Used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse Consumer Reviews
Gutless wonder
Not exactly sure the trim as it was a rental which had 20k miles. Vehicle drove and handled ok but saying it is week kneed passing another vehicle is giving it more credit than it deserves; everyone riding in the vehicle laughed at how loud engine got while flooring gas pedal but took a long long long time to pass a car in a 45 zone in moderate traffic where quickness is sometimes needed to maneuver around vehicles. I would most definitely recommend test drive with acceleration test b4 purchasing this rig instead of going off the clearly misguided review that I also laughed at. Also, poor gas millage even when not driving with a lead foot.

Traverse in Reverse
Great vehicle in the class. Other brands feel a bit more upscale in materials for the interior yet the Traverse interior doesn't seem cheap. We have the technology package and the wifi hotspot was helpful in some situations during the trial period, but not worth the monthly fee. The 20inch tires, 2nd row captains chairs and heated driver & passenger seats made it worth while. When 3rd row is in use the cargo area becomes miniscule. Overnight bags for six will block your view out the back and give you the liftgate open light 8 times out of 10. Ride quality lands right in the middle. Responsive for a large mid-sized SUV. The ride in an Explorer feels more luxurious as well as GMC sister.

Solid Vehicle
I just sold my 2017 Traverse LT with 103,000 miles. I had an AC issue at about 37,000 miles, was not covered by warranty. Other than that it was trouble free to 103k miles. No rattles and solid feel after almost 8 years. Cloth seats very durable, although some passengers don’t love the headrest positioning. Towed a 3500lb boat set up very well. Overall, very good value and decent fuel economy for such a large SUV. Excellent highway machine, extremely smooth ride.

Lots of minor problems
The 2017 traverse was great off the lot however In only a few years serious issues with exhaust popped up. Electrical issues with windows including corrosion in electrical connections ( all dry no water). Failure of back up camera and wiring. Running rough. Build quality is the issue with these sadly. AWD system was great no complaints as it performed beautifully in snow. Would not recommend owning past 150,000km

Be ware of transmission problems
At 95000 miles the transmission went out. We replaced it with a rebuilt one as the warranty was already expired. Other than that, the SUV was great for ride share car, got the 2020 model.
