Used 1999 Chevrolet Malibu Consumer Reviews
why me!!
brakes+ rotors that fail after 40000,turn signals that failed mysteriously but only worked at the dealership coolant that goes down continually but never leaks(head gasket gm?)alternator failed after 2 YEARS?!! (come on!!)rattles from who knows where or why and the ac(check the switch, its defective!!!)why such a vehicle is foisted on people who shell out hard earned money is beyond me...imports are looking better and better every day...a horse and buggy are more reliable
Good Car
No hassle - minor issues but a good car to have
1999 Malibu Review
The car from the outside is very nice with it's soft lines and curves. The muffler is tucked up under the body, unlike some cars of this class. The look is sporty for a functional sedan. The reliability suffers with some poor engineering and very high cost parts. Problems with my car have been repeated lock cylinder and intake gasket replacement, with overheating issues. For the cost of repairs, the car continues to be strong competition for cars in this price range, and functionality.
Eh...
This car was just ok. Purchased at 63,000 miles. Heater and air conditioner went out within first year of owning it. Tires went bald fast, needed to fill with oil every two weeks after it hit 70,000 miles. No "get up and go". Forget about good gas mileage. Needed new transmission as soon as I hit 101,000. Automatic windows work only when they want to. Back window motor went out. I put almost half as much in to this car as I paid for it. Don't count on this car lasting over 100,000 miles. Save your money. Buy a Honda or a Toyota.
1999 Malibu
Bought mine used 2 years ago. I am coming up on 100,000 miles and have had no serious problems yet. The brakes are going to need to be changed soon (now) and I have replaced one headlight bulb and a Serpentine belt that was on there when I bought it and snapped because It was too small in the first place. I like that it is so roomy but I think the design is quite ugly. I have a feeling that I will be running into a ton of problems in a few thousand more miles, despite the fact that I take excellent care of the car. *crosses fingers*
