I love this car !
This car is amazing! After showing to my family members i think we can all agree on how comfortable the car is to be in for any sized person. It drives so smooth, and is just an all around good car. I commute to college and being in a car for almost 2 hours a day, I'll never get sick of getting into my Fusion. I couldnt be happier with my purchase. Justin and the Freehold Ford dealership made my experience buying this car a great one that i know i won't regret it.

Don't believe the hype!
The car is incredibly noisy inside the cabin for such an expensive vehicle. Performance from the 2.0 Ecoboost is great for a 4 cylinder. Fuel mileage is rated at 34 mpg, but I have yet to see better than 30 on a long highway run. My V8 Mustang did better than that. It does get about 27 mpg combined. The transmission is very unpredictable. This is the one thing that really makes the car feel like a 4 cylinder. Don't pay for the tech package! I was really hoping the Sync system would have improved beyond its reputation by now, but it is about 50% useless - especially navigation. I am seriously thinking about replacing the factory system with an iPad but I would lose the only manual control of the heated steering wheel. The remote start works well with a great range. It's really nice to get in the car with pre-warmed seats and steering wheel.

A classy car without bankrupcy
For 25 years I drove Jaguars and Nissan Maximas, both fine cars (with the exception of Jaguar's Lukas electronic which kept me visiting my mechanic). My mechanic suggested I purchase a Ford Fusion Titanium for its fine ecoboost 2 liter engine and European sports car feel, one he said was comparable to the Maxima and Jaguars I had owned, but at a sticker price that would not be in the 40 thousand dollar and up stratosphere. I took his advice, realizing I was buying a brand that lacked the cachet of my previous cars. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that my Fusion matched every standard of style, roadability, cornering, and comfort offered by more expensive vehicles. If the Maxima had a reputation for being a poor man's BMW, the Ford Fusion surely can be labeled a smart man's bargain. I reasoned I saved an additional 5 to 20 thousand dollars by not buying a snob brand. That's sufficient to quiet my fears I may be looked down upon when I pass all those expensive European darlings so many people buy. The ecoboost is not a threat to win the Daytona 500, but it certainly has enough gumption to please eager speedsters looking for a red-light race. I now have almost ten thousand miles on my Fusion Titanium and nothing has happened to alter my high praise for my car. It handles like my old Jaguars and Maximas, hugging the road around corners with the ease of driving on superhighways, and the four cylinder eco boost turbo provides quick and seamless acceleration. The road noise is muffled, allowing a quiet and comfortable cabin to enjoy favorite symphony or concerto on the Sony sound system. I will buy another Fusion, though I might be tempted to opt for the new V-6 option.

Looks are deceiving
Rent one before buying. I have owned 9 Ford's including British ones and this one is the best looking. But it has had a number of nagging small issues like the camera sensor, the defroster, alarm, etc. Several recalls and the worst part, those annoying dealerships. This will easily be my last Ford unless I move back to England. MPG is sad on the City averaging about 21mpg; however on the highway I average nearly 37. Still better than GM products but I'll go back to foreign cars.

NOT for use on gravel roads!!!
This car is probably great if you never drive on gravel roads. Unfortunately, I drive on gravel everyday. This car sits very low to the ground. I have even had trouble with scraping the bottom on sudden rises when driving in town. On gravel, I have to be extremely careful not to drag the car when driving over ruts or potholes. Even worse, this car is very prone to getting gravel stuck in the rotors, causing a loud, irritating, screeching noise. This started for the first time when I had around 400 miles on the car. I now have less than 3000 miles on the car, and I have had this problem several times since. A week ago, it got so bad that I finally had it checked out because I was afraid there was something more wrong with the car than just a rock stuck in the rotor. I took it in to the dealer and, sure enough, there was a piece of gravel stuck in the rotor, causing the car to screech. I had the rotors cleaned, at my own expense, as the warranty wouldn't cover it. Today, one week later, I hopped in the car and guess what, it's screeching again!!! Very frustrating to have to deal with this with a brand-new car. I don't understand what it is about this car that is causing this problem. I have always driven on gravel roads daily, and I have always done so in a car this size or smaller, but have never had problems like this before. If I had known that I would be listening to this car screech before it had even had its first oil change, I would NEVER have bought it! If you live on a gravel road, keep shopping!

This is a car
Dear Edmund: This is car. It has four wheels and drives. You can take it to the store or to work. There are other places you can drive it if you want to. I like this car. I am handsome. That said, this car makes me even handsomer. You should probably buy a Ford Fusion. KR Update: Dear Edmund: The car and I continue our walk towards fifty, I with greying temples and a more nuanced outlook on life and my beautiful Ford with but a blemish from small rock dropped by an inconsiderate dump truck on an interstate highway. We persevere, the marks of time never impairing inner gracef and dignity. Thank you for asking. I hope your universe also finds you well. Yours sincerely, I suppose. KR Update: Dear Edmund: Salutations to you and yours in this most challenging of all years. I and my Fusion roll onward into what promises to be a winter of generalize discontent. I have crossed in sixth decade of servitude upon this veil of tears and my intrepid friend into her eighth decade of mileage. We do so with bravery, passion and resolution. Mr. Friedrich Nietszche believed that the things which do not kill us make us stronger. Ms. Kelly Clarkson, a century a half after Nietszche shared the same moral vision. So it is with I and my Fusion. With good habits, character, open eyes and regular trimming of an ever-more-greying beard, a man will remain handsome and effectual well past the midpoint of his life. So it is with my Ford. Her brake pads and rotors became tired. But a restorative cleanse retreat at the dealer has renewed my beloved and given her a new outlook! She stops just as she once did. In all ways she feels right as rain! She remains as beautiful as the day we first met, and I take no notice of the indentation that mysteriously appeared — probably an uninvited love tap from an impetuous harasser — on a day she waited for me in the parking lot of the hardware store. I am sure my beloved and her irish gave the offensive character a good smacking in return. I did not ask what happened ...for it meant nothing. Edmund, I reiterate my hope that you are well and most appreciate your inquiry. You are a thoughtful friend to keep up our correspondence. Do not allow this world to be too much with you. For what other people think — how they review us — ultimately matters little. Life is impermanent. Some day, I and my Ford Fusion will part ways. That day, however, is a long way off and I and she will continue to seize all the opportunities that this life gives us. I hope you do the same my friend. I remain, KR Dear Edmund: Greetings and salutations my old friend. Thank you for asking. Edmund, I must confess that I am disappointed in you as a friend. While it is kind of you to inquire upon my Ford Fusion ... she purrs like a kitten and carries on with grace and aplomb... you have volunteered precious little of your life. I’m beginning to think that our correspondence is one-sided. Perhaps it is the unintentional inconsideration of a young man on the move. A man busied upon by the universe. Allow me to bestow a bit of advice. The world is too much with us, late and soon. Getting and spending we lay waste our powers. Conserve thy strength dear friend. And worry not about me and my beloved Ford Fusion. For together we are drinking life to the leas! I remain, KR

I love Ford
I have owned several Ford's, an escort, a focus, and an escape, I keep going back to Ford, because the customer service is excellent, the prices are good and the cars are nice. I am especially impressed with my new fusion. It is so spacey. I love the backup camera and the handling when driving. EXCELLENT!

Ex Ford racer retires but still likes performance.
As a twice previous winner in the World Ford Motorsports Drag Race Challenge and now retired, I needed a car that would do as I asked. This 2016 Fushion Titanium Turbo does just that. Anytime I ask. I have had 10.00 second e.g. cars and this at times is as much fun without the cost. I would recommend this car to anyone with heart. I will never sell this one.

Very nice surprise
The description above states all wheel drive. This is incorrect. The car has front wheel drive. This car car was a lease vehicle with just over 22,000 miles. It actually has the 1.5 turbo ecosport engine. The car runs great especially on the interstates. Driving back to PA from Toledo, I got 41.2 mpg traveling at 73 mph. Nice instrumentation, very easy to use. Very comfortable seats. The memory feature for the seats is great. I'm completely satisfied and would recommend this car without any restrictions.

2016 Fusion, back again for second tour
I own a 2012 Fusion SEL with 162,000 miles which was a CPO, as is this car. It has been excellent and virtually trouble-free and it was time for a newer vehicle. I drive 40,000 miles a year for my sales job and comfort and reliability is paramount to me, along with an American brand when visiting jobsites that are riddled with Ram, Ford, and Chevy/GMC pickups. The last Fusion was Mexican built (as most are) and my new acquisition was built in Flint Rock MI. My 2016 is an SE with FWD and the 1.5 4-cylinder Ecoboost (no option was available in Edmund's to pick that model). The car has the Luxury and Tech packages, plus a sunroof, so it's practically a Titanium save for the 2.0 Ecoboost motor and no Sony radio - but this unit is upgraded to ten speakers and sounds very good. This kept the price thousands lower due to the SE tag. I was nervous about the concept of Ecoboost when it first came about, but now about 5 years later feel comfortable. The car will not win any drag races, but it's certainly adequately powered. No turbo lag that I can discern. I intend to run K & N air and oil filters and full synthetic Valvoline oil to help with power and turbo longevity. The aftermarket Fram air filter is $23, the K & N $50 and can be washed to reuse, so I figured, why not? The Fusion has a personality, unlike the Accord and Camry, with a sporty feel, and the touchscreen interface (now upgraded in 2017 models onward) is not tough to master despite some rough reviews on the various car websites. I do miss the large knobs of the 2012 Fusion radio, but at least this unit still has them. Also, the touch buttons of the climate control and seat heaters were changed to real buttons in 2016, with redundancy in the touchscreen as well. I am a big fan of the turn signals within the side-view mirrors, and the auto-dimming driver's side view (and rear view) are godsends to me at night. But I miss my change drawer----yes, some of us still pay cash for tolls and parking meters! The sunroof shade is still flimsy, but at least there is no "bleed" of light through the leading edge anymore. LED interior lighting is a big upgrade. The basic leather seats are excellent so far. New headrests are a giant improvement. I think the electric steering is a bit overboosted and provides less road "feel" than before. Center console, door pockets and glovebox are all substantially increased in capacity. Trunk is deeper but a bit narrower due to the old-school hinges for the lid. The headlights are outstanding and a huge improvement, even without using the fog lights. First tank of gas MPG was just under 30 with mostly highway driving at 75-80 MPH. I had it as high as 31 when I was keeping to 55-60 on country roads.

Great car for the price
I bought the base line model and so far really like it. I traded in a 2005 Altima, that I have been driving for 11 years. This car feels solid and well built. No issues to speak of. The sync features work great. I cant speak towards reliability yet, as it only has about 700 miles.

My personal Batmobile
I love this car! After driving my father-in-law's 2015 Fusion SE, I fell in love. At the time I was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited with check engine light (bought it brand new mind you) Chrysler was never able to fix the issue or figure out what it was. With it in the shop more than on the road I had time to learn his Fusion. I purchased my 2016 Fusion Titanium Fwd on July 25 with all the bells and whistles. It as a demo, so I got a pretty good deal on it. LOVE THIS CAR!! **UPDATE** A little over a year later and I'm still in love with his car. I'm not very happy with some of the changes Ford has made with the 2017 models, so I will be holding on to my 2016 for a while.

need physical therepy
this is not a vehicle to use to drive more than 1 hour. the seats caused my legs to get numb.. drove this 2400 miles and I was sore for 2 days after I returned it. the good is MPG 32, brakes also. the bad directional control too high/road vibs in the steering wheel / stability on uneven hywy vehicle rocks side to side/ steering is too tight ,just a small movement causes the vehicle to move too much/engine is loud on loading up grades/transmission stays in high gear too long on slowing down/engine has not compression, low torque. the real bad , delay in acceleration when stopped .. when the power pedal is depressed at idle the engine is not engaging for about 1.5 sec.. not good when trying to get back on the road .

New Car Should Not Have Problems
Rented this car from Enterprise with only 8,000 miles. Was driving it on the highway when a wrench light came on and the accelerator lost all power. I could only brake and was forced to the side of the rode. I let the car sit awhile and then started it back up without any problems. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened a day later. This car clearly has an engine problem related to the intake or gas. There is no excuse for a brand new car to have any issues, especially related to the engine. I will never purchase a Ford.

Almost perfect!!!
You will be pleased with almost every aspect of this vehicle. The only thing that is not outstanding or highly rated is the acceleration from a stop or when you have to accelerate rapidly, like when merging into freeway traffic.

Great delivery car
The 2016 model seems a little longer and narrower than previous models. But you get used to that quickly. The 4 new tires are like magnets to the road and it is great for urban driving. I drive for Grubhub and this vehicle suits my needs perfectly. Its a fine vehicle and you should seriously consider it if you get the right price. I'm very satisfied. The 2.5L 4 cyl. could be more powerful, especially when getting on and off interstates.

Bought our 16 Fusion Titanium with 12k miles, 52k now. Great drivability and ride! Glides on the new Michelens. Have had Acura, Honda and Ford. Like this Fusion the best. Good pickup, comfortable leather seats, even after 8 hours, reasonable mileage. Always get compliments on looks. Does it all.

Styling, Performance, Luxury
Bought the 2.0 EcoBoost AWD used 18 months ago. Hands down, best car I’ve ever bought. It has all of the styling, features and performance of a car 2-3 times its price. I live in the Rocky Mountain region and this machine is a beast in the snow at high altitude. She drives like it is on rails with great handling and a smooth, quiet ride at highway speed. The heated seats and wheel with the remote start makes cold winter mornings oh so warm and toasty.

my best car ever
I have owned this car since new and outside of 2 set of tires, 1 set of wipers (they lasted 6 years in the Arizona sunlight), 2 batteries, and regular pm service the car has done great for the 96,000 I have traveled. I love this car. Big trunk, great rear seat room, and very comfortable front seats. The hvac system is great in the heat (110 plus summer temps), as well as the cold (low 30's in Arizona).

Ford Fusion - Now a relic of the past -
For the Ford Fusion. I test drove all 3 versions. The 2.5 Duratech Ford built engine is under powered, and noisy, especially when accelerating and basically it is unrefined in my opinion. That's why this model with the 2.5 is always cheaper where ever you see it. . They could have probably put that engine in the focus and got away with it. However, If you don't mind that, go ahead an buy it and save about 4,000 because no body really wants it. But other than that, it's essentially the same car. The 1.5 echo boost is a bit stronger and is a better than the 2.5, but is still a bit noisy on acceleration. The 2.0 is probably the right choice for this car, but you take a hit in fuel economy and it's hard to buy one unless it's a fully loaded, very expensive, SE version or Titanium. For a car this size, I was expecting a better suspension. Even the compact less expensive, smaller, Ford Focus suspension gives a better ride (don't buy that car - google class action lawsuit - transmission ford focus). The ride is not bad though on the Fusion - just okay. I would not recommend it for long trips because the rear suspension seems to be partially sport tuned and stiff and you can feel the whole car rattle from the back on some that you hit. Also the front drivers seat lacks some support. Now you know why it's cheaper than it's competitors. One of the big downers of this car in my opinion is that Ford Forces you take on the 2017, 18, 19 models, a push button start and a Knob transmission. Whereas other major auto manufacturers give you a choice on some of their cars to take that or the normal shift and key ignition. The push button electronic start, I did have one on another Ford Titanium car I had owned. I do not recommend it. Eventually it burns out or malfunctions and it's a trip and 1/2 to get it to start - and scary especially if you are out of warranty. You are much safer with the key that turns the mechanism rather than relying on electronic start from the push button on the dash, especially from a Ford. Now if it was a BMW push start, I might have a different opinion. The transmission knob (instead of a traditional shift), looks cool but is awkward and dangerous in my opinion. With an automatic shift, I can shift it up and down with my eyes closed if I had to, but in the very least they stay glued to the road. But with this, I have to periodically stare down for 10 or 15 seconds or so and see what exactly I am shifting into. Ford arrogantly installed this on all models from 17 to present without doing the research and asking the customers what they want. Coincidentally consumer reports, April 2018 edition stated that models from 2017 and later show worse than average reliability in Power equipment and in-car electronics. (it's not a coincidence in my opinion!), while 16's, 15's, 14's etc, have better than average reliability in those areas. I am sending them a message by not buying any of their Ford Fusion cars from 17 or newer and I hope you will the same. By the way, the dealer that we visited had an abundance of brand new 17, 18, fusions still on the lot. (that should tell you something - yes?) But if none of what I told you bother you, you could probably get a good deal price wise if you bargain on a 17 or 18 and get it for less money than an 19 or 20 (it's essentially the same car), even though the 18 has large rebate until 1/1/2019. Now as I am adding to the review in 5/2020, Ford has discontinued this midsize sedan. That means no more are going to be made. That means, if they don't have enough confidence to build, sell this car and make a profit, do you really want it? For example: Toyota is still selling a midsize Camry Sedan; and Honda is still selling a midsize accord sedan and Hyundai is still selling a midsize Sonata Sedan and Chevy is still, etc, etc. Do you get the point? And then think about availability of parts and so forth as time goes on. How many of these parts will the dealer really keep in stock when the car is discontinued? I would steer clear if I were you. As of 11/2020, a lot more repairs than the average car. As of 12/2020 it's been discontinued. So it's now a low priority for Ford. If they don't think it's good enough to build any more, why should you buy any?

Very Impressed!
Other than a throttle control recall this base model is everything I expected. Performance is very adequate (for a 70 year old), gas mileage is unbelievable (40 MPG on on a drive from Las Vegas to Detroit (I never go over 70 MPH) ride and handling is the best I have ever had. The standard equipment is beyond my expectations. I had 2 Malibu's and they just didn't measure up to the Fusion in price or standard options. This Fusion is hands down the best value for the money in my 50 years of car ownership.

They fixed all the problems that my car was experiencing and it has been humping along ever since. It started out with some hiccups but they are slowing going away. When they arise Ford does a pretty good job fixing them.

Love my 2016 Fusion SE
Purchased used about 3 weeks ago. Ride and handling and comfort is excellent. 2.0 L turbocharged 4 cylinder has enough power and fuel economy for my combined city/hwy is about 28 MPG--impressive. I have the plain-Jane interface so no touch screen or navigation--would like to have had that. Only complaint is that the automatic parking brake control is, to me, backwards. Overall love the car and very impressed.

Best engine for a 2.0 liter
Acceleration is just amazing with the turbo, while fuel consumption is very good if you do not abuse it. Cargo room is great, front seats very comfortable (heated), leg room for back seats is limited if driver and front passenger are 6 feet tall and access is cumbersome. Purchased the vehicle with 43K miles, at about 60 K miles had rear breaks fixed, (disk re-finished, new pads) This was only repair so far, car has now 63 K miles and is going good. Definitively recommended, Ford did a good job. Indicated purchase price includes taxes, fees, etc. 2020-01-25 Vehicle has 74K miles now, no complaints or repairs, one recall done, other will be done next week( potential corrosion of power steering motor mounts); like the paddle shifters (use them a lot) and the shifter stick (last model year before introduced the rotary shifter knob which I hate) All in all areal good/successful vehicle, hope Ford continues making it for a few years.

Bought new and drove it until it had about 118K on it, traded it in for a new 2021 Ford Ranger but I do miss my Fusion. Never had any issues with it, only had one recall. It was jerky at times at slow speeds almost like its trying to find what gear it needs but I believe that's common with Ford or CVT's in general? 99% of the time drove like a dream especially on long car trips, very comfortable.

Fusion engine block cracks at 70k to 100k
If you own a Ford Fusion get rid of it NOW. The engine block is about to Crack and the FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS WELL AWARE OF THIS. It happened to me. I have been a loyal Ford owner for over 25 years. Traded one Ford for another. When I called Ford Motor Company for help, they acknowledged they knew about the Fusion motor blowing up and basically it sucked to be me they refused to help in anyway. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER buy another Ford. Get rid of your Ford Fusion now. The FORD Motor company said "if you repair or replace the engine, keep your receipts. There might be a recall on engine" but key word is MIGHT!

This car isn't worth owning if you live In a area where it snows . AWD version is way to go avoid front wheel

Premium sedan feel for an affordable price
Overall I enjoy driving this car. I drive this about 70 miles per day with my commute and have driven on long trips also. It's a very good driving car. Visibility is good and acceleration is ample for merging and passing, etc. The AWD works perfect in snowy conditions along with proper snow tires. I always get compliments on the look of the exterior and interior. My biggest complaint is the functionality of the headlights. Even with the Titanium trim, halogen lights are standard and do not believe HID is an option. Headlights are not bright and do not project well, at all. I always have the fog lamps on to supplement the lack of light. After purchase I did replace the OEM lamps with Sylvania Silverstars to help. Test drive this car at night to be sure you can deal with this problem. At 40k I was told rear pads and rotors are needed. The transmission shifts hard and hesitates when the car is cold during very cold days. Seems to get better in the warmer months. Now that the miles are stacking up i definitely see the flaws in quality of the powertrain. Still, not a terrible car but you can find better quality and mileage in a Japanese sedan.
