2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Consumer Reviews

2024 Silverado Cam Sensor Position 594 miles!
Just bought a Silverado Custom with 2.7 Turbomax 4 cycl. With 594 miles on it, it starts shaking and shimmying at a light. Hit the gas and the engine is shaking like crazy. Take it back to dealer and 2 cylinders needed to be replaced! Heritage Chevrolet in Owings Mills, MD would not switch out the truck for a new one. I am beyond vexed because that truck will never be the same. I can care less about a warranty. How about do right by your customers and take back a defective product and fight it out with GM for sending you a bad truck! The customer always gets the short end of the stick.

Over All good
It's almost everything I wanted. But no moon roof or sliding back glass. Major flaw is the auto shut off when stopping. Have to shut that off every time I get in the truck. Also don't like the timer shut off when outside the truck. Not safe for people who are waiting inside the truck in hot/cold weather. No way to override it.

New diesel owner
This is my first diesel truck. I went with the 3.0 Duramax. I was concerned it would not have enough power as I pull a lot of construction trailers. I am so pleased with this truck. I might not accelerate as fast as the 6.2 gas motor, but nobody needs to accelerate like that in the first place. Especially 1 pollen trailers. This is a very smooth truck and I am averaging above 18 mpg with consistent runs with my dump trailer.
Truck for work or pleasure
I traded a 2020 Chevy Silverado LTZ crew cab, leather seats, black exterior color, short bed, 4x4 with Z71 options, 8 speed transmission, and 5.3 v8 for a 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ crew cab, leather seats, metallic silver color, short bed, 4x4 minus the Z71 options, 10 speed transmission, and 5.3 v8. The 2024 Chevy Silverado has options( automatic steps, multi purpose tailgate, heads up display, 22 inch tires w/chrome wheels, power sun roof, power rear center window, and sprayed bed liner) some of which were not part of the 2020 Chevy Silverado. The 2024 Chevy minus the Z71 option with 22 inch wheels and road style tires rides a bit smoother than my 2020 Chevy. I still maintain the 4x4 capability when needed especially with the Illinois winters and some mild off road traveling. The shift/gear selector is now located on the center console rather than the steering column which provides no inconvenience for either use or position placement. At my senior age of 81 and before I have always enjoyed my trucks and have had quite a few including Chevy, GMC, Ford, & Toyota trucks. The 2024 Silverado LTZ continues to be a pricey purchase as truck prices across the brand spectrum are all pricey purchases. I am pleased with my 2024 Silverado with regard to performance and design. This is my first metallic silver exterior color which looks great and reflects the sun heat better than my previous black exterior colored trucks. If price is not a limiting factor, I believe you would enjoy owning and driving a full size 1500, Silverado LTZ.

Midnights 1st run
Bought my 2024 Silverado LT CrewCab , With 2.7 Turbomax in April have about 2500 miles on it I did so much research it drove me crazy what sealed the deal Was 5yr 100k warranty so far no issues. Love the truck got 24.8 mpg on stretch of I95 from South Fl to I26 exit in South Carolina UPDATE: I’ve had my Truck 4months now I work out of state so drive several 1200 mile trips here and there v it’s a very comfortable ride if I watch my speed and cruise I have achieved as much as 24.9 mpg so far very happy it does everything very well for me sad to see the negative reviews so time will tell 7,800 mile on her right know

Beauty of an SUV interior and a workhorse truck
My new 2024 Chevy Silverado lTZ crew cab provides the best of all worlds. It can haul, tow and maneuver anywhere while providing an upscale full size SUV ride and interior experience. Additionally, the Google assistant does everything from changing all climate and navigation controls via voice commands only. The other controls are all easy to use including the memory driver seat which moves back while the steering moves up for easy exit from the drivers' seat. Other features include the most reliable 5.3l v8 engine with dynamic fuel management and 10 speed automatic transmission which combine to provide mid-20's fuel mileage with moderate mixed area driving. This gives you the true feeling of the V8 engine, a full-size 4WD truck and very good fuel mileage (very close or the same as the mid-size truck fuel economy). When you combine all of the features with the looks, price point of this Chevy LTZ and low yearly depreciation Vs the competition, the choice becomes clear. This one is the best overall today!
Updated dash and infotainment, lost other features
I lease a 2024 Silverado and previously leased a 2021. The updates to the dash and infotainment system on the 2022 and new models is very nice, although the infotainment definitely has its glitches and bugs. However, what really took away my positives of this is that they removed the middle fold down cupholder armrest, removed the under back seat storage, and removed the rear sliding window from the LT, all of which the 2021 model had. These were big negatives for me and there still isn’t standard side mirror safety alerts. I will never buy a GM truck sadly, they feel poorly built and that Chevy is just trying to be the cheapest option. Fine to lease I guess but this will be my last Silverado.

Love the truck! Hate the front seats.
Took the Silverado 1500 LT on vacation 1000 miles the front seats are terrible, hard , uncomfortable. Had to make many stops to rest our butts. Once we got to our destination Michigan I ordered seat cushions from Amazon for the ride home.

Good all around truck
I bought this truck for both personal and work use. It handles really good on both dirt and gravel roads. I used to have a jeep and it gets almost as good of gas mileage as the jeep. With the smaller engine I wasn’t sure how it would do towing but it proved me wrong as it did pretty good hauling a trailer for a 4 hour drive.

2024 Silverado RST w/ 5.3. The Good & The Bad
I will preface this review by comparison with the 2018 Silverado LTZ: THE BAD 1) The Google info-tainment system is a downgrade because unless you pay a monthly fee its crippled. In addition, the ability for the system to "Read" my USB flash drive and allow me to use voice to ask for a particular song is non-existent and strangely wont recognize the same drive i used in my 18 Silverado. Furthermore I can't even manually search/select a track from USB while driving. So only way is to only let each track play in either random or sequential order. Boo, cant tell 4gb USB drive what song to play :( 2) The wireless charging feature works intermittently and needs to be constantly fiddled with to re-connect 3) The fog lights are almost useless and do little compared to the ones on my 2018 Silverado, which really provided the proper amount of light to cut through fog 4) What the hell happened to the overhead counsel, sun glass holder. Gone! 5) Nag screen, that always begs me to buy monthly data plan. Boo! 6) Seems to be a harsher ride compared to the 2018 LTZ 7) Center counsel storage is neither convenient to access or spacious THE GOOD 1) A bit better gas millage due to lighter weight aluminum body parts and 10 speed trany 2) A bit better towing due to more aluminum body parts and 10 speed trany 3) 1st maintenance visit is free 4) Much better view of the road due to redesign 5) More spacious interior. Basically, the truck is certainly improved but not a great value in several areas so Im disappointed. Hopefully some of the "Bad" will be addressed before im ready for a new truck

Solid truck. Enjoyable to drive. Very strong.
The suspension, engine and drive train are very good. Power is excellent. The two things I dislike are 1) the auto stop/start and 2) the fact that the truck will not stop its alarming if your seatbelt is undone. Imagine driving around a site with your seatbelt undone listening to BEEP BEEP BEEP over and over and over again. It should at least delay 10 minutes between reminders. Outside of that the truck is pretty amazing.

What pick up truck should I buy???
Love the Chevy Brand. This is now my 6th pick up, had two Fords, two Rams, one GMC and this new Silverado 1500 Trail Boss LT that is by far the best 1/2 ton pick up on the road.

So many great features!
I recently got a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, 1500 RST and love all the features that comes with it. Chevrolet has done a great job of providing quality, convenient interior while still having an off-road capability of a truck.

My first Chevy
Love the body style. Nice ride. Almost all the features I was looking for. The only things were missing I wanted was a built-in garage opener, locking tailgate, & auto retractable side mirrors, the last one I think should be standard since full size pickups have a wide stance.

Excellent finish on paintjob, driving is pleasurable and reassuring for an off-road capable vehicle of this size. All the frills at a great price for a 4X4.

Too expensive for a base pickup truck 44k
4 cylinder engine 12 mpg city driving, Too many buttons and lights on the dashboard with little pictures on them. Should have a standard step for the passengers to get in and out.

Another Z71, love it!
Quick note if you don't want to read all the below: Z71 stops great. Accelerates wonderfully. Rides nicely. Handles great. AC venting to rear seating is good. Basic tech is nice along with a cool badge Z71. :-) Have owned (3) Z71's. 1994, 2009, now a 2024. Exactly 15yrs between each. Odd, right. Traded in my 2021 GMC 1500 SLT X31 for a 2024 1500 LTZ Z71. (both 5.3l) I am a GMC guy. My favorite was my 2013 GMC SLT All Terrain. That truck was great. Pulled a bunch of people through the ice roads on 287 in the Winter of 2014/15. But I degrees. Purchase was random. Had a great deal at AutoNation NRH and I picked it up. Have 1k on it right now. Drives like a car. Hard turning has 0 body roll. Breaking is not as long and the suspension is not as mushy as my 2021 GMC. Suspension is crisp and has a small bounce but is not hard at all. Still getting used to the console electronic shift, keep reaching for the column. :-) Interior is pretty nice. 13in screen is easy to read. Bose system is good. AC vents on the rear console are higher so the air circulates well in the rear. The multi pro tailgate is greatness. Functions like auto side mirror retraction on lock and open on unlock is great! So far first 1k is great. Will update more as able.

Silverado 1500 custom
The truck is great. Missing cup holders for the rear seat and could have used some overhead storage for sunglasses and the like but otherwise a very nice truck. Lot of power for 4 cylinder. Gas mileage is very good

Climate control is terrible
2024 Silverado LT 1500. When you remote start your truck it should turn the heat or ac on depending on the temperature outside. What’s the purpose of remote start if you can’t control the temperature in the truck properly? My 2022 ram and my wife’s 2019 F150 both will turn on defrost or ac depending on the outside temp. So if it’s cold the defrost comes on high and if it’s hot the ac turns on. Why won’t my Silverado do that? It’s my only complaint with the truck but it’s a big issue for me. Seems GM is lacking in this department as I have read many peoples posts in forums that complain about the same issue? Please fix this GM or I will definitely go back to my Ram or Ford?

Wow, best Silverado yet!
This is my FIFTH Silverado! Had a 1999, 2007, 2017, 2019, and now this 2024 LTZ 4WD. (also had a 2002 Suburban in between, and STILL have a 2005 Suburban as my junk hauling truck). This LTZ has the best looking front end of all the Silverado trim levels. It has more bells and whistles than I've even been able to figure out yet, rides like a Cadillac, quiet enough to where you can hold a normal conversation with people in the back seat, etc. And speaking of the back seat, the crew cab has so much room that the kids can almost play football back there. This truck does so much I could write paragraphs about it. The adaptive cruise works great with little to no quirkiness that I can tell. I also have the head-up display, which seems to have changed my life; it's so awesome! The heated and cooled seats are incredible. I had a Lexus ES350 with "ventilated" seats, and they were fine in the summer, but this LTZ's "ventilated" seats actually COOL (rather than just a fan/blower in the Lexus), and it cools the seat incredibly fast after a brief remote start, and then the seats will proceed to almost freeze my butt off on the lowest setting! Now THAT is cool! The 5.3 engine is powerful, the 10 speed tranny shifts so smoothly it's crazy. I haven't had a chance to test it out in the snow yet because I bought it in August and it's now only October... but old man winter is coming!

2024 Z71 with sliding rear window
The window shattered while it was parked in the driveway. Went out to grab the mail and heard a noise like someone dropped a glass bottle. I looked around and no one was outside, that's when I headed back up my driveway and noticed glass on the ground next to my truck. The driver side rear panel was shattered. Had this truck about a month with around 400 miles on it, still has paper tags! Dont know if this has anything to do with it, but we're down south and temps reached 90+ today for the first time.

Satisfied So far!
I have drove Tundra's for the past several years, great trucks! But I test drove a 2024 Silverado Z-71 LTZ and I was hooked! Three months in and I would recommend it! I have the 5.3 and I get around 20 mpg on average with plenty of power! Looks as good as any of the competition and has a smooth quiet ride! 10 out of 10!!

Sometimes it locks sometimes the speedo works
Great truck until the software update.....Shortly after the software was updated the passive door lock feature would only work 80% of the time and the speedo display would not keep mph displayed or even the description. the truck also came with a spider infestation from the factory it took 8months for them to all die out.
