Check/replace radiator fan relay. It is in the black box under the hood.

Sounds electrical. Does the car just stall the engine, or cut all power completely? The heats causing an open circuit somewhere. with the high miles, i would check for any engine control relays(i.e ignition, injection, ECU, main) and replace them, fairly cheap. Is the Check Engine light on? Scan it. After that, a possible sensor is breaking down from the heat, take it to a trained professional. worst case is the ... Read More

I have a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire that stalls when the outside temperature gets to high. It is a 2.2L, 5 speed, with 235,000 miles. I have had a computer plugged up and only saw a misfire on the codes. Folks, My 2001 Pontiac Sunfire has the identical symptoms. I have change the whole fuel and ignition systems. I've even exchanged the entire exhaust system. It ran good for two weeks. I just left it at the Wal-Mart parking lot knowing that nobody can possibly steal it. I have a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire and last summer when stopping in traffic my car stalled. It started right up again than stalled whenever i had to come to a stop. Hi, I need to bleed my hydraulic clutch. Anyone know where the bleeder valve is? Is there anything I should look out for when bleeding a manual clutch that is different from bleeding brakes? Thanks, Jim

I would like to know if anyone could tell me if I could install a 2002 Sunfire engine in a 1997 Sunfire? They both are 2.2L engines
