1998 Nissan Maxima SE 4dr Sedan

Review

'98 Maxima SE, 54k miles, manual transmission. Zero problems so far after 17k miles and one year of ownership (I bought it used). Small quirks: some screeching sounds from time to time from the brake pads, some whinning sounds from the clutch esp during warm weather.

Favorite Features

Roomy, powerful, pretty quiet, one of the few big cars offered with manual transmission (although with a low quality one). Superior sound system, good quality materials (the interior looks like new after four years). Reasonable gas mileage. RELIABLE!!!

Suggested Improvements

The SE suspension is nice to have on good roads, esp at higher speeds, but very stiff and unpleasant on bad roads. The manual shifter is one of the worst I've seen in 10 years of driving: it has a very long throw and it's imprecise.
