The best 3-series yet!
This car is a beauty to drive, be in, and look at. It hugs the road, has virtually no lean in tight curves, accelerates well and is ohhh so smooth and quiet. The inline 6 is peppy, and the handling is what you would expect from BMW. The interior well appointed (with the premium and winter packages) and the finish is flawless. Try the automatic transmission if you are uncomfortable with manual: the difference in 0 - 60 is there but is not that significant. All in all this is a fun car to drive to work, on weekends, or whenever you just feel like tainkg a spin.
It's a sexy car!
I purchased my 330i 4 months ago and I just love the handle. It hugs the road and corners as I move in and out of lanes. This car has great acceleration and swift movement. To me there is no better car on the road. I am a BMW driver for life.

Not a bad ride!
I really like this car, but I was well aware of most of it's flaws before purchasing--so do your homework! It handles better than any car I've ever driven (had Audi S4 before this)! It's got good acceleration than in years past (although slower than the S4). The audio system sounds about like what you'd expect for a car in this price range. The iDrive isn't nearly as bad as everyone has said, but you must spend a few hours with the ops manual AS SOON AS YOU GET THE CAR - or at least soon after to enjoy all of it's features. The NAV works pretty well, and the cd plays mp3's. However, whatever CD you have in plays continuously-the "off" button is only a "mute" button, so it keeps spinning.
Good Choice
Bought my stripped-down 325i off the lot, on-impulse, though I had test-driven last year's model. Compared to that car, this is roomier and more attractive. It's zippy and the ride/drive is effortless. Suspension, great,q uiet compartment and first fun car I've owned in 10 years.
The best ever
I drove my son's 2002 325 manual for a year - I did no like it, I have posted a message to this respect. Now, this 2006 also a manual is a totally different thing, I love it and I am convinced it will be grow to be a legend. Please do not buy this car as an automatic it make no sense. The only reason one would want an automatic is the heavy traffic on an incline. This manual solved this problem by engaging in the 1st gear just by releasing the clutch and then it you are on an incline the beaks release only when the clutch is engaged therefore there is zero rollback. Thank you BMW.
no regrets!
I have owned the car for about a month now and I love driving it around! The sound system is great even though mine only has 10 speakers. Acceleration does lag a bit since mine is automatic trans. but overall I am satisfied with the performance. The exterior would look better if the headlight didn't have the yellow stripe (like the european version).
Best luxury car there is!
I just bought my 2006 325i in mid- August and I absolutely love it. As a woman, I can tell you how great it is to drive and the 'envy eyes' you get riding around time. Its reliable, great on gas and that's coming from a ex- honda civic owner. I also have the navigation system and I feel like I'm in heaven. Best damn car ever!
06 BMW 330i one of the best
The bottom line is that special feeling of being in touch with the road. That seat of the pants feel of just fun to drive. There is just no other way to explain it. Everything about the car seems to be designed to give you that feel of the road. Acceleration, brake performance, road control are all there. BMW has began to recognize the need for that feel of added luxury. The interior catches the eye and the seats are comfortable to sit in. The exterior holds its own when compared to similar models. It is a nice looking car. No one will regret owning this automobile.
Great Car
I was reading some of the reviews and thought I would give my opinion. This car is like no other. I see complaints of tires, etc. Purchase the tire/wheel warranty. It will pay for itself after one nail in a tire. Also, buy CPO. The only thing not covered is a battery ($250), but the money you save otherwise can't be beat. I bought while living in Miami and was listed for 34,000 and walked out for under 25,000 with warranty that blows other makers away on a car with 24,000 miles. Yeah, its had some minor issues, but for me its the best car available for the money. This car will not disappoint other than snow. I will get snow tires this year.
2006 325i ALL SMILES
What an upgrade from a VW Jetta. The saying, " VW Jetta is a poor man's BMW," is partially true, and now I know what I have been missing by not paying the extra 5K to get a BMW in the past. I think We just bought a new BMW at the right time. This car is German engineering to the T. Absolutely flawless, stout, and sleek at the same time. We lost our 2001 VR6 Jetta to Katrina, and the wife wanted another German made car. So, we went to a BMW dealer, and that same day we decided to purchase. If you are in the market for a sport sedan, want the best of the best... go test drive the 2006 325i!
Excellent Car, Questionable Value
This is by far the best car I've ever owned. The engine is smooth and feels more powerful than its advetised 215 hp. Manual transmission is slick and precise. Base model is well equipped, which is fortunate because options make the price unreasonable very fast. Keep the pedal off the firewall and fuel economy is average. Zing it to the redline between every stoplight (much fun!) and economy will suffer greatly. Ride is firm and controlled with base suspension, but not harsh. Have had no mechanical problems in the 3000 miles I've owned it. Base stereo is passable, but disappointing in a car of this stature. A great car, but probably not the best value available for your money.
2006 BMW 325i
In having new performance cars for years, this the best car I've had thus far. Absolutely no regrets in buying it! The 5 series is more car than I even wanted, a little big for me and pricier for things I wouldn't use anyway now, but I noticed that in 06 the new 325 has features built in that the 5 and 7 series have (some optional though) so when it comes to luxury and performance and good residual value, I think they're an excellent choice, plus they handle like nothing I've ever had before. I just picked one with the options I wanted vs paying extra for options I'd never use anyway in a car so for me it's perfect.
Somewhat disappointed
This is my third 3 series BMW in the last 5 years. I've previously owned a 325xi and my last 2 have been 330xis so I feel I'm fairly qualified to write an objective review. The 2006 body style is terrific and the interior appointments are far better than previous years. The seats are comfortable and seem to wrap around your body like a glove. The overall ride experience is firmer than my previous cars and I do not seem to get the same "rush" when stepping on the gas as my 2003 330xi. The lack of body side molding is a problem as I already have dings where side-molding should have been. The radio (even with Sirius) is average and the cup-holders are woefully inadequate. This car is just Ok.
Love my new 330
I've got 1,200 miles on mine and I absolutely love this car. Traded a 2002 CTS. The 330 blows it away off the line. I love the sporty ride and all the tech gizmos. Only complaint so far is not enough storage space. I think BMW has hit a home run with this car
Initial impressions.
These are just initial impressions after only 600 miles. I can't comment on reliability. I replaced a 03 330Ci for a 06 330i and I also drive a 04 Audi A4 1.8T. All of these cars with sport package. I am both a BMW and Audi fan btw. This 3er is by far the best handling car out of the three. I did not imagine that the new 3er would outperform my old Ci because that vehicle was already excellent. This car is ridiculous in cornering and has 30 horses more. I don't think I will ever be able to push it its limit. The car simply beats the the current A4 as well. In short if you are in for a car in this segment do yourself a favor and at least test drive one with a sport package.
330i sport avg 22 mpg wow what a car!
I have had a 325i Sport, 325i base and now a 330i Sport, I want to say that there is a wow factor between base and sport, I wish it wasnt true but they are two different cars, my 325i avg 23-24 mpg unbelievable in my book, but with a slight lag on takeoff oh well the trade off is MPG, the 330i avg 22 mpg solid, hwy 75-80 28 mpg 65 mph-34 mpg and 60-35, I think for a 255 hp this is incredible, it has the bang when you hit it but from 1-10 mph yes its not a rocket ship but feel BMW did it right, it handles GREAT, maybe not like a G35 but that is a hard harsh ride , the 330i isnt yet the 325 sport was harsh? I feel the 330i is worth the extra $, outside of a small lag you will love this car
2006 BMW 3 Series 325i
Silky ride and excellent road feel. Very good build quality (mat'ls) and fit/finish.
325xi a must in the snow belt!
I absolutely love my new 325xi. It is amazing in the snow and a true sports car to drive on dry pavement. Interior room is superb for a car of this size and the features are like that of a James Bond car! I truly believe it handles better than my old Corvette! If you are looking for a luxury sports sedan and you are in the snow belt, you will love this automobile!
A driver's wagon
This has to be the best 3 series by far, and the best looking wagon out there. Handling, performance and fit and finish are first rate. The options are pricey but fun, especially the panorama sunroof (not available on the sedan due to its size). Sport package is worth it for the wheels and seats. Logic 7 sound system is remarkable.
Ultimate Driving Machine
I've had an Acura, Lexus, Mercedes and Cadillac. My 325xi is absolutely the best car I've owned. Driving it is wonderful. Those who complain about the stiff ride need to understand this is a German performance car not your dad's Buick! The run flat tires are a problem. I replaced 2 after 14,000 miles and there is some comfort in having a spare tire on long trips when BMW dealers are hard to find. Handles great on snow and ice in the midwest. Once you go BMW, you'll never leave.
Love this car
We had a Camry. This rides so much better and is more comfortable. FREE maintenance. Dual zone air conditioning. VERY adjustable seats and steering column. On Board computer--NO DIPSTICK---run flats
Good but with questions
Door handles had to be replaced. My 6- speed manual has a 4th gear that disengages between 60 and 75km/hr. No good for Prairie winters, even with new snow tires - xdrive might be better. Vehicle is generally too light for snowy climes and icy roads. Fun in the sun, though. Great handling. Good warranty and servicing support and dealerships offer very good customer service.
What a car...
Just got my new 325i with Sport Package. Wow, for years, I have driven VW's, Hondas...but this is totally different thing. I am glad I got it and it is definitely worth every dime. Outside is beautiful, compact, but just the way it's supposed to be. Inside is perfect, from the layouts to the available room, which is great for the class of this automobile. The car is super quiet, but roars nicely when stepped on it. Sport package is definitely worth the money. Leatherette looks and feels great. I could go on, and on...
330xi 6-sp man sport, premium and cold
Traded in 2003 330i for this. Initially, I have some reservation. But only the second day of owning it, I can't even find enough excuses driving it. The engine is superbly smooth. The 6-speed manual executed perfectly. Got it black on black with aluminum trim. I'm loving it more each day. Best decision ever made. Pick up is excellent even in 6th gear.
Addictive drive
I have owned an E30 325is, E36 M3, and E46 330is, all great cars for their time. My E90 330i lacks the thrill of an M3, but it's better looking, roomier, and more addictive to drive. Handling is superb. Steering feel is nearly as good as an E36 M3. The engine revs smoothly and powerfully through each gear. The sound system is great. The suspension is perfect. Truly a sweet car - the best 3 Series I've owned.
Nice car
Handles very well and looks great. Not as fast off the line as I'd like for the money. Looking into aftermarket parts to fill the gap here. Still more fun to drive than most competitors. Not the best value in it's class (G35) but it's worth it if you can spare the extra change. Test drove a WRX STI just for fun - if you could put that motor in the 330i, you'd have the worlds most perfect car.
RIDES LIKE A ROCK, Road vibration
This new 06 330 rides like they forgot to put tires on it. Road vibration works its way up the steering wheel and after an hour of hi-way driving your hands start to tingle. Car shimmies at 50mph. The I-drive system has the speed of a 15 year old computer. Too much road noise enters the car. My old 01 330 much much better. One would think that they could consider the ride and some confort on newer models but they took it away. Great car if you travel over 75 mph all the time & take almost any corner at that speed and you really like feeling the road. I don't recommend it to the people that drive the speed limit on average roads. This car is not worth the money if you drive the speed limit.
Lots to smile about with the 330i
Picked up the car 12/31/05. Since then, I have put on ~3,900 miles. Some in snow, some in rain and now quite a bit in sunshine... all of it has been a pure joy to experience. From interior/exterior fit & finish, to overall esthetics & overall performance, this car is HARD to beat, if NOT impossible. Oh, did I mention it gets great fuel mileage & I'm talking a 21.1 avg since I picked it up (I DON'T drive slowly either ;-) If you're in the market for an upscale sport sedan and have ~$45k to spend, look no further!
Fun in the Sun
I just sold my 2001 330I and bought the new 2006 model and I couldn't be more happier. I got the sport package and premium package as I had before and the extra interior room is more than adequate. I have had several compliments on the new look and design. It doesn't seem as quick as my 2001 from the start but the ride is alot more comfortable and smooth. I recommend it to anyone who can afford it, but make sure you get the sport package with the upgraded rims etc.!
My new love....
The car drives absolutely amazing. It grasps the road like no other car. My car was custom made to perfection and the way I would want it. I have not seen anyone with my Barrique Red color, thankfully. The car is truly and absolutely amazing! This was definitely the best 18th birthday present ever!
Just like old times!
this is my 3rd BMW 325i. I fell in love in Germany in 2000 and have loved them every since. The price is great for the comfort, luxury options, driving experience, and safety features. Car insurance is comfortable for a sports car. I like the upgrades on the 2006. For example; run flats, key pod, aux jack for stereo system.
Awesome
BMW has done a great job enhancing the 3 series. More rear seat space and trunk space, improved transmission, great stereo and of course great looks. Bought my 2006 325i last week and the dealer service was excellent. Performance, fuel economy and free scheduled maintenance were huge factors in my decision to buy this car.
After 8 months
Window buttons hard to reach, cup holders useless, iDrive is finicky, A/C and heater not as powerful as my Honda Accord, voice command option is all but useless. That being said I love my 325i. I've got 10K miles on it now. MPG is okay, handling is fantastic, acceleration is good in auto, great in semi-manual. A young guy in a 2004 330i thought he'd get the better of me at a light - he was wrong. Ride is firm but smooth. Car paid for itself when a much younger girl said "Wow, very nice car" to me the day after I bought it - very shallow of me, but it was still reaffirming.
Great Car!!
This is one of the best cars I owned, it runs smoothly on highways, good performance on bad roads also (I live in Costa Rica) it feels very compact and very stable on sharp turns.
Awesome
The car is just awesome. It drives like a champ. The Auto DS mode always shifts right. You gotta have the sport and premium package. The bluetooth is really useful. It's very simple... it connects with you!
Sweet Ride
Great car! 20K miles now and no problems. I love the run-flats but you won't, if you want a cushy ride. My dealer DID repair one with a nail hole and tires are wearing well. At least 5K left on them. After myriad expensive and seemingly unsolvable problems with my '99 Saab 9-5, this is welcome change and when my lease expires I'm torn between buy-out and 335! I think seats are very comfortable and I'm tall (6'4", 200).
Excellent, highly refined sports sedan.
This BMW is faster than most cars (got the 6 speed), excellent acceleration. I drove a 7 series before this, so the Sport Package and short wheelbase on the 3 ride pretty rough for my taste. The car feels like its glued to the road though. Stunning looks, very fun, Bluetooth is awesome,Sport seats too, Stock base stereo jams.
Happy 2006 325i owner
I absolutely love this car. The new exterior design is sharp and in my opinion looks better than the older model... and I liked the look of the older models. The new design is hot and sporty. The added power is a nice bonus. It's loaded with standard features. Things I didn't have the last time I bought a car... mp3 player and power moonroof/sunroof just to name 2. It's only been a week and I can't stop driving... nearing 800 miles. =( But I love it.
An awesome sports car!
This car drives phenomenally. Going 100 mph feels like you are doing 40 mph. Its hugs the road around turns and sucks up all the bumps so you don't feel it. The inside is super quiet when driving. If I had known that BMWs were so much fun to drive, I would have bought one years ago.
Love my E90
I love the new E90 body style!! I got the 6sp with sports package. Drives like a DREAM. Although I hate the CDV when shifting the gears. What a huge difference it made when I removed the CDV... now it shifts very smooth.
Impressive 330i Sport
I have owned this car for seven months and it still never fails to impress me with its performance and economy. My car has the Sport package and adaptive steering and hugs the road better than my Porsche 911. On a recent trip to DC I averaged 32+ MPG. It is my first BMW, but will be a family member for many years to come !!
I can see why "World Car of the Year"
The handling, styling, cornering, etc. This car was just named World Car of the Year and I can see why. The Ultimate Driving Machine.
A happy ownership experience
After 2 yrs and 40k miles, I'll have to say that I've been happy with my BMW. A problem early on with some of the fuel system parts, now at 40k peeling paint on a trim strip (will be covered by warranty), and a drivers winow that sometimes goes into "trouble" mode (only goes down about 2 inches until reset) are the only troubles I've had. Yes, the OEM tires were HORRIBLE, but the car is wonderful after replacing them. The car handles like you've always heard BMWs do, the engine is sweet. Complaints? Few. Cupholders are annoying, as is the "freeze warning" that chimes whenever the temp drops below 37 degrees. Paint quality is not great. But I LOVE the car!
Wow - The new 330XI - What a Car!!
Does everything well - I am so very impressed with handling and power. Noticeable upgrade in Power from my E46 330i. Went with the ZPP and ZCP - All the options are wonderful and great.
BMW 325 2006
It's a nice car and fun to drive. Got everything that I look for, and doesn't have anything I don't care to have. Great handling, reasonably quite. It ride solid but smoothly, just one of the best car one could have hoped for out of a small car. Excellent road feel, easy to go around. To me, the new 3 is a better looking car than the 5 and the 7 series. A head turner no doubt.
Not what you would expect.
The new 2006 BMW 325i is not what you would expect from a 4-door sedan! The comfort level is superb (Even for someone who is 6'3", as I am). The new 3 liter engine really does the trick. The automatic transmition allows for a comfortable ride in "D" mode, however, when you find yourself on an empty road filled with curves, put it in Sport mode or the semi-manual mode and the car truely comes alive. The sports package adds quite a nice touch. The larger rims and adjustable sport seats are easily worth the money. Also, I have been averaging a great 34 mpg on the highway. Hard to beat! The car is truly a joy to drive, and I find myself taking a rural, winding route home in the evenings.
BMW 330i Sedan
This is the best BMW I have ever owned. The last trip I went on (most inter-state driving), I averaged 33.6 mpg. The car is very quiet and handles great. I totally enjoy it.
Excellent
Replaced my Porsche Boxter with the BMW 330xi. I love it!! Very comfortable and loving everything about it - BT, Stereo, Steptronic, Automatic Folding Side Mirrors, Lumbar Support, Heated Seats, etc....
BMW for life
This was my first BMW and it has lived up to all of it's expectations. I am in love with this car.INow I know what they mean when they say a car can be fun to drive. This will not be the last BMW I purchase. I'm sold for life. I think that the people who design BMWs know what the buyers want. I wanted a sports car that had a feel of luxury and that's exactly what I got. Now I'm ready for the M6. The sexiest car to me hands down.
Ultimate Driving Experience
True to its ads this is the ultimate driving experience. The car handles effortlessly and the ride is gorgeous. The new design in up to date without becoming a space creature like so many new models on the road today. They have updated a true classic and stayed true to its roots. Well done BMW!!!
