After six years with my Verona, I am buying a new car, and it is time for a Verona recap. I liked the car when I bought it and still do. The styling has held up, for me at least, better than its other 2004 competitors. After 62,000 miles, the engine remains silky smooth on acceleration and high speed. Cornering is great for this non-racer, and the leather remains flawless. Fuel ... Read More

Evergreen ? Where in Bend did you get your engine done? Hear is our story We bought a Suzuki Verona 2004 used from a car dealership in madras Oregon in Feb 2008. The car was sold as is. We were told by the salesman that the car was serviced regularly and that it had never showed any mechanical issues. His pitch included that Suzuki offered a 7 year 100,000 mile power ... Read More
I have a 2004 Suzki Verona S that was given to me from my mother. I'm 19 years old and this is my first car. I received it in 2007 as a gift during my junior year of high school. I have a 2004 Verona and just recently when I go to get gas it clicks off like it is full. It clicks and clicks and it takes forever to put in a couple gallons. I don't believe everyone is saying Suzuki produces nothing but junk. But when it comes to the 2004 Verona they completely got it wrong. Are any of you other Verona owners aware of the fact that Suzuki did not design or build the first Vehicle that carries the name Verona. Suzuki purchased Daewoo from GM and the Verona was a model designed by Daewoo, I'm not sure but I think it ... Read More
Your stalling problem is not something changing gas is going to fix. I just got my 2004 Verona back two days ago from the dealer where it has been for over a month. At 36,700 miles Suzuki replaced the engine and a whole lot of other parts. The repair cost was $12,485.62 in parts and labor all of which was covered by Suzuki. But to answer your question a Suzuki rep ... Read More
You know, it's not fair to judge Suzuki on this car alone. I've had several of they're other vehicles from the past and never had problem with any of them. The other cars made by them have been of good quality and made in Japan. The Aerio and Esteem come to mind. I've owned an Esteem and several Suzuki Sidekicks that have performed quite well for me. I too, am the former owner of a Verona who traded his in for an 06 Hyundai Sonata (used), after marvelling over his wife's 07 Hyundai Sonata (new). I also have an 04 Verona EX bought in April 2004. In Sept 04 I received a Safety Recall Notice from Suzuki to replace the ECM Engine Control Module. Haven't posted in quite some time to try and keep my mind of the horror of the Verona. For the last 2 years it's been in the shop about 20 times. According to Pres. Koichi Suzuki, the Verona will be discontinued at the end of the 2006 model year. Highest sales were recorded in 2004 at 12,874 units. Suzuki also reported the return of the Swift hatchback in 2010 (discontinued ... Read More

They must believe, or Suzuki must believe, that the problems are solved and drastic measures are not ... Read More
First Chuck, all life is a crap shoot. The primary complaint against this car concerns stalling. Anyone who knows anything about an automobile knows that this is a relively simple software/hardware bug in the EFI. For some reason, the EFI is trying to run the engine too lean. This means too little fuel to air ratio. I guess you had to drive and maintain one of them old cars with a ... Read More
I just purchased a new 2004 Verona. So far I am very pleased. It only has about 500 miles on it. I got a fantastic deal. It's everything that I expected. This is something six cylinders can ... Read More
Well fellow Verona owners, it is very depressing reading some of these messages even though I may have gotten a "good one". I bought late in the 2004 model year. Is it possible that Suzuki may have gotten the problem fixed by then?
The 2004 Verona got off to such a bad start I'm fearful that Suzuki may pull the plug on the car after 2005. According to Motor Trend, the 2005 Verona will also receive a tool-kit and a tire-pressure monitoring system. I wonder what the prices will be? Considering that Suzuki hiked the price of the 2004 model by $700 mid-year, I wouldn't be surprised to see a notable increase for the 2005 model, especially with the extra standard equipment. On a side note, the Iridium spark plugs should improve the gas mileage a little ... Read More

I agree that the Verona offers a poor combination of power and economy. This is an area that Suzuki and GMDAT should resolve in future model years. Does anyone have an idea why economy is not better? The vehicle weight is a bit heavy, but I think not enough to cause the ... Read More
