Used 2015 Chevrolet Equinox Consumer Reviews
Just switched back to chevy
Have not owned a GM product for 20 years after being a die hard customer =switched to other brands due to poor quality. I purchased a used(15000mile) vehicle with AWD,Heated seats.rear with 2.4L engine. Car handles well and has a good ride but the fuel economy is well below stated range even with the eco. feature. GM ought to consider a super charged model for better mileage and acceleration.

Love it!
I have already reviewed my equinox in the past, so I figured I would update it many miles later. I bought it in November 2015 with 3000 miles as a dealer loaner, and now it has 108,000 miles on it. I only had one problem with it earlier with the oil gasket or something like that, but it was covered. That is the only problem that I have. I get an oil change every 5000 miles and rotate the tires every other oil change. The original tires last in the 93,000 miles. I have no complaints about my equinox... January 2020: 126,000 miles and still going. I had to change the battery which was 5 years old, but other than that, my equinox is still going strong! This weekend in particular, I had to drive and hour to my moms, and hour back. The next day, I drove an hour and a half to Boston for my daughter and then back home. The next morning, I had to drive back to Boston and then home. Later that day, I had to drive another hour back to my moms to pick my son. My equinox gets a lot of wear and keeps On going! July 2021:180,000 miles, and still going strong! My water pump went, but that was to be expected with all the mileage. I get my oil changes every 5000 and rotate the tires every other, and she just keeps going

Never buy an Equinox
We have owned 2 Equinox's, a 2012 brand new and a 2015 with low miles. Both Engines have failed at 100,000. The 2012 was a pvc part, that they were aware of according to warranty. Chevy did cover some of the repairs but not all. We sold that one immediately upon having it repaired. We then drove a Honda CRV before purchasing the 2015. Big mistake. The paint started peeling at 80K miles, and is not covered. The wheel bearings went bad at 95K and not covered by the power train, and now the engine locked up. I had no warning lights, no temp issues, no extra use of oil, no oil leaks and in fact my on star reported all green in the report. Come to find out when our mechanic called Chevy, Chevy reported that they were aware of the issue with engine and $500 worth of parts could have prevented the replacement of the engine($3900). We are just over 100,000 and Chevy won't warranty any of the repairs. The mechanic said there is nothing we could have done differently to prevent this from happening. Funny thing is, he now has a 2nd Equinox with the same issue. I finally got the car back and drove it for two days and now the transfer case went bad. If this isn't a lemon of a car I don't know what is. We have tried to work through our dealer and with no recourse. We have done regular service on both vehicles and taken very good care of them. I will not own another Chevy and will be sure to share my story with many.

2015 Equinox 2LT 4cyl
Hello, We opted for the 4 cyl for our new 2015 Equinox. I find the 4cy plenty powerful and good on acceleration. I think for the reviewer to say you'll have to have the gas pedal floored is outrageous. If you're really doing that, than this isn't the car for you to begin with. I just personally feel, that for author to keep beating up on the 4cy is unwarranted. People buy this car to use and for mpg, not for a sports car.

Great for Family and travel
I was looking for a safe vehicle that was easy to get in and out of and have a lots of room for my family. The chevy equinox is the best choice. It is a complete package. Large and quite inside with more leg room then my Lincoln town car just not as wide. Has air bags both front and sides. And the doors have acoustic glass to keep it quiet and protect you in case of roll over. Equinox comes with active noise cancelation technology to combat the noise of its engine. The system Vallance and his team up with consists of an ANC module that kicks in when the engine is running in the 1,000 to 1,500 rpm range. Two microphones in the vehicle interior measure the amplitude and the phase of the engine noise sound waves and relay this information to the ANC module. To ensure it targets only the unwanted engine noise and not other noise inside the cabin, such as the stereo or passenger conversations, the module also takes into account the engine speed to calculate the target frequency that needs to be cancelled. Seats are very comfortable for my 14 hour trips I take once a month and commuting back and forth to work every day. The four cylinder is smooth, quiet and refined and works well with the 6 speed and seems to have a gear for every need. Does not work hard going over the mountains and still gets 28.4 miles to the gallon every day driving at 65 mph. Has four power ports one USB and one 3.5mm jack. This is an easy vehicle to live with and I would buy another one.
