2003 Corvette Convertible

Car is surprisingly comfortable to drive having come a long way from the Corvettes of the 70s and 80s. Fit and finish on my car, purchased used, is superb. Panel spacing is uniform from fender to hood to door. Doors close with solid definition. Manual top folds easily and is easy to operate without assistance. So far, rattle free. The leather seats fit me very well: the seat is just the right length and width. The seatback supports the entire length of my back with no hard spots. Power adjustments include lumbar support and this 50th Anniversary Edition has the memory option, so once you set the seat, wheel and radio preferences, they all return once you start the car.

Fabulous sports car. Seldom a day goes by without someone stopping me to comment on it. However there are days I would like to just get in my car and run to the convenience store without make-up or my hair done. This car draws so much attention that you can't do that.. This is not my weekend car. I drive it to work daily. People I have never met before say "How's the vet"? It's so fast, roomy and the heads up display is nice. The warning lights for tire pressure, fuel and low washer fluid are a definite plus. We test drove nearly every sports car on the market, including Mercedes. My husband is very "healthy". The 2003 Vet is the only car that my husband could sit in comfortably.

I am extremely fortunate in that my first Corvette was a new Z06. The car has met and exceeded ALL my expectations in overall performance and driving enjoyment, but you must be prepared to drive, and pay attention to your driving at all times. This is not a vehicle to drive while talking on the cell phone, putting makeup on, or, heaven forbid, reading while cruising in the right lane. Buy this car if you love to drive.

Found my baby with only 3400 miles and in Torch Red $38,000 U.S. greenbacks later and out the door I went. This car is just flat out the quickest, fastest, most beautiful car I have ever owned. As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is just fine by me and the Corvette critics are always going to be around and that's OK too. Bang for buck there are no cars that even come close to delivering the goods the way a Z06 can. Just a big ear to ear smile every time. Sure there is some road noise, interior could be a little more plush or fancy, but this car is so damn rewarding to drive that any small dislikes are dismissed with any seat time. That is why I have one in my garage

Having never owned a corvette before, I expected all of the stereotypes to be true, such as a cramped interior, lousy build quality and so forth. None of these having proven to be true. The performance is truly exceptional, it is easy to drive long distances, and nothing has broken or begun to rattle, even with trips to the drag strip and a few road courses. In fact, I frequently choose this over my mercedes sl to drive to work, which surprised even me.

This is my second Corvette and the Z06 compared to my 2000 Coupe is in a totally different league. The Coupe was a blast and I enjoyed it to no end. It is rare living in a major city and looking forward to drive 4 wheels, but the Vettes will do that for you. My Z06 is somewhat a garage queen, but it is hard to stay away from her. This car is such a blast to drive and own I have a hard time deciding whether my Victory Kingpin or the Z06 is going to get my time. C5 Z06s can be had for as little as 19K or as high as 30K, depending upon mileage and condition. I paid 27K for mine, 8 months ago with 20K miles, GT1 wheels (4K), Corsa CatBack exhaust, and Vararam CAI, in flawless condition.

Bought the car as a mixed use track and street car 2.5 years ago. Not sure if it is possible to get more speed per dollar while driving something that is totally OEM. Overall it is a highly capable track car wrapped in a package that is still fun to cruise around in on the street. Generally reliable with a few issues. Needed a new starter and had to re-flow the solder in the ABS module. If you don't mind the high cost of operation (brakes, gas, big tires) it is both rewarding to drive and tons of fun. Stock cooling and brakes are just barely enough for short sprints, extended track use will require work in those areas. The OEM seats are really dubious and fall back on the track.

Since I have not had this car that long I can only tell you that be aware that there is a shift from 1st to 3rd on the manual if you take off at low rpm's this is to give you better gas mileage.

Car is better than imagined. Custom color is fantastic under the sun, if not plain in the shade. New suspension was pulled forward from the next generation corvette and is truely advanced. If anything it is a little too powerfull with a 0-60 time of 4 seconds (in second gear out of 6 gears). Very fun to drive and the 50th badges couse people to stop and stare. Best value of any sports car and all american too.

Incredible performance, great feel, and perfect cornering. With the new F55 Magnetic ride control this car has a smoother ride, bumps are 10x smoother than the F45 or other high performance suspensions. You get a tight ride, but the computer response with the magnetic shocks make it perfect! The heads up display is a must! This car can stop as fast as it can acelerate, FAST! Very happy with my vette!

I am most impressed with the Z06. The engine AND exhaust sound are both excellent, and the torque makes the car amazing to drive. Nothing like being able to accelerate from the light in 4TH gear if you want to! On the highway, the car is very composed, and fairly quiet. The suspension is stiff, but comfortable. Acceleration is simply awesome, and the handling is very light and precise. Braking is very strong, and easy to modulate. Have been averaging about 23 MPG in mixed driving. The car has been flawless, with ZERO build defects. I am loving every moment of it as my daily driver!

My 5th VETTE. This C-5 is truly the best one so far. Could use some interior redesign moving forward. Was able to squeeze 26.9 MPG at 75 MPH while on cruise. Very tight car so far. Like everyone else has noted, tire/road noise must be reduced in future years. Not very much to complain about yet, and I feel it will remain that way in the years to come. I sure hope GM stays in the game and continues to manufacture CORVETTES forever.

Third Corvette I've owned and by far the best. More than competent in every aspect--ride, handling and performance. The big criticism about cheap interior materials doesn't bother me a bit. Chevrolet put the good stuff under the hood and in the suspension. Gets good gas mileage for such a powerful car. Gets lots of respect on the street from other "performance cars".

I was very surprised that the Z06 was extremely comfortable with fantastic gas mileage (18 city/28 highway) yet is is extremely fast when you turn it loose! This is one fast ride that delivers the most performance for the money spent! Go get one!

America's true sports car. This car is a dream to drive, and makes one look for any excuse to get out of the house just to cruise. One plus about owning my spiral gray vette' is how people you've never met take the time to stop and say "nice ride", and the turning of heads as you cruise down the road; truly a rush and morale builder. I normally trade cars every 1-2 years, but finally I've found a car worth keeping.

Awesome machine that is one incredible ride. Seemingly unlimited torque, road handling that defies the laws of physics and a body that is stylish, sophisticated and sexy. Polished rims, telescoping steering wheel, HUD, Bose sound system, 12 CD changer, 29 MPG in 6th gear, 22 CF of trunk space for under 50k! I thought I died & went to heaven.

Brand New 50th Anniversary "2003" Z06

This is a great car in almost every aspect of ownership. The problem is; if you're not a "do it yourself" kind of person, the cost can be shocking every time they open the hood. I personally broke a valve spring, dropped the valve and imploded the engine. I'm told that this is a common problem however it caused a catastrophic failure and the entire engine had to be completely replaced. Finding a new LS6 crate engine is impossible so finding the individual parts and pieces was extremely difficult and way more than VERY costly ... but now having only 3,500 miles on it after replacing the entire drive train, suspension and breaking systems, we virtually have a brand new car again. Loads of fun to drive and it's a real "Head Turner".

Bought it new in 2003, garaged every winter, low millage, excellent maintenance and body care, Moved to Florida and now on the 3rd A/C compressor, had to replace the dash light for the fan indcator and the ABS Brake control modular, the battery , tires twice and I'm not a hard driver, windows leak air and water,The interior noise from the tires is one of the more madding defects in the car, Can't hear the radio or the person in the passenger seat on the HWY. I have only taken thru 1 car wash and got wet, running lights have burnt the plastic housing they are in and I replacethe blubs every other month. was my dream car, I would rather drive my truck w 288,000 mile

Just over 3k miles and my passenger window is stuck. This is pretty pathetic for any car, even more so for $50k or GM's "flagship". I called GM, they used two great excuses: the car is man made and its supplier error. First, you hired those people and pay them $20+ more an hour than Honda or Toyota of America. Second, you qualified those suppliers!!!

All that power and it still gets me almost 30 mpg on the highway (@70 to75). Now that's better mpg than a Toyota Camry V-6. So I can rationalize that I "had to" get this car to help the environment and do my part to stop our dependency on foreign oil. Isn't American technology grand and how about my rational?

This is a car I have wanted all my life. Finally this year I purchased the 50th anniversary car. we just took a road trip to Minnesota, the comfortable was unbelieveable, my wife and I are in our early 50's and usually we are stiff after a long drive, not with the vette. We felt like everyone just moved out of our way on the highways (we are not going real fast. It is a feeling that you cannot imagine if you have not experienced it...HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAR !!!!!!

The car looks great . . . and it is fun to drive . . . if you can put up with just a few little details. First, the interior, where you spend most of your time, is downright embarrassing for a $50,000 car. Everything inside feels like it was taken out of the Caviler's parts bin. It must be embarrassing for Bose to put their name on the sound system . . . it is horrible! My 1999 Ram Air Trans Am with the 500-Watt Monsoon System was worlds better than my 2003 Vette. With all that performance I though I could live with the low quality interior . . . I was wrong!

ive owned this car for 3 months, i bought it at 76k miles. I drive this car around the Inland Empire here in CA. So far this car has been a joy to drive. I always wanted one since i was 12 years old, im 27 now. I used to drive a 350Z and while it was fun, this car is in a whole different league as far as the engine is concerned. This car is definately faster than my 350Z was. The interior is kinda bad just because it feels very outdated (which is understandable for a 2003 car now), and the leather needs to be cared for so be prepared to buy special plastics/leather detailer (not that crappy Armor all or Magic brand). The trunk is spacious. The tires wear out fast but then again this is a sports car. This car does grab attention so try not to drive all crazy because people will notice and you will make the Corvette community look bad. The battery does drain if you dont drive it after 3-4 days and i heard its common with all C5s' so be prepared to carry around a battery jumper just incase. Honestly I dont trust the battery to work sometimes so if you dont want to get stranded asking strangers to jump start you, I suggest you buy the jump starter like I did. The only complaint is the passenger side window doesnt roll down very well which is a common vette complaint. It has minor drawbacks but the handling is very good and the speed and aesthetics of the body make up for it =). Do not drive it in the rain, if you hit a major puddle you will damage the PCU as it is located on the very bottom exterior of the right fender. If you get water on the PCM you are toast and your car will throw off a ton of check engine signals, lights wont work, etc. but dont let that deter you, its still a beautful, very fast car with awesome looks and great handling.

Storage space is great (have made a couple trips to Sam's Club). Gas mileage has averaged just under 25 - quite the economy car! You MUST talk the wife into letting you get one.

One complaint the stereo is marginal at best. Interior could be better, but fit and finish, particularly the paint is excellent, far better than past Vettes.

The only bad thing about driving and riding around in such a beautiful dream car is that there are some real weirdos who are so jealous that they try to run you off the road. My wife and I were driving around on the weekend with the top down, really enjoying ourselves, when this "red-neck or goon or whatever" tried his best to bump us off the road.

Most fun I've had driving a car in a long time. Beats my previous `95 LT1 hands down. But, don't know how folks are getting 12.5 second quarter mile times out of this car. Love the car anyway!

Disgusted with GM, Warranty is worthless

I am totally disgusted with this car and won't purchase another GM product. Corvette was alway my dream car, my dreams were shattered when I bought my brand new 50th anniversary convertible. Many problems, including a leaky roof, 3 different dealers tell me nothing is wrong. After 5 attempts they finally replaced the rubber, guess what, it still leaks. This is just one of many problems with this car. If only the warranty were worth something. I might enjoy it if they would fix it.

This 50th Anniversary model is the most comfortable and most fun Corvette to drive. It has the capabilities of a car more than twice its value.

This car handles well and the Z06 exhaust sounds so good. I just recently installed Philips HID 6000k kit and changed the oil. It's the best value and the design of the engine allows for easy access. That means when the car needs some repair work, it'll be easy to work on and costs less.

I like my Corvette very much, however I have it in storage till winter passes in Michigan. Thus I have only driven it once since I purchased the car in December.

This 03 Rag Top, Yellow no less, 6 speed is our second shot at a Vette. Our 92 Coupe was great, but this 2003 is much more car! Looks, Handling, Workmanship, Performance. Grab a dictionary and all the "good words" describe this car. We are very pleased and put some miles on this past weekend. Lots of admiring motorists! Come on summer!
