This was my first truck purchase and I wasn't disappointed. The Z71 package provides a stiff ride, which reminds me that I'm in a truck. I get better gas mileage that my previous two SUVs. The truck is the perfect size. The baby seat fits in the rear seat, and I have no problem with parking (even in downtown Chicago). Overall, I would recommend this truck to anyone.

Overall a great truck for someone who doesn't routinely need a large hauling or towing capacity. I've taken several trips over 300 miles and the ride was always comfortable. Plenty of power, smooth shifting, easy on the fly transfer from 2WD to 4WD. Z71 package has a nice ride with good steering input. Holds the road well. 4WD and suspension gives plenty of grip and stability over rough terrain. Very good gas mileage. I average about 20 mpg (23- 24 on mostly highway trips, worst was 17 mpg for a tank but that was almost all stop and go short trips in cold weather). Back seats are only good for small people / short trips.

Great truck so far. Bought a 2004 from the internet based only on the available reviews, features, price, and looks. Everything was true. Good power, torque, handling, ride quality, interior and bed space. Mediocre interior, flat bucket seats, lots of plastic. After 3000 miles I am very happy. The I5 and 4L60e work together beautifully. Quick shifts and instant downshifts. No busy shifting. Excellent ride quality and impressive handling for a small truck. The new I5 engine is impressive but has to prove it's long term reliability. I am so happy to finally drive a vehicle that has over 200 ft lbs of torque available from a small engine.

If you are looking for a combination of power and fuel economy, this is the one. Absolutely tight and well executed.

Gas mileage was at 18.5 mpg until i installed the k&n air filter, then mileage went to 21.5. Have used it to tow 6x12 U-haul trailers with amazing results, plenty of power and gas mileage stayed good. It's not like my old F-150 but more economocal to drive. Only had two warranty issues so far. Front sensor on ABS and squeaky rear brakes, which the dealer took care of both.
