Bad On Gas but Really Hauls (Fast)
My Magnum RT RWD is a keeper. People stop, point, talk, stare and roll down windows, they ask "What is it? or "Love your car". It is thumbs up everywhere. Manual trans is a blast - winding roads or freeway. Huge inside for towing or guests. Stero rocks. Satelite radio is fantastic. U connect is the best and safe and really works! Love the car, but ran out of gas twice already by not watching the gauge. It goes and goes fast and is expensive to keep filled and prices are not going down. Dealers are demanding $5K-$10K over MSRP and not budging in negotiations so far.
Initial Quality
Within 140 miles of use, a serious transmission problem was discovered. Also, the cooling fan clicks on and off way too often to be normal. And the factory tint on the windows is not removeable, making it impossible to change the tint on the windowsaft of the front passenger windows.
Family Hauler + Hemi Fun = SUV Alt
I just traded my Durango for the Hemi powered Magnum. Frankly the family didn't need all the space in trade for MPG's. I had to have the utility of an SUV just not the size, but I personally wanted some style. The Magnum was the only option. Toss in the Hemi and it was a no-brainer. I love the agility and responsiveness of the Magnum, the wife loves the practicality, and the kids aren't embarrassed to be seen in it. I've only had it a few days, so the verdict is still out on the quality and reliability. Everything else is nothing less than perfection, given all other things being relatively equal. I hope to enjoy it for many years to come.
Solid Car, but will it last?
This is my first Dodge, and I am still a bit nervous if this car will last. So far, so good. Just call me paranoid. This car has a lot of room and a very smooth ride. Already had to take it in for Airbag light and now have a slight pop in the dash. No biggie, just annoying. The "trunk" area is kinda cheap, but my last car was a 323 Wagon, so I am getting used to driving an American car again. Overall, very happy as long as it last four years.
sUPER wAGON
Purchased in July, and get many looks and compliments, no complaints to date, except mileage around town with "mds" is never above 11.5 mpg. Quality is as good as any other foreign car, and yet it gets more looks than any common Asian or European vehicle. I have the ability to upgrade engine modifications for performance and looks from dodge division, and not to mention aftermarket parts. When I want the power it is there instantly to the point it can be hair raising!!! Best parts of package is traction control it will most possibly never loose control unless pushed beyond it or any other vehicle's limits. Experienced it at 80 mph lost control and came back with no problem.
