2019 Porsche Cayenne
I had a new GTS on order as there were no slots available for the Turbo and when it arrived at the dealership early last month, I passed and purchased my lease on the Turbo. It simply is the best every day driver I have ever owned. It did not make sense to go backwards to the GTS, although it was beautiful, as the Turbo does it all. Compared to previous cars, I have put very few miles … on it as I"m only at 35,000 (it did spend six months in the shop after killing Bambi's father) but besides that, it has not miss a beat. The majority of my miles is driving to our second home in Tahoe and this car is in its element, open road in the mountains (we miss traffic by going weekdays early morning or evenings). The altitude (7,000 ft) does not really impact the engine with the twin turbos and it pulls the hills like they are not there. In the winter, I have full snow tires, and even on the backroads where they are not plowed as much as you can get 2' of snow on the roads easily, this does not miss a beat. I will say the Land Rover Sport I had previously had a slight edge in deep snow but when I take this off-road to the motorcycle trails or a few other trails, again, no problem. I'm the first to admit the off-road trails should not be a challenge for any all-wheel drive vehicle as it is not the Rubicon. I"m waiting to see what Porsche does with the next generation Cayenne. If they are not going to use the twin turbo V-8 again, I'll pickup a new '25 Turbo or maybe look at alternatives as I"m not ready for electric yet. I need one more V-8 before their extinct.
