Used 2003 Chevrolet Suburban Consumer Reviews
best suv
This is the best full size suv for your money. It is the best vehicle for long rides and can fit 8 people and all their bags and still have space to run around. Bose radio system is great.
Review 2003
The 2003 is lighter and handles a little better than the 2000. The 2003 does not get as good as milage as the 2000, in fact it is exactly 2.3 miles less per gallon than the 2000.Do not know why but I suspect it is the different transmission. Also GM has all kinds of little nickle and dime short cuts in the 2003, like no tail gate key entry, cheaper paint in the door jams, lots of little cheap cut backs that are surprising for a vehicle that has one of the most loyal customer followings.

Chevrolet Suburban
Having ownned this vehicle since the end of April and accumulating 4K miles, I find it to be quite comfortable and secure. Front and rear seats are quite comfortable and ride is very good for the size of the vehicle. I am hoping for fuel mileage to improve as my highway driving is around 16 mpg and city driving at 10 mpg. I might add that I am ever mindful traffic and road conditions with unplanned starts and stops kept to a mimimum. Overall, very pleased with this Suburban in the LT pkg. Hopefully I will continue to be satisfied with it.
Always wanted one
I always wanted one and now I know why. The smooth quiet ride and handling blow away, the Ford's and Dodge's. The style and dependability are outstanding. My 1996 3500 Chevy Crew Cab has 96,541 miles on it and the only thing I ever replaced was the fuel pump. I also just gave my 1989 Chevy S-10 4x4 Blazer to my father, it is running great with 241,000 miles on it. Chevrolet truck quality is head and shoulders above the market competition. I expect the same performance from my Suburban. Plenty of room and comfort for my family and friends.
Some things questionable
I have had the same problems as a lot of Z71 owners had, the instrument cluster is going dead, and the front suspension/shocks are brutal. I have always been a Chevy guy, especially going for the Suburban for size and comfort, but GM should know better than to compromise on this simple engineering.
