After one year still love driving it. Nice power, rides lke a car. Not good on gas, but the ablity to use of low octane helps.

Love my Escape. 2 problems...brake routers warp and need turning or replacement frequently. 121000km and the engine has died. Will replace with a newer Escape. Reliable, great cargo hauling, good basic transportation.

Cheap & overpriced!

Will get you from a to b; that's about it. Trading it in on the Nissan Pathfinder I should have bought. Had an '01 & '03 Pathfinder -- should have stayed with them! Have an '05 Escape with 11000 miles and I really DO NOT LIKE this vehicle. Has been reliable & exterior looks great -- everything else is cheaply made, poorly assembled -- terrible materials on the inside. Ford wonders why nobody wants their cars?

This is our second Escape. Our 2002 model XLT was flawless and it fit our needs perfectly on the back roads of VT. We found that it held value and wanted to try the new model with the intelligent 4WD system . So far it has been excellent, great on all types of road conditions, spacious cabin and a car like feeling driving it. As of this review I look forward to another improved Escape in the future.

Mine was built on Friday

The vehicle is fun to drive, sure footed in snow, and a great family vehicle. But the build quality is questionable and I couldn't see this vehicle lasting more than 60k miles without a lot of repairs. My Escape has has multiple issues due to a water leak under or near the firewall. This has caused multiple electical issues from random power accessories failing, radio turning on when key is removed and turned off, wet floors, and the nice smell of mildew. Multiple trips to the dealer has yet to bring my truck back to new - so it's going to be traded in on something else - possibly an Escape. Mine was just built on Friday. :(
