My equinox
I see many complaints of the equinox. I have owned mine for 7 yrs now bought it with 35000 mls now has 156000. I haven't had to do any major maintenance on it til now having to replace the head gasket. I put almost 700 mls a week on it and have had nothing but being happy with its performance and reliability. My wife also feels the same. So whether it be ppl not performing their own at home maintenance of a vehicle, changing its oil and just learning their vehicle with its sound and handling and knowing when something is wrong is their fault. I love my Equinox and would not hesitate to buy another

Starting problems
I recently bought a 2005 Equinox. I looked for over a month and thought I got a good deal. I've had it for a week and I'm having starter problems. It turns over but takes a long time to start. This only happens about half the time. As I'm reading reviews I'm seeing this is a common problem. I would like to get it fixed while under warranty so I'm curious to know what exactly the problem is. Seeing all of these bad reviews and potential problems I am now wondering if I was wrong in buying an Equinox. Any ideas on the starting problem?

Brake Issues
I purchased my 2005 chevy equinox and havent had any troubles other than the ABS light and TC light coming on and staying on. My brakes now pump against me when i am trying to stop and also I have to give it gas to help it start up. The ABS sensor has to be replaced.
Going Strong at 197,000 Miles
I have used nothing but Mobil 1 Full Synthetic since the first oil change. The original spark plugs lasted 150,000 miles. This has been a maintenance only (oil, filters, brakes, tires, muffler) vehicle for the past twelve years. There is still no change in oil consumption since new and it still gets 25+ MPG.

Buyer beware...
I fell in love with how pretty this car was immediately. It came with all the bells and whistles, and after years of driving a straight forward Focus, I had to have it. Even after reading the reviews on this site about how sketchy the Equinox could be, I thought "that won't be me." Ohhhh but it is. Two weeks after I bought it the check engine light was one, never to leave. The airbag light quickly followed. Followed by two brake jobs, the starter issue mentioned so many times by other users, and who knows what is next. Cannot wait to trade it in after paid off. Such a shame because it still is so pretty...
Not worth the money
I've spent way too much fixing this car. It was an amazing car when I bought it. I've had to replace the thermostat 6 times in 4 years, water pump 2x, brakes 5x, and changing the headlights is absolutely ridiculous. I spent 1600 hoping to get all running great and a year later the cooling system goes out and they didn't make the same kind of part I needed for it so I had to pay 300$ versus the $70, now I'm waiting to get a motor for it as I have a blown head gasket. I unfortunately still owe money on it and am figuring out how to get of it asap. Only good thing is that it was roomy.

Please read! Do not buy
Chevy needs to pull all 2005 Equinoxes and fix them! The problem is the throttle actuator control module. When it goes out you vehicle won't go. All you can do is coast to a stop. My wife and daughter were almost killed because of this. If you own a 2005 Chevy equinox and this has gone wrong PLEASE call Chevy and file a complaint. If it hasn't gone out yet be careful! I researched this and there is over 500 people who have had it go out. I called Chevy and they said if they have enough complaints filed they will review and recall it. I told them about the other 500 people I read about and they said it was here say. So PLEASE PLEASE call and complain before someone dies.
So far so Good !!
The equinox I have has 86,000 miles, so far so good, no problems with it, just regular maintenance, oil change every 3000 miles. Mine has been well kept, garaged, hasn't been used off road, or bad weather much. Very comfortable small SUV.

Reliable car
Bought this Equinox new in 2005. Have owned it for almost 10 years. We have pretty low mileage on the car; just over 60,000 miles, but we have had minimal problems with this vehicle. Had a head gasket early on, but other than that it has been just maintenance. Change the tires, change the oil every 3,000. One tune up. I am not a fan of the drive train set up. The wheel base is set back so the car does not turn tightly at all. Don't care for the set up of the console between the front seats. Everything falls down along the seats and you can't get you hand down there easily. Not a good design. Don't like the cup holders. Cheap. Otherwise, good reliable car.
Nothing but strange problems
Where do I even begin....lol! I bought this car from my grandpa in 2014 with 64k miles on it. He bought it new and took great care of it. When I got it, I was warned about an odd "starting issue" that seldomly happened at the time. I was assured that he would pay to fix it if it started happening more or quit starting since he wasn't able to figure it out before it became my vehicle. It happens all the time now but won't completely break down so we can get to the bottom of it and acts shy and won't experience the problem when I take it to the shop to diagnose. I think the car is seriously possessed by an evil entity lol. Since it only acts up when I'm in an inconvenient setting like a dark parking lot or trying to get to work, I recorded it with my phone while it was acting up so I could show it to my Chevy mechanic. I've attempted to have this diagnosed several times and was told it might be electrical since we've tried everything else like putting in a new starter etc.... fuel pump is fine, so it's not that either. It's gotten worse... Sounds like the car is trying to start when I turn my key but just can't quite turn the engine over. It never happens when my car has been sitting all night, it only happens after I've driven already that day. Also, the headlights are garbage and changing them is a real biotch and expensive too bc of the labor involved; the whole front part needs to come off bc both headlight casings are connected internally and can't be individually removed. After a while, the plastic casings look extremely yellow and dingy.... Foggy looking. The seals on them wear away as well and water got inside my casings and blew out my bulbs. Since I can't drive at night with no headlights, I had to pay $120 for the mechanic to remove the front of the car so he could get in there to replace the bulbs. I couldn't afford new casings, which were quoted at $300 a piece, so I just had the water dried out so my bulbs wouldn't blow....Well at least until the water seeps in again. They can't be resealed, they have to be replaced. Luckily I live in California and it doesn't rain a lot! Oh... The cheap plastic bumpers... How they hurt my eyes from the ugly gray color being so hideously weather warped. They dent super easily as well. Someone hit it a little bit on the back right corner while in a grocery store parking lot and it got severely crunched in. Of course, they cant be pushed back out and reshaped (that would be too easy) so the whole freaking bumper needs replacing if you want that dent to go away. And wouldn't ya know it, they don't make the bumpers anymore nor do after market ones fit properly without looking ghetto so have fun scouting junk yards for one that still looks decent. It's really weird that the window controls are in the center where the shifter is instead of on each door.... I hate that and so does every passenger that enters my car. As the driver, I should have main window controls for each door window and lock option that passengers can't reach for. I hate when I'm cold and my passenger rolls their window down bc I can't lock all the windows from my door. Annoying blind spots on this car... Took some getting used to. Super thin door pockets, can barely fit a little stack of napkins in there. Don't ever buy stock version of this car, the cloth seats feel hard and uncomfortable and the lever underneath is sooooooo annoying.... I miss power seats!!! On the same note regarding this vehicle being cheaply&ridiculously made, the interior ends up looking like a rolling hooptie as it begins falling apart after normal usage. I never force or abuse my vehicle so it's definitely not a case of this being my own fault bc I don't take care of it (as some other people's comments on this page seem to suggest); my sunvisor's lid that covers the little vanity mirror randomly fell off one day. How about that! Lol! A few months ago, my car started making an electric gurgling sound that graduated into a loud flapping or metal clanking sound that pep boys said sounded serious but internal in the engine so they couldn't help. It was embrassing driving down the street bc it was so loud and obnoxious. By the time my Chevy appointment came around to diagnose and fix it, the sound had stopped and hasn't been back since. I need this car to go away :( I've honestly had more issues with this car since March 2014 then I ever had with my 2001 Ford F-150 that I had for 7 years.... And my ford had 200k miles on it!!! Bye Felicia!

disappointed
purchased used, after trading in what we thought was our excellent condition money pit trailblazer. not so sure we did the right thing here. sure I paid lots on some repairs to the trailblazer over the last 3 yrs but I know what was done and it was an amazing vehicle. wouldn't hesitate driving it out of state. this equinox on the other hand, I'm not so sure I'm willing to drive it across town! went to family dinner, came home and the entire car was shaking and sounded like my tires were about to fall off. I've had it to the dealer more times than I've had it in my driveway. purchased less than a month ago and its been there more than its been home with us. I'm really upset and fear for our family's future on this - dealers screwing families daily has got to stop! if selling a car to make a buck is more important to you than the safety of another human being, then you're a worthless individual.

Love this cqr!
After reading all the poor reviews for this vehicle and then owning it.... I don't have any of the fuel transmission or head gasket problems other people claim. I've had this car for 6 months and put 4000 miles on it. Check engine light comes on with incorrect gas cap twist... however turned itself off now. I have no other complaithisthus far and I just love this car!

Chevy kids...not even once!
I made all of the bad mistakes of buying a SUV because the car I had been driving dropped a piston and the engine was destroyed. So with meager savings and the whopping $45 I was paid by the wrecker to tow my totaled car away for me I had to begin a desperate search for something with wheels that would be reliable to haul supplies and furniture. I hadn't been looking for anything before and I really didn't get to test drive that many small SUVs at all. I started looking for a small SUV because I couldn't fit 90% of what I needed into a car and figured I would purchase an Equinox and drive it forever. I was so wrong. Don't ever purchase the first year model of anything and wait until year three to see if the bugs are all ironed out. Had my father not purchased the extended warranty on it I would have been told to make payments on an SUV with a bad engine. The so-called "engineers" who designed this money pit on wheels had no idea what they were doing and the head gasket was defective. The engine was starting to overheat during a five minute drive to class so I pulled over and it took a full 20 minutes for it to cool off! I popped the hood and looked for any sure sign of an issue to see oil on the engine block! The dealership lied about the transmission and you have to put it on a lift, use three different sized sockets to pull an engine brace off just to get to the stupid flimsy plastic transmission dipstick! You also have to PULL the transmission in order to change the filter. Chevy is making their money pits impossible for DIYers to work on. The interior, even with weekly cleaning has not lasted. I've had issues where I found out that the wiring harness wasn't installed properly - where it was assembled in CANADA! That alone was over $2,435 in repairs to fix what I bought brand new and should have been set up right the first time due to rodent damage. The engine issue was a $100 deductible where the extended warranty rep called me to tell me to NOT pay a penny over $100 because the dealership was trying to rip me off. $3,500 + in ENGINE WORK! I've had issues with two out of the three trifecta red flags and quite frankly GM/Chevy will not be getting one more penny of mine. I'm currently looking for a FOREIGN SUV/small truck to drive now because the absurd cost in repairs and maintenance has turned me away from American made autos for good. I have spent far too much on an SUV that is now going to cost over $800 in work on brakes alone. If it's not one thing malfunctioning that has to be replaced it just keeps having parts that wear out and don't last at all. Don't get me started on all of the weekends where my father and I had to sweat and bleed in order to keep it road worthy. Acceleration is meager at best now even with diligent care on the V6. I haven't skimped on maintenance and since I require a reliable set of wheels to drive I'm gladly evaluating a used foreign vehicle because I'm not bailing out American automakers ever again. Since purchasing this SUV brand new I have grown disgusted with what passes for an SUV or any vehicle because I know I'm not getting my money's worth out of it. There's no excuse for such horrific design, poor materials use, incompetent manufacturing, dishonest dealerships, overpriced products, and absurd marketing lies. As long as automakers have been around you'd think they would have mastered a basic and long lasting set of wheels on anything but instead they just cut corners on quality and rip people off. I can't support American made because it's not made in America, is far too overpriced, isn't reliable, and I'm not a fan of companies run so poorly that they're bailed out against my will where I get robbed TWICE. If the company fails then it gets shut down period. You don't bail out incompetence but clear the way for an automaker that can actually build something that isn't designed to fail.

need help, ac problems
The ac on my 2005 equinox not working right. You turn the ac on and it doesn't get cold. I had it checked and was told it needed a new ac compressor, so I had a new one put on. Still didn't fix it. We discovered the fans weren't turning on to push the cold air out. I bought a pressure switch, put that on, they come on now but still not pushing cold out. It's like they are not turning fast enough. No one knows what to do with it. I'm tired of spending money & it not getting fixed. Anyone have any ideas?

Also A New Catalytic Converter, Rear Shocks, Front Brake Pads And Wheel Bearings, Air Filterx2, Cabin Air Filter, Driver Headlight, Passenger Head Light Wires Burned Out {Current}. A/C Condenser, Radio &Though It Seems Like Alot They Have Been Really Cheap Fix's, Since Its Paid For I Think Its Worth It! Also My Passenger Seat Doesn't Recline Any One Know What To Do?
Good car
I bought my Equinox used in 2007, my current mileage is 110,000. I've had no problems . Only performed routine maintenance . A great vehicle and fun to drive. Handles great in the northern Michigan winters .
Okay SUV
I bought this used in 2008 with 28,000 miles and just traded it in with 52,300 miles. I liked it and thought it was fun to drive.
Had to replace the transmission.
Just bought this used vehicle a few weeks ago and has already been in the shop. I knew based on price and miles that it would not be perfect, but I was not expecting to have to immediately replace the transmission. Ugh. I don't care about seat staining but I guess if I bought it new I would. I had bought a brand new Kia Soul in 2012 that had that problem and it did annoy me so I can relate to other reviewers. Don't care about stereo but I guess I should be glad someone put in a fancy aftermarket Pioneer. Almost brought it back to the mechanic after picking it up two days ago because it was chug chug chugging loudly when idling but then after I put in Premium gas, it stopped doing that and idled fine. I never knew that would be an issue so now not only do I have a car with bad gas mileage, I apparently have to use the most expensive gas which is a bummer. I have not had any issues with the interior or comfort but I've only been driving it for about a week total. So far the AC is awesome and I live in Florida, so, yay! My mechanic did point out rust underneath near tire, and he said the car was probably from up north, and he was right because I found receipts from the old owner and she lived in New York. Tiny crack and tiny dent on bumpers but I'm not that concerned with those minor body flaws. My mechanic told me the previous owner put in new struts and an oil change has just been done. He changed out the spark plugs which had never been replaced. At this point, as long as I don't have to fix another MAJOR part I will be OK with this purchase. P.S. to those talking about this as being "American" well it is and it isn't. My transmission apparently is Japanese. Also my father used to work for a company here in Fla. that made parts for American cars and he was laid off years ago because they decided to move the factory to China. Had to trade this car in within a year of purchasing it due to multiple problems.

Luv my Chevy Equinox!!
I ordered it new in 2005 with all the available options and only have replaced tires - I have 67000 miles on it now, and no problems. I am seriously thinking of getting a new 2010 model, but believe my gas mileage is better than the rating mpg on the new 2010. I would highly recommend this vehicle. Proud to drive it~! Sharp looking and easy to drive...dependable too!!
NIGHTMARE!!
Bought my 2005 Equinox used, 99k on it had a thirty day warranty, got it on June 4, broke down on July 4. Head Gasket. Cost me $2100.00 Electrical issues...This vehicle is a nightmare. I have always been a chevy girl, but I think next go round I'm buying a FORD.
Expect the expected
You will have these issues, expect them - fuel pump, head gasket, center driveshaft bearing, misfire. Our '05 Escape 4 cyl has been a Much better vehicle.

Don't buy this car!!!
Theyou decided know a different kind of transmission with no dipstick so you cannot add or check the levels, so you have to take it to a tranny shop or dealership which runs you $250 just to change it...but...then the transmission fails anyhow... $3000 to put a new one in...by this time the car is not even worth that much!!! Biggest regret was buying the stupid thing!!

my equinox
i really happy with my equinox is 2005 and I bougth it in FL with 30.000 m , the only problem i m having is the i need to hit the gas pedal to start the engine , i have 129.000 miles now . its good suv .
Wiring harness issues
I recently have been having issues with the windows not working. Or working intermittently. Also have a buzzing in the radio. I did a google search and discovered a few comments pertaining to the wiring harness between the door and the body. The harness in this area is prone to breaking. I figured what the heck. I removed the rubber boot and to my surprise I found 5 wires broken. I wish now that I hadn't spent the money on a new window motor. I'm now trying to find a way to get in there and repair the wires. I'm a bit afraid to look at the other 3 doors. If this has been a longtime issues with design, it should've been fixed while it was still under warranty. We bought it brand new.
If You Like Spending Money This Is The SUV For You!!!!
I Purchased My 05 Equinox In May of 2012 With 90k "Father's Day Gift" To Self, Some Gift!!! Since I've Had It Nothing But Trouble, A Week After Purchase I Had Engine Misfire (Tune Up) Which Had Just Been Done At Purchase, Got It Repaired, The Dealer Said The Spark Plugs Had Melted HOW???? Since I've Had To Replace Water Pump, Belt And Pully, Thermostat, Air Bag Sensor, CD Player, Both Front Entire Strut Sets, Muffler And Now At 105k The HEAD GASKETS, Not Just The Gaskets Tho, Both Entire Heads As Well Along With New Plugs And Wires And All New Filters... This Thing Is A Money Pit And It's Driving Me Right Into The Poor House... It's A Beautiful Car For Sure BUT STAY AWAY I Call Her EVE!!!
Love My Equinox
The Equinox in my opinion is one of the best values Chevrolet has in its line of vehicles. For the money, You can't beat a 2005 Equinox.
05 equinox
I'vr read all these problems that people have been having, i haven't seen anything, yet. The interior looks great no peeling paint. i suggest getting leather for the seats to avoid stains :)
My wife's decision without me
We just spent over $1400 on engine repairs when all the oil changes were done regularly and we used full synthetic oil which I swear by. I have never had a vehicle need such repairs and I've owned over 9 vehicles that were not cared for quite as well as this one. My truck has more miles and is older and never needed such work. This is a poor vehicle. Handle like a lawnmower.
best money I have spent on a car yet
I see some people had bad experiences here, you can't make everyone happy. This is an amazing car for the price and mine has over 129K miles on it! I have had autos from domestic and foriegn makes and our Equinox is incredible. The GREATS: ON STAR!!! Handling, int. space, handling in snow, exterior looks, exhaust sounds sporty. The GOODS: fuel MPG, pick up, rear seat comfort, easy to work on. Nice sound features The BAD: Front leather seats not comfortable on trips, road noise, int. plastic losing coating. OVERALL: the car is $25K with leather and all wheel drive!!! What do you expect?? We have had no problems, and this one we love!! ps.Our Honda needed a new motor and Nissan 2 tranny's so...
Poor Gas performer
The whole deal of me getting this thing was fuel mileage and the dealership knew it. I traded a loaded 2004 Z-71 pick up 1/2 ton. I said I need more then 18mpg and they showed me this and I had really read a lot on this Equinox and everything is as said but no one had said anything about fuel mileage I went by what the dealer told me and the fuel sticker since I bought mine in july Chevy has since changed the sticker from 19 city to 17 city and from 25 hwy to 23 hwy. I get 17 and when I tow a little four wheeler on a 255 pound trailer I get 12 mpg. Had I known this in advance I would still be in a Z-71. The dealership doesn't try to do anything and I called Chevy and they give me the run around.
I want to get rid of this!
Bought used March 2011 w/ 53 k miles. It is now June 2011, I have 60 k miles on the car and I want to get rid of this. Thought I was getting my dream car. The day i brought it home I noticed there was a foot of water in the spare tire well. Two days later the CD player went. The next day I noticed rear break light seal and windshield seal were broke. The back cup holder and it fell apart in my hand. I replaced a front left wheel bearing one month later at 59 k. Since then I have had too many problems to list. Key comes out of ignition while running, shifter doesn't lock in place, part of top rck fell off while driving, clunks when turning, has trouble starting, lighter sockets broke, ect.
Equinox Shock
Hard to get used to driving the Equinox. Large blind spot on driver's side, and gauging rear distances is hard. Lots of mechanical problems in the short period of time I've owned it.
2005 Equinox Poorly Made
I purchased the 05 equinox with 40,000 miles on it. It has had problems since right after i purchased it. I have had to replace the carrier barrier, heater core, AC unit, many thermostats, battery, cracked head gasket and i am sure much more. When i go to start the car half of the time it doesnt want to start and i have to keep turning it over and hit the gas for it to start, asked Chevrolet about it and was told that is just how they are nothing can be fixed. However i have read on here that it has something to do with a faulty wiring harness. The CD player will lock up and you have to take out the fuse so that it will reset its self. I would not recommend this car to anyone.
Unfortunate vehicle by General Motors
Purchased a 05 Equinox in May 2006 with just under 26k miles on it. I assumed I was just in the right place at the right time and signed on the dotted line. The problems began immediately, but the real problem has been the engine. In 2008 with less than 60k miles on it the head gasket blew. GM refused to do anything, I paid 2,500 for the repair. Yesterday included, the heads have blown 4 times since purchasing. I complain to GM every.time and while they are aware of the known issue they continue to do nothing to rectify the situation. A quick internet search and you will find how common the head gasket problem is on these vehicles. I do not recommend anyone purchasing this vehicle.
Nothing but problems
This car has been a headache all around. I bought used in 2013. It has broken down on me in the road a total of 6 times. Had to replace blown head gasket at 112000 miles, and then the motor at only 151000. Had to replace ignition, air conditioner and numerous fuses. The plastic covers that are on the passenger and driver visors broke off within the first couple months of me having the car. The seats stain so easily, even getting water on them causes discoloration. Not to mention the strange location that the window controls are in. I would not recommend this car.

Do not buy!
I am so disappointed with this car. This was my first "brand new" car and it's just awful. The road noise is horrible, check engine light came on a week after owning. The seats are horrible. I have the basic LS gray and they hold every spec of dirt possible. So I now have to use seat covers. The radio guages have lost all of their paint. So I can no longer see what channel I am turning to 1-5 etc. The doors are cloth and also get dirty very easily. The paint is scratching off the inside of the car near the door handles and such. My muffler is already completely rusted and the bumpers and molding are black and very faded. I have only owned for 10 months and would strongly advise against this! I will never buy a car from Chevy again. Even though this is the LS edition so its not top of the line, for the price I paid I deserved better lasting material.
can't wait to trade in
At first it was a nice car until the problems started. I had the brakes redone at 14000 miles. The a/c doesn't work on the drivers side. I already have rust starting on the back end. Warranty takes care of these. But I have to put my second windshield in because it cracks in the same spot starting below the rubber near the passenger door. Niether of them are from cracks The most annoying part is that I can't clean snow off of the windshield because of the design. The snow gets stuck and builds up because the "wings" that stick further out than the windshield. I am currently looking for a new car.
My New SUV
I just purchased this vehicle, so I am still getting used to it. So far, I love it. A lot of interior room. Comfortable to drive and ride in. I like sitting up high above most other vehicles in this class and I love that it has a great crash rating. Dual front and side curtain airbags, a must in this day and age.
Warning Light Problems
Different warning lights are coming on. Had to put the newly designed EGR valve on at 5,000 miles. Warning light for the steering keeps coming on. Right front strut bearing was replaced at 300 miles.Speakers in the two front doors vibrate. The dash board had a bad rattling noise. They put foam in to stop the noise. The air duct on the right side front under dash rattled, again fixed with foam.
Love my Equinox!
This is my first new vehicle purchase that was not a car. At first the around town gas mileage was suprisingly low compared to my '01 Olds considering they have the same size motor, but after some highway trips I found the mileage comparative. It is stylish and comfortable, easy access for all. I love this vehicle and would highly recomend!
Love my Equinox But......
I have had my 2005 Equinox since 2008. I love driving it but I do have one complaint..the electrical system is poor..I have had all kinds of trouble with lights..dash board lights do not work and the driving lights will not come on automatically when turned to auto..I am putting over $2000.00 into it to have the air bag light fixed and I still won't have dash lights as it would cost another $500. and I will still have to turn lights on manually...I think you really need to work on this problenm and give some type of refund for these repairs..
Avoid like the plague
Smooth ride with a very good engine. Fuel 'economy' is 14mpg which for a small SUV (try getting a stroller in the back and you'll see what I mean) is poor. Four visits for warranty repair and I have yet to get a courtesy car. Beware, the build quality on this car is shocking. The passenger windows fall down on their own. One passenger window will only close if it is slammed and then the casing falls off inside. The glove box cover doesn't fit and is prone to opening all on it's own. Seriously, look elsewhere if you can..
Buyer Beware!!!!!
I bought my Equinox New in Feb. 2005. Loved it at first. Then it started to fall apart. Visors fall off repeatedly, buttons on Stereo faded, key stuck in ignition, wore to the point I can take it out while driving. Turns over repeatedly with no start, Dealer said the electric fuel pump might be going out, to turn key on and off and wait to start it, mind you I had only 30k miles on it. The electrical malfunctioned, on-star could not even open the doors, key wont work in drivers door. Had to tow to dealer to get into my car, Fan switch went out, heater is all or nothing, air conditioner is going out, shifts hard, and now with 100k the head gasket blew.
I should have bought a bus pass
What a piece of garbage this dud has been! Who designed the interior? The cup holder cannot be used with the E-brake in the way, the sun visor blocks the entire window when down. And the 41.7 foot turning radius? Good luck making a U-turn! Listed at 19-25mpg. We drive 90% freeway and get barely 20mpg even after installing K&N filter.
Do Not Buy!
I purchased my 05 brand new and could have never imagined such problems with a new car. The details are too long to list but there have been issues from the beginning ranging from engine trouble to the interior simply falling apart. Unfortunately I am stuck with this vehicle right now but unless the President of Chevy personally calls me to apologize and offers me a free vehicle I will never drive Chevy again. Please take my advice and do the same.
05 Equinox
So...I bought my 2005 equinox in 2011, and since then I have had to replace...fuel pump, shocks, struts, radio, antenna, starter, and now the computer!!! This is outside of tires, brakes, rooters, and calipers...Also the 15 mpg city sucks, especially when newer Suburbans get 20 city. I will never buy another one ever again.
Losing power and getting wet...
I purchased this vehicle used with 72,300 miles. I fell in love with the exterior. Upon first entering the vehicle I noted the paint on the radio buttons were worn. I was okay with this slight imperfection. I bougt the vehicle. After a couple weeks I had to repalce the struts. The vehicle ran okay. Then it was spring. The vehicle did not start or go easily on hills, the vehicle lost acceloration in the rain ( this is not a proven hypothesis but likely with my evidence) and has been in the shop since May 2011. I drove it 1700 miles. I wish I had better things to say however I have not had it for nearly six months as it has been in the shop.
Can I Get It Paid Off Any Faster?!
Owned chevys all my life... What a disappointment! The back doors get dirty, snow, mud, compacted.. The brakes wear very unevenly, and now there's a creaking with every turn... And fuel economy.. What's that? I fill up about every other day, it's disgusting! There's no such thing as a quiet drive, this thing picks up every bit of noise! Bad, bad, bad idea... Never again.
Biggest Mistake I EVER made!!!!
This car has been the biggest mistake I have ever made - have replaced brakes and rotors 4 times, control arms twice, fabric stains very easily and will NOT come clean, temp gauge has been replaced twice, have had to have tire bolts replaced every time I get tires rotated because the threads have been stripped, headlights and seals are bad ALL the time, and now my drive shaft is toast due to bad U joints. Car only has 85,000 miles on it. I should have known to not buy a Chevy when they were going under, but have learned to never buy one again. Shoddy parts, shoddy workmanship - and they wonder why they are going under??
