Not bad
Rented an '25 Malibu LT over a few days putting on approximately 700 miles. Driving consisted of urban, rural and highway roads in dry, cool conditions. My take of the Malibu? It's a competent person hauler. My spouse and I found entry to be a drop down, turn your legs in affair that took a bit getting used to after coming from an SUV. Once inside the Malibu, I found it roomy. Putting the rear seats down provided plenty of room to store our gear. Controls and touch screen are simple to use. Auto start/stop defeat is easily seen and was used on occasion, however with stop/start left on, the operation was seamless. Despite the negativity I've read about the 1.5 turbo, I found the powerplant to decent. The engine provided good pickup from start and ran smooth on the open roads. Handling on the straights was good, however the Malibu plowed on the curves. Interior gave us comfortable seating, inferior sound system and a loud road environment. Climate control was excellent with the seat warmers coming on quickly. The Malibu's dash was a lot of hard plastic, with some black padded cloth covering thrown in. This cloth covering look cheap and out of place. Behind the wheel, I found a comfortable driving position that provided a simple, easy to read dashboard. My wife reported that the passenger seat was comfortable but lacked the power control of the driver's seat. Even tho a specific gas mileage check wasn't done, my experience says that Malibu gave us good gas use. To close, my question would be this; would I buy a '25 Chevy Malibu LT? Well after looking at the price of the '24 Malibu's being cleared out, I would say yes I would. After looking at the price of a '25 Chevy Malibu, I would say look somewhere else.

Very good car, great price
Even though car pundits "outclassed" by competition, those are very slim metrics. Items such as 1 mpg and 1 sec to 60 for Honda are essentially a push. However, this car was considerably cheaper by at least $3k. I'll take that cash every day of the week for being slightly "outclassed".
