I LOVE MY TRUCK - This thing doesn't break!

Between 110,000 and 173,000, my most major repairs were replacing a light bulb and clean out a clogged mass airflow sensor. The rest was tires, brakes, shocks, fluids, and a wheel bearing. I've averaged $81/mo over 5.5 years in maintenance and tires. Way cheaper than anything I've ever owned and more than compensates for the gas mileage. It is very comfortable for me (6'4" 210lbs) and I can ride for hours. My only complaint is the rust. I was able to have the insides of the bottoms of the doors ground down, sealed, and repainted and that has held off that rust fairly well. BUT, the rockers, quarters and fenders are rotting very quickly. They probably got worse as I was typing. However, I love my truck so much that even at 173k, I may spring for new panels and paint.

I bought this vehicle to commute long distances. It has excellent ease of use cruise control coupled with the smart review view mirror and side mirrors. Visibility and ride characteristics are great in ALL weather conditions, night and day. I have really enjoyed the heated seats during winter weather conditions and love the autoride suspension that smooths the road out, even in rough road conditions. I feel very safe in this car and after my first 10K miles, have had nothing but good performance from this vehicle.

Love my Suburban

I have never in my life owned a better vehicle than my 2002 LT 4x4 Suburban. It is the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven. There is no way I'll ever own anything but a Suburban again, but then I expect to drive this one for quite a few years. I can't find anything about it I don't like. Perhaps the fuel mileage could be a bit better (13 in town, 18+ on the road) but then you're pulling around 5500#s too. My wife is 5' tall and loves driving it. Overall I seriously rate the vehicle a 10.

Truly enjoy driving this vehicle. Mileage has been surprisingly high for a truck this size (16-20mpg), and that includes 2000 miles a year towing a 2500lb boat. The quality has been a slight disappointment, it has been to the shop on 5 seperate occasions for minor warranty repairs over the first 2 years. Also, the interior is made up of a fair amount of cheap plastic. All and all, its a very good truck, and still the best true sport utility out there.
