Over Priced and outdated
I would have bought the 2018 ST model if I could have gotten a deal on one. Sadly the dealerships are selling these cars for more money than what they sold for last year in my region. The new 2019 North America model is even cheaper and less of a value. Why doesn't Ford bring the same specification offered in Europe at a value price to entice this type of a car? I searched last year and this year and was in the market for it however the pricing was higher this year than last year. At 16-17k the car is extremely attractive any higher than this and the car quickly loses appeal as the car depreciation appears to be extremely high. After search high and low for a deal I ended up getting a used car that offers better technology and value. Low two star ratings is based primarily on price. If you can get one for 16K new then the car would be a 5 star for featureset and value. Lots of nice cars out there for the price... Not new but good nice cars.

A blast to drive
I've owned this car since 2019, I bought it new. It's has to be one of the best handling cars I've ever I owned. It handles like a motorcycle on curvy mountain roads, it likes doing 70 on the freeway. I average 32 mpg year around, but have gotten near 40 mpg on long trips. The only Con is since it's the base model S is manual windows, no cruise control and the cramped back seat!
Suprisingly fun to drive!!
While its no Hellcat, it still has plenty of pep and takes corners very well! The transmission can feel a tad bit sluggish at times, but it's not all that bad. The interior is basic, but it does everything you'd need from a small inexpensive vehicle.

Great MPG car, shoddy in all other aspects
I got this car for my job as I needed something that was cheap on gas and fuel efficient. While it did meet that, everything else I experienced with this car was not good. Mine had the check engine light come on and started exhibiting more sluggish acceleration than the norm for an engine that small. Took it and got it checked for codes and it was throwing P0420 catalyst system below threshold, with the suggested solution of replacing catalytic converter. I did that, and for a week no check engine light came on, but then it returned with again P0420 codes. I had the oxygen sensors replaced as someone said that could trigger that code and the CEL. Did that solve it? Nope!!! Came right back on the next day, and again acceleration continued to be sluggish. I ended up giving it back to the dealer as I wasn't willing to invest anymore money into it. While it was a quick turning car, it was not a very good riding car. Least little bump or crack in the roadway could be felt rather significantly, and cabin space was very cramped. I was frequently experiencing cramping in my legs and low back pain because of the poor space in the cabin. And there was VERY little room for backseat passengers. The dual clutch transmission was not good. Going up mountains you could tell it was in a strain, and even going up small inclines it would stay at high RPM without changing to the next gear. Overall, I would say it was quite an underwhelming car that would have turned into a money pit if I had stuck with it. Was happy to give it back.
