Traded in my 2010 that had 67,000 trouble free miles for a loaded LTZ. I have the 2.4 and after 10k the fuel economy has improved from 23ish to about 28mpg highway. I drive 30,000 plus highway miles per year and find the Equinox to be one of the most solid highway performers in the compact suv market. I find it well built and stylish.

Where do I begin...... 2011 Equinox brought brand new. I'm a commuter so I must keep up maintenance, get oil changes regularly (not from the dealer). Transmission goes out at 60,000 which took a month to repair. now 70,000 major oil leak which of course cause engine issues. Have bumper to bumper warranty BUT GMC doesn't want to pay, claims issue occurred to not changing oil. Had to produce receipts of proof that I've had oil changes. Once all is said and done trading it in and never going back to Chevrolet.

I'm in Michigan, drive 38 miles each way to work, 28 hwy. I had a Subaru Outback AWD and would get 24 in winter and 27 in summer. rural roads the other 10 miles. I bought this car with FWD to get better mileage, in Oct, 2010. The mpg is ridiculous! I was getting 24.4-.7 in fall, now that I've lowered speed "Under" 70 mph I can get 25, oh boy! I am fighting with GM to return it. This mpg is false advertising. daughters' Honda CRV w/AWD gets 27 hwy! It's not right to falsify the testing. They told me (GM employees) that the "Fed's" ok'd the testing in "controlled"environment and 48 is " ave. hwy speed". Heater is also poor in under 20 deg. and Horrible blind spot passenger side!

If you are considering a 2011 Chevy Equinox, ABORT MISSION. This is a terrible car!!! I used to own a 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Addition that had 2 transmissions go out on me... I'd rather take that back and give them this piece back!!! I paid TOO MUCH MONEY for this car. I've had it for 1 year and 1 month now, and this was the worst decision of my LIFE! I called 3 times in one day in order to hear back about my warranty... it took them 4 hours to return my phone call! FOUR HOURS!!! I am a mother. This was supposed to be my safe and reliable vehicle. Joke is on me I guess!

like most everyone here iam going to talk about the piss poor mpg . like some i have talked with gm @ 1-800-790-5700 for the past mounth 1/2 . just to find out that my nox is in the avg. est. fuel rateing at normaly 23.5 on the hiway which i disagree because thats just above city avg. on hwy. driving . my opinion gm has a problem with that 4cly. or maybe they should'nt put that 4 cly. in the equinox. anyway they wont admitt they are wrong. the new redesigned gm that runs deep SUCKS. the old gm whould at least listen and try to help you. out with the old in with the new.
