The Colorado Work Truck Is Elegant Simplicity
In the old days, back when trucks were little more than an engine and seat, we called basic trucks "stripped down" versions. When I teased the salesman that this was stripped down, he self-righteously corrected me that it is a work truck. To GM's credit, and to his, he is right. It is more than just an engine and seat. But still it isn't for everyone. It lacks numerous creature comforts that people have become accustomed to, like power mirrors, power seats, climate control, and it even lacks an Onstar unit. Until now I thought GM put Onstar in everything. But on the brighter side, it has cruise control, air conditioning, and a bluetooth touch screen sound system. It has 2-wheel drive and a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine, which means reduced offroading and payloads. But it's no slouch. It has a six-speed transmission, will still pull 3500 pounds and the four cylinder engine produces 200 hp without a turbo. For those who don't know or don't remember, the antiquated 283 V8 with a single carb produced only 188 hp. Like I said, it's no slouch. And I love the curb appeal. It's a beautiful truck and allows me a lot of dignity. Bottom line, I live alone and share the truck with no one. I don't need electric seats or mirrors because they never move. I don't go offroad and I don't pull trailers. I'm an old retired guy that likes camping and garage sales. It's perfect for me and for others like me.

Smooth ride, but lots of issues
Hello Everyone, I purchased a new 2021 Colorado last year and had nothing but problems. Before the truck hit 24,000 miles, two fuel injectors, the fuel pump, and the ac compressor failed and needed replacing. At highway speeds over 73 MPH, the truck vibrates and shakes everything in the cab (similar to running over a rumble strip). The infotainment system also had a bad habit of shutting off and becoming unusable for days at a time. I truly believe my specific vehicle was a lemon in the truest sense, but the sheer number of unrelated failures all over the vehicle didn’t paint the best picture for GM quality control. Single system failures happen, I think we have all dealt with this at some point regarding our personal daily-drivers, but having this number of systems fail independently of one another is a huge problem. How can any Chevy owner feel secure when the potential for the defect lottery to strike down any random system is a constant worry? I have since offloaded the vehicle and purchased from another company, but the damage has been done. The two stars represent the only two redeeming qualities of the truck while I had it: no. 1, the price ($23500 is a steal for a pickup truck nowadays) and no. 2, the ride quality (minus the high speed rumble, this truly was a smooth riding machine). Despite its few positives, I would not recommend buying either the Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon.

Love my little truck
I traded in a Volkswagen Tiguan, Which was the 2013 for this truck. I was slightly concerned about fuel consumption and wasn't sure how efficient it was going to be. In all honesty it has amazing fuel efficiency, on average I guess I get 10.5 l per 100 km, Which I find very Amazing considering my tiguan required premium fuel and my average fuel consumption was 9.5 l per 100 km. I purchased the worktruck model, Which for me is perfect because nobody drives the truck but me and it has 4 by 4 , and tow package which was all that I needed really. I thought it was really great that it came with a tonneau cover included in the purchase which really helps my fuel efficiency. I'm very happy with this truck and it was a great decision to trade the tiguan in for it because this vehicle suits our lifestyle much better. I have just over 20000 km on it and and no issues whatsoever except for except for the gas door begin begin to be a bit crooked So I took it to the dealership and they replaced it with no issue because that's covered under manufacturers weren't he.

Colorado
Great power, tows well. This truck has the V6. Interstate gas mileage is about 27mpg. Combined gas mileage around 22-23. I love the truck as far as performance. My only complaint is the materials used in the cab is lacking. The door locks actually rattle and that appears to be normal... I did get the work truck version so I don't expect anything luxurious. I hope to upgrade to a Z71 or ZR2 soon so I'll be interested to see the quality of parts on those. In short, I sold a new Tacoma and like this truck's performance way more than the Tacoma....
