Occasional problems on this vehicle are failure of the Intake Valve Timing Control (IVTC) Position Sensor, Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor and Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor. Failure of the IVTC Position Sensor can cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Failure of the CMP and CKP sensors may cause an engine stall or no start as well as illumination of the Check Engine Light. Failure of the engine position sensors may be covered by a factory recall.
The cost to replace either the IVTC Position, CMP or CKP Sensors are each estimated at $50 for parts and $39.00 for labor. All prices are estimates based on $65.00 per flat rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable sales tax.
