battery overnight every time this happens. I’m getting rid of this car and never buying another Ford again. At least with a Volkswagen I would have a loaner car even for simple oil changes.
