most gut less vehicle i have ever owned
motor has NO power, downshifts on every incline no matter how minor,at 60 u r forcing it,and a " go- cart" like this thing should get much more than 25 to 27 mph,i have a 91 dodge spirit with a 4 banger in it that will eat this things lunch any day of the week n gets 32 to 35 mph. most gutless vehicle i have ever owned, definately regret buying it,will never repeat this mistake!
Black S-10 Crew Cab 4WD
Got the 3.73 gears, and the trucks performs great. Has great pickup from highway speeds, and is nice off the line. The 4x4 engages nicely and works well. Very comfortable inside.

2003 S-10 Base
I was given this truck. It belonged to a elderly gentleman that I was a caregiver for. It has 26,000 miles on it. It's the base model. The only extras on it are a/c and cd player. No cruise no tilt no pw pl. The dash is sun damaged badly because it sat a lot. Otherwise it's basically a new truck. I have all repair work records. It rides like a truck. It doesn't quite jar your teeth out but close. It has the 4.3 V6 that has enough power for it's size. It has manual windows which I like. Less crap to break 😆. It's not that great on gas. I get a solid 20 mpg. It's better than it's rating of 14mpg so I guess that's ok. To be a free truck I'm happy to have it. It will serve me well if the dash don't fall off 🤣

2003 ZR2
I love the looks of this truck. The colorados came out as a follow up for the ZR2. To me it just didn’t have the appeal of the ZR2. The interior design, the comfort and reliability. I bought a 2012 Silverado but ended up letting my son use it and I just continue to drive my ZR2. It has 193,000 miles on it and running strong. Takes just 2 cranks to start it. Has the original starter. I have replaced the alternator, and fuel pump. Needs a little cosmetic work which I am doing a little bit at a time. I love the ZR2’s

169k now. Evaporator leak turned out to be rusted ring around gas cap! Seal All did the job! Code gone!
Red firewood hauler
Wish more manual transmissions were available, but being an automatic transmission is the only variation from exactly what I was looking for. Small S10, but with extended cab to carry wedges and such for processing firewood. Of course 4wd is mandatory in the woods. Spare tire was missing but scissor jack was there. A piece of tail gate molding trim was also missing. The truck had plenty of documentation of past oil changes and such. Mileage was 130,000 miles which seemed moderate.

hated it
for me - strickly a younger persons truck - engine and transmission were loud - off road tires areloud and throws slush/mud/water up onto itself - making it impossible to keep clean especially in winter
S-10
Thought I was buying a decent quality, economical, dependable little truck. WRONG! 17mpg, gutless performance, windows don't seat properly when I try to close them (screeching wind noise), hyper-sensitive ABS brakes, seatbelts that lock in place and don't permit any movement, backache-generating seat, cheap/chintzy plastic all throughout the cab, tires that crumble, PLASTIC(!) intake manifold, clutch mastercylinder, fuel tank and shock absorbers. Vehicle appears to have been manufactured from recycled beer cans and plastic coat- hangers. Keep hoping it either burns to the ground or somebody steals this piece of rolling trash. Never again, GM!
Rated on a 1998 /and 1987 models

GREAT TRUCK FOR THE MONEY
My expierence
The LU3 seems stronger than my 98 LF6 4x4. This truck is absolutly perfectly designed and it demands respect.I purchaed it used knowing that it will be a while until GM makes a small truck that has that stop and stare effect. Brakes, drive train, power, and build quality is Q1. Frist owner drove it all highway 30K in 15 months. I found two problems after it was deliverd. Steering box upper seal weeps and muffler comming apart inside. Dealer fixed at no charge. Team Chevolet (GA) has very good and knowlegable service department.
S10 ZQ8
The S10 is, in my opinion, a great value in today's automotive market. Yes the design is old and the engine is not the most refined. GM will fix that in a few months with the release of the all new Colorado and Canyon. However, the S10 gets the job done quite well. With the ZQ8 package and a strong V6, I can tackle the curvy backroads as well as weekend chores. I do pay a price for the tight suspension. The ride is harsh. Right now is a great time to take advantage of the rebates and finance rates. My truck is loaded. I paid thousands under sticker and I have no intrest to pay. If that's not a great deal I don't know what is.
Works well. Good sound.
Good deal.
