Exciting car, enjoy your life!
Audi hit a grand slam with the 2018 A5 Cab. Super fun to drive, exterior and interior design are minimalist and logical. Crisp steering and acceleration. Exceptional storage space and backset roominess for the kids ( and even adults) to enjoy the ride. Interior materials are exceptional. The nighttime lighting configuration is beautiful. If you are buying this car you must get the upgraded Bang and Olufsen sound system and upgraded (ventilated seats). Upgraded sound is a $900 upgrade and worth every penny when you are on the highway with the top down. Upgraded seats are the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Because Audi was able to make the body extra stiff and the top is 3 layers of sound proofing, you will not lose performance due to the soft top or even feel like you are in a convertible with the top up. My only issue is the software that powers the MMI is slightly buggy. If you are considering the A5, go for the Cab. you will not regret it!

Smooth, fast, quiet and really easy on the eyes
Sorry for the sexist title, but I fell in love with the A5 Sportback, not because it was practical, but because I was in love with the looks. It's a fine automobile with many fine attributes, but let's be honest it's not the most practical of cars. What do I love other than the looks? It's quiet, loaded with cool features for both comfort and safety, has an automate lifting hatch back, great sound system, ventilated seats, and it's sexy oh so sexy. Now for what's impractical: It's sleek frame and lowered stance means it takes effort to get into and out of. You actually get a core work out each time you enter and exit the car. The suspension will feel every bump on the road. I don't even have the sport edition, and can't imagine what that would feel like - the non sport edition is plenty sporty enough for me. Beyond that it's just my standard gripe that comes with the territory of high insurance costs, average fuel economy with premium fuel, depreciation and the pending maintenance that comes with vanity. I had to do it - only time will tell if I'd do it all over again. 2 years of ownership update: I'm adding a star and really have grown to love this car even more. The fuel economy is actually pretty great considering it has a sport tuned turbo 4 cyl engine that gives you all the passing power you could ever need. I can get 35 mpg on the HWY and 25 in the city. The AWD means I can take it up to Tahoe all year long. One snowy road trip I not only enjoyed the AWD, but the heated seats and steering wheel. There's a pass through for the skis in back. Also due to the shortage of new cars and the sudden demand has meant my car after two years of ownership has actually increased in value which is hard to believe. I bought this car as a CPO vehicle from an Audi dealer - it was a service loaner and had only 6,000 miles when I purchased it. The threw in an extra year factory warranty. The cost (Premium Plus with vented seats) was $33,500 + tax and license two years ago. Can't say I've ever owned a car that has gone up in value - until now. Word to the wise: Don't buy the Audi maintenance plan - they will make you believe a $200 oil change is saving you money because they will perform 30 something checks blah blah blah. I went to a nearby Meineke and got the full synthetic oil change with tire rotation for $70 and I didn't have to leave the car for the day. The Audi package wanted extra for the tire rotation.

Audi outdid themselves on this redesign
This is my 4th A5 Cab. Obviously this is the first redesign. Wow !!! is all I can say. The car is fantastic, solid, bold, head turning, powerful enough, just a joy to get behind the wheel of. Yes the tech is overwhelming and lots to learn but I am getting it. Its a great combo of luxury and sport. I own a 2017 E Class Benz. That car cannot hold a candle to this one. Night and day in my opinion. Having a soft top gives you lots of trunk space even the top is down. I have seen a convertible that has more trunk space. Audi nailed it on this one.

Quite impressed with overall experience. Overall experience is elevated with top notch quality of material, ambiance, Lighting and sound. Manual controls on A5 cabriolet could use some finetuning.

A5 Fun to Drive
After seven Months no problems. The car has less road noise than my previous TLX. The body construction is solid and materials of construction are high quality. Acceleration is a excellent for the engine size, especially for passing on two lane roads. The sport suspension gives an expected firm ride. Quattro handling is great. Bang and Olufsen sound system is excellent.
