Dinan Tuned 335i Convertible.
I love my Dinan Tuned twin turbo convertible! I am the 2nd owner and bought a BMW that was maintained very well under extended warranty by the first owner. If you research the N54 engine ('07-'10 335i models) - you'd learn that certain expensive components on most of these BMW's fail by 80k miles, so if you buy a 335i that hasn't had these faulty parts replaced, you'll spend thousands of $$ to replace each item. That includes a fuel pump, fuel injectors, water pump and twin turbos. I flew in one way to LA to pick up my BMW after evaluating Carfax report and service records that the previous owner provided and verifying that BMW dealership replaced all important parts including HPFP, all fuel injectors, both turbos, water pump, thermostat, oil filter housing gasket, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, oil cooler gasket, spark plugs, front control arm bushings, front tie rod assembly and other misc. items under the extended warranty (~$18,000) and there haven't been any problems for the last 25K miles. As other owners of BMW's say - either buy a well maintained 335i that had the issues above addressed (with verifiable service records) or get an extended warranty - otherwise you will spend $5-7K a year to maintain this beautiful and fun ultimate driving machine. I highly recommend you request a Carfax report and verify service records before buying your BMW, and if the seller cannot afford to spend $30 on Carfax report and has no maintenance records - you are probably buying a money pit. Don't buy salvage BMW's either - most have odometer rolled back and are in poor mechanical shape. Good luck!

What a car
I have never owned a car that turns heads the way this one does. Put the top up or down at a stop light and watch the looks. I have even heard "I gotta get me one of those". This is still a new car and only has a few thousand miles on it so far. To say that it is fun to drive is an understatement. This was a gift for my wife and it was a home run. We have the atlantic blue, a new color with the cream interior... stunning. The only problems I have had so far were self induced, but after reading the manual all were solved. I must have a Wednesday car because the workmanship is outstanding. Unbelieveably quiet with the hard top up. Great car.
Get rid of Run Flats
The car looks great, top up or down. Its quiet. You can have a normal conversation even with the top down. It has a comfortable cockpit feel and is fun to drive. My biggest complaint is the Run Flat Tires. My car has the sport package with different size tires on the back. Picking up a small nail at 800 miles, I learned that BMW and Firestone would not repair it, a new tire cost $350 plus and neither had it in stock. The car does not come with a spare or a jack. If you get a flat, pray that youre close to home because you can only drive 50 miles and then you are stuck, probably for days. I bought a spare wheel and tire. With a second flat at 4000 miles, I put regular tires on.
BMW
We purchased this beauty and love the car. The only problem we have is that the convertible top is not working like it suppose to. It has been in the shop 4 times since we purchased the vehicle. The first time it was a computer chip where they literally had to take out the back seat. Then it was another computer glitch and now the top when it is closed makes noises. The runflats I am not impressed, the ride is rough when you hit a bump and then the tire light comes on. Other then that we love the car.
Eats rear tires in record time.
Between the wife and I, we have owned an E30, E36, E46 and this E93 BMW. As with the others, when it works correctly, it is fantastic. When it doesn't, it breaks your heart and wallet. First off, MPG is horrid. Best we've had is 24mpg. Coils go bad randomly, I've replaced 3 in a year and a half. It's a lengthy explanation, but due to the direct injection, you HAVE to get the intake valves cleaned about every 30-40k miles, and it's about $1000 each time. But the worst is the fact that it eats rear tires like nothing I've ever seen. Like they are made of butter. 5000-6000 miles, max, and it doesn't matter what brand or treadwear rating they are. Summer tires, All-seasons, doesn't matter. Nothing lasts more than about 6000 miles. I've owned this car 18 months, and I just vaporized the FOURTH SET of rear tires. It sees 90% highway miles. Unless you drive sparingly, or simply have unlimited funds to feed this thing, I cannot under any circumstances recommend this car to anyone. Update: the rear upper control arm bushings were jello, allowing dynamic camber and toe changes while driving. Replaced with some adjustable heim-joint units and rear tires now last about 15000 miles. Which is still terrible but far better than the 5-6000 I was getting.

Fun car but below average
I bought the car in 5/07. The hardtop has been fixed once. The seatbelt metal clip put a few dents and scratches on the inside of driver's door. Driver seat is uncomfortable despite adjustment. Run flat tires are heavy and don't perform so well. No room for spare tire. iDrive freezes up occasionally and service dept can't duplicate it, and therefore they can't fix it. "Engine malfunction, reduced power" came on at 21000 miles in 10 months, now pending repair.
This Convertible is Fun to Drive
The look of this vehicle is one of the best. Definitely a head turner. I had a problem with the top; minor issue. I also got a flat tire on those less than par run-flat tires. Luckily I had purchased the warranty so I was reimbursed for the high price tag. Not sure impractical in AZ. All in all great car!!
Ouch Ride
I had the car less than a month when I hit a pot hole on the Long Beach Freeway popping one tire and bending two rims. The ride is horrible when going over small bumps and it bottoms out on small speed bumps. I had to replace both rear tires at 20,000 miles as they were completely worn through on the inside. The dealer helped with this due to the earlier problem, but the tires should last much longer. There is no window switch in the back seat! The rear seat passengers have to ask the driver to lower or raise the window. The car is beautiful, but I'm glad I'm leasing it because it's going back at the end of the lease!
'07 335i Cabby
Check for recalls, I had only 1. This thing is a blast to drive, it's just as fast as an M3, and has a much smoother ride. Watch the speedo, it will easily get away from your attention span. On a recent road trip, my wife was cruising at 100mph, she was very surprised. It got away from her and she says she doesn't like going that fast.(right.) The thing turns like it's on rails. My Grandkids ask for rides every time they come over. I get a lot of people who try to 'impress' me with other brands, usually young men in Asain cars. I just smile, or sometimes laugh out loud. Usually the people who drive other cars of similar quality, appreciate it, as I do their cars.

328i convertible '07
I own a BMW 328 convertible 07, in 2 months it been sent to dealer 3 times. First problem was brake warning, second times it has same problem.Third time, both rear power windows broken, have to order parts, and then shift warning problem, parts ordered is in back order. This car is just a piece of junks,it is a waste of money and time. Not only that,it is frustrated too.I feel nervous every time hearing alarm warning sound. My car still sitting at dealer now waiting for parts.I will get rid of this BMW car as soon as possible and never BMW again
1200 miles in 3 weeks
First BMW and I love it - it is a drivers car - hands on - it's so much fun I don't even want to use cruise control.
For Someone Special
Pamper yourself with this car, it is worth it! A 2007 BMW 328i convertible is the gift that keeps on giving. It may not be the most practical vehicle choice but it sure has been the most fun! A Mother's Day gift for my wife, the thrill and joy of this open-air baby just keeps on rewarding her as I have never seen her happier. Exceptionally comfortable and luxurious. The 3.0 liter in-line six with 230-hp is adequate. Surprisingly smooth on the road, quiet, and fuel economical.
Buy an OBD reader
Sensors, sensors, sensors. Great car! But if you panic with trouble lights on the dash..you might not want this car. A reader will tell you what is going on without going to a dealer. You can turn them off. And if they come back..investigative yourself (YouTube). Valve cover gasket is a known problem. A plastic cover doesn't help. Find a mechanic for maintenance. Mine was bought last year with 55k miles. It shines like new. Sporty! Update: 4,000 later. A great little car. No lights! Good gas mileage...26-30 Replaced rear shocks that had lost the fluid. Did it myself. Did put a new battery in. Bought from a local parts store. AGM type batteries are a little more, but not outrageous. Did it myself. You need the reader to tell the computer the battery is new. It sets up a charging plan that considers its age. All in all, love it. Great car for its age. (2007)(59,000)
looks and runs great, still dealer captive
we bought our 2007 328i convertible in 2021 so it is an older car with 140,000 miles, six speed automatic and red paint. it still looks great, the top is very cool but can be a little unnerving when it does no it want to lock in the up or down positions, and it has strange systems-you have to drive the car at least 5-7 miles before you can ELECTRONICALLY check the oil level,(really dumb) and you do that while it is running. It has the strange lug bolts instead of lug nuts so putting a wheel on is a real German pain in the neck. I replaced the lug bolts with studs and nuts, now it is normal. The hid headlights are also problematic in that the passenger side now not working (except for the blinker) so it is a major ordeal to replace-expensive and you literally have to take the front of the car apart to just change a bulb. it has navigation but i did not get the disk with the map so i have been trying to locate something that will work, to no avail thus far. we bought it for fun as we are newly retired, but i have always worked on all our cars for over 50 years, so this is new to me. i am not looking forward to the inevitable electric water pump replacement or thermostat housing which i know will need to be done every 35,000 miles. it only had one remote, you have to get a new one from the dealer and it is expensive big time. probably should have my head examined but i will do my best to take care of it and hope that it lasts enough so we can enjoy it.

Fun to Drive & Look @
Great fun car to drive, looks great, but everytime i go to the dealership, they find something that is not under the certified pre owned warranty, and had the car 2 1/2 yrs, replaced run flats 3 times, very expensive tires, 0 miles warranty, finally last time i just went and bought 2 michellin tires for the back which were same as 1 run flat, and had 45k warranty on the full replacement, not pro rated, full free replacement, only thing i am affraid off is that i have no room for a spare in the trunk, so if i get a flat i have to get the car towed, guess i will just buy a tire inflator pump for the road, and get it towed at Bmw roadside expense if i get a flat.
Great Sports Car Alternative
I've driven this car for 2 years and have nothing but accolades for it. the 335i is a fantastic looking car with compliments galore. Having owned a Honda s2000 sports car, I know the difference between a blue blood and a true blood. What the 335i offers is power with flat-out speed and agility to make the quick dodge or turn if you need it. The comfort for two is plush with every convenience. This is a car you drive cross-country to an art show in SF and feel you are a part of the rich and famous. Of course, with a new $ tag of close to $70k with all the do- dads, you are. However, it is not a ultra nimble S2000, so sticking to a super tight turn with the peddle to the metal is not advised.
Beautiful car with reliability issues
I had Infiniti G35 before and hesitated getting a BMW because of poor reliability track record of any new BMW models. The car looks beautiful and drives well, so I listened to recommendations and bought the 335 hardtop convertible. In the 2nd week, the hardtop started to slam down when closing and doesn't tighten. I took it back and it's been 4 days and I still don't have my car back. Comfort access features, navigation, and iDrive also have some bugs. While I like the car when it's working right, I don't think it's worth the hassle. It's been the worst experience with any car purchase across the board.
JaysE93
This is a great 3 season car. Very fast and fun to drive. No issues whatsoever mechanically. Been a great car all around.

Transformers Beware - The E93 Shames Bumblebee!
I never considered buying a BMW before - the pompous marketing of them as "The Ultimate Driving Machine" was so...GERMAN. Little did I know, that descriptor is actually an UNDERSTATEMENT. I have never in my life driven a vehicle that combines luxury, power, looks and FUN like the 328i Convertible. Every time I drive this baby with the top retracted - EVERYTIME - I get one, or all, of the following comments: Where Can I Get One? Will You Marry Me? You Are the Happiest Man on Earth? I'll Buy It Off You NOW! The looks I get when I drop the hard top into the trunk are priceless. But the REAL fun comes when I mash that accelerator down and launch into orbit. Nothing quite so satisfying as having a Camaro or a Challenger or Drifter pull up next to me and challenge me to a drag. Little do they suspect that a straight 6, dual turbo heart beats under the BMW's hood. Big engine, little weight plus German engineering equals dropped jaws in my rear-view mirror. My wife loves to see me drive up after a day at work with an ear-to-ear grin as I exit the cockpit. BMW E93 is not only the Ultimate Driving Machine, it is the Ultimate MACHINE!

Ultimate Tanning Machine
Just bought this car 10 days ago and chose it over a 2006 Corvette LT3 convertible. Styling is conservatively aggressive and should be appealing for a long time. Engine is really strong and I'm enjoying using the paddle shifters. Highest quality interior of any 3 I've ever had and this is my fifth one. More technology in this car than I will ever use, but it's fun to have it. Hard to believe but this car listed for over $60K and I got it for approximately two-thirds of that. My first service experience was pleasant and I'm a big fan of BMW's comprehensive service for the first four years or 50,000 miles.
2007 335i cabriolet
I have owned seven BMWs over the last 30 years, beginning with a 1974 2002. This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. It performs just as advertized. The engine is incredible. Very smooth, powerful and fast. And the car actually gets 21 mpg around town and 29 on the highway (automatic tranny)! The front seats are comfortable, but the back is a little cramped (although not bad for a convertible). What is really amazing is how quiet the car is when the roof is up. Solid as a hard top. This is truly one of BMW's best creations and I recommend it to anyone who wants a great convertible!
Hard to beat a Bimmer
Now four months into the ownership experience and really happy with this vehicle. Superb power. Drop dead gorgeous looks. Nothing handles better. Bought used and saved big bucks.
A Truly Amazing Car
I just traded in my 2002 BMW M coupe for this 335i convertible and was a little skeptical about making such a huge change at first. When I first picked up the car I spent the whole day driving it and what a ride! I was completely blown away with the comfort, power, handling, and sheer beauty of this vehicle. The attention to detail is fantastic and I kept finding little things that would shock me with excitement. The engine sound is completely unlike any BMW I've ever driven - and I've driven a lot! It sounds really exotic and has a subtle but aggressive growl that thrills when you put your foot down. I thought I would really miss my M coupe but I honestly haven't thought about it at all!
Ultimate Convertible
Simply put, for me and should be for you, this is the best convertible in its class. Most fun to drive. Gets all the looks, has plenty of power and handles like a pure sports car. It is stiff, but I expected it. If you want a soft Lexus type of ride this is not for you. I love the ride and feel very confident turning the car at high speeds. If you are looking for a sports convertible and you don't test ride this you are making a mistake. It's great to build the one you want as well. Your options, your colors, but the option packages can put you in the range of of a 5 or 6 series in price.
My Seventh Bimmer
This is the seventh BMW I have owned, my first one being a 1974 2002. And, it is by far the best one. The build is rock solid, the fit and finish first class, and the performance outstanding. The most attractive feature of this car (aside from its hard top convertible design) is its 3 liter twin turbo engine. With 300 lb ft of torque available all the way from 1500 to above 5000 rpm, this car accelerates like a sling shot. While the driving aspects are first class, the electronics leave something to be desired. The comfort access feature is supposed to allow keyless driving, but the Bluetooth does not work properly unless the key is in the slot.
Fun, Headturning Convertible
I've been an Infiniti driver for the past 5 years, G35 coupe and FX35. Whenever it's time to buy, I've considered BMW but never could get past the sticker shock and brake dust problem. It was all over with one look at the BMW 335i hardtop convertible. Then I made a bigger mistake and test drove it... wow! I had to have it. This is the most awesome ride ever! I get tons of compliments from people and opening/closing the top stops traffic! Definitely a keeper if I can get the technical issues fixed.
A Very Satisfied Owner
I had always wanted a true convertible and when I read about the new 335 hardtop conv and the tt engine I plunked down my money. I took ED delivery in July and we had a once in a lifetime expereince driving through the Alps and Italy. It is now home and over Thanksgiving it had its first long trip of 1,200m RT. Although it is technically a very sophisticated car, with heaps of electronic gadgetry - I have iDrive - it all works as advertised. I even lowered the top on I-95 in stopped traffic. Needless to say, it is fast and performs very well. And it is quiet cruising at 100 as if it were a coupe. Gas mileage isn't bad either, getting 23 mpg in a mix of suburban and high speed driving.
Great Fun, but...
The 335i Convertible is a great year round car. Hardtop is splendid, and top down is, well an ideal convertible experience. Performance with the 300HP Twin Turbo is seamless and strong. Nice exhaust note. Would not recommend the Sport Package. Tires are different sized front to rear and terrible runflats (Bridgestones). They were OK until about 7000 miles and then feathered, cupped and droned all the time. Awful experience, dealer and BMW were not helpful. Beware, these tires on Sport Package cannot be rotated and the Run Flats ruined my BMW experience. Never again. Otherwise, car is great, but tires are so important as that is your contact with the road. Shame on BMW for using that tire.
