This SUV is perfect for a family of four! Not much storage space, but the seats lay flat to allow for bigger items. Engine runs smooth for a 4 cylinder and definitely a gas saver! The cost is great if you are on a budget!

It is upscale experience with a small footprint. Really quiet compared to the Subaru I had. About the same mileage. Seems a little low for its size but the car is well made and feels way more luxury oriented. Great stereo. Easy electronics to understand.

I bought my Encore Preferred AWD three months ago and I am really impressed. It drives extremely well and is so quiet. I have no complaints. It is beautiful to look at and the LED headlights set off the classy black exterior. I am looking forward to some snow in Western New York to test out the AWD. I am so happy with my purchase.

It started out great the first week, then started the items to be fixed. The heater had issues. Then the big one was the turbo. Not one time but 3 times. When it goes out you have no power. To sum it up, this vehicle was in the shop 8 times in less than 2 years. That is an average of every 3 months.

We bought a 2nd car before buying a 1st car. The 0% financing for 72 months got our attention. We bought a Demo with almost 6000 miles; we got a good deal considering the chip/vehicle shortage. Overall, we like the Buick Encore. It seems solid mechanically and body integrity wise. The only negatives are back seat room, cargo space, and some road noise (could be the next set of tires might help). The car has plenty of room for the front seat occupants (I am 6'3", 300+ lbs). I would recommend this vehicle for anyone that wants to spend less than 30k.

If you are looking for a small SUV, this is the one for you. Easy to operate. You don't need a key to open and unlock the doors (big plus). Push button start. Comfortable seats and easy to get in and out of. Quiet ride. Love this little SUV!

Buick has one horrible aspect to this car - Screaming brakes, shrill to hurt your ears. Buick says its normal for their cars to have screaming brakes and there is no fix. People, there are plenty of other cars without this issue. In 50 year and maybe 30 cars, I've never had one with brakes that scream like this, Otherwise the car is fine but is quirky.

We hit a deer 5 months ago it caused the seat belt to malfunction on the drivers side. GMC cannot get us a seat belt and has no clue when one will become available. In the meantime the dealership won't release the car because of the safety aspect. GMC gas taken no incentive to help us get on either. Been a customer if GMC for years but after this they lost our business.

Excellent Car

I leased two 2020 Encore Preferred models—one for me, the other for my college-aged daughter. Sadly, she crashed hers within two years, rendering it a total loss. The accident was severe; she escaped with a fractured nose from the airbag deployment. That card has 21K miles and was flawless and never in the shop. I'm still driving mine, although the lease is almost up; I have 43K miles and an excellent vehicle with no issues. I loved the spunky engine; the mpg is in the high 30s and gives a surprisingly smooth ride. I have ZERO complaints about this car and would buy another one, except I'm now in the market for a pickup. These are genuinely great cars, and I highly recommend them.

I traded in my old CVR and purchased a Buick Encore. One week after I brought it home it started having problems - little things like the stereo cracking, and a little trouble accelerating. I thought maybe once I drove it awhile these little bugs would work themselves out. WRONG! It has been one thing after another with this car. The timing belt, the AC, the stereo, the rear camera, the alternator - they have all needed repairs. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Buick. I'd rather thumb a ride with a serial killer than buy another Buick.

Pretty, nice price(20k), nice colors, a bit of a noisy set of tires, steering is extremely sensitive at 65, view of instruments and road took a lot of seat and steering adjustments to get it right, steering wheel then blocked view of speedometer, all the niceties were offset by the not-so-niceties. I liked the seat height, but am not into the sub compact reality.

Not as cute as it looks

I had one of these as a rental when my car had to be repaired after an accident. I would see the encores souping down the road and thought they were so cute and possibly fun. So when the rental company offered me one I didn’t turn them down. The front seems kinda luxurious until you notice the interior at a close look is cheap plastic on the dash and doors. I loved the big touch screen and the features it came with. The front seats are narrow. I was packing my things in the back to go to work one day and sat in the back to sort them so they wouldn’t fall over. Well... sitting back there it’s cramped very cramped and I’m a little short person and felt claustrophobic back there, also the materials back there are even cheaper. I would hate to ride back there on a long trip. The trunk very tiny! So then I end up driving all day one of the days while I had it because I had to go see clients...it was so uncomfortable driving. This wasn’t worth the price they charge for them. Keep in mind I’m a short and little person and I gelt cramped. I was not impressed and was glad to get my car back. This thing is cheaply made and not as luxurious or fine as advertised.

Encore GX Select Sport touring

My first issue was with the brakes, they had me drive it that way for a year before Buick did a recall. My second issue was a purge pump issue, my third was a transmission chip/ solenoid 55 days in the shop, my fourth issue is the shifter. It's been in the shop for 70 days and counting this time. While it's been in the shop, I received a letter from Buick stating there may be another purge pump issue in my future. If it happens within 15 yrs. to 150,000 miles they will repair. But other than all those pesky repair issues, I really like the vehicle. It's easy to maneuver, it has enough room in the boot to fit all my stuff, I think it's a nice-looking car. When stuff isn't breaking down on it I enjoy it. Right now I am at 13k miles, it was brand new when I got it. I just need a nice little SUV to get me to my destination safely. This car is giving me GM PTSD. I guess the CEO's need to quit giving themselves big bonuses and raises and put more money into the parts they are putting on these cars. They are putting cheaper parts on the vehicles and then jacking up the costs. It's ridiculous to have this many issues with a car that is less than 3 yrs owned, gets maintenanced regularly, has approximately 13k. I am also up to my eyeballs in rental fees going on the third month and just received my first months rental fee. This could be financially devastating to some people. It's certainly an unexpected stress. The reason you purchase a new car is for reliability, so you don't have to stressed with repair issues. This one is definitely Lemon title worthy.

I had one as a dealer loaner while my car was getting repaired. In the 4 days I had the Encore, I drove over 500 miles and continually dreaded getting into it to drive it. Cramped seats and very little legroom for the driver and passenger, the engine was underpowered and the car felt exceptionally sluggish on the highway, at certain points, I did not feel confident changing lanes. The interior felt cheap and the seats were uncomfortable. Despite owning Buicks for years, this is not one that I would consider buying. I have a friend who just bought a Jeep Compass brand new and for the money, I would strongly recommend one of those instead of an Encore.

Finished a multi week rental and think I can sum this up as that song from Bob's Burgers: "Quarter A**ing". Buick seems to have just given up half way through designing this thing. In fact I'm having trouble trying to determine who this thing is designed for. Cargo hold is non existent, I basically had to fold down back seats when hauling luggage, large items, almost anything. Why does only the driver get an arm rest? Why is the center cargo hold so small and far away? Why is there no real storage for small things in the car? Why do the auto headlights wait until after dark to turn on? Why are the intelligent wipers unintelligent and never adjust or turn on? Why does auto climate control constantly fog up the windows? Why is there permanent two zone climate control with no sync? Why do the power seats power the bottom but not the tilt? Why do the vehicle settings not seem to set things like the heated seat when remote starting (but say they do)? Why is there rear vehicle detection but no other features like lane keep assist, pre coalition, etc? Why is that rear wiper so teeny tiny? Why is there navigation but only if I call and talk to an Onstar person? Who wants to talk to Onstar constantly!?! Why is center display features only accessible from the turn signal stick so that you have to take your hand off the wheel and fiddle with something complex that almost prevents your from using the steering wheel while driving? Why is the radio reception so very bad? It wouldn't pick up stations our ten year old car had no problem locking on to. Why is the gas tank so teeny tiny? It's just an odd non functional mix of features. I will say, it is very quiet on well paved roads. It does have nice bright headlights. It is oddly high riding (which can make it teetery at times) but gives you nice visibility. Acceleration isn't to bad if you really push it. I suspect premium might help this. Luckily CarPlay is available for the infotainment and navigation. It does have a nice cutsy rumble tumble look to it.

could not fit a suitcase and a small cooler in the trunk. what in the name of marconi is up with the am/fm antenna? i KNOW there are plenty of radio stations on the routes i drive, this radio couldn't seem to find them. took 2 days to find the trip odometer (and another 1/2 hour to find out "how" to operate it). really, the radio was the biggest complaint! driving down I-40 between needles and barstow is mind numbing enough, now turn on the lack of radio reception!

This little hot rod replaced My Lincoln MKX AWD. One minute I had it.. Next stupid human trick moment it was on the hook. I was used to being surrounded by lotsa bells and whistle's in my Lincoln so when I set out to replace my transportation I saw a car on a dealers website and the second I saw the Buick Encore.. It was instantly Game Over. The style.. and curb appeal you might say blew me away. Nothing about it was show offish. It was just sexy and petite and self assuming. Perfect for simple people with simple needs. I'll never load a couch in it but it offers everything even an active family will ever need. Comfortable on every level and the best thing is the economics of operation were startling. And the Bells and Whistles in buying this car.. I bought even more than I lost! only loss.. Heated seats! All the creature comforts are there. True the cargo space is slightly smaller than most but how much room does a loaf of bread, milk and eggs need?! If you've heard thee expression.. Diamond in the rough.. My friend for mini money you have just put a Diamond in the driveway! I expect my encore will last me many years faithfully and this being my second Buick.. I promise you.. I'll be back.. GM.. This Buick Encore is the best of the rest. Thank You

good small SUV. Road noise and lack of cargo space is a drawback. Front Seating is comfortable. I am 300lbs., so I have not bothered to get in the back seat. My mother-in-law seems okay back there, all 4'9" of her. Good gas mileage is a plus. Decent power. The PRICE WAS REASONABLE. 0% Financing was the key in my purchase. I would recommend for daily commute, but not for cross country trip. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase. It isn't easy to get a new vehicle for under $400/month.

Serious buyers remorse happening for me after getting the '22 Encore Preferred. I had always wanted to try a Buick and had my eye on the Encore for a while. First thing I noticed was the gas milage is shockingly bad for such a small vehicle with an engine to match. The needle seems to fall right before your eyes......I swear my 2016 Caravan got better gas milage than this thing does. I guess they made the engine more powerful this time around, but all I have to say about that is I would have hated to see the weaker version because this one aint exactly a V-8 itself, making passing in particular much more challenging than I'm used to. Between the seat console configuration isn't very imaginative or roomy and the USB ports are nearly impossible to reach being tucked at the back of cubby which sits directly in front of the shifter. Ride is often bumpy as most smaller vehicles tend to be. Body/cabin is a bit too vertical for me - the new GX version is wider and lower. I looked at the GX and decided to go with the cheaper Preferred, but the difference is price is only a couple grand I think. Seats are semi-comfy at best. Stereo is ok.....servicable if nothing else. Overall........wish I'd splurged for either the GX or even a truck. Oh well, chalk this one up as an oops and carry on.

I bought the new 2022 Preferred in 2023 and preferred over the 2023 GX due to the 4 cylinder turbo and 6 Speed auto transmission. Also it is a bit taller than the GX, the GX is a couple inches longer. The 2023 GX is a 3 cylinder with cvc transmission. I didn't want a cvc tranny. I have been really happy with it. Dark moon blue is metallic but looks black except when in the sun it is beautiful. I am light footed and average about 29 mpg combined. I Love it. It is small but perfect for me and my dog. Lol. Towing is rated 1048 lbs. but have seen it rated 1500 on one site but can't confirm that. I love the keyless feature and the 3 year wifi/ OnStar. I have had no issues. Love how quiet it is.

This is my 3rd Buick Encore. It has a few new features, but but basically the same as the first one. The interior isn't as nice--I wanted leather, but that is now too expensive. The seat warmers have to be installed on the car, which I don't like. One could find an Encore with seat warmers, but the wait, price, and availability might be problematic.

Good Car With A Few Caveats

Overall, I like the car. It's a nice size for me. It's big enough that I can transport pieces of furniture from Ikea, TVs from Best Buy, and other stuff like that with no issue. It's also small enough that I can fit into tight parking spots and things like that. I like that it has push to start and keyless entry available. That can be very helpful when I have my hands full and don't feel like rattling around in my bag for the key. All of the systems in the car are nice. I like that it has OnStar available. One EXTREMELY annoying thing about this car for me is that when you are low on gas, it doesn’t tell you how many miles you have until you run out of gas. At first, it does, but once you get to like 30-40 miles left, it stops showing a number and just says “Low.” This is a HUGE inconvenience for me. I would prefer to see an actual number. “Low” doesn’t really mean anything to me. If I have 30 miles left, I'm going to keep driving, but if I have 5 miles left, I will stop for gas. With this car, there is no way to know which it is.

Ok, the ford super duty 6.0 was the worst but this is a USELESS vehicle. CANT get a kayak rack to go to the river for a day of fun. CANT get a trailer hitch to pull a trailer for the kayaks. CANT get off road/snow tires to get up the driveway in winter!! Thats a dozen 2 mile walks in deep snow every week all winter carrying 50 pound feed bags up a steep hill, as the SUV gets parked at the street and we have to walk home!!!! Cant get a remote start which is an available option- but the dealer cant add it later- as we were told. This thing may be OK to go a mile to work- in town ONLY- in Texas, but its totally useless for ANYTHING else- anywhere else. No where near the space or use-ability of the RAV4 we traded in. THAT RAV-4 WOULD CARRY EVERYTHING WE WANTED ANYWHERE. (with AT2 tires it would bust through 4 ft deep snow drifts without hesitation). Computer has glitches but the heater, radio, cruise and wipers work well. We are stuck as we only get a vehicle every 18 years. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, NEVER again Buick.

I have had so many problems with this car. Bought it 2 years ago and it’s been in the shop 5 times! Transmission module, starter module, kept over heating…well at least the module THOUGHT it was over heating. It was another module. That cost me $1200. A couple of times they couldn’t figure out why it was telling me it was over heating. The last time in the shop they told me an error was coming up and I MAY have a problem with the heater this winter, which is no longer under warranty and will cost me about $1500. Well last night my engine light came on again…UGH. I bought a new car so I wouldn’t have problems. Buick, Never again!!

I bought this car in January 22 because the transmission went on my other car and I needed to go to work the next day. The car is small. I am 6'4" and no one could sit in the in the seat behind me. I need AWD as I ski and live in the mountains. The most disturbing thing that happened twice was when the AWD over heated in a snowstorm and shuts down. So, when I really needed it it over heated and shut off. It reverts to front wheel drive. The manual says to shut the car off and let it cool down? Was going to write a review sooner. But, wanted to trade it in first. Over all not a terrible car. The mileage for such a tiny vehicle wasn't that great and the fuel tank is on the smaller side. Filled up every 300 miles or so.

Purchased the buick encore for its fuel economy, I do all highway driving, but it's not that great on fuel averaged about 9l/100 in the winter it gets worse 12l/100 in the cold-20c or below ut goes into a safe mode where it dosen't go into 6th gear. GM says it's a safety feature to keep the turbo hot. Seatbelts lock up so you can't move,Radio wouldn't hold a memory, uncomfortable of your a bigger person. However for a small suv it does drive and rise nice

I loved this car, it was my first car I purchased on my own. It rides smooth and has the best gas mileage. No issues with maintenance, regular oil changes, tire rotations and the car purrs . Looks beautiful and moves in and out of traffic like a dream. You couldn't do better then this car.
